Decided to try this place after passing by here a lot of times. The whole restaurant is unassuming and when we got in, it felt like those authentic Italian restaurants with their overall vibe and ambiance. The service we received was good and server was friendly. We enjoyed the food that we had. Mushrooms were tasty, the pasta was filling and delicious. Perfect for date night, I should say!

À la cart half-and-half, spaghetti, and ravioli, grilled chicken Alfredo, rigatoni with cheese Alfredo and half of French bread roll.

Absolutely tasteful! You won't be disappointed having a dish of Italian food at Rosa's! My family enjoyed a little bit of everything and it was all flavorful. I recommend ordering from their à la carte meals because the portions are a good size for one person to enjoy. My family enjoyed their half and half meal of spaghetti and ravioli with a side of sausage. Pepperoni Pizza was yummy and of course chicken grilled Alfredo scrumptious with the right amount of sauce. Their service was quick with a 20 -25 minute pick up. I recommend this place if you're living or visiting the Eastside of Bakersfield.

Mom spent a few days not feeling well so I thought some Rosa's Special Pizza would help and it sure did. Been eating at Rosas's since my mom was pregnant with me in the 70's and we are still enjoying it.

Environment: It's a small restaurant, but it feels like an authentic Italian spot. At first, it didn't look like the type of place I'd normally choose--but turns out it's a hidden gem! Cozy, simple, and all about the food. Food: The sauces were the star of the night. We tried three different ones, and each dish had its own unique flavor. Every bite felt worth every cent. Honestly the best Italian food I've ever tasted, and we left so full. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that the waiter recommended the best options for my preference. Service: Amazing! Our waiter truly deserved the biggest, sweetest tip. He was kind, attentive, and made my birthday special with complimentary ice cream. What meant a lot was how he welcomed us as the only Latinos there--he spoke Spanish with my mom and made her feel comfortable. That hospitality left such a good impression. Overall: A hidden gem in Bakersfield with incredible food and even better service. One of those rare places that makes you feel like family. Loved it!

Came here with a friend for lunch because Mamma Mia & Urrichio's were both closed on Mondays. We so wanted a salad for lunch from these places. At any rate, we hopped on the 178 to the Eastside and went to Rosa's. I've never been before so this was a good chance for me to finally try their food. Their lunch menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I spotted the Mushroom Ravioli with Alfredo sauce while my girlfriend had the Lasanga. She also highly recommended the sautéed mushrooms. Boy! Those mushrooms were so good and had a great deep rich flavor. Description just says button mushrooms seasoned and cooked to perfection. And perfection it was. I would go back there right away just for that deep, rich sauce. It was so darn good, I used my bread to soak all that richness and even spooned over the mushrooms and sauce on top of my ravioli and Alfredo sauce, which took the dish to a whole new level. There's a quiet quaintness about this place. The booths were cozy and provided you just enough privacy to enjoy your meal away from the next table. The service was expeditious. The lunch portions were huge and yet we had no trouble finishing our meals. I would come back here again. Those mushrooms are calling my name.

We've always enjoyed Rosa's, but we haven't been for a while. We decided to try it out for lunch. Their prices are great and so is the food and the portions were huge for lunch. My husband had the lasagna. I felt that it could've used a bit more marinara and the noodles seemed a little overcooked, but overall, it was very tasty! I chose the chicken cacciatore. My only complaint would be that the chicken breast seemed a little tough; I just cut the chunks into smaller pieces and it was fine. There were tomatoes, onions, peppers and mushrooms in the delicious sauce. I would definitely recommend it and will have it again. My daughter had the chicken piccata which she thought was a little salty. We shared some tiramisu for dessert, which is my favorite, and it was delicious!! In spite of the parking lot being full when we arrived, we were seated promptly and the service was good.

Food tastes as if it was a frozen dinner, New York was like beef jerky(ordered medium).. chicken piccata was dry and gravy tastes like it's from a can. 1/10 servers are very welcoming.

Delicious homemade Italian food! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is family friendly. They accommodate large groups. This place is great for a night out, birthday celebration, or any occasion! Their pizza is also really good!

The food is always well prepared and delicious. The service is always spot on. They have a private banquet room for larger gatherings. Juliette was our fantastic server this evening, friendly and efficient. We started with a couple of escargot appetizers for the table. It comes drenched in garlic butter and topped with Parmesan cheese. The French onion soup was divine. I had the yummy Lemon drop salmon with the house rice pilaf and sautéed fresh vegetables. One of my dining companions had the Ribeye with a loaded baked potato. Another had the Filet with bleu cheese & baked potato and lastly the scrumptious lamb lollipops. Another memorable dining experience. We ended the meal with their famous Malva cake. So moist, rich and delicious. If you've never had it, it's a must try.

There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.
