Arrived at 4:30pm on a Friday (Opens at 4pm) walked past a group of folks getting takeout pizza gathered by the cash register. We were quickly seated. Three of us enjoyed: Chicken Artichoke Penne, Cannelloni, and a small Rosa's Special pizza. Everything arrived hot and delicious. While other establishments are raising prices somehow Rosa's offers amazing options at a reasonable price. 1/2 carafe of the Chianti in chilled glasses for $14 is a perfect example. I recommend ordering from their à la carte meals because the portions are a good size for one person to enjoy. My family enjoyed their half and half meal of spaghetti and ravioli with a side of sausage. Pepperoni Pizza was yummy and of course chicken grilled Alfredo scrumptious with the right amount of sauce. Honestly the best Italian food I've ever tasted, and we left so full. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that the waiter recommended the best options for my preference. Service: Amazing! Came here with a friend for lunch because Mamma Mia & Urrichio's were both closed on Mondays. We so wanted a salad for lunch from these places. At any rate, we hopped on the 178 to the Eastside and went to Rosa's. I've never been before so this was a good chance for me to finally try their food. Their lunch menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I spotted the Mushroom Ravioli with Alfredo sauce while my girlfriend had the Lasanga. She also highly recommended the sautéed mushrooms. Boy! Those mushrooms were so good and had a great deep rich flavor. Description just says button mushrooms seasoned and cooked to perfection. And perfection it was. I would go back there right away just for that deep, rich sauce. It was so darn good, I used my bread to soak all that richness and even spooned over the mushrooms and sauce on top of my ravioli and Alfredo sauce, which took the dish to a whole new level. There's a quiet quaintness about this place. The booths were cozy and provided you just enough privacy to enjoy your meal away from the next table. The service was expeditious. I have been a huge fan of Rosa's and wanted to give them some love. The spaghetti bolognese is wonderful and they have some of the best meatballs in town (the bread is amazing too!). I really love their chicken piccata and my family loves their pizza. There is something there for everyone. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. They are conscientious and are great with takeout orders and being time sensitive. This place has always been a solid Italian staple. I highly recommend trying it at least once. read more

We've always enjoyed Rosa's, but we haven't been for a while. We decided to try it out for lunch. Their prices are great and so is the food and the portions were huge for lunch. My husband had the lasagna. I felt that it could've used a bit more marinara and the noodles seemed a little overcooked, but overall, it was very tasty! I chose the chicken cacciatore. My only complaint would be that the chicken breast seemed a little tough; I just cut the chunks into smaller pieces and it was fine. There were tomatoes, onions, peppers and mushrooms in the delicious sauce. I would definitely recommend it and will have it again. My daughter had the chicken piccata which she thought was a little salty. We shared some tiramisu for dessert, which is my favorite, and it was delicious!! Oh my! What a wonderful place for delicious Italian food!! Went for a lunch and had clam and linguine with red sauce ($15), my husband chose the "half and half" with spaghetti and beef ravioli ($13). Terrific sauces, perfectly seasoned on both our choices. We were enthusiastically greeted upon entering by the owner and all the staff were so friendly. Excellent service and a very cheerful staff. (No bar!) but Great tasting food... and a reliable menu that has been it standard for years and years. If I want something, a little elegant, I go to Sorella's...if I want something creative, it's Olive Garden (not a fan of their bar menu so I usually order iced tea with lemon). Sorella's offer is really good steaks and great ambience. As an aside, I find it interesting that all three restaurants are in a different section of Bakersfield, which also makes it nice at times. read more

We heard that the same people owned this Rosa's and the one in Pismo Beach. If it's true they must of forgot about this one. When you walk in the old stained carpet is enough to make you think twice about eating here. The walls are old and faded, the bench seats in the booths are worn with holes where many people have sat with no update. The dining room is broken up into almost private dining spaces. This added to the dull feeling of the dining room. The service was fair and the bus person pretty much kept up with removing dirty dishes but you had to ask for refills. The food was okay but nothing like Pismo. The salad was large but the soup had spaghetti and another pasta as filler, but it lacked flavor. The pasta dishes and red and white sauces were decent but anything great. Anyway it has no ambiance the stained carpet raised questions about cleanliness. The food was average. They have a team serving method, which is so efficient. Our servers were were pleasant and fun while being very effective. My friend & I both had the Linguini with white clam sauce. It's a garlicky delight in an olive oil, wine sauce. As always it was a generous serving of deliciousness! The prices are very reasonable for the serving size an quality of your meal. They are family friendly as well. So if you don't live on the East side, take the ride anyway. It is well worth it. I highly recommend Rosa's! read more

Very nice place with decent food. On my hunt for our cities best food, sadly i've never had any drop-dead delicious italian food in bakersfield still. My girlfriend said the spaghetti and meatballs was great, I got the Margarita pizza which was meh at best. very little sauce with too many tomato slices. When I want a classic, family owned, delicious Italian meal, we head to Rosa's. They never let you down. We were greeted and seated immediately, and every detail was attended to. I went with a classic fettuccini Alfredo and my daughter ordered spaghetti. Our dinner did not feel heavy and the flavor of the sauce was right on. It feels as if you are at your families' table and we had a great conversation with more than one of the servers, and possibly an owner.
