This Fry's Marketplace is massive. When we walked in it honestly caught me off guard with how big it is. They have way more than just groceries. There is a big clothing section, a lot of home goods, and a huge pool and seasonal area. It feels more like a one stop shop than a typical grocery store. On top of that, the food selection is great. They have everything you would expect and then a lot of options that other Fry's locations just do not carry. Overall, a really impressive store. If you want variety and a place where you can get pretty much anything in one trip, this is definitely a great Fry's to go to. read more

This Frys location is unlike many of the others I've seen in the valley. This one being a Marketplace location is definitely a leveled up experience. They have everything food and home good wise the other locations have. The difference is these locations have clothing too. The clothing looks high quality too. The experience shopping here was high quality and the employees were friendly and helpful too. I was enjoying myself so much and got what I needed that I didn't take pics..oops. I have shopped at this Fry's for the past 13 years, and after some recent experiences, I've decided to take a break from shopping for my family's groceries here. I'd like to share some feedback about my experience with customer assistance and the produce quality. Finding help in the store has been challenging. Whether I ask a picker, a checker, or customer service, it often feels like they aren't available to assist. I've asked for help several times over the past year and haven't been able to get the support I need. It seems like employees are busy with their tasks and might not have much time to assist customers. I believe that helpful customer service is a key part of any good business, and I hope Fry's can improve in this area. Last week, I approached customer service for help, and the clerk seemed a bit annoyed when I asked. She gave me a few possible locations for my item, but wasn't able to be more specific. At that point, I decided to cancel my shopping trip and leave the store. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told none were available. It's disappointing when customer needs aren't met, and I truly hope the store can address this. Regarding the produce, I understand that certain items can be more challenging during this time of year. However, I've noticed that some produce can become quite old by the time I bring it home, which can affect quality. It would be great if the store could ensure that fresh, high-quality items are available and avoid offering produce that may not last long. I appreciate that Fry's often offers low prices, which is important. However, I value shopping experiences where customers are treated with respect and assistance. A very updated and upscale grocery store. I live within a mile of it, so I thought we would check it out. This place is HUGE. Reminds me of a Walmart or a Costco. Huge produce, bakery, deli sections and even clothes sections and towels/household item aisles. A wing bar too! I grabbed a few and thought they were pretty tasty. A full service Starbucks inside, which is a great touch. The only reason for 4 stars is my checker, Heather, was very rude. I will take a different checker next time, lol. Although Fry's is by far our preferred grocery store and we have shopped at this particular Fry's since it was built today is our last trip there. This store is ALWAYS (no exaggeration - ALWAYS) short handed on cashiers. It doesn't matter if it's during peak time or a slower time of customers you are going to spend an exorbitant amount of time stand in line. This is NOT the fault of the cashiers, it's a failure of management. Extremely time consuming and frustrating! They have tons of self checkout lanes if you don't mind the hassle of doing it yourself. Either way you're going to spend an inordinate amount of time checking out. Today was our last trip to this store even though it's the closest Fry's to us. read more

I have tried everyday I know to time, order and deliver Simple Truth chicken. They are always sold out!!!

I've been coming to this store for over two years. Their hot bar is a disaster. Seem every time I buy chicken strips, fried chicken, wings or any product from this department there is never any consistency to their food. It all falls well below a basic standard. How the Manager of this department keeps their job is beyond me. I would fire that person on the spot. Furthermore the hep is atrocious. Never enough help during busy hours. Again. Fire the Manager and get someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Fry's a reliable stop for your kitchen and household needs. Their selection is varied and the stock is good. There are special selection items unique to the brand that are quite good. My favorite part of Fry's is their Murray's Cheese section. It is the perfect go-to for all your charcuterie dreams. The made to order sushi isn't too shabby either. read more

Absolutely the worst Frys I've ever been in. The produce was so bad, I almost left my almost full cart of groceries in the isle and walk out. I didn't get half the produce I wanted and when I got home I ended up throwing almost half of it out after I got through sorting it out. This Frys has a couple of very incompetent and unprofessional managers, Jonathan and David. Jonathan felt the need to argue with me in front of customers in the self check area. I had to switch out a product I was buying because it was defective. It was busy and there were no service members available so I decided to quickly run to the isle and switch out the product. I was gone for less than 1 minute when Jonathan took my items away from the register. When I asked him what happened, all he said in a negative tone was that I would have to ring everything up again. I told him he could have at least said I'm sorry. He immediately turned around and confronted me and said I could have told an employee I was going to get a replacement item. When I tried to explain that no one was available he said they were busy helping other customers. I told him I didn't appreciate him arguing with me. I asked him for his manager's name when David showed up. David wanted me to explain the situation right there in the check out area. I told him it would be better if we moved to a different area of the store where I could share what happened. After he heard my story, he had the audacity to tell me we were both wrong. He gave me an irrelevant example of people leaving their groceries behind because their cards aren't working and having go-backs because of that. When I told him I came right back and was ready to check out and his example wasn't relevant, he told me he didn't appreciate me telling him that. Needless to say, neither one of them apologized and went out of their way to dig in their heels. What ever happened to good old fashioned customer service and giving the customer the benefit of the doubt? In this case, the customer wasn't right. Maybe Frys should have some manager training on de-escalating and not being confrontational? read more

I hate the digital coupon system Fry's has. Half the time I cannot get the coupons to work. Plus what a hassle having to clip the coupons before I go to the store. Then when I get to checkout the digital coupons never work. Even the employees tell me they hate the coupon system. Fry's you are better than this. Fix this system and make it more user friendly. It is not today. Pity the poor people who have no technology background. Can't imagine how they deal with this. They probably just go to the competition and you can hardly blame them. read more

One of the best grocery stores around. Managers Matter, and the deli runs smooth. Meat is solid and the deals seem to be better than most.

Horrible place to shop. Pricing is deceptive. You have to clip digital coupons which then don't work, personal shoppers are in the way, prices at the register are incorrect, cashiers don't care and give you a blank state, a complete circus. Price gouging and misleading prices is criminal. I will continue to take my receipt to the horrible customer service for my refund every time. The customer service line each time is extremely long with the same issues. Have your employees stock the shelves nicely and check pricing and stop gouging customers.Also hire people that are trained well and put non customer service people in the back or stocking shelves. We've been going to this location for many years now. I feel it important to call out great customer service provided by Renee who manages the liquor department at this location. I had been on the hunt for something special that's proven difficult to get for some time now. I was pointed to Renee by a friend who advised she'd likely be able to help me get what I was looking for. While it did take some time, she was able to deliver what others have not been able to. I asked her how her day was going and she replied saying "stop talking to me". How does someone like this get approved for a manager position? UPDATE: I have been impressed lately, but I have a few cashier's that, if working, I will only use them. If they are not working, it is like Russian roulette. Brooke, Crystal, and Corrine are my go-to cashier's, they always do a great job. This place isn't enforcing any mask mandates even though there are signs all over the building I walked in this morning 4/17/21 and I saw no less than 10-15 people walking around without masks and no one has asked them to cover up or offered them a mask to wear I walked right out of this place. Fry's Grocery Stores in the immediate Gilbert Arizona area: Having grown up in the grocery business as my father had a grocery store though a small store, I eventually ended up working at a very well run independent grocery chain in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I worked my way through college working at a grocery store named Petrini's. I only mention this as I feel I have a very good handle on operations and what a well run store is suppose to look like including customer service. Times have changed but customer service is still the most important ingredient to long term success. Fry's Markets, while competitive, are one of the worst run grocery chains I have ever shopped. Fry's is owned by Kroger, which just happens to be the largest Grocery Store Chain in the USA and I think that is why Fry's is so badly mismanaged. Customer Service is at the bottom of the list or priorities. Nothing but lip service and cheap talk. Customer Service is the MOST IMPORTANT service any grocery store can offer/provide and Fry's fails miserable. Customer Service is what separates most grocery stores today and makes them a winner or loser.They have some excellent, long tenured caring employees but they know better than all how badly mismanaged this chain is. My wife was in the new store at Higley, Gilbert recently and asked a clerk where the tomato juice was located? The clerk answered with a question. You mean the type you drink. Wow! You cannot make this stuff up. I cannot count the times how many out of stocks this chain has whether it is eggs, cheese, bread or milk; all stable items to any consumer. Well stocked? Please just another example of words and actions that are not aligned. The shelves either look barren or are in complete disarray. Eye contact with a checker? Dream on. I have NEVER EVER seen a store manager in front of the store greeting customers, unloading grocery carts and pushing customers through the check out lanes on slow days or busty days. NEVER! The front end of any grocery store is where it happens and the customer will either walk out of the store feeling good or disconnected. It does not matter if you shop early am when the store opens and should by all accounts look it's best or late afternoon; the stores look terrible, long lines and the available check out stands are minimal at best YET all the self check out lanes are available. Go ahead check yourself out but no discount for doing the store's job. Welcome to the new world where customer service is nothing buy a buzz word and Kroger/Fry's have it down to a science. Higher prices for shopping at a lousy grocery chain that does it best work with their advertisements telling the world how good they are run and how much they value their customer. read more

This store is incredible. Everything is done right! The produce section, the deli, the sushi, Starbucks inside; all are outstanding. I wish we had a Fry's in San Diego. When I lived in AZ. I used to shop at Fry's all of the time but wow...they have really taken a grocery store to a whole new level. This actually makes shopping fun. Prices are amazing, nice wide aisles, pleasant lighting, extremely friendly staff. In addition to the usual grocery items they have a large selection of other items including minor automotive, household items etc and great gas prices. I can only think of one possible addition and that would be to have the deli make a couple of breakfast sandwich options in the morning to go with your Starbucks coffee. I think this would be a big hit for those people who are doing a quick stop in or live nearby and are looking for another fast and simple breakfast option. Overall this is a good store but there's always some items they ring up at regular pricing not at the advertised price. My wife is a nut in going through their ad to get the best deals. It seems like almost every time after check-out she finds items that were over charged meaning a trip to customer service for a credit. With these days of computers and bar codes, I don't know why they can't get it right or is it a way of increasing their profits at our expense. read more

The deli was pretty busy tonight, they have our favorite boars head meats which we only eat; turkey and chicken with all the flavors. The deli baristas are slicing, weighing, wrapping and bagging all in sync with the ebb and flow of deli customers with their number in hand. We do not mix our meats and Regina was ready and willing to clean her machine and let us pick and sample our many choices. Most Kroger family groceries have a deli and often have boars head and we have tried many in different states, so we are familiar with their Delis. I say all that to say how much we appreciate the service we received. Regina went above and beyond our expectations, we never felt rushed, but well served in ever enter action. Quick checkout and friendly employees as always. I like this store a lot but lately it seems to be going down hill. Just have to say the staff here is amazing!! I just moved to the area, and they made me feel so welcome. I have had a great experience twice, first I was with my son and he despretley wanted a small cart a lady that worked at frys heard him talking and went out of her way to find him one and walked it over. This made his day! Next time I was with my new born baby and was getting close to feeding time I wrapped up As quickly as I could but everyone around was kind, patient, and very helpful. First I was told my insurance was inactive (it's not, they just spelled my name wrong in their system) then they told me my insurance claimed my status was on hold (it's not, they again entered the wrong ID number) then they said my prescription wasn't covered and it was thousands of dollars out of pocket (it is, I moved it to another pharmacy and filled it same day for zero cost)! read more

I really enjoy this location. When I went for the usual weekly shopping trip, I was looking for a certain drink. Went up and down the aisles and couldn't find it. Went and talked to Kacie at customer service - super sweetheart who was able to find someone to help me. Jazz came to my rescue! She found the drink in the back and came back out with a cart full of cases! I ended up buying a dozen drinks. Super appreciative of the associates there! read more

When I shop for groceries, I'm methodical about what I put on the conveyor at the cashier. I put the heavier things on first so that the bagger can put it in cart so that the lighter items Like bread and fruits and vegetables can be placed on top without getting ruined, squished or punctured. Who throws two cartons of heavy milk onto tomatoes? The bagger at cashier number 9 does. I put my bread and vegetables last but for some reason she figured that she would hold off on the heavier items and then throw them on top in the cart. Where I'm from, beggars were taught how to put groceries in bags so that when you get home your food is not ruined. Or that you don't have cat food with your fruits and vegetables, or detergents with your food. Happens every time at this Fry's. read more
