Skewers + late nights = my kind of therapy. This is my go-to skewer spot after work when I need something tasty, chill, and open late (bless their hours!). The skewers? Always on point. Juicy, flavorful, and perfect whether you're starving or just need a little bite to wind down. The staff are super friendly--like, the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. The vibe? Adorably casual. Cute enough for a lowkey date night, but also perfect for spilling tea with friends over drinks and delicious bites. Yes, they've got alcohol. Yes, it's chill. And yes, you'll probably end up staying longer than you meant to. No regrets

Went here for a late night dinner with the hubby and it was very quiet. Only a few people dining in. We ordered beef bbq sticks, garlic and eggplant. Oh and some fried tofu. Food came out pretty quick. The bbq sticks were good, lots of seasoning. The fried tofu had crystals of msg.... Not a fan of it but I guess most Asian cuisine like to use Ajinomoto. Service was quick too.

If you're looking for a good beef skewer place, this is it! Good meaty portions and the spicy powder and house made sauce they have on the side makes it taste even better. Rice definitely goes with it. Scan QR and place order via phone. They have a good menu selection but there's still a lot of things I haven't tried yet. I know there are so many skewer spots in the bay (more flashy interior) but this place just keeps it simple while still serving good quality food. It's nice that they open until late, so good for a late night meal. However, there might be one or two loud parties so it could get loud in there. Workers are friendly and attentive. From my recent visit, I noticed they upgraded their utensils and cups. Convenient parking space in the plaza too.

Great late night spot for flavorful Chinese skewers and drinks. The skewers are always on point and my friends and I love coming here. Something about their seasoning keeps us coming back for more. Service is usually quick as your order through the QR code. They've recently updated their equipment and menu items. They now have a grill to help keep your skewers warm while you chat and laugh away with good company. Super cozy spot in the Milpitas square surrounded by other great restaurants. A bit on the pricier side, but that's with most skewer places. I don't mind splurging from time to time when I want good skewers.

First of all, my partner and I ordered a little too much, but when it's Chinese skewers it's manageable to finish so much. During happy hour which was from 4-11 pm on the Saturday we went, you can get 10 skewers of certain items for around 20 dollars (depending on what item). Between the lamb, beef, and chicken skin, my favorite was the lamb. It was well-flavored and quite juicy. Aside from that, the beef could be a little bit dry but still tasty, and the chicken skin in all of its fatty goodness is nicely crisped up. Service is definitely no fuss; as soon as you enter if there's a free seat you can sit down and order via QR code. It took a short while because the lone server was busy, but water and refills were given. While the restaurant is small, it's definitely more of a drinking setting (skewers + alcohol vibe). I liked that it was lowkey but still clean.

Parking is great if you come during off peak. Seating are Plentiful, space is loud. The menu is all digital (scan a barcode and order via their online browser). The skewers are just okay. They are $2-$5 per stick but it's extremely small (shorter than an iPhone 12 length if that helps). The quail eggs are absolutely frozen ones from the grocery store whereas they meat ones are dry and been sitting. Cash only!!

We came at happy hour and it was fairly empty. Great place for a quick something! My favorite kebab has to be lamb. They have spices and soy sauce on the side to season your meat so it's easy to adjust the kebab to your liking.

It was my first time here in a long long long time. I don't even remember whether or not I liked it. We came in around 12:30am and there was only one other party eating. We ordered a bunch of skewers and they came out pretty quick. They were all heavily seasoned with the same seasoning, which is why I think I prefer Japanese style skewers over Chinese. Because the skewers all kinda came out at once, it was hard to keep track of what you're eating and if you've received all the skewers you ordered. We did have to tell the staff that we were missing skewers for them to take it off our check. The fried rice was good. Everything was served on paper plates and cups, probably because of Covid. The bill was also very expensive at the end of our meal.

Assorted skewers (chicken, chicken hearts, chicken gizzards)

Chinese skewers!!! I crave for these skewers once in a while, and this is my first time back since the pandemic started. Happy to say the quality is still the same if not better! I've been here multiple times (funnily enough, always with the same friend haha). Some of our go-to items are Taiwanese sausage, chicken skin, chicken gizzards, chicken hearts, and shredded potato. I also like the fish tofu and chicken skewers (surprisingly juicy!), and my friend enjoys the sugar buns (these are a bit too bland for me). Each skewer is around $2, so price wise it is not bad at all. But it can really adds up if you get carried away. I'd say 10-15 skewers for each person + a shared snack is a good amount of food. We like to order soju to pair with our food time to time, since this is great drinking food (so definitely on the unhealthy side haha). Minus one star because service always takes a while no matter how busy the restaurant is, plus the lack of variety in flavor since they use the same flavoring for most skewers. I like their ordering process - They give you a plastic menu & marker, and you mark what you want to order yourself. Since the marker marks can be erased, thought that's pretty environmentally friendly lol. Overall, solid place for Chinese skewers! I'd say the food is authentic, but I haven't had these skewers anywhere else, so come try them yourself haha. And like other reviews have mentioned, the restaurant opens pretty late aka a great option for late night munchies.

$74 with tip for 3 people, so figure $25 per person. This was just the right amount of food. We didn't finish was the A veg, too spicy!
    Mr L.

Order some scissors so you can cut stuff up, like the sausage. The A Vegetable was way, way too spicy. Bell Peppers, green beens, beef, sausage were good. The Cucumber salad was good, but watch out for the raw garlic. Saba had a lot of bones. BBQ spices are okay, but a little too salty for me. 3.0-3.5 stars Not sure if I'd go back, but glad I tried this place

Glad to see FT BBQ open for indoor dining! We love the lamb skewers here. It can be a little fatty but that makes it so delicious and savory. The beef skewers are a little tough, especially if you do a take out order. Somehow the meat being in the box makes it even more tough after a while. Take note that they do not accept credit card payment for orders below $30. Also you can call in to place your order and it'll be ready in ~20min.

    Courtney T.

I like that this place is open late (1 am) and its super clean inside. I love coming here for the fish tofu, taiwanese sausage, beef/lamb kebabs and chicken skin. I always have to order at least 2-3 chicken skins! The skewers are seasoned well and has a spicy kick. The owner here is super nice and gives great service. My boyfriend has been coming here for years and recently just showed me this spot, so I will definitely be coming back more often.

I want to try one of their lunch combos, but they're only available on weekdays only. Otherwise, they're just selling entrees. Thankfully, they're still available when I'm here since it's within the time range. I got their Golden Original Boneless wings along with rice. I gotta that these are very big wings! Something you can have for your second meal if you're full right now. All of that including a soft drink is $15.99, which is quite affordable. The wings are very crispy and delicious. The rice is like other ones I usually eat but I'm not really gonna get down to that. What really matters is the wings since it's the main part of the meal. I'm definitely looking forward for other types of wings as well as different lunch options. Perhaps get the main entree to feed the whole family. I'm still disappointed that it rarely gets any customers. I recommend coming here for one of the best Korean-style chicken wings.

To me, the food ended up being just okay. It definitely wasn't bad, but a lot of it was dry and pretty average when it came to seasoning and flavor. Now, you might be thinking, "What do I know about good BBQ?". To be fair, I'm not claiming to be a BBQ expert. But I do know I've had BBQ at other well-known spots around the Bay Area and even in Texas that was much more flavorful, juicy, and moist. FOOD: 7/10 A lot of us ordered brisket-based dishes, and unfortunately, the brisket was pretty dry. Even after dipping it in their BBQ sauce, it was still dry, the sauce mainly just added flavor. For my sides, I got the potato salad and coleslaw. The potato salad was good! The coleslaw, however, was pretty mid. It mostly tasted like plain cabbage and could've used a bit more flavor. The cornbread had a nice, slightly toasted exterior, but the inside was very dry and crumbly, making each bite fall apart. I was especially excited to try the banana pudding because I'd been craving it for the longest time, and thankfully, it didn't disappoint. It had that classic creamy pudding texture, the vanilla wafers were perfectly soft, the whipped cream was smooth, and overall I really enjoyed it. SERVICE: 9/10 Ordering is done through a QR code on your phone, and the staff brings everything out to you. We had barely submitted our order when our drinks and dessert arrived, and our entrées followed shortly after. Everything came out surprisingly fast. We also had the chance to meet Juju, who is Jackie's cousin (Jackie is the owner and chef). If you look at the menu, there's actually a section featuring Juju's specialty teas and juices. She was honestly the sweetest and funniest person. I absolutely adored her! She was so fun to chat with and shared that a lot of well-known Bay Area names have stopped by Jackie's, including LaRussell, E-40, and members of the 49ers. It was such a nice interaction and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. AMBIANCE: 7/10 The restaurant is simple and spacious with plenty of different seating options. If you're looking to grab a drink, they also have a bar area. The restrooms are downstairs. The sink and toilet were kind of going through it but they got the job done. There's parking available both upstairs and downstairs. Just be careful because the parking spaces are pretty tight and narrow. Overall, I can definitely see why people enjoy this place, but for me, the BBQ just didn't live up to the hype. I'm glad I got to try it for myself. It was definitely a situation where you need to try it for yourself despite the reviews.

My sister wanted bbq for her birthday and so we opted for this place. i loved they way that it was decorated. it's like a bar and bbq served in one place. Since i've never been here before i was really surprised by their portion sizes. it was well worth the money spent and picking up was easy too. super nice guys who helped me. i was a bit confused on what kind of sauces they had. the person who helped me gave me a run down and explained their sauces. they also gave me some samples to try to take home as welll. by far i think id have to agree that their tin roof sauce is the best sauce my sister even wanted to know if she could just buy their bbq sauce. other then that we ordered roughly a good portion of bbq- pulled pork, cheddar cheese jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, and ribs. our sides were the cajun rice, green beans, cole slaw and corn succatash. would probably love to come back for their lunch special one of these days.

There is beer, wine, liquor inside. Longer benches for families and friends. This place rocked it for me. I am from the Bay but live in San Diego now, have kids and stuff. Came with another family and the kids just had so much fun running around. The dude and I had fun playing golf, wife and her friend had fun chatting on the side. The food here is excellent. I wouldn't say its the best BBQ in the states but it's certainly better than anything in San Diego. I simply got the chicken tacos and a couple glasses of wine. The chicken tacos were great, flavorful, well seasoned. They're a bit steep at $23 for 3 tacos but well sized and worth it. Whenever I'm vising from out of town and have family with me we'll likely stop here. It's great.
