Went to Hmart for the first time and ended up eating here. Area was clean and the food was really good and the wait wasn't that long. Pricing is about what you would expect to pay so it was worth it. Food 3/5: We've tried the majority of the menu here and the food isn't something we'd come out of the way for, but it's decent for what it is! Pork katsu is a bit dry and thin, breading immediately falls off when you pick up a piece. Kimchi rice is probably the best part but it's a bit bland. Banchan is overly sweet, but somehow it still compliments the meal. The seafood tofu soup is comforting but lacks a lot of the flavor I've come to love from SGD Tofu House or Enjoy Seoul. Ambiance 3/5: The dining area is spacious and there are plenty of dining tables. I've come at numerous times and never had a problem finding a seat. The dining area is usually tidy as long as people pick up after themselves. Sometimes they have ear splitting, loud music on, so loud that the staff can't hear me when taking my order. This is actually one of my highly rated Asian fast foods food court. It's because everything looks and tastes delicious, seriously. Before the pandemic, it would cost me just under $15/$16 for an order of Korean beef bibimbap, taxes and tips included. Comes with the purple rice, kimchi, red sauce, and soup. Today, it cost me under $20 including taxes/fees and tips for the exact same order. San Jose city tax is no joke. Still, it was excellent. They will announce and call out your order number at the front counter. Sit wherever you want. After you finish eating, bring your tray to the tray cabinet area directly across from the cashier area. Staff is very friendly and they do clean up on the hour. Very comfortable. Most importantly, food is good. I had the tofu soups before, but didn't like it as much as the beef bibimbap. You can try other set meals too. I am still very happy here on weekday mornings when there are no crowds or too many people inside the food dining area. Restrooms are convenient. Great place to stop before or after grocery shopping at the Korean HMart grocery store which is also a 5-stars rating since they have everything you really need. If the area was larger, they could potentially have more Korean fast food booths here and become very successful at operating here. I always enjoy good Korean foods, so with future added Korean fried chicken, sushi, Jjamppong, mandoo, and maybe ice cream or yogurt, I will keep coming back. This review is very long overdue! We have been eating at BBQ town as an occasional treat for the past 2 years and it is honestly the best Korean food in the entire South Bay! The Kimchi Fried Rice is second to none, so flavorful, perfect amount of toastiness, spiciness, and slightly buttery flavor. The Dolsot Bibimbap is also perfect, very fresh ingredients and such tender beef! The fried Pork Cutlet is also perfect, so tender and moist with perfectly crispy breading. Their Beef Bulgogi is tender and perfectly seasoned as well. But it is not just how well they make their main dishes that matters, even their bonchon and basic rice is so delicious showing a pride in everything they do that is very rare in a stand-alone restaurant let alone a food court "kiosk". My kids especially love their seaweed soup (Miyeokguk); they should definitely sell as a side dish as it is so hearty and delicious. If you are in San Jose near Berryessa (or even if you are not near that area) be sure to give BBQ Town a try, it is not to be missed! read more

FYI -- After a certain time in the day, their items are discounted heavily (I got a bowl for $3.99 once in the early evening). I typically get the $8.99 plate that has a fried egg, kimchi fried rice, japchae, oi muchim, fishcake, and teriyaki chicken. I like that the egg tends to be more on the over easy/medium side. The kimchi fried rice is very tasty, and so are the other sides. My personal favorites are the japchae + fishcake! I would honestly say that the food here could be compared neck to neck with other Korean restaurants that charge higher price points.
