Food was decent. We ordered the surf and turf burrito and the surf and turf fries. The burrito lacked flavor. No fuss place. Small and quaint. Cashier was friendly. It's not a five star place for me. It's a normal local taco spot with decent pricing. I will not return.

I finally decided to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews. The restaurant is small but, clean and the cashier was really friendly. I ordered the Birria plate which comes with beans, rice, 3 corn tortillas, onion and cilantro plus the consome. My son ordered 2 Birria tacos with a side of consome. The beef was tender and had great flavor. The portion is also generous and the beans and rice were also delicious. Their Agua frescas were perfect and refreshing. I absolutely recommend you check them out.

By the way, this place is located in a large plaza shopping center. Rene, the charismatic staff member who greeted me, guided me toward the Surf and Turf Fries--"one of our most popular dishes," he promised. I took the bait, and I'm glad I did. What arrived was a feast of contrasts and comfort: perfectly crisp fries buried beneath tender, char-grilled asada and crowned with plump, garlic-kissed shrimp. A verdant drizzle of creamy green salsa and a generous layer of melted cheese tied it all together into a bold, unapologetic bite of coastal street food indulgence. To wash it down? A large cup of Jamaica, refreshingly tart and vibrant, cutting through the richness like a breeze on a summer day. This is the kind of place you come back to--not just for the food, but for the soul it serves. Next visit, I have my sights set on the birria. If the fries are any indication, I'm in for something special.

I was looking for a breakfast place in Covina and checked Yelp, decided to give them a try. My son and I came in on a Saturday around 11am. There was only one table taken, very clean and you can either order on a tablet or at the counter. The lady who took out order was friendly and explained her most popular items. We choose the birria quesadilla with a small consomé, chilaquiles verdes con huevo, agua de horchata and an agua mitad de pepino y mitad piña as as she recommended. The service was fast, food taste fresh. The chilaquiles were too soggy for my liking. I prefer crunchy tortilla chips, the salsa was ok- not spicy and the egg wasn't scrambled as I asked for. Rice and beans were good. The birria quesadillas was decent, nothing out of this world. The horchata was not good, it tasted powdery - it kind of tasted like a gelatina. The agua de pepino mix was good. Refreshing and not too sweet. I don't think I would be coming back here. I wasn't very impressed.

I just found this place and I'm glad I did. The quesabirria tacos at Fuego Cravings Covina were really good -- crispy on the outside, cheesy, and packed with flavorful meat. They tasted fresh, had a great balance of texture and flavor, and the salsa on the side added a perfect kick. Definitely a solid spot worth coming back to if you're craving good quesabirria tacos

Have been coming here for 1-2 years and usually always get the fuego fries with birria & a birria burrito ! Wasn't able to write a review yet because every time we go we pig out because it's so good! Fuego fries come with cheese and jalepeños, and your side of meat. 10/10 hits the spot for something snackish but also fills you up!

I feel bad abt writing this because Milady was suuuupeer great but unfortunately I usually write about the food so I can rememeber the places we'll go back to or not.. so here it is... We ordered: 1. Street taco plate (pick 3 meats) which consists of: A. Rice = undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Some were hard and some were super soft... tasted good but cook was inconsistent B. Beans = hubby liked it. Balanced taste and cooked well C. Chips = crunchy and fresh. Seasoned inconsistently but still good D. Chicken tacos = i liked it. Nothing extraordinary. Seasoned okay with hint of lemon, cooked evenly throughout. E. Al pastor = cooked evenly but lacked the usual pineapple taste / sweet taste. Decent. F. Asada = bland and tough. You'll see in the pic how it's pale looking.. 2. Shrimp tacos = hubby didn't like it.. I liked it coz it was salty and the sauce made it a bit sweet then fresh coz of cabbage. It was decent. 3. Birria in tostada = hubby was disappointed coz he said that birria is usually a bit red/orange and never bland.. the birria was pale and bland like boiled meat... I've read a bunch of reviews abt how great this place is, so hopefully today was just an off day.. but again, thank you Milady, ure so awesome!

I was looking for a place to meet up with my friend that was visiting her brother in Covina and saw that Fuego was pretty close to her. First thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the aguas frescas. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I ordered quesa birria tacos, my daughter ordered birria ramen and my friend ordered a mulita de birria. The birria was so good, it had so much flavor. I got an agua de horchata and the size of the mason jar was pretty big. The guy at the counter was super friendly and kept asking if we were doing ok. The place has a few tables and they had the tv on playing a movie. I will be back to try the rest of the food on the menu. Hidden gem for sure.

Fuego!!! I love the surf and turf tacos. I also tried the quesabirria, birria taco, fish taco, surf and turf burrito, and Covina burrito. They were alright. My whole party agreed that the surf and turf tacos are the best. We are honestly not really birria fans but it seems that a lot of people like it and it's clearly popular here. Service was great. I got a few cups of water and borrowed a bottle of salsa. The place is nice and clean. The complex is not busy and the restaurant was not crowded, although I came around 8:00 PM on a Thursday and around 2:00 PM on a Friday so that may be different on a Friday or Saturday around 7 PM. My critiques would be: the "sour cream sauce" and "guacamole sauce" are a bit watery, and the Covina burrito had too much rice and beans. But the surf and turf tacos make up for that. I'd come back just for the surf and turf tacos. The prices and portions are good for me, especially compared to where I'm from - the San Francisco bay area.

I've been seeing this place on DoorDash and had it bookmarked for a while. I finally decided to give it a shot, but I don't understand the raving reviews? We ordered 2 green chilaquiles bowls (one w/ asada and the other w/ pastor) and the surf & turf fries - to go. The chilaquiles were soggy and flavorless. The description for the surf & turf fries stated that they were "crispy" and "seasoned." However, they fries were plain, soft and bland; no crisp whatsoever. Overall, after spending $45, we were super disappointed.

i eat birria like once a year because i crave so much and then become sooo full of it lol usually always order the birria taco with cheese but why not go big! with the birria pizza -- comes with 2 consume and packed with flavor. honestly rly good proportions of protein and cheese and the soup always yommy i can drink on its own ~ also the staff here is very friendly and helpful :-)

We were craving some birria and found this place with great reviews. We came in at around 5-6PM on a weekend on found it pretty empty, but was kindly introduced and told how to order with the wait staff. We got a total of 9 birria tacos with some consome along with a horchata drink to wash it all down. I personally mainly enjoyed the horchata, it was nicely sweetened without being overly powering and was a pleasure the drinks. The birria tacos to me were a bit dry (making the consome a must buy if you are ganna try these), and felt a bit smaller than I would expect for 5$ a taco, but otherwise they were a decent snack. Definitely loved the consome tho so would be interested in trying their other options like their ramen. Otherwise, was a nice small homey feel with decent food.

Me and my mom decided to come in today and all I can say is wow this food is amazing and the agua frescas are so good we got the fresas con crema one and it's so yummy. We love tacos and are always trying new places. Fuego's fit the bill today. It's located in a strip mall and the exterior is not terribly inviting, perhaps too dark and closed off. The interior is more of the same. Dark colors and lacks decor. The menu is on the opposite wall from the cashier. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The food is good but their street tacos only have one tortilla. They use yellow corn tortillas and as a preference I prefer white corn tortillas but not a deal breaker. All and all a good start. read more

Good food for the drinking craving. Got the quesabirrias and the soft taco (combo) plates. They were skimpy on the rice and beans. Both plates were great except for the skimpy sides. Got a side of papa tacos and they tasted good but they were a bit soggy-would not get again. The cucumber lemonade was on point. The girl working was kind and knowledgeable and told us she just started working at that location, she'd come from Upland originally. I ordered a birria Buritto with 4oz. consome with my co-nurses. The taste is alright, been to many birria places I guess. The size of the buritto is large and its full of beans and rice. The meat is all the way to the middle and it ends there. I got what I paid for too I guess for $11. read more

My wife and I are Foodies that love to try new spots so we happen to find this spot some what local to us so we stopped by its located next to CVS on Azusa Ave. So we are greeted by the girl upfront her name is Emili and she's one of the nicest people we have been helped by in a long time she recommended the birria queso tacos AMAZING I made it a special . my wife got the covina burrito and this was a Big tasty asada with el pastor burrito . Emili is very attentive and super friendly not many people work with a positive attitude and even suggested items to get..whoever the owner is you picked the perfect person to work the Front ,We will be back and wish we took pictured of the food but it was too good to stop and take a picture...stop by and let me know what you think. read more

So do with that as you will. Locals must think this is good food. Located in a tiny corner strip mall on a desolate street is this little breakfast/brunch place. I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews and not gone in. I especially wish I had seen that Yelp had their health listing rated at C before I ordered. Isn't it the law that a restaurant must display their health rating in the window, cause it wasn't displayed anywhere to be seen. So first they brought out a large jug of water with some fruit slices and mint in it. Would've been nice if the water wasn't room temperature. Is the ice machine not working? Then came the best part of the entire meal - my hazelnut latte. The coffee was good and the cup is gigantic. My teen had the french toast, eggs (scrambled), and bacon plate. The one slice of french toast was okay but nothing special. The eggs were bland and lacking any seasoning including salt and pepper. The bacon, of which I got a side for myself, too, was absolutely disgusting. At first I thought the bacon had been cooked possibly on a dirty grill in old grease or right after something else had been cooked, as it had a horrendous aftertaste like rotten meat and sweaty gym socks. They made a new plate but this one was raw, despite being ordered well done and crispy. Raw. And it absolutely stunk. That was when I came to think it might be uncured pork belly like you get a Korean KBBQ and not bacon at all. Luckily they cancelled the order. I also got a side of the breakfast (rosemary) potatoes, which I also ordered crispy and well done but arrived as a scoop of mush. They tasted okay but I saw crispy potatoes at numerous other tables. Don't know why they couldn't cook as ordered. I also had the dutch baby. I'm sorry but this is a dessert bread pudding and not a real dutch baby pancake. The inside should be airy and fluffy, not sopping wet. I'm not sure if the inside was undercooked and possibly raw dough or if they make it with some sweetened cream inside. It was not good, and it was way too sweet. Instant diabetes sweet. I will never go back. I strongly recommend that all people stay as far away as possible. The service was good - friendly and attentive, but what good is that when the food is so awful? I also had severe stabbing pains in my stomach for a couple hours after getting home. Avoid at all costs!

Families stay away from here all booths are wobbly and not secure, the spot is filthy. If something happens the staff is going to keep acting like they saw nothing. Better off going to McDonald's.

Oh my goodness an absolute must. The focaccia was airy and delicious, and the butter was out of this world. I could honestly eat that by itself. I also loved the pickled sweet peppers that accompanied it. The broccolini was cooked to perfection, served in a generous portion, and was somehow a vegetable that even my six-year-old happily ate. Speaking of my six-year-old, he ordered the kids' red spaghetti, which was honestly one of the best children's spaghetti dishes I have ever tasted. It was flavorful, clearly made with quality ingredients, and far exceeded expectations for a kids' meal. My husband and I shared the torchietti with pork ragù. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a delicious, well-balanced flavor and generous pieces of pork throughout. The house-made ricotta added a rich creaminess that complemented the dish beautifully. We also had the rigatoni pesto with pistachios and burrata. The crunch from the pistachios paired wonderfully with the creaminess of the burrata, while the basil pesto tied everything together. Another delicious dish. My husband ordered a peach cocktail, which he described as perfectly balanced. To finish the evening, we shared a scoop of their house-made vanilla ice cream and a large slice of chocolate cake. The ice cream was velvety, not overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the cake. The dark chocolate provided great balance without being too rich, and although the cake appeared dense at first glance, it still had a surprising lightness to it. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a true neighborhood gem, and I am excited to have it so close to home.

The street tacos were perfectly seasoned, loaded with flavor, and served on soft, warm tortillas that hit just right. The quesadilla de birria was next-level--oozing with cheese, packed with juicy birria, and paired with a rich consomé that had us dipping until the last bite. And don't even get me started on the torta de milanesa... crispy, tender, and stacked with all the right toppings. Every bite was a flavor bomb. But the real surprise? The aguas frescas. The crunch and spice from the Hot Cheetos paired perfectly with the fresh, savory fillings. I also had the quesabirria, shrimp taco, and a street taco, and each one was absolutely delicious. Despite being labeled as Covina, it contained shrimp and beef, which was definitely not what we expected. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for us. I totally loved it they literally have the best Birria and I think it's the best tasting quick Mexican food I've ever tried in years!
