    tacos
    Amanda L.

Very solid tacos. The salsas are really solid and flavorful. They only take cash so make sure you bring some. It took a little bit for the tacos to come out but not bad maybe about 10-15 minutes. Some were too greasy for me but all pretty flavorful. I was pretty impressed.

Fuel City Tacos in Dallas was busy even at 2:45 AM, with about 15 people in line and a 20-minute wait for food. I ordered the barbacoa and chicken fajita tacos. Unfortunately, about half of the barbacoa was fat, which was disappointing, and the chicken fajita was bland and lacking flavor. Overall, these felt like tacos best suited for inebriated late-night cravings rather than quality dining. On the plus side, there was plenty of security and police presence, and the view from the walk-up window appeared fairly clean.

It's basically a rite of passage to get tacos from Fuel City. I've lived in DFW for almost 10 years and have no clue why it took me this long. One random Saturday, we decided to head south and stopped at Fuel City. Note that the taco stand is cash only. I ordered Piccadillo and carne asada tacos and also picked up a cup of elote from the little stand out front. We ended up eating our tacos on the tailgate with the Dallas skyline as our view. Super simple but honestly so perfect. After that we wandered behind the car wash to go look at the longhorns and a couple of donkeys just chilling in the Texas sun. Idk why we waited so long to do this but it was such a cute, inexpensive little date idea. Also this gas station has the BEST snacks, stuff you won't find anywhere near us. If you're ever driving around DFW and see a Fuel City, stop and get some street tacos 24/7. The Piccadillo was my favorite!

a joint wrapper cooked into my quesadilla

I am absolutely disgusted and furious. I found a literal joint cooked inside my quesadilla. Not near the food. Not on the tray. IN the food. I had it in my mouth and had to pull it out before swallowing. That is beyond unacceptable that is a serious health and safety violation. I immediately tried calling the restaurant multiple times to report what happened and request a refund, and no one would pick up the phone. The complete lack of accountability on top of something this extreme is unreal. If you're cooking drugs into customers' food and then dodging calls, that tells me everything I need to know about how this place is run. This isn't funny. This isn't a "mistake." This is unsanitary, dangerous, and honestly shocking. I will be contacting the health department because customers should not have to worry about foreign objects let alone drugs being cooked into their meals. I will never eat here again and strongly urge others to reconsider before risking their health.

Solid tacos from the hole in the wall taco place in the front of Fuel City. Easy parking in the gas station. We tried the carnitas and pastor, both so good, good quality toasty tortillas. There was an elote stand right next door that serves a DELICIOUS elote (get the mayo and lemon).

My usual stop for some breakfast tacos when heading to S. Dallas. It's a little tricky to get there from the highway. But worth the detour. They are tasty and full of flavor. The Pastor are my favorite on corn tortillas with salsa. They also have lunch/dinner tacos in late hours. You can order at the window or go inside. Cash only. Worth a stop for some authentic street style tacos! Don't forget a pic with Sasquatch!

If you know, you know! The best street tacos you'll find in DFW are inside this gas station. Pro tip: there's an inside counter to order too if the outside one has a line. PS it's cash only. Pick up a drink at the gas station & have yourself a reliably amazing meal every time.

Back in town again and so stopping by FCT is a must. They have tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. When you order you choose type of meat (see menu pic), corn or flour tortilla, and add or drop cilantro and onions (grilled or raw). They have breakfast tacos/burritos in the morning too. Quality is still great. Parking is to the right of the station. The second row has Tesla chargers now. There is still a stand that sells Mexican street corn. The neighborhood is still pretty bad. Consequently, recommend you either eat in your car or take it to go rather than use the outdoor seating. Besides the tourists and business people, most of the people in line and milling around the station look like pretty rough characters.

    Picadillo and Barbacoa Tacos

It was a bit chaotic and the gas station is always busy, but it is so worth it! The tacos are cheap and SO good! I tried the picadillo and the barbacoa and both were amazing! You will also want to order from the elote cart! Make sure you have cash! If not, they do have an ATM outside of the gas station.

I was in Dallas and had to make a stop for my favorite picadillo tacos!!! Parking was what you'd expect at a popular gas station and I needed gas so I was at the pump. I placed my order and picked up a cup of the best street corn while my good was being prepared. A few minutes later my tacos were ready and what I love is that I've never had an issue with getting my order exactly as ordered!!! When I say these are the best picadillo tacos I've ever had...I really wish I could find a comparable place in the Katy area. If you're ever in Dallas near downtown, be sure to check out Fuel City, you won't regret it!

This was quite standard for a convenience store and gas station. Inside, ice cold beer even at 10:30 am, coffee, coolers with drinks and snacks. But you're not here for that. You're here for the Fuel City Tacos, which I was told are the best tacos in Texas. We'll find out soon enough. Good parking but it's a big city and it's close to downtown so be sure your doors are locked, especially at night. Be aware of your surroundings and people walking towards you. I got a cold bottle of water to enjoy with the tacos. [Review 764 of 2024 - 523 in Texas - 21795 overall]

Believe it or not this gas station has a decent authentic walk up taco place attached!! Very simple tacos and this place is cash only. Check it out.

Fuel city has the best tacos! After a long day of work, after a long night night of turn up , you can always count on fuel city tacos . They are the best juicy, flavorful tacos ever!

Unfortunately, our last two visits have been highly disappointing, and I wanted to bring this to your attention. During our visit today, we noticed a significant drop in the quality of the ribeye steak. The meat was tough, chewy, and lacked flavor. Given how frequently we dine here, the change was highly noticeable. Have you recently changed your meat providers or specifications for this cut? Additionally, as someone who works within a restaurant group, I must express concern regarding your beverage pricing. The current rates for water and soda are exceptionally high--to the point where my team now opts out of purchasing drinks entirely. I strongly encourage you to consider adjusting these to a more reasonable rate, or at the very least, proactively offering complimentary iced tap water. We truly love your restaurant and want to continue supporting you. I share this feedback in the spirit of helping your kitchen maintain its excellent standards. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Chris L.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The two Chilangos locations I've been to are both located in strip malls with a bright, neon "Chilangos Tacos" sign above the entrance. Inside, there's reggaeton music, tons of patrons, and ESL here. Once you place your order, grab a Jarritos, a bright red metal seat, and watch the staff cook your tacos to order. 1 Star. Service - The staff are very friendly and efficient. It really helps if you speak Spanish, so go with someone who does, or point to the menu item you want. Once you place your order, grab a seat and wait for your name to be called. The staff is super nice and efficient, and our order was available in about 5 min. 1 Star. Food - Birria Quesatacos with consume. Memorize it and order it. Kudos to my son who swears by this dish. I am now a believer. The tender seasoned shredded birria beef is so flavorful. The quesataco style melts the cheese into the corn tortilla. And when you take some diced onion and cilantro to top it, dunk it in the consume before biting into the most flavorful taco served in DFW. According to the menu, this dish is only available on the weekend, but I've used food deliver services to get my consume fix during the week so YMMV. Bottom line, it's not just the best item on the menu, it's the best taco bite in all of DFW. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Chilango Tacos is expanding in DFW. There are now multiple locations in all of DFW so there should be a location near you. Chilangos Tacos is now in my weekly rotation. 1 Star.

The surrounding neighborhood, however, was a pleasant surprise. It's a trendy, energetic pocket of Dallas that I had somehow never explored before, and it immediately caught my attention. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming. If I'm being honest, it didn't exactly scream "come on in." On this particular night, there was only one employee working. It took nearly 10 minutes just to place my order and another 15 minutes before the food arrived. By that point, I was more than a little annoyed. Then the tacos showed up. Talk about a complete plot twist. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the flavors were absolutely unbelievable. Whenever I visit a taco spot, I like to order a variety so I can get a sense of what they're really capable of. This time it was the al pastor, carne asada, and Baja tacos. One word....incredible. I can't tell you which one was best! I've had great tacos before. I've had places nail one or two selections. But I honestly can't remember the last time three completely different tacos all delivered a perfect punch in a single sitting. Every bite was packed with flavor, expertly balanced, and memorable in its own way. Without question, this was the best taco trio I've ever had. What a roller coaster of a visit. I went from feeling completely ignored and wondering if I'd made a mistake, to wanting to walk back into the kitchen and hug the chef.
