Came near the end of the day on Sunday, and I got the ube and crunchy cream malasadas. Both were fluffy and still fresh. The cream were both not too sweet although I could have used a bit more of the cream. The crunch was not as crunchy but perhaps because it was towards the end of the day.

We spent about $24 or so on 4 croissants, 2 regular 2 flavored and a malasada. The croissants were really flakey and really good, very fresh. The ham and cheese croissant wasn't our favorite, didn't really have much ham in it and it's definitely small, but the chocolate almond croissant was delicious, just small compared to the pricing for sure. The strawberry malasada was alright, the filling tasted artificial so I wouldn't go that route again. Service was quick and friendly.

This bakery is a kind of big deal among locals. Anyone who knows the Seattle scene and gives good, solid recommendations will always have this place in their list. It's in the heart of the ID (International District) and the corner shop locations has plenty of window viewing so you can easily look to see what appeals to you. The malasadas are a culinary staple. The crunchy cereal malasadas with the cream is done right. The cream inside is light and only slightly sweet. The bread is light and airy and the exterior sugar and cereal counting help provide a nice texture. Truly a fave for me was the s'mores croissant. It was flaky, packed big on chocolate flavor, and just fun to eat and enjoy with the marshmallow and graham cracker. One of the best things about this bakery is that their offerings are always fresh. You can't pick a bad item here. Service is easy as it's a walk up window and just place your order and they box and bag everything up for you.

Before heading to Mt Rainier, we stopped by here to pick up some baked goods for our hike! I got the tonkatsu sandwich, egg sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, crunchy creamy malasada, ube malasada, and beef curry. Our favorite was the ube malasada! The malasada was so soft and the ube flavor was lovely. Maybe it's because we had that one first, so the donut was still fluffy. The tonkatsu was a close second!

Cute Bakery in the corner of Chinatown. It's a to go only spot with no seating but plenty of delicious pastries. It's a quick order and get your stuff and go. The staff is kind and welcoming and the food is delicious. So far all the danishes are my favorite I think the blueberry one would be my number one but they are all delicious. The malasada is also pretty good but it would definitely have to be the blueberry Danish that's my number one. The prices is also pretty good for each item not too expensive and you can get a lot of treats under five bucks each.

The service was very fast and the pastries delicious. This is the quintessential Japanese/French bakery. There's an order window and no seating. My favorite baked good was the almond croissant

I was craving something quick and sweet after my late lunch and Fuji bakery hit the spot! They serve donuts in a no-frills to-go window counter. I picked up the ube malasada. It had a light crunch from the sugar coating, fluffy texture, with a creamy subtly ube filling. I think the broche in the donut was a tad dry, but I did get it around 4pm. I also would've preferred a stronger ube flavor. Overall, the service was quick and friendly with tasty donuts. I wouldn't get this exact donut again as I found it pricey for the quality I got, but it was worth a try!

This is a small, hole-in-the-wall bakery tucked on a corner and easy to miss if it weren't for the long morning lines and the tempting display of pastries in the window. We tried the matcha donut and the crunchy cream donut. My friends loved the crunchy cream one for its sweetness and texture, while I preferred the matcha donut as it was less sweet, with a smooth matcha cream filling that was perfectly balanced. Highly recommend trying both here!

Good variety of desserts, highly recommend the malasadas. The ube tastes authentic, and the vanilla had a good crunch coating. Currently they are a "order to go" situation with no indoor seating (order though a window). But they're located in a cute area easy for walking.

I kept reading about this bakery - so many different places. So, of course, I had to go. Itʻs in Chinatown and near the Union Station. (Union Station is worth going in and seeing the amazing re-built architecture. A sign said that it is supposed to mimic a roman bath.) The bakery is on the corner of a building with the items for sale visible along the edges of two sides of the building and they basically sell out of a window. The items are both traditional and modern, Asian takes on various French pastries (as well as malasadas which I associate with Hawaii or Portuguese food). There were so many things I wanted that it was hard to choose just two. I chose the matcha cruffin, although there was a matcha malasada. This was not too sweet and not bitter as matcha can be. I also liked how it looked. The other item I purchased was a red bean paste malasada. The filling was also not too sweet and ample. I liked the sugar coating, even though the ones I have had at many bakeries do not have a coating. I would definitely go back.

Cheap but tasty donuts. I have literally never gotten anything from here that I didn't love from any location. I do with they had a few more vegan or dairy free options but it's definitely worth taking my allergy pills for their pastries. The service is always friendly and efficient. This is a to go window only - no seating or indoor space.

If you guys work in the area near Chinatown this is one of the few places that opens early and has been around for quite awhile. They don't have any seating it's more of a front store and you order to go. I got the hojicha latte added a shot to it. Overall everything was good and wanted to try their egg sandwich and it was good bread was a little dry but the center was just amazing. I finish that in like two seconds and they always have good pastries. We usually stop by here to bring baked goods to work.

I love this storefront bakery so much, and have been going here for quite a while since the time when the pandemic started to ease in 2022. Back then it was to have some of their lattes which I found pretty good. For this visit, I had one of their malasadas. This was on a Saturday noon, and when I got here there was already quite a long line but it went by quickly. There's no seating at this place; it's all grab and go. Other than malasadas and lattes, they also have cakes, danishes, pain suisse and other pastries, with many people grabbing their olive breads the day I went. I've tried their red bean azuki malasadas before and since I needed a stomach for an event later that day, I got just one lilikoi malasada. It's a passion fruit flavored malasada, and my current picture of it doesn't do it justice at all. It was creamy and wasn't a sour taste in my mouth. There was a good amount of filling inside my donut, and flavor profile wasn't overly strong. There's a ton of sugar on top as expected of malasadas, but this place knows how to make their fillings a little weaker in taste strongness to compensate for that. If you're not into the long lines or overly sweetened malasadas/brioche donuts that The Flour Box has, this is the perfect alternative.

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. I wanted a pain au chocolat, not an almond pain au chocolat. Sorry! AMBIANCE - 4/5 A very busy bakery/café located at Pike Place Market, near Starbucks. I liked the wall décor and the overall cozy vibe. Finding an empty seat may be a challenge? KOUIGN-AMANN/PAIN AU CHOCOLAT/MERINGUE - 2/5 Kouign-amann - 0/5 It pained me to give a kouign-amann such a low score, especially because it is my all-time favorite pastry. But this one was so subpar that I could not even finish it. It was, frankly, a complete waste of butter, flour, sugar and labor. I once lodged a complaint with a GM and Director of F&B at a certain Ritz-Carlton because their kouign-amanns were so bad that I asked them to stop whoever was making them. Since then, there has been a huge improvement, and that is what genuine feedback should accomplish. Pastry integrity is of utmost importance, and pastry crime is hardly forgivable. Pain au Chocolat - 2/5 Doughy and deeply disappointing. I simply cannot reconcile this with the fact that Le Panier has supposedly been a beloved fixture of Seattle's food scene since 1983. MERINGUE -- 5/5 Can anyone possibly mess up a meringue?? It is extremely disappointing to visit what is supposed to be a legendary, quintessential French bakery in Seattle, only to find that the two pastries I was most looking forward to, the kouign-amann and pain au chocolat, were both such letdowns. A café/bakery cannot survive on service and ambiance alone. The pastries have to deliver too. Time to rehone the baking skills, Le Panier.

There weren't any other customers inside and we were greeted with an empty display case in the front. While barren, the owner, a gruff* French gentlemen, confirmed that he still had choux pastry left with a choice of either vanilla, coconut, pistachio, or hazelnut. We decided to go with the pistachio, which he assembled fresh for us, first by piping pistachio cream inside the choux shell, then dipping in melted chocolate and sprinkling pistachio on top. Pistachio Choux ($6) - The choux is excellent, baked until deliciously crisp on the exterior while the inside remains soft, eggy, and tender. Since it's fresh filled and we ate it right afterwards, the cream never migrated to saturate the crust - I suspect people with issues with mushiness probably let the cream puff sit too long before consuming. The cream, which is piped to the brim, pushes out against the delicate shell, causing each bite to almost squirt out a bit of the luscious, silky whipped custard. The cream coats the lips and mouth with a layer of fat. It's not too sweet and has a light nutty pistachio flavor. The melted chocolate the top is dipped into glues on all of the pistachio dip. The chocolate is slightly bitter, yet sweet, so it helps cut through some of the rich silkiness of the cream. The pistachios on top act like a crumble, perhaps pulverized and melded with butter to create a very rich yet pistachio forward mix. It's strongly flavored, and the chocolate creates such a strong cement that none of the nuts detach while eating. (5/5) Panterelli was a huge surprise as it wasn't even on our radar until we walked past the shop randomly while exploring the Farmers Market. It's a definite revisit in the future! *The owner isn't nearly as welcoming as a typical American small business owner, but is certainly friendly and eager to chat. Food is amazing...they have sweet and savory goods. I don't think they have sandwiches but could be wrong. Coffee is good too. Service is pretty quick even though there is a long line outside sometimes. So don't let that long line hold you back.

They offered the item on both days this weekend and again I missed it on Saturday. I asked the front person what time I should get to the bakery in order not to miss it, and she recommended that I come in right at the opening. She said they ran out of it some time past 11am on Saturday, so it seems like they don't necessarily go flying off the counter immediately. Although I was curious, I still wasn't sure if I'd make it in time for opening at 8am the next day. But I was housesitting nearby and the dog woke me up at 6:30 begging to go on a walk. Not wanting to waste the fact that I woke up early on a Sunday, I decided to not go back to bed but head to the bakery at 8am. I arrived like 2-3 minutes before opening and was surprised to see there were already more than ten people lined up at the bakery. Having worked a retail job, my coworkers and I get annoyed when people start lining up before opening, so I tried my best to arrive right on time. But the line was a bit much. Anyways, I respect that everyone working at the bakery doesn't seem one bit offended by the crowd and are so nice to the customers. Consequently, I'm glad I went for the Maritozzi. It was really good. But if it's this difficult to get one then I probably won't go for it again.
