    Hibachi Chicken with Fried Rice.

Had dinner tonight and it was very good! My wife and I shared the Hibachi Grilled Chicken. Service was good and friendly.

Came here on Valentine's Day for lunch. There wasn't anyone there since they had just opened. I wanted to eat before getting my tattoo down the street. I ordered a miso soup, with Yellowtail nigiri and a yum yum roll. I just took the spicy sauce off. The person I went with ordered crab Rangoon and the Philly cheese steak egg roll. Food was brought out quickly. It just took a moment to get the check since both people were on the phone taking orders. The restaurant itself is very nice. It's in the Publix plaza. I had always seen the location when passing by, I just never had a chance to go until now. I would definitely go back. The only change I would make is having more raw rolls and less deep fried/tempura rolls. All in all, everything tasted great. The restroom was also clean when I went. I also enjoyed the decor on the wall too. Very traditional.

I cannot believe that I didn't know about this unassuming AMAZING little place until this evening! The inside can best be described as cozy and quaint, the staff is super friendly and attentive, and the portions are HUGE! The Agedashi Tofu is fried extra crunchy on the outside whilst perfectly soft and smooth inside, the veggie combo roll is exquisitely crunchy and cooling, and the Tofu Hibachi is to die for! Whenever I'm on Normandy Blvd from now on and want Japanese food I will come here..

The sushi rolls tasted great and were flavorful and crunchy. They were made kind of sloppy though and were falling apart easily. I got the steak teriyaki medium rare but it was cooked well done. The vegetables that came with my meal just weren't that good. I probably won't come back.

    Lumpia roll

I stumbled upon Tokyo Sushi when I hit up Yelp one day to find me a joint near my house to tackle one of my random intense sushi cravings. Now...yes, I eat alot (think metric tons, not pounds) of sushi...but I'm "one of those" that pretty much orders the same items from place to place, so I'm not gonna throw a review out for somewhere unless I feel that either 1. you absolutely need to try it or 2. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Atmosphere: Now...although the name DOES say "sushi and grill," this isn't one of those joints where the chef is flipping eggs into his hat or making volcanos out of onion stacks. It's a small, bare bones joint thats not shooting to be a tourist attraction, so basically think sushi and hibachi without all the "cheese." Food: Let me start by saying that theres lumpia on the menu. YASSSS BOO. Lumpia. For those of you that have yet to dive into the life-changing experience called a lumpia, I guess it could best be described as a "filipino eggroll." If you show up to ANY party or gathering with a pan of lumpia in hand...you are immediately crowned a culinary God, and swarmed by a mob of eager fans. The lumpia here is...shockingly pretty delish! Nice crispy texture on the outside, with a good amount of tasty meaty filling, and a heavenly dipping sauce. The meat could have used just a tad more seasoning, but overall it was a hit. My sweet potato roll was perfectly prepared, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunch in every delectable bite. Chicken tempura roll also did not disappoint and paired so well with the scrumptious shrimp sauce. I'll be coming here at least once a week to pay homage to my love for great sushi. The service is always on point, drinks refilled regularly and never a long wait for the food to hit the table. I highly recommend that you give Tokyo Sushi and Grill a try, and most of all...It's so great to once again be back on the Yelp radar!

I had the dynamite sushi roll and the spicy tuna roll. The dynamite sushi roll was so good everything about it was great I also had the cheese wontons I eat those so fast I couldn't even get a picture, great choice. The spicy tuna roll did not taste as fresh. The location is clean they constantly clean and wipe down.

No sitting in the men's room.

The menu is confusing.. they do not have the sushi "scorecard" that you mark.. ordering is more like a memory test of you sushi knowledge... The language barrier prevented asking my server questions.. Food was OK; about as good as Publix sushi next door at twice the price. Facility is second world quality, dirty bathroom in need of repair... missing toilet seat and storing the pressure washer in the customers toilet was a nice touch.. Bottom line.. skip this place and take home Publix sushi from next door

I accidentally stumbled upon Tokyo Sushi & Grill but I'm glad I did. When you first walk in it's a little crowded to be seated if there are people waiting as well....The entrance isn't a big space at all, I had to step outside and wait till someone came outside to leave. (Didn't take more than 2 mins) You can tell this place is full of regulars and returning customers especially because I had to ask a few questions instead of being told. Which isn't a bad thing! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was beyond amazing. The waitress and host went over and beyond to make sure everyone in there was happy. My drink never made it more than half way down before I was offered more. & I almost had to roll out of there because I couldn't stop eating. Truly you can't beat the prices either! This is a must try. I will be back to try the Hibachi!

Was very surprised with how authentic and delicious this sushi was. I have lived in Tokyo for a year and this is the closest I've found anywhere in the Jacksonville area. The rice is also very delicious and miso soup is so authentic. The sweet teas is also to die for. Highly recommend this place. The staff are very nice! And they even have a cute waiter! Hahahaha

It was super crispy, but the meat was still so juicy. And the sweet and creamy sauces just finished the perfect bite. The ramens were pretty solid too. The matcha broth was super creamy and light. And the tonkotsu was so flavorful, with really tender chashu and a perfectly soft boiled egg. Plus the noodles were a really good texture. The restaurant itself is really cute too. They also have a convenience store type of ramen station in the front, which I really want to try. As well as a little arcade game that you can play in the front while you wait to be seated. However, I was really not a fan of the service. It's nothing really against the servers because they were super nice, but they just seemed so frazzled. We arrived around an hour before closing, but it took forever for us to be seated, despite seeing a few empty tables around. By the time we were seated, we were told kitchen would be closing in two minutes, so we had to hurry and put in our orders. All of that was fine and I didn't mind. But what I did mind was that our waitress checked our order twice when we first have it. And she came back to our table within the next five minutes to check our orders again for a third time to make sure she had down what we wanted. I wanted the matcha ramen and was most looking forward to having some chashu and egg. So she confirmed my order three times that I wanted matcha ramen. But when it came out, she gave me the vegetable bowl. I knew the kitchen had closed at that point, so I just ate it, but I was really disappointed. (I did get to try a bite of my friends egg and chashu, which also didn't really help because it was so good and made me wish mine came with those even more.) When we were finished eating, it took forever for the checks to come out. This I also didn't mind that much, because the servers, again, looked really frazzled trying to close up. But at this point we had waited until well after their closing time, so part of me was hoping they could just close us out first and then finish closing down the place. I think we waited at least half an hour from when we first asked for the check (at which point we had already been waiting a while) to when we finally got our cards back. I did see they charged me for the vegetable version of the matcha ramen so it was whatever, but then also I was confused - so it wasn't a mix up in the kitchen, she rang it up as the vegetable one from the beginning! Even though I never mentioned it and she never said vegetable when confirming my order. It was a dollar less to get tofu instead of an egg and chashu which doesn't seem worth it. Writing this all out, I'm sorry to rant, because the food really was good. And looking at other reviews, it looks like the service is usually pretty good. But again, it was just disappointing. That being said, I am really hoping it was a one off thing because I would go again and try some other menu items too.

He mentioned wait times for tables, so I chose a Tuesday evening to try to avoid the crowds and it worked as I was immediately sat upon arriving. There are QR Menus on the table and my server directed me to view there. I spotted the Tokyo and was intrigued by the Ajitama Brûlée (signature torched seasoned soft boiled egg). What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! The popping bubbles were not my thing, but the flavor of the martini was delicious. I can see why many suggest trying it. This is my 1900th review on Yelp, and I couldn't pick a better place to review and RAVE about my experience. If you are in Jacksonville, RUN don't walk to this location for a stunning experience as it's a gorgeous location that is very cozy. During our visit, a manager engaged in repeated personal interactions with my guest that felt outside the bounds of typical professional service. While I understand that friendliness is part of hospitality, the frequency and tone of these interactions became uncomfortable and detracted from the overall experience. Unfortunately, I did not receive a meaningful response or any indication that the concern was taken seriously. I rate it as a pretty good Asian restaurant with some minor flaws that can be easily fixed. BUT! I'll say up front that I didn't find any flaws with my meal and chosen beverage! Yes, I would certainly eat or do takeout here again! The good here, were the meals. The ramen, hibachi, and the dish that Lea ordered were sizable, filled with good meats and veggies - not just a rice or noodle stuffing. My hibachi with shrimp was cooked superbly! There was a nice orange sauce on the grilled shrimp and it was seared perfectly. I was a happy man. But it also came with fried rice (you can choose plan white rice too) and mixed veggies. It was a full meal indeed! Had to take some of it home. Jimmy also had the hibachi meal with chicken. He conquered his full meal - I don't know how! Goldie had one of the Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen bowls with chicken. It was filled with meats, vegetables and other items that she enjoyed for her evening meal. Given we ate on a Monday, it was pretty slow here - but there were a good number of carryout pickups too. My only real negatives was that the service was slow. It took quite a while to get my meal to me our server said it was because the carryout orders slowed things down inside. They had one server working on this evening and she was gracious and took pretty good care of us. The one other item we talked to each other about as far as this shop is concerned was the lack of air conditioning. It wasn't hot, but it was pretty warm inside. Yes, it was a very hot day and this restaurant has a large space to cool. So I can understand the need to conserve, but others may not. All in all we had a nice, relaxed evening with lots of jokes and smiles! This was a great place to meet up and I certainly would visit again! Recommend: HIGH
