I finally got the chance to try the often sold-out Philly roll, and it was incredibly satisfying! A must-try for anyone who visits. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were treating a family to their favorite sushi and edamame and box lunch specials to celebrate the dad's completion of grad school. It was a great time to enjoy good food and conversation. Portions are large here--an 8 piece special roll is quite filling because each sushi piece is larger than the traditional mouthful. I ordered a teriyaki salmon lunch special which comes with miso soup and salad and my husband ordered the tonkatsu bowl. Our friend the graduate ordered the lunch special with 4 pcs sushi and an Alaskan roll. Other family members ordered a Geisha roll, a Sapporo roll, and a teriyaki beef lunch special. The teriyaki specials were accompanied by California rolls and veggie tempura as well as one fried gyoza and one egg roll! Generous portions. I boxed about 1/3 of mine to go. For dessert they have macarons with ice cream: our friends ordered a coffee, coconut and raspberry one, which they said were not overly sweet, and yummy. Service 5/5 very attentive and helpful Ambience 4/5 (I don't like the TVs but at least the volume was off) Food 4/5 : Generous portions and fish was fresh. -Salmon looked like it was farm raised (not the bright pink of wild salmon), but still fresh and delicious. -Special Sushi rolls: difficult to eat, too big in diameter but good flavors -Tempura :crispy and not too oily--first time to see shishito peppers this way--nice!

There's usually a wait during the dinner rush, but the food is absolutely worth it. Everything is consistently delicious & the quality keeps us coming back. Some of our must order items are the miso sea bass, teriyaki beef (get the sauce on the side) pork cheek & salmon. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and large cuts. One of my favorite little traditions is starting the meal with their sake served in the wooden box. It makes it fun taking shots. If you're looking for fresh sushi, great Japanese dishes & a restaurant that's earned a loyal following for good reason, Ojiya is a must-try!

What stood out to me was the rice to fish ratio. The rice was small and the fish was generously thick, which made every bite super satisfying. I honestly can't remember having sushi quite like that before. The chefs are from Japan, so you can tell the food is authentic. We also ordered the teriyaki bowl. It was okay, but nothing special. The Chirashi bowl, on the other hand, was packed with fish and definitely worth the price. Overall, if you're a sushi lover, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try.

Honestly, it turned out to be such a relaxing solo dining experience. One thing I really liked was the seating in the center section. Each table has a low divider wall, which gives you just the right amount of privacy. It makes the space feel comfortable, especially if you are dining alone or just want to enjoy your meal quietly. I felt very relaxed the whole time. The inside of the restaurant was also nice and cool, which was perfect for sushi. There is just something about enjoying fresh sushi in a cool, comfortable atmosphere that makes the meal even better. food was great as always. I highly recommend the carpaccio! It was fresh, flavorful, and definitely one of my favorite items from this visit. I also tried several different skewers this time, and honestly, every single one was a success. Each skewer had great flavor and went perfectly with beer while watching the game.

They are celebrating their 20 years anniversary by offering 50% off all sushi and rolls. It's all day Happy Hour. We ordered Monkey Balls. It's deep fried spicy tuna with mushroom. It comes beautifully presented. It tasted pretty good but I cannot taste the tuna. The mushroom taste overpowered the tuna. All I can taste was the mushroom. It was still tasty nonetheless. We also had Rainbow roll and Salmon Lover roll. Both of these were delicious. My favorite was the Rainbow roll. I liked the assortment of raw fish on this roll. We ordered the Yellowtail roll under the regular rolls menu so we can compare and see the difference of a regular roll versus the premium rolls. The regular roll was a bit boring. I recommend skipping the regular rolls. All the sushi tasted fresh. Waitress was friendly. This place is nice and clean. There is plenty of parking since it is part of a large shopping center. I would come back to try other dishes. Their menu has wide selection of dishes other than sushi and rolls.

It's a great casual sushi spot, perfect for smaller groups/families. Here is what I recommend ordering when you visit: - Chirashi deluxe, $29.99: this is an AMAZING deal for a chirashi bowl in today's economy. It even has ikura and uni with the assorted sashimi in the bowl. Highly recommend for the price! - Salmon kama (collar), $8.99: this is a HUGE salmon collar portion for the price, and it's absolutely delicious. It takes a little longer for them to make, but is so worth it. - Spectrum roll and salmon lover roll: these are our 2 favorite rolls to order. Spectrum has albacore with crispy fried onions, and salmon lover has is... well, packed with salmon. Miso soup comes with all orders. Service is always extremely friendly and food comes out quickly. Plenty of parking as well. Will be back to visit again soon!
