I'm pregnant so I only had the kitchen dishes and rolls and they were good. The seaweed salad, sweet potato tempura, eel avocado rolls, Godzilla roll (eel shrimp tempura) were all good. My husband said the sashimi was not bad especially for the price. read more

An all you can eat sushi restaurant is very popular in Las Vegas, where instead of a buffet that has old items and people hovering over the food, you can order off of a menu of assorted items that are made to order. It's a wonderful format and I hope more restaurants do this. Fukuya is a welcome addition in this aspect. Once I heard about fukuya, it's been on my list. I finally had a chance to come by on a Saturday off peak time. Service was quick and attentive. Close to when you finish most of the food in front of you, the waitress arrived with a new menu if you want to order more. I didn't take pictures of the all you can eat paper menus, but they are the same as what I saw in the gallery for fukuya. As you can see from my pics, I was able to enjoy many sashimi and nigiri -- mostly salmon, tuna, and unagi. The common complaint at some ayce sushi places is there is too much rice on the sushi or rolls. I will say fukuya puts a reasonable and average amount of rice on its sushi, maybe sometimes leaning on just a little too much. But since ordering sashimi without any rice is an option, I ate a mix and was great. There were rolls available to order but I did not -- I like nigiri and sashimi mostly. Appetizers were small so you can sample many of them, and then repeat any you like. The fish was all fresh. The only complaint I may have would be the Tuna was on the lower side of flavor. Salmon was great. I enjoyed my meal, and if you can eat more than the equivalent of 2 or 3 rolls, it's also cost-friendly. A choice of ice cream is also included. I'll be back for sure. read more

This is an AYCE sushi spot. You order and they make it on the spot. I came here on a busy Friday evening and did not call ahead to be put on the waitlist. The wait was almost 2 hours, but well worth it considering all of the food you get for $25. The highlights include the galbi, salmon teriyaki, shrimp tempura, white tuna + salmon sashimi, Glen Burnie, Fukuya and the Salmon lover rolls were delicious. The ambience here is nice as well. We came in as a party of 2 a little early for dinner at 5pm on a Friday because other reviews mentioned a long wait time. I was still surprised at how many tables were filled when we got there, perhaps they all had the same strategy! We were seated right away and were in and out in right about an hour, and by then there were 3 parties waiting when we left. Naturally we both decided to do the AYCE menu. The quality of the rolls were good. The soy sauce on the table was unlabeled but it tasted like a weaker soy sauce to me. Our waitress did not speak more than 5 words to us during our visit. With that said, there was a help wanted sign so maybe they were short staffed and/or the staff working had been working longer than usual shifts. This is an AYCE Japanese restaurant, which I don't think we have another one in DMV area. We went there are a weekend lunch. The price is $21.99 per person. We add two sodas (refillable) for $2.50/person. The sushi and sashimi is at my expectation. Good quality compare to any regular sushi restaurant. I will recommend their Eel sushi and sashimi, yellow tail maki, and salmon sashimi (I am a huge fan of salmon). I will also highly recommend their teriyaki chicken and beef for hot items. These are way better than any teriyaki entrees you can get from mall food court or Quickway. Tender, flavorful, balanced, but not salty or overly sweet. I decided to try this place out since it's the only AYCE sushi place in the area and it recently opened up. It's part of small strip mall right by the pet store, House of Tropicals. We stopped by during weekend lunch hour and were seated right away. Took a while for someone to come around after being seated though. We ordered miso and mushroom soups, bunch of rolls, yaki chicken/beef and chicken udon. We ordered 6 special rolls but only 5 came out. Everything tasted decent but the fish were thinly sliced and wasabi looked dry and ginger didn't look too fresh. The food was good, but what really stood out was the great service and the price. Are you getting the best sushi in the DMV? not quite, but it was pretty decent for a hole in the wall spot in Glen Burnie. We were satisfied with our time and our meal. Everything is made to order, so the hot food was still hot and the sushi rolls were freshly rolled. You can see the chefs at the counter working their crafts. It's nonstop during a busy dinner rush. I cannot say enough good things about Fukuya! I went in late June with my sister and her boyfriend. It is in an unassuming location. A little on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you. All the tables are along one length of the wall. When we came, only a couple other tables had patrons. The waiters, waitresses, and sushi chefs were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and caring. Our water glasses were never empty. The food came out quickly and was all fresh. The hot food was hot, and the cold food was cold. Don't laugh...I have been to places where the opposite was true, so this is important to me. Absolutely loved the sashimi and the rolls. They were able to accommodate no dairy for one person in our party, which was nice, as a number of places wouldn't do that. We had one small mishap that was immediately corrected after I informed the waiter. Everyone was incredibly apologetic, which I felt bad about, as I didn't think it was a big issue. They will charge you if you have leftover but since you can keep ordering til your heart's content, I'd say go slow and steady. I saw a review of this place from an Instagram food account and decided to give it try. The place was definitely pretty busy on a Thursday evening, lots of people keep coming in and out. The kitchen food was pretty good. I wish they emphasize this in the paper menu but when you order how many you want of a certain dish, each order comes in 2 pieces (at least most of them did). I thought everything came in one pieces so my husband and I over ordered the first round. I enjoyed the beef skewer (really tasty but more on the sweeter side), goyza, sweet potato tempura (surprisingly my favorite), shrimp tempura (ehh wasn't that good), calamari (it was good but I didn't enjoy the pairing sauce). For the sushi, the rolls were on a smaller side but it was good. Tried the dragon roll, Godzilla roll, and valentines roll. The taste was good but again, it's definitely smaller in size but I didn't mind it because it's AYCE so you can try them in small portions and order more if you like. For the sashimis, I was pretty disappointed. I thought the raw fish would be fresher but it was not. I didn't feel like they were sushi graded. We messed up here because we wanted to order 2 of everything but like I said earlier, you get 2 pieces per order so we ended up getting a lot more pieces than we thought. So I'd recommend, just order 1 order if you want to try it out as it comes in 2 pieces. We over ordered and was struggling to finish. We also opted in for all sashimis branded we didn't want to get full from the rice but did not like it because the fish wasn't really fresh. TLDR: One of the best AUCE sushi restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent quality, vast selection of both hot foods and sushi as well as attentive staff. With a price of less than $25 per person, this is a must try for any sushi fanatic on a budget.  Vibe: 5/5. If public transportation is a must, one of the fee county Light Rail stops is located across the street. The quality of both the kitchen food and sushi surpassed my wildest dreams for an AUCE sushi restaurant.Both the kitchen and sushi menus are vast, offering a wide variety of items for diners to choose from. During our dinner visit, we opted to try a little bit of everything from both menus and we were thoroughly impressed. Highlights from the kitchen menu included the tasty seafood soup and generously portioned beef udon. Both of these items exemplified the quality as if they were served in a non sushi restaurant. From the sushi menu, we loved the maki and hand rolls. Generous fish to rice ratios in these two items make them the best choice for sushi lovers. The nigiri was a bit rice heavy, making them not our first choice. In terms of the quality of fish, I found the taste to be very high quality and that of any a la carte sushi place. As an added bonus, the AUCE includes your choice of dessert! Finally went to check out this place that everyone was raving about for the AYCE Sushi. I was bummed at first because online it said $18.99 per person but when I got there it said $26.99. Second, the menu was very selective and not many good options as I thought but hey I decided to give it a chance. I order a little bit of everything. I was not pleased and satisfied by the sushi. Some of the rolls I ordered tasted horrible or left a bad taste in my mouth. The service by the staff was fast but I didn't like their one manager, she was always walking around watching you eat , I guess to make sure you don't waste food. Honestly, I hate someone watching over me eat, it's impolite and not professional. That right there made me not want to come back. While I was eating I felt horrible and didn't want to eat anymore after I finished my plate. (Side note- if you don't finish your food they will charge you for each item you didn't eat and wasted it). I didn't worry because I ate it all. Overall it was ok and I don't think I would come back because I felt like it was basic. This is the worst part, when I got home from the restaurant, I threw it all up. We did the all you can eat sushi, and I want to say it was because it's a new location, but there is no time limit on AYCE, so they really can't estimate your wait time. The host was horribly rude. He originally quoted us an hour and a half wait, but we were not seated till two and a half hours later. Not only did he not clear the table when the customers left, but he refused to wipe down the table after it was cleared because we were "rushing him". When he did wipe down our table with a reusable rag, he wiped his hands with the rag first... The restaurant is suited for small parties as there are few tables for more than two people. The service staff was nice, but they are spread thin, so there were about three servers for the whole restaurant and three sushi chefs for an all you can eat sushi bar... Great value AYCE sushi ($22/person) but can be very slow/busy! I came to Fukuya on Friday night at 6pm with a group of 5 and it was packed! We put our name and phone number down and didn't get seated until about 1.5 hours later. There are two ordering menus that you can mark down what you want - hot kitchen (cooked food) and the sushi menu. We started with some of the cooked items from the kitchen. We tried the salad, miso soup, edamame, shumai, shrimp tempura, and calamari. the miso soup and edamame were good but a bit too salty for our tastes, and the fried foods were a little too breaded. These items all came out very quickly though and were freshly made. Since we had a group of 5 and we were quite hungry after waiting a while, we made a large order of sushi and rolls, The specialty and maki rolls came out in about 45 minutes, and all the rolls were tasty! The rice to filling ratio was also nicely balanced. Our sushi and sashimi platter came out 15 minutes later, and overall everything was pretty fresh as well, except for the tuna sashimi, since it still seemed slightly frozen. We also thought that there was too much rice on the sushi rolls. We submitted a second large order for sushi when the first platter came, but we ended up cancelling it. This was the most frustrating part of the meal, as we waited close to 1.5 hours for this order to come. It was close to 10pm (closing time) when we found that that our order hadn't even been started, so we just cancelled it so we could leave. $27 per person for a variety of sashimi, sushi rolls, dessert & appetizers. The restaurant does not set limits on ordering but emphasizes no food waste! The food was not necessarily the best/freshest but pretty on par with what you pay for & pretty decent. Easy to send in orders and good service however since we came on a weekend it took longer for us to get our orders. You order by putting a quantity on a paper menu they give you however with no pictures it can be confusing for those less familiar with sushi types and fish names. read more

Great spot for all you can eat sashimi! The sashimi are great. Soups, beef teriyaki are great too. Hand rolls and special rolls were ok. Shrimp tempura were too oily and heavy battered. I would not recommend it. Service was ok. But who cares about all that. The sashimi was worth it! :) read more

I've already been here twice since they opened for the AUCE 20$ sushi bar and kitchen! I usually come early around 11:30 or 12 ( they open at 1030!) and they aren't really very busy at this time, but the service continued to be attentive and friendly as if it was a busy night ! Wait times are very low between plates which is awesome! This place has great ambiance, and the quality is outstanding. I've been able to try so many things I wouldn't normally get because of price or uncertainty if I'd like it... The kitchen even made an adjustment to my tofu teriyaki and pan searing it instead of frying it! Everything has been so good and I can't wait to bring friends here! It feels like I'm coming back to a fond memory when I come here. read more

I'm sorry the restaurant is nice, was empty and now I know why. The spider roll had so much on it that I was like where's the soft shell crab and when I found it was dry. I've had spider rolls before and the soft shell crab was the feature. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I won't go there ever again although they were nice. Look at the rolls and tell me where the soft shell crab is? I'll wait. I had to hunt the restaurant down and no name on the outside I was like what?!!! In police business that's what you call a clue.
