Came here for a family dinner and I guess I got the Hong Kong's cafe experience? Service was okay; the staff didn't seem attentive at all. Water service was super slow. There was no wait when I came here on a Monday night (~8PM). My family and I decided to get the $68 Set Meal for 5 items, which includes: - half salty chicken or peppered chicken (we chose salty) - any 5 item from below (we chose honey walnut shrimps, spicy shrimps clay pot, green veggies, steamed fish, braised pork). As for the food, everything was super oily--to the point where my lips was glossy #NotAFan. I think the only dish I tolerated was honey shrimps with walnuts. Went here with the first time on Sunday and I'm pretty impressed. For a cafe, the price is amazing and the taste of the food is alright. Most if not all their meals come with a free drink. The food is a little on the blander side but I don't mind it too much. That said, their menu definitely has a wider variety than Leisure Cafe across the street. I ordered their curry fish balls, baked fish with spaghetti and a red bean ice drink (added cost). My boyfriend had the stir fried rice noodle with chicken. Had some of that too which was pretty good. I was going to order their pineapple bun with butter but they ran out of those apparently? Definitely coming back again to try different things on their menu, but as far as authenticity goes, it's super authentic. And I'm Chinese/been to Hong Kong as well. So I know my Chinese food. This cute little HK cafe is fairly new in the downtown San Leandro area, along with many other new businesses as well. I think I have been here enough to give it a fair three star review. SERVICE: I never had a problem here. The waitresses are all very kind. I have came here week day and weekend nights, and food comes out in a fair amount of time. FOOD: They have a very vast menu with many options. I really wish that the taste in their food could be more consistent. Some days I feel like the flavor is on point, but the next day I could tell someone half assed it. I walk in hoping and praying that whoever the kitchen staff that day will put a little TLC in ma foodz. My usuals here are the half baked pork chop over rice and half meat sauce spaghetti. The sauce tastes very nice and the egg fried rice underneath is tasty! Their pork chop is on the thinner side but that explains the affordable price tag that comes along with most of their food. I've been eyeing this place for awhile ever since I saw the previous place had closed and have been waiting for the new restaurant to open up. I was really apprehensive and feared that this place would somehow be run by the previous manager/owner of the restaurant before this. I even had a contingency plan to go elsewhere if I happen to spot him in the back as he had harassed me on Yelp for a bit after my initial review. I'm pretty sure it's with different owners as this looks like it may be the same chain as another Full Moon Cafe in Oakland. The place has a nice minimalist makeover filled with rustic wooden dining tables and chairs. We were greeted by a friendly server who spoke Cantonese to us. I attempted to converse with her in my broken half Cantonese and half English. I had wanted to order the black pepper beef udon but she mentioned the udon being sour and asked if I wanted a taste or she can give me the lunch special of black peppered rice and substitute it with spaghetti noodles for $7.99. I went ahead with her suggestion. My bf ordered off their lunch specials as well, their pork chop with spaghetti noodles. It seems that even though their lunch specials are all with rice, they'll give you an option to get it with spaghetti noodles. Their lunch specials are mostly $7.99 and comes with your choice of lemon tea , milk tea, or coffee; all hot or iced. The main waitress was really friendly and checked on us often. This place serves Hong Kong style cafe food with some street food skewer selections. It's not like we needed another Chinese restaurant around here, but I welcome the additional options for HK style food. I'm not sure if they got their liquor license yet, but the notice for it was posted outdoor, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of alcohol they offer. read more

Came here on a 9pm Wednesday night. Located right next to the Bank of America on East 14th. Easy to miss. Street parking was difficult and parking lot right next door belongs to BoA. I parked across the street in the T4 Safeway lot. They were very accommodating to our 18 person party with no reservation, granted it was not busy at all. Also, willing to do separate checks for each of us. Service was lightning quick. My side of the part ordered first. Before the waiters could get to the end of our party, food started to come out. (~5min) Order: Seafood ho fun wet style: DELICIOUS. It had a powerful wok flavor (a bit smoky). The wet style from the sauce was perfect. Good place for home and comfort food. Full House Cafe is a small Chinese restaurant located in down town San Leandro and I had a weekend lunch here with friends and unfortunately, I have nothing positive to share about Full House Cafe. It is a cringe worthy restaurant that I would avoid at all costs. For starters, they have exceptionally bad service. In our case, we ordered the exact same food as the table next to us who came in a good fifteen minutes after us yet their food came first and our food did not come out until after thirty minutes. Also, the servers are rude with an ongoing angry tone. We asked for water and it was like a crime doing so. It was a complete turn off. In terms of their food, we all ended up barely touching what we ordered. I would elaborate on two that was completely unacceptable. We ordered chicken wings for appetizer and some baked spaghetti with chicken breast. The wings were just not edible. It was literally like biting into a salt block. It was so salty, we ended up leaving an untouched full plate of wings. For the baked spaghetti, the chicken breast was uncooked. It literally still had red streaks. As a final feedback on this food, this place needs to be health inspected. Overall, Full House Cafe is one of the worse restaurants in San Leandro. Very convenient if you want a place to snag some cheap Asian food, but make sure you're not in a hurry, it took them quite awhile to get our food out. I was excited to see a new cafe open up in San Leandro and was hopeful this place would be better than the nearby Leisure cafe. Since it was a soft opening, I came in with low expectations...which were met. To start, a lot of the items on the menu were not available for which the servers were very apologetic about. Now onto what we could order... Grass Jelly Icee - The taste was good but there were hardened/frozen pieces of grass jelly that were just inedible. The texture of the jelly did not make any sense and ruined the entire drink. Steamed rice rolls - This was actually good as it is hard to screw this one up. They throw some sauce over some rice noodles and it's good to go. "Baked" chicken/ham over spaghetti - This was one of the worst dishes I have ever had at a restaurant. So many things wrong I don't even know where to start. First off, the dish was 95% spaghetti with the other 5% made up of sliced deli ham you get from a grocery store and chicken, which were tiny sliced pieces that were dry and tough to eat. The sauce itself tasted like it was straight from a can of tomato sauce and there was no cheese on top. It gets better, this dish came out in less than 10 minutes and it was obvious there was no baking involved. They cooked the dish and threw it on a metal plate making it look like they baked it. If they can't get this dish right as a hong kong style cafe, they have problems. I probably will never come back. This place as it is right now sucks. Don't waste your money. If you want to go to a good cafe, you'll probably have to head to Oakland. read more
