let me start out by saying that this guy is great with both service and sales. i had a very bad experience from another goped mechanic and this guy fixed the problem and made it the most cost effective for me in everyway. I am not in the habit of usually writing reviews for companies because I am a lazy bum and would rather do other things with my time. But I definitely felt compelled to write a stellar review for Sam and Myron's Extreme Machines because the situation definitely warranted it. About a year ago, I was getting ready to go to Burning Man with my Bladez (like a go-ped) scooter and needed a flat tire repaired beforehand. I looked up goped repair on Craiglist and saw a post by him. I had already taken my scooter to a couple of bike shops who were unable to do the job. I live in Santa Monica, so Fullerton is not exactly close to me. So I made the trek out there and am so glad that I did. Sam fixed my tire no problem. I also needed a couple more scooters for burning man, but because they were only going to be driven once and only to be abused in the harsh desert environment, purchasing new ones was not in the budget. I asked Sam a bunch of questions regarding what style would be a good fit and never once did I ever feel pressured or directed by him to purchase "his" scooters instead of used ones that fit my budget criteria. After Burning Man, my scooters needed some serious servicing. Because I live so far away I wanted to make sure to call first to make sure I could get in and not waste a trip out there. Unfortunately, Sam informed me of his schedule and that the scooters would have to be serviced the next day. I was sort of in a rush to have them fixed so that they could be X-mas presents and I could send them out in enough time and decided that the best course of action was to have them dropped off at night instead, so that they could be looked at first thing in the morning. His store closes at 6pm and I arrived at 5:30pm to drop them off under the belief that I would have to drive 1 hour back to SM that night and drive another 2 hours roundtrip to pick them up the next day. Despite it being the X-mas holiday week, Sam volunteered to stay late until 9pm (without convincing from me, despite already telling me that the store closes at 6 and that they would not be worked on until the next day) servicing my scooters while he was sick as a dog. That is some serious dedication., I tell ya. While I was waiting, I saw him interact with some other clients and saw how fair and reasonable he was with them regarding returns and upgrades. But what really shocked the pants off of me was that because he was working (and I was waiting) during the dinner hours, his partner went out and bought dinner for him and then tacos for me too!!! We are talking tacos here, people! How many mechanics, car or otherwise, buy their customers tacos while they wait?! I offered to tip Sam or pay him extra for him working overtime / after hours and he would have none of it. Having another satisfied customer was tip enough for him. His prices were very affordable making the trip out there well worth the cost in gasoline alone. I definitely trust Sam and should the occasion arise for me to purchase a new go-ped, I definitely know who to buy from. They have a customer for life. Just bought a new electric bike from Myrons and I must say it was a pretty good buying experience. I was a little disappointed that they didn't carry all the bike accessories that one may want, but this was the only place in the Los Angeles area that seemed to carry more than 1 electric bike. The guy who worked there (presumably Myron) was also very knowledgeable about all the equipment and more than happy to answer my questions. Lastly, well worth the drive. We did our homework over several months, researching the exact E-Bike we wanted. We went to several shops, looking and pricing knowing we wanted to purchase at least two bikes. We called Sam and after just a few moments on the phone, We arrived at his shop just for a test ride. We're experienced riders but had many questions. Their was absolutely no pressure to purchase. Sam even gave us the option, he would hold onto any bike for a week while we thought about it. The extra time was not necessary. The purchase was made for three E-Bikes. We left with one while two were ordered. Mean while, Having several more questions while we waited for the bikes to come in. Sam answered every phone call ( which were many ) never feeling rushed or uncomfortable after making so many calls. I don't know this guy Sam but the guy who helped me had a huge attitude. He was skinny and very tall. And first thing he said is I do not like that type of a bike you have. !! I said so, Will you fix the flat tire. And he said yes but did nothing but complain the whole time. It got delivered with the flat so I wanted someone to fix it for the first time. When I picked it up he said he had problems with it putting it together. When I got home the pedal assist would not work it was shorting out. I had to really look at it hard and this guy ended up putting it together wrong. !!!! So I had to take time and figure out the right way to put it together. ... A while later I talk to a friend who went down there with his electric bike. And he said he doesn't like it and would not work on it. !! People don't need a bicycle shop like this with attitude and putting things together wrong, and refusing to work on bicycles. !!! Do not go to this guy unless you're a good friend. !! I purchased an ecco 2.5 electric bicycle from Myrons and it is a terrific devise. I should have owned one for years. I live in a hilly neighborhood in Irvine and now, for the first time, I can really get out and enjoy the paths, trails and neighborhoods around me - without having to worry about getting back up the hill. Sam at Myrons Extreme Machines is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about everything electric bike wise and beyond! He is passionate about his product and has tested out practically every bike in the place it seems. Because he sure seems to know all the specs off the top of his head! I watched as he dealt with each and every customer in a friendly and knowledgable manner. And he spends plenty of time with each customer....so you may have to be a bit patient as it seems people are constantly arriving at the shop with multiple questions and are taking test drives of the bikes themselves. So It may take a few minutes before you can ask your own questions. Sam is impossible to miss as he is tall and looks like Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller! With almost the same exact voice....only no magic tricks or Teller standing silently nearby! He actually will take out the time to guide people to products and bikes within a person's price range! And he'll even tell them where they can purchase some of the lower priced bikes he does not sale! He saved me a few thousand by pointing out a comparable bike to what I was looking for. My Tidal Force M750 had finally fizzled out battery wise and getting batteries for one seems near impossible! So Sam showed me a Neo Cross Electric bike at far less cost than I was imagining I'd pay for a bike comparable to the uber expensive Tidal Force M 750! Heck, Sam and his wife even delivered my bike to my house personally that very same day I bought it and after business hours! Now that is rare customer service!! And threw in some free stuff as well! Sweet! I will definitely continue to do business with Sam and his wife! And Sam even told me he'd research the possibility of a replacement of the dead battery pack for the Tidal Force M 750 (No guarantees though! That is almost comparable to finding the holy grail of impossible to find power systems for obsolete electric bikes!) Sam will even offer up items at WHOLESALE! The guy freaking bends over backwards to make the whole transaction as smooth and pleasant as possible! I give Sam 2 two thumbs up with a third mutant thumb thrown in for good measure. Only negative is that the shop is super easy to miss as you drive along Commonwealth Avenue. (Just look for bikes out front and several customers test riding the bikes! Great selection of really nice electric bikes that will meet your budget. Sam is the owner along with his wife. I have been there half a dozen times and I don't think they ever take time off. Sam takes the time to see what you really need even if he thinks you don't need anything at all. I even went there on a weekend to get a flat fixed on my fat bike and they took care of it right away. I thought for sure I would have to cancel my ride but they saved me. He recommended a Haibike for my wife and I have to say it is the best bike she has ever ridden. We needed to get our 2007 GoPeds "tuned-up" and have the throttles replaced. After doing much research and calling many shops, we were referred to Sam at Myron's Extreme Machines. He was very helpful and provided great customer service. Although he offered to fix the GoPeds while we waited, we wanted to get out of town before the LA rush hour began as we live in Apple Valley. Ive gone to Sam for Go-Ped accories if there are no other option and I need it asap I have caught him lying to me and have witnessed him lie to customers about bikes. I work at a bike shop also and cant believe the things he says to his customers. Today was the icing on the cake. I call him up and say hey Sam! merry christmas would you sell the rattlesnake goped pipe you have sitting on your shelf that I've been asking about every time I come in and he finally said yes, I will sell it to you I have no manifold so ill give it to you for 60 bucks witch is an amazing price for that exhaust pipe. I hopped in my car and rushed over, when I got there he pulled out a completely different pipe lied to my face and said I don't care basically F you. Your not getting that rattlesnake for 60 bucks. lied made me speed over waste my time and gas and its xmas...... Excellent customer service! Originally came to the store to test drive scooters and ended up with a Populo e-bike instead. They threw in some accessories and adjusted the bike for me. After I rode a couple times in my local neighborhood, I discovered the bike seat was too high and I have difficulty getting on and off the bike. They had a barely used Populo e-bike in stock when I came in again, same model as the one I purchased but a size smaller. Sam gave me the option of either pay some extra and get a brand new bike at a smaller size or do an even exchange with my bike for the smaller size. I decided to do the even exchange since the bike is still fairly new and in good condition, plus it came with a better seat. Sam also adjusted the handlebar so it'd be taller and easier for me to ride with, transferred the accessories from my original bike to this one at no extra charge. He gave my husband pointers on the clamps to buy so we can fit a rear rack on there and answered all our questions patiently. When we came in the shop, he was very busy and he stayed late to fix up the bike for us so we can take it back with us the same day. Even though we live 1.5 hrs from the shop, I would come again next time we needed anything e-bike related and I would highly recommended this shop to everyone I know. read more

I have been researching e-bikes for the past several weeks and got a good feel for general pricing on the low and high side however I lacked one thing, knowing how they perform for my particular situation. Never having ridden an e-bike, I was curious how these bikes would ride. Having ridden motorcycles and scooters in my youth, and mountain bikes much later, I have been off of two wheels for over 10 years and I really needed to do something about my ever increasing belt line! With a commute less than 4 miles from my home to work, but an entirely uphill climb, I feel like I am wasting gasoline with our cars, and a bicycle commute is very attractive for exercise and being more "green"! I stopped by today for the first time, unannounced, to see what they had and I met Sam who was extremely patient and obviously passionate about the products he sells. He let me test ride several of the bikes after I told him my application and I asked about solutions in different price ranges, he was just as eager to show me the least expensive eZips as the iZips and E-motor options..I was impressed. His prices were fair, and the service was outstanding. I know where I will be buying our bikes, one for me and my wife and I will be telling all of my friends through my social media outlets about what a great place this is! read more

I called Sam to see if he would match a price for a bike that I had found online and he agreed to work with me. I was interested in a particular bike, but had never ridden it before and felt that being able to buy a bike from a physical location would bring more peace of mind rather than buying online. As soon as I walked in, Sam and staff was accommodating and friendly. He suggested that I go ride a variety of mid-drive bikes with different motor manufacturers to make sure I was picking the right bike. He was totally trusting and I was able to test ride a variety of bikes to get a good feel out around the nice parking lot loop. Eventually, I ended up pulling the trigger and Sam ordered the exact bike I wanted at an awesome price. Not quite the price I found online, but definitely worth it nonetheless. I would say that if you are thinking about buying an e bike online site unseen, go visit Myron's first and I'm confident you'll feel more comfortable buying at a real, physical shop with knowledgeable staff. We bought two electric folding bicycles today from Sam and Kanika and it was a wonderful experience. We drove all the way from Dana Point, having seen his shop a few days ago when he was at a doctor's appointment. In the day between we checked out two local shops but liked the huge selection that Myron's has. Even though Sam was wearing a cast and using crutches for a broken leg, he really gave us a LOT of information about each bike we wanted to test drive. He has a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share it. But there was no pressure to make a sale. The important thing was to educate us. Very thorough, after the transaction he talked us through removing and installing the batteries and folding them up. It's always a great feeling to make an important purchase from people you truly like. It's a good omen. Kanika was working hard getting all the bikes out and adjusting things, doing the work of two. There is a large loop of empty asphalt parking for test-driving bikes without ever having to go out on the street. People, this electric bike shop is exceptional. HIGHLY recommended. The owner, Sam, was very knowledgeable and helpful when I was looking for an electric scooter. When I had a particular request for something he didn't have, he suggested where to buy it online. And then he said that when I receive it I should take it to him and he would be happy to assemble it for me.
