From the virtually emotionless staff to the then old pizza that was reheated and served to us. Absolutely reminded me of the pizza we got served in school back in the 70's! I'm not sure what the poor reviews complaining about no flavor are about.... maybe people are expecting a different crust and surprised by this version? It's definitely different than a doughy crust and is made intentionally thin and crispy with corn meal. My wife and I really enjoyed our pizza. We made sure to ask for extra sauce and light cheese. I'm guessing the crabby/rude lady referenced in other reviews either had the night off or has retired because the young lady that took our order was polite and calm even with the rush of holiday traffic in store and over the phone. We were visiting Cannon Beach and on the way back to our car, we suddenly smelled the unmistakable aroma of fresh, hot, pizza. We looked to our left and saw diners eating hot, fresh slices of the best looking pizza - you know the kind: perfectly baked, generous toppings, glistening with pepperonis and fresh veg. We weren't even trying to stop for food but my husband and I both made a beeline for the door and said "Um, yeah we need to have this." We ordered the Haystack to-go from friendly staff and in about 15 minutes we were on our way. We found a cool spot on a bench by the beach and cracked open that hot cardboard box and dug in. SOOO GOOD!! And about 3 people stopped by to ask where we got the pizza cuz it looked so good. If you're looking for horrible customer service and inedible pizza, look no further. As soon as we walked in we could tell that the lady behind the counter was frazzled because of the rush. She aggressively asked for our order and we quickly made a decision without asking any questions about the menu (already didn't feel comfortable). Roughly ~$30 for a large pizza. Right after she gave us our receipt, I realized that I'd made a mistake and I quickly asked her if I could change my 1/2 of the pizza to Pepperoni (we were still standing at the counter) Before I could even finish speaking she said NO - I'VE ALREADY PUT IT IN THE SYSTEM. As though she couldn't be bothered to just turn around and tell her staff standing 2 ft. away to change the ticket. I was shocked at her rudeness and the complete lack of customer service. We were both very annoyed and upset by this and no longer wanted to eat here, but IT WAS ALREADY IN THE SYSTEM. So it looked like we had to stay. The manager or owner (I'm assuming the rude lady's husband who witnessed her verbal abuse) wandered by our table multiple times but didn't comment on the exchange. He just lamely offered napkins. When the pizza came out 30 minutes later, it was a disappointment to say the least. The crust is made with a cornbread mix and we found multiple uncooked parts. The toppings were primarily onion and garlic and all cold. Lacking in seasoning. The best thing I can say is the cheese was melted. We ate a few slices and left about 3/4 of the pizza untouched. This has never happened to us before as even OK pizza is still good in a pinch. This was the worst I've had. Ever. My husband and I came here last night as a last resort (other places were too crowded) but we were optimistic because this place seemed super busy so we assumed it must be popular. If the temperature could get to something normal instead of always hot inside I would give the place a 5 star. That said the pizza is always delicious. Good toppings not skimpy. Not sure where some of the reviews get the idea of premade crusts they make their own dough. I am sure like any place they make a bunch of dough balls early and then pull them when needed. It has always busy when we are here. Good sign of good food. Staff isn't super friendly but if you are working in 80+ temperatures inside I would be not so thrilled too ;) Try the Mona Lisa it's quite tasty. I always add Mushrooms to it. Come here if you're expectations are amazing food in the time it takes amazing food to be prepared. My lasagna came out bubbling hot & SO delicious. Seriously scrumptious. They weren't serving pre-made food, they were serving food made to order & that takes longer...go figure. If you want fast food, go to Seaside & drive-thru taco bell or KFC. They also do a very convenient take out if you can't sit & wait. Their staff was helpful, accommodating & friendly. Such a treat in my daily experiences. Acknowledged us & managed our expectations. Very disappointed..... Was only in town 2 nights and wanted to enjoy a NY Style pizza in my room. I looked up pizza on line and this place sounded great. We ordered on phone and then We picked it up and brought it to our room to enjoy. It tasted pretty bad..... I would not order from here again. All the bad reviews are true. As we were waiting for the pizza, the lady at front counter was rude to her staff. Our Pizza was undercooked and when i asked to put it back into oven, the lady at the counter made sure i understood how inconvenient this was for her. I was so startled that i didnt say that the pizza was undercooked, so she just heated it up. Needless to say, i didnt ask again. I wish I could give zero stars. We have eaten here in the past and have had good food service but now it is awful. We went there about 3:30pm and the pizza slices were definitely made at the lunch hour. They were pretty much inedible. The salad bar was neglected with several items low and poor quality - NO Lettuce!! The soda machine was out of syrups and carbonation. I had to bring all of this to the managers attention multiple times. It seemed like I was bothering her too much. All employees looked unhappy to be there (manager included). It really showed in the quality of food they served us. The girl who took our orders is inexperienced with customer service. She's young so I won't fault her, definitely poor management. We got a large haystack pizza. The toppings were great, the crust was good. Fed four of us with some to spare. The tip jar is named Phil the Tip Jar, found that funny. We got our food pretty quickly. Sadly, I did not read the reviews before getting gouged for inedible pizza. This was never a problem before at Fultano's but clearly something has changed. Is this true for all their locations? I won't rehash what so many reviewers have pointed out but our pizza wasn't cooked, had less than two millimeters of sauce and cheese on top, and was even rejected by juvenile seagulls. So, the pizza is edible. I wouldn't say bad like some of the other reviews. However, I would say it's similar taste to digiorno frozen pizza. The bottom of the crust is super hard, sauce is thick and way too sweet and the toppings are not high quality. We had a medium cheese and a medium Mona Lisa. We order take out because it was the only pizza place taking orders. So I appreciate that and it fed our family. Would we go back, no. Was it worth $51 dollars for two medium pizzas, no. The reason we gave Fultano's a three star was because of the poor service and not receiving our extra sauce and sour cream. Best lasagna I ever had!!! Super nice people especially ( I wish I could remember his name) the guy at the register. So outgoing and pleasant . He wears a hat and an earring . .
