The tub and shower pan needed to be replaced, so we took it as an opportunity to upgrade the bathrooms and bring them up to code as this condominium community was built in 1985. This was our first experience remodeling our condo. Our project manager was Nir. I am pleased with the materials used. They are pretty and luxurious! The bathrooms feel so fresh and modern. I get many compliments from friends and neighbors. I love the style. I think the remodel will add value to this home when we decide to sell it. I appreciated Nir's flexible schedule, his capacity to problem-solve and his rolodex for suppliers. The contracted workers and team members were also friendly and conveniently met me physically wherever I wanted for shopping, payments or meetings. Like someone else mentioned, a true test of a contractor's workmanship is not immediately after when everything is still brand new and shiny, but after years of use. I renovated my bathroom exactly 7 years ago. And since then I've had multiple issues with the bathroom where I had to basically get it redone by someone else. Starting from the pocket door they installed but kept getting stuck and never opening properly, to the shower door that had to be completely replaced for the same reason. But to be fair, the shower door was installed by a vendor they recommended and not directly through them since that was an item I paid to the other company. And then there was the ceiling leaking because the lights were not installed correctly over the shower. Through all these issues I never bothered to write a negative review til now because honestly I prefer to write only positive reviews. But now I have a leak in my garage which is coming from the bathroom that was renovated. After further investigation the leak is coming from the shower because it was not properly water proofed. I don't expect the bathroom to not have any issues. but within 7 years, I've pretty much had to fix everything again. I would not recommend working with them if you want quality and long lasting work. Very unfortunate since this was my first ever home renovation at the time and it's really left me cynical about working with contractors in general. read more

We took a chance and hired FVR to design and remodel our two bathrooms, replace our waste pipe, and epoxy our garage in 2020. It was a long 5+ months of having a crew here almost every day during the pandemic. This project took longer than needed because one of the project managers said there was a "larger" project in a "bigger" house to work on. That was unprofessional. However, the main reason I'm giving them a low rating is because their workmanship was awful. I'm not sure where they get the subcontractors but one of them was wearing a polo shirt from another construction company?! Also, the quality of bathroom fixtures is now peeling and fading. My garage floor is awful behind the washer/dryer. They just seem like a big scam and I would avoid using FVR! read more

Stay FAR away from this company. We had a full remodel done by this company and completed in 2022 and we are still finding issues in 2025. I've been reluctant to post a review in case they retaliate by not coming back to fix the problems... There is not a single room in the house, including our hallway, that hasn't had an issue. Every time we find something new, they try to gaslight us and make us think we are being a nuisance calling them out on their poor job. To keep this from being too long (trust me, this isn't even everything): 1. They advertise being the complete package (architect, structural engineer, interior designer, project manager, contractors, foreman), but we were left to practically design ourselves, run out to purchase materials for them, project manage, communicate between the foreman and the company.... We paid a premium to NOT have to do these things ourselves. 2. They did click-in floor from the outside of the walls to the middle of the room so they had to cut and glue pieces of board in the middle. It was obvious they did it wrong but they already installed all our kitchen cabinetry on top of it so now we are left with band-aid fixes instead of them just doing it right the first time. 3. They installed our range hood by screwing it straight into drywall (no anchors). A couple years after installation, we noticed the tile behind it was breaking and the range hood looked askew. I found rolled up scrap paper inside the range hood (I think to fill gaps??). When we told the project manager to have someone come look at it, the project manager tried to say the sagging of the range hood was normal because we live on a hill so the land shifts.... The contractor comes to investigate the hood and goes back to his truck to get something, then the hood falls off the wall while I'm standing there! I had to catch it and wait for him to come back to help me hold it so it wouldn't come crashing onto our range. That contractor had to have me climb up his ladder to unplug the range hood while he held it up since they only sent him without a partner. The range had to be pulled out for them to reinstall the hood, and they pulled it out by the inner framing of the oven. We've discovered our oven has power but doesn't heat now (when it worked fine prior to this range hood mess) and instead of sending someone to look into it, FVR's blaming us for not telling them earlier. We just aren't able to test everything under the sun when they make so many mistakes that we can't keep up with them all. 4. They swapped the hot and cold on our washing machine and we had been ruining our clothing for a good year before we realized something was wrong with the heat settings. 5. They installed a recessed light and never connected it to any switch. Had to have them come back and cut open drywall to connect it. 6. They took out our HVAC intake and told us a toekick one would be sufficient. Our heating system kept shutting off after a few minutes once we had to start using it in the winter. We had them look at the issue and they recommended a new furnace. The heating ran okay for that season (error messages on our thermostat did still come up but they said it was fine) so we thought it was acceptable until the NEW furnace they had us purchase just completely gave up the following winter. It took them 4 months for them to fix our heating. (Resolution: they had to find another location to cut another intake, which is something that they should have been up front about when we first started construction, not 2 years later) 7. They helped us put in an electronic lock on our front door but because they didn't align the door properly, the lock kept malfunctioning. First, they told us we need to push the door firmly from the inside to get the door to shut properly, which makes no sense because you can't do that when you are exiting the house. They, again, also tried to blame this on our "shifting land." They essentially had to redo the door installation but the holes for the door frame screws are pretty much stripped now so the door sags and we can't even fix it ourselves without replacing the door frame. 8. They made us buy double the square footage of our house in floor boards. We had two massive piles left over and we had to foot the restocking fee of 25 percent for FVR's negligence. 9. The water diverter for our shower came off the wall and they originally tried to accuse us of being too rough with the shower handle. When they came to look at it, they found that their contractor cut an inner screw too short, glued the cut pieces together and reused it, which is why the shower handle worked for a year or so and then just came off the wall after the glue failed. read more

It's been 4 years since our remodel. The shower tile and waterproofing were incorrectly installed. Water has gotten through the cracks and tile is bulging from the wall. We are having to pay for a complete redo. We contacted FVR and they said we are out of warranty and it's not their responsibility because "we passed all inspections." We just finished a room addition (with full bathroom and walk in closet), basement excavation, and accessory unit construction on our house with FVR and are thrilled with their service, communication and attention to detail at every step. Ruben met with us initially to discuss the scope of the project and he provided a reasonable cost and timeline for completion, while answering all of our questions (having never been through a remodel like this before, we had a LOT). Once we decided to go with FVR, a What's App thread was started immediately with all key players on the team - this thread was used constantly throughout the process to deliver progress pictures, ask questions, note permit approvals, etc.. so everyone was as up to date as possible, at every stage. A couple larger additional projects arose during construction (complete re-wiring of the house, and new roof), and Ruben gave us a great deal on both projects. In fact FVR constantly went above and beyond making sure we got what we needed, charging only marginally over what was initially quoted. From start to finish our project took about 10 months to complete (initially quoted 6-8 months, but a permit had to be reissued causing a slight lag in timing). I have a fairly complex full home remodel which required x-raying the concrete floor and drilling deep down into the foundation since i have post tension slabs. I got a few estimates from several companies on Yelp and they all gave me a pretty large price range. I met with Ruben from Future Vision Remodeling and he gave me the best price with a flat rate, instead of a price range like the other guys. Having a flat rate gave me peace of mind since I know exactly what I would be in for. Ruben also stressed that he would not nickle and dime me if I needed to make some modifications midway through the project. Naturally, I was a little skeptical. A few years ago we did a simple remodel of two bathrooms in Menlo Park with FVR. By the time we finished the project we just wanted these folks out of the house. After a few years I felt it was necessary to share our negative experience and how poorly much of the work has held up. Specific issues; 1. Substandard workmanship: a. Heating vent under the house was left unconnected--I was heating our crawlspace and not the bathroom for 6 months. This went undetected until I went under the house for something else! b. Looking in my attic, the electrical work to hookup the bathroom fan is clearly not up to code--junction box is not closed and there are multiple exposed wire splices. c. Gang box for the newly installed light switch is clearly not level and out of square. 2. Numerous examples with low quality finish carpentry: a. Gouge on a newly installed sliding door from the aluminum frame--supposedly fixed then recurred. b. Spackle and paste used to patch the casing around the door frame where it contacts the bathroom tile--looks terrible c. A supposedly 'straight' wall that was rebuilt by FVR, clearly bulges with an obvious curve in the baseboard. d. Sloppy work on the plumbing cover plates for one toilet--half smeared with paint and not attached to the wall properly. 3. Low quality of painting: a. Two slightly different colors of white used in one bathroom with sloppy caulking around the trim. b. Numerous blotches of paint on hardwood floors around the hallway baseboard--the kind that would be easily have been avoided by using masking tape. 4. Sloppy personnel and poor cleanliness: a. Folks were working while we were on vacation, and we came home late in the evening to find construction debris scattered in our front yard including razor blades, paint on our front walk (where stains can still be seen). b. For a year afterwards we found trash (food wrappers & empty bottles) behind the bushes or buried in the shrubs. c. I saw workers 'free handing' a circular saw for trim and baseboard--where one guy would hold the boards and another would use the circular saw. For sure not a safe or effective option--just glad nobody was hurt at our house by these substandard practices. Nobody could be bothered to bring a jobsite saw. I will add that we pointed out most of these issues to the company reps while they were happening-- most responses 'Just an honest mistake' and/or 'We will send somebody over to fix that'. At a certain point you stop trusting anyone from the company and just want these 'less-than-competent' folks out of the house. The customer shouldn't have to check all these details--especially about heating/plumbing/electrical work. Would not ever trust this company again to touch our house. read more

Our back-burner bathroom remodel got fast-tracked when the existing shower leaked into an adjacent closet and bedroom, sprouting mold everywhere. We met with a number of different general contractors and chose to work with Asi Edri and FVR because of their diligence in answering our questions (in particular, what would happen with our antiquated plumbing). Asi was the only one to bring a foreman onsite to take a look at the plumbing in our house. He was also the only one to mention mold remediation-- per the CSLB, general contractors can't start until ALL of the mold is gone! This was our first serious remodel job so we didn't know what to expect. As I understand it, different contractors give you varying levels of support in the shopping phase-- even going to stores with you for some. With FVR you're basically left on your own with an (incomplete) list of items to shop for. Though this can be intimidating, you really do need to personally think through every detail and find your own suppliers. You can often times get the help you need from the suppliers anyway. Case in point: we bought our tile from Tile Shop across the road from FVR's HQ and were very happy with their prices and guidance. Because the leak had damaged flooring in an adjacent bedroom, we were able to use it to store materials. I don't know how we would have managed if we were only remodeling our (small) bathroom alone. Despite that, the pile of materials still ended up a bit of a black hole-- I naively piled on materials there assuming the workers would figure out what is supposed to go where. Don't do this. You need to spell out where everything is going to go and make sure nothing "disappears". We had a couple of instances where they asked us to buy additional materials and we ended up finding what they needed in the bedroom already later. FVR will setup a WhatsApp chat to communicate with you. It was a convenient way for us to ask questions but the actual workers working on our bathroom weren't on the chat (and didn't speak English in any case). That meant that when there was any ambiguity encountered on-site, they would just improvise around it without asking. This is great at keeping the project on schedule of course but can result in the wrong materials being used (e.g. schluter strips) or materials not used at all. For example, we ended up with the lower drawer of our vanity getting butchered to get the plumbing to fit. I'd purchased a flexible drain line for this exact problem but neglected to tell them about it and they didn't ask. Caveats aside, this is still a five star review because the actual workmanship was excellent: the tiles lined up beautifully and everything functions as it should. Shout-out to Carmello, our foreman, for figuring out how to recess both the shower valve and the mirror which the previous home owner had not been able to do. Having purchased an older home we've hired a few contractors over the years and this was easily one of the best home improvement experiences we've had. We love our new bathroom! read more

Future vision sent a well dressed lady to our house for consultation on a full home remodel.. She brusquely asked what we wanted to do (I had already explained over the phone: Interior, exterior, wiring, plumbing, the works) and she immediately threw out a quote of 280-340k. Gave me her business card and left. We were on my front porch for all of three minutes. Over a week later and no follow up. Maybe I wouldn't have found this weird if we hadn't already spoken with six other general contractors, who sent project managers, designers, or the owner themselves to talk for up to two hours: inspecting all parts of the home, taking measurements, photos, videos, showing me their ideas on iPads, discussing costs, timeline, scope of work, etc. These contractors consistently gave costs between 450 and 500k. Anyway I figure this company can't be taken seriously. read more

It is very important to us on how he listen to what we want and how we visualize our dream kitchen. Renovations Included: Full Kitchen & guest bathroom remodel, flooring, 2 new window additions, change of 2 existing windows to sliders, replacement of entire back stucco wall of home, new cement pavement on side yard, new recess lighting. Our experience started with another contractor, but we learned working with an individual contractor is more work as you need to work with multiple contacts & if you don't have much experience with renovations, it's a lot of homework and errors you make along the way. After changing some renovation ideas, we decided to hold off and look for another contracting company that had in-house contacts (structural engineer, designer, contractors, etc.) as we needed to start a bit from scratch again. We interviewed 3 contracting companies & due to our first meeting with Itay and comparing reviews, we decided to move forward with FVR. They had in-house contacts & Itay would be our main POC so this would save us some stress. Within the first few weeks, our experience was not what we anticipated, & we were quite unhappy with the type of communication we would receive from Itay. We have different forms of communicating & while I ask questions to know the 'whys' if something is going to cost me more money, he would not always take the time to explain this which began causing miscommunication. Our other issues began when we would go over what work was occurring each week & an immediate jump to charge us more money was his default, instead of reviewing our original contact to see many items were included on the contract and if anything was not, he could provide us with a quote for a potential change order. It became frustrating enough for both my husband & I as we would feel as though we had to argue to prove that he told us one thing, when he would deny it. After some conversations would begin to rise, Itay would say he would "throw it in" when in fact this was not the case since, we were told they were included. We decided we needed to escalate this to management as we were to the point of leaving FVR completely. I reached out to Stella (Production Manager) & explained the situation. She researched the issues further and resulted with an option to work with our foreman, Ruben Rivera as our main POC. We had already been working with Ruben as he would be onsite more frequently than Itay & the little conversations we had at the time, proved he would be a better communicator, so we decided to give this option a chance. From that day forward, we no longer officially worked with Itay (he remained in the background) & we solely worked with Ruben. What a different experience we had with Ruben, and we are so grateful that we decided to stick with FVR. Ruben not only consistently communicated with us in a thorough & professional manner at ALL TIMES, but he also walked us through any new issues that were flagged & ensured we understood exactly what was going on. Ruben not only met our expectations but FULLY EXCEEDED them. I also watched how Ruben communicated with his amazing team & would see how he also took the time to watch them work and walk them through anything when they had questions. I appreciated this very much and this is why his team is amazing at what they do! His team was always professional, arrived by 8am and didn't leave until 5-6, even 7pm some nights, including working Saturdays! These are a few of the contractors that over-exceeded our expectations with the great work they did! - Oscar installed our cabinets to perfection and was our main contractor on most of the jobs. - Leo was our electrician & did a fantastic job! We had one issue with some flickering, & he immediately fixed the issue. What I appreciated the most is his accuracy of the recess lighting being installed with the right measurements! I would see how he double checked his measurement and work to ensure it would be done the right way. - Francisco did an amazing job on my backsplash! I had to reorder a new box of marble as I was short & of course, it was much whiter than the rest of it all!! But I spoke with Francisco to see if he would use some of the old cuts & new, which of course will take more time, so it would balance out & he immediately said he noticed the difference & already started to pull the original pieces to mix it up. It turned out beautiful. - Rafael was with us a lot of time, consistently working hard on everything from interior to exterior! In the end, we could not be happier with the outcome of our home. It's simply beautiful & without Ruben, we are unsure what new obstacles we could have experienced with starting with a new company. With no reservations, I HIGHLY recommend working with Ruben as he has excellent communication, high level of patience and really loves what he does. Our condominium had decades of deferred maintenance (also known as benign neglect.) When we finally decided to do something about it we interviewed a number of services and chose Daniel from FutureVision because of what we felt was his commitment to full and timely communication. Nobody wants a contractor who won't respond to queries or just disappears, with Daniel we certainly did not run that risk. We always knew where we stood and our messages got prompt replies. Bonded and insured as well, important to us because of the amount of work being done. His answers to our concerns were always "I can do that", along with some very much appreciated "How about this?" suggestions. It is a small space, but he gave it just as much attention as anything larger would receive. This was our first time redoing an interior, and his extensive experience help guide us to make decisions that we now feel make the finished project a cut above what we would have considered on our own. His designer, Aya, did a heavy lift bringing the kitchen out of the stone age and into this century, we really liked her work. Indeed, we really like the work all the way through. At our request, Daniel and his great team ended up touching almost every surface in the place, new floors, showers, electrical, patched and painted walls - even an unanticipated subfloor that had been damaged years ago and is finally up to code. All permitted too. Especially impressive was the attention to detail at the end of the job, going the extra mile to leave us satisfied seemed to be a particular concern of his. We added about 300sq ft, remodeled a kitchen, and knocked down a few walls for our renovation project. Prior to FVR, we had an architect who was designing a plan for us, but he couldn't tell us how much things would cost. After we finalized the plan, we shopped it to various places. To our dismay, the plans which we spent a lot of time (and some money) on were wayyyy out of budget. When we met with FVR, Itay sat down with our plans, asked us what we wanted (another bedroom and bathroom, and a kitchen remodel), and asked us our budget. Then, he started sketching some rough plans, and within an hour or so of back and forth, we had a plan within budget which looked great to us! Yes, real-time feedback on our plans WITH ballpark pricing! Once permitting was complete, the estimated time for the project was 6-8 mo. More on this later. FVR got us through the permitting process. While we were waiting for the city approval, we worked with their designer on the details of what we wanted, colors, fixtures and finishes. We've never worked with a designer, and I gotta say, it's SO much easier when you're presented with 2 color choices, and a rationale about why either of those colors are good. In previous projects, we've spent way too long trying to figure out what shade of white (thank you, Swiss Coffee). Also, a Whatapp group was started with all of the FVR folks, and communication was primarily handled through that (along with phone calls and visits, of course). Our project manager, Itay, was extremely responsive. Like, usually within a few hours, most times immediate, and I don't think it ever exceeded 24hrs for his response (okay, maybe once, but he told us that he went camping for his birthday for the weekend, and I left a message there for him to get upon his return!). Having pictures, examples, video clips, and a record of the conversation was really, really helpful. Permitting got completed and we moved out end of April, and demolition immediately began. It was FAST. I mean, much of the demo was done in like, 3 days or less. We visited the site fairly often, answered questions, asked questions, and were able to provide our input on a variety of things. Our project manager would let us know when he was onsite, and we got to know the general contractor as well. Our project was mostly completed and we moved back in at the end of July. JULY. Yes, April to July is 3 months. YES, IT WAS FINISHED EARLY! Contractually, we were supposed to be done in October-Dec! Itay was moving the project forward and several teams of contractors would be on site at a time! There were some finishing things to do after we moved in, and some little tidbits that needed to be addressed, but the team was very responsive, getting things tweaked/fixed well within a week. We've been living here for about a month and a half, and things seem to be working just fine! Pros: -Real-time and immediate feedback around ballpark pricing for the job. This was extremely helpful. -Extremely responsive and clear communication. Whatapp group is great. -Finished AHEAD of schedule! Friends/family swear they've never heard of this before, and that it's the opposite. -Not the most expensive, not the least, but we wanted to have piece of mind and less headaches when doing this renovation. Yes there were unforeseen/unexpected costs, but FVR was reasonable in helping us complete the project and do all the things that needed to be done for the project to be successful. -Very responsive to requests even after the job was completed to correct all the small issues around workmanship etc. -Gave suggestions when issues came up but never pressured or upsold us. Cons: -Again, not the cheapest. But you get what you pay for. Though, I think the quality and communication were WELL worth it. -Had some issues after the construction was done, but I think that would happen on any job. I've definitely heard nightmare stories of issues arising after the job is done, we haven't yet encountered anything like this. And if we did, I'm confident FVR would address it. My house needed to do remolding last year. I contacted Future Vision and they responded quickly. They sent ROI to hour home. Roi is very professional and gave us a lot of thought and advice. We like him and want to let him be our Project Manager. We want our kitchen a whole new look because it was a very old lady. And we also do half our bathrooms. We change our carpet to the floor. We also change our giant wardrobe doors. After over two months of work, our project is done. We are very satisfied. 1. ROI arranged all the things. From designer to the contractor, the city permit. We really save a lot of energy and time. We just contacted ROI if we have questions or needed to know something. That's convenient. I didn't spend much time on the remodeling thing. 2. ROI's entire team looks nice and easygoing. The designer Liane is excellent. The contractor is very easy to talk to if we think something needs to be fixed. So we are very enjoyable in the whole process which is very important. 3. The result is nice. The new kitchen looks beautiful and good to use. The color of our floor is excellent because it goes with our furniture and the style of our house. 4. I remembered one thing. One of the doors which we ordered didn't come for a long time for no reason. I called the Doors company hundreds of times. That's very annoying. Roi helped me a lot, he himself contact the Door's manager and made very big progress. I very highly recommend FVR. And will work with them again in the future. I am a repeat customer of Future Vision. This time, I contacted them for a sunroom and patio project. Itay Perez was the project manager for this one and he's really awesome - gives an action plan, follows up, shows up and talks to those who do the work. I wished he was there for my home remodeling as well. Project was finished on time. Small issues with the windows were addressed efficiently and effectively. REAL FVR Customer We just can't believe the number of four and five star reviews. (I've heard FVR arranges to delete poor reviews so I'll be watching this) This has been nothing but a five month cluster. They tout communication, "journeymen" craftsmen and attention to detail. No. No. And NO! The project manager we were assigned has zero construction experience other than being a "runner" for FVR. The constant lies by him and his lame attempts to charge us more money and explain away shoddy workmanship are unbelievable. The first foreman we had had fewer skills than I. His crew seemed to have been picked up at the local HD parking lot. They had to tear out our flooring SO many times, we nearly ran out. So many other instances that it fills a three page complaint sent on March 16th. THREE PAGES! SINGLE SPACED! Here are just a few: Cabinets not plumb so dishwasher wouldn't fit Broke our chandelier... and tried to hide it! Tried to charge us $5000 when they found a sheer wall in the kitchen... it's code in CA! Texturing on walls had to be done over & over. They couldn't do a simple med knockdown texture Tried to mount the mantel without finding the wall studs Power and gas to fireplace exactly opposite of instructions PM said that they spoke with the fireplace installer and it was OK... they hadn't! There's SO much more. OMG! In spite of this they kept the PM on and there have been nothing but continued issues since. So... we had a problem with an outlet on the kitchen island. Tiik it off thinking it simply needed to be replaced and this is what we found. Not only a horrendous attempt at cutting an outlet box, but the box tabs had been cut off and the outlet itself was wrapped (for "safety"??) in PLUMBERS TAPE! We just bought a house! Hooray. We then learned that the house had fire hazards... those tubes and knobs wiring (ugh). We learned from multiple opinions that it's best to re-wire everything. Especially since we have a 6 month old daughter that will be exploring every part of the house. From Yelp, I used the "request quote" for "my projects." I received multiple options. One of them was Future Vision Remodeling. It had the most 5 star reviews and their team seemed like an excellent choice. A representative came over to the house. It was quite different what i imagined as he pulled in with a Tesla. I may be perceiving the situation critically, but cmon we would prefer a humble worker that can work with our budget. He gave us an estimate of $40,000 and advised us that we MUST replace everything. It gave us a scare since we had a house inspection months ago, and now it's not satisfactory? Bottom line, we did not go with FV. There was a lot of potential. Young guy. He's got a lot of good stuff ahead of him. However to me, it's all about the relationship. We were looking for a guy we can call for help, and have a humble work relationship with. It's likely not a one time thing as we'll probably do a bunch of house improvements moving forward. It was also unprofessional when we told him that we're going with another contractor. He was texting us multiple messages how their company is the best. And that their quality is excellent. That we were going to regret it. They have 5 stars blah blah blah. It really felt like an awkward breakup. Glad we didnt proceed with them. I'm sure they're good.
