The food was good; but I have had better. I had the scallops special with a side of spicy broccolini. It was little too spicy and over powered the broccolini. I think it was over priced for what we got. The environment; however, was gorgeous! Service was on point, which it better have been as we were the only ones there until half way through our meal.

We ate here for Thanksgiving the service was not good. I was unable to have my water glass filled and that was all I was drinking. I believe Luca was our server. I had the mushroom cavatappi with shrimp and my husband had the turkey breast lunch along with the beet salad and Caesar salad. The dining room and hotel look very nice.

Great service. Very nice and professional staff. The food was great. The best food. The grouper was really good. The lamb chops were juicy. The risotto was tasty. The dessert was sweet. The restaurant was beautiful inside the hotel. Music from the lounge was nice it was live . Our server was great. The manager and hostess were too. We really enjoyed the food and service

Flourless chocolate cake. It is humongous!!! And v rich. Outstanding.

Service is excellent and friendly but not obsequious. Great cocktails and wine list. I had the foie gras terrine that was v good and generous portion. The main was tile fish. Disappointing as the fish was v dry. Stand out was the flourless chocolate cake that was rich and decadent. I would give it 3.5 because for fine dining, the main needs to be excellent. And v heartbreaking because app and dessert were outstanding.

Appetizer - PEAR SALAD - Great taste and wonderful portion. Nothing bad to say about the salad but it wasn't overwhelming great either. Nothing necessarily special. SHE CRAB SOUP - The soup was very good. This is what I will be getting every time in the future, great balance of flavors and not at all "fishy". 10/10 for the soup. Entree - Shrimp Burger - I have never had a shrimp burger to compare but i cant imagine a better one. The lemon aioli paired perfectly with the burger. This is a must have when you come here. Kings Club - Average sandwich to be honest . Nothing bad to say but nothing great once again. Definitely not bad by any means, but not special. Dessert - The macaroons came with an entremets in the middle, quite amazing the raspberry and lemon mixture was well balanced and provided a very light and delicious dessert. Service - 10/10 super polite, exchanged silver-wear and plates promptly and checked in often. We only gave it a three because of the following... - Choices were very limited... more of a clubhouse vibe with very great service and a top notch chef. - Fries were once again clubhouse level, no truffle or extra options. But I would like to say the service and preparation of the food that is available was a 5/5.

Upscale, fine dining restaurant located within Hotel Bennett. I live in Charleston and have dined here several times and the service and quality of food is always consistent. They offer both indoor & outdoor seating options . The dining terrace overlooks Marion Square and is the perfect spot to take in the sunset on a cool Summer evening. If you want to dine outside make sure you request this with your reservation. The hotel does not offer free parking but you may be able to catch an open meter along King Street. As of April 2021, meters are free after 6pm. The hotel does offer paid valet. As of April 2021 the valet rates are : $40 - Overnight Valet $12 - Day Rate (for guests enjoying the spa or dining) $18 - Event Rate (for guests attending a hotel function) Be sure to check out Hotel Bennett's rooftop bar Fiat Luxe as well as their champagne bar , Camellias before or after your dinner at Gabrielle's.

Now that we can enjoy the incredible ambiance of the indoor dining space at Gabrielle and the Hotel Bennet I felt an update was in order. Elegant and refined space with the true ability to talk to one another (harder to find than it should be!). Great lighting and changing seasonal decor makes for wonderful photos as well. Service by JD and maitre d' was spot on. Never rushed or overly conversational. Great wine list (some amazing Pinot from Williamette Valley). High point of food choices were the crab cakes , truffle frites w lemon aioli, and risotto with shrimp added on. Chef trying a new bread service- I missed the baguette but everyone else asked for more of those corn muffins. If you have a special occasion to celebrate- I love this place. It will not be cheap. It will be memorable.

We had dinner here when on our first night at Hotel Bennett. At the end of a long travel day, I would have thought we would have loved anything and everything we were served. My gnocchi was tasty... yet drowning in sauce which made the butter flavor overwhelming. The Camellias signature dessert had great texture and taste... so at least there was a sweet ending to the meal. Service was phenomenal. That said, we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, so we didn't have anyone competing for our server's time.

Sad "lump crab" croissant. It was a very bland crab salad with no lump meat or crab flavor.

Gabrielle was disappointing. The dining area is not as nice as the lounge. It should have been a sign when the dining room was empty for a Sunday brunch. My $18 Cinn-Fully Delicious cocktail was just fine. It was nothing special, and I didn't care to order another. For lunch, I ordered the $24 blue crab croissant. It was advertised as "lump crab." There was zero lump crab; it was a bland crab salad that had no crab flavor whatsoever. The croissant was stale, which is ironic as I thought these were made in-house. The side Caesar salad was adequate. An hour later, my stomach was hurting. I wonder if the 'crab' was bad. Service was attentive. We asked for individual checks. For some reason, our server split our bill equally among the four in our party. We asked for her to please re-ring it so each of us paid for what we ordered. This took quite some time for her to redo the bill. I won't be back, and I can't recommend anything about this restaurant apart from its prime location and beautiful interior.

My friend said the tomato pie was really good but it's all cheese and tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were crispy but needed seasoning. They were incredibly bland. For the main dish she ordered the smash burger and I ordered the fish and grits. She took one bite of the smash burger and sent it back saying it tasted like a frozen burger you'd get at Walmart. The fish and grits were ok. They too were bland and needed salt. A LOT of salt or any other seasoning. The okra, Lima beans and corn that come in this dish also tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. There is no seasoning in this dish whatsoever. Unfortunately this place was a miss and we won't be returning. Also the bathrooms look like a porta potty. You know the cheap plastic that porta potties are made out of? Yeah that's what the stalls are made out of. It looks so cheap and a big contrast from the rest of the restaurant. The staff was nice but they also look like they hate working here.

Since it's owned by the same Hall family behind Hall's Chophouse, we were excited to give it a try. We had reservations but asked if we could sit at the bar instead, which ended up being a great choice. Our bartender was incredibly sweet and helpful when it came to choosing what to order and made us feel welcome from the start. There was also live music that night, which my husband was especially excited about since they were playing 80s covers. The menu focuses on Lowcountry cuisine, and everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the clams and then shared the pork chop and BBQ tuna. Every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cocktails were smooth, well made, and paired perfectly with the meal. To make the evening even more special, our bartender brought us two glasses of bubbles to celebrate my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Great food, great drinks, live music, and genuinely excellent service. It was the perfect way to kick off our Charleston trip. We were staying at the Meeting House Inn so were able to easily and leisurely walk to lunch and dinner. Service was excellent, true Southern hospitality, and the restaurant is adorable. Food was amazing, each of the four of us loved our dish and tasted each others as well: - shrimp and grits - 5/5, plentiful and plump shrimp with a flavorful sauce over creamy grits. This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! I want the recipe!), two of us ordered this one and again, i got a bite and want to order this for myself next time (see the problem here?) The combination of flavors and textures was amazing. It was solid but not something to write home about (or on Yelp about) - corn muffins - 5*5, i'm pretty sure the corn muffins came as the "bread" for the table and they were so yummy! I don't have any other she-crab soup to compare it to, but I can say it was absolutely delicious. Consider me a fan. After five days of enjoying Charleston's incredible food scene, we were looking for a lighter lunch since we were planning to splurge later that evening at Halls Chophouse. My wife and I split the southern tomato pie and the chicken salad wrap, and the combination was perfect. Our waitress was very nice! She was very helpful with her recommendations and very attentive. My husband and I both ordered drinks and my daughter ordered a Shirley Temple. Her Shirley Temple was extremely grenadine heavy, which I think they assumed they were doing her a favor, but she was a bit overwhelmed by how sweet it was. They serve it with a Sprite instead of Ginger Ale, just FYI. For dinner, I of course had to order the She Crab soup. Believe the hype! It was the best She Crab soup I had in Charleston. It was sheer perfection. I ordered the Skillet Chicken Cutlets and my husband had the Braised Beef Short Ribs. His dinner was delicious, the short ribs were so soft and tender and just melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the few bites of his more than my chicken, even though my meal was still good. There was A LOT of corn with my meal, but everything had such a great taste to it. We rounded the dinner off with a piece of Pecan Pie and vanilla ice cream which was very good as well.
