Great food...just not great enough to make up for the repulsive service. The Gaetano's on Penny Packer has perfected its food offerings, but the owners really need to take more care in the hiring of employees. In our most recent visit, there were two girls behind the counter, yet neither felt the need to acknowledge us or take our order. After a few minutes of waiting and listening to them argue about what ticket went where and whose food was whose, I asked if we could place our order. The blonde motioned to the brunette (short hair and glasses), but she was too busy texting to care - she couldn't even look up from her phone to acknowledge us. The ordering process was just as painful. We had to repeat each item several times, as the brunette's eyes drifted each time her cell phone dinged. When we ordered Panzerotti bites, she said "I don't know if we have those" and just stared off space with no inclination to follow up to see - the only reason we got an answer was because the grill chef overhead and confirmed that yes, they do carry them. After completing our order, I was immediately concerned that our order would not be accurate. Somehow the pizza and cheesesteaks were finished a good 15 minutes before the Panzerotti bites and waffle fries - I'm still not sure how, considering both of those items are simply thrown in a frier for a few minutes - but that caused our food to sit on the counter and get cold while we waited for the rest of our order. And I was right being concerned about the accuracy, as the cheese pizza somehow turned into a pepperoni pizza and the waffle fries were drenched in the wiz we had ordered on the side. We dealt with the pizza, but asked for a new order or waffle fries with the wiz on the side, which the grill chef took care of. As we paid for our $60 takeout, I mentioned to the brunette that being new and not knowing is ok, but customers do not appreciate being ignored for texting. She immediately became combative and insisted that she did her job perfectly and did not make errors. Unfortunately, errors are all we saw and no matter how good Gaetano's may be, $60 worth of cold takeout and the waste of an hour of our time to get it is just not acceptable. There are plenty of other local businesses that would be happy to have our business. Note: I worked in a local pizza shop in my teen years. I have been a Burlington County resident for almost all of my life. Therefore, I'm so familiar with the Gaetano's Italian restaurant (JFK). One thing that you could always be sure of, back in the day, was that you were going to get the most for your money! A small sub could feed two people. A medium Sub could feed three. And a large sub could feed a small family. This is what I remember about coming up in my local area. Gaetano's was famous because of the portions they gave you, at a reasonable price. Well, as for Gaetano's (Pennypacker), that is definitely a thing of the past and currently not there standard! About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a large hoagie from Gaetano's. Not only have the sandwiches gotten smaller, but the price has totally outgrown the sub! The large turkey and cheese hoagie that I ordered only fed myself in my daughter oh, and it cost me $21 and some change. No sides or specialty ingredients whatsoever! It was just the sandwich. When I questioned how high the prices had become, the people running the store try to tell me this has been their prices since forever. As long as I have been a customer, I knew that this was not true. I did purchase my sandwich because they had gone to the trouble of making it. Awful phone etiquette from who ever answers the phone. Decided to order from this place from a referral by a co-worker. First experience was so-so didn't think anything of it and the food was amazing. Called in a few days later wanting to try more options with their menu and the girl on the other line was horrendous and an awful human being Called in and a girl picks up and says thanks for calling please hold. - didn't think anything of it Picks up and I ask her if they are still delivering and she goes no where done for the night. - I get it I'm calling 45 minuets before you close and it was an honest question. Then I said cool I'll just place an order for pick up. And I hear crickets on the other end of the line I moved on from the interaction and ask if I can get the penne pasta but with chicken instead. She goes NO. - no reason behind it, just NO. Frustrated enough I moved on and ask if I can get a Stromboli with chicken. She goes where out of dough... Then I hung up. I spent many Sunday's ordering a cheesesteak and onion rings from Gaetano's right before an Eagles game. I'd argue these steaks are some of the best in South Jersey. Onion rings are always hot and greasy, just as I like em. My steaks are smothered in cheese, onions, and mushrooms. The only real downside was the customer service. It would definitely have its off nights from time to time. Aside from that, great place to pick up a cheesesteak on the go. read more

In November of 2017, I got my first lackluster meal ever from this location. I just dealt with it. This past April, friends told us not to order from this Gaetano's, as the offerings had become lacking in quality. We got food from their other location on Beverly Rancocas Road, and the food was good. Late night calories can still be had, you just may have to drive a little further. read more

We placed a phone order for sandwiches. So far, no problems at pick up or check out. Then we got home and opened our very expensive cheesesteaks. ($15+) Lots of very TOUGH steak cut in strips, not chopped up and mingled up with cooked onions and cheese like a real Philly cheesesteak. My friends and I were sooo disappointed; these were awful! What happened to this place? Used to be the best easy take out in the area. This was the 2nd bad experience and last to spend money there ever again and I've been a patron since the 80s. Ordered an Italian hoagie and clam strips with no fries. Get home and I've got a pile of fries and a measly small handful of strips. I call and say hey, I asked for no fries and the girl says yeah, the guy didn't read the slip. Want us to make you another one? What? Do I WANT ANOTHER ONE? I didn't want what I got. What happened to we're so sorry, we'll get what you ordered together right away, please come back. This place is a dump and the time I went there before it was all bread and hardly any steak in my sandwich. Gaetano's is a Jersey hotspot for cheesesteak's but in my personal opinion I have had better. Whether it's the pizza, subs or salads there is nothing about Gaetano's that screams 'TRAVEL TO TASTE'. They are known for giving huge portions and that is all. You have meat falling out of every end of your sub, cheese overflowing the pizza, and more meat and vegetables in your salad than salad. BUT WHERE'S THE FLAVOR? What is most dissapointing is that they actually take the time to make the food but it tastes like freezer burned, aged meat (whatever!) Dont get me wrong the salads are tasty but who wants to spend $10 on a salad? I can make my own the exact same way. This is not a CHOP't takeout. so, two hours ago (8:22pm), we ordered a simple cheesesteak and curly fries. Guess what this mom-and-pop shop couldn't produce?? Now, it is 10:26PM, and the store is closed AFTER we called and it poor excuse of a life/call receptionist stated "oh yeah, he's on the way". You literally have to be the must undedicated, uneducated most irresponsible business owner in the food delivery world to run a business like this. If a driver can't find a home, they should call and confirm the order and recipient. Your portions are generous, but bland tasting. It is a WEDNESDAY night, and we can't get a simple order. 1 hour and 35 minutes for delivery. But they sure do charge you card as quick as they can. I hope this is useful to those wanting a good food experience. Had to call back to see where the order was and they said it was in the oven. Cheesesteaks in the oven? They were right one was charcoaled when it arrived. Onion rings not hot and just shoved in the bag not wrapped. They said the order will be there in a less than ten minutes. It was but after an hour and a half. The young lady who took the order was not attentive and was slightly rude. Utterly too long of a wait by any standard, utterly mediocre food at best and utterly bad customer service. Was sad to see some recent poor reviews, and since I (and my co workers) frequently order it was time for an update. Every time I call the employees on the phone are very courteous and pleasant. Sometimes there is a wait but that's Ok! They are clear, and repeat your order, good customer service. I highly recommend the cheese steaks. I know there what they're known for and this is for a reason. I personally I'm head-over-heels for the chicken Caesar cheese steak. It's a little different, and it's worth a try. We always like to order the pizza because it is consistently good. It has a nice thin crispy crunch to the crust. We are also big fans of their pickles lol. I love the French fries here because the way that they package them they always arrive nice and crunchy rather than soggy. Will continue to order from here and hopefully next time I review I can report back on some of the other offerings. read more

Just my opinion.... I loved the food at this place. You get a lot for your buck. However the decor is very outdated if you want to dine in. Also when dinning know that it's wait. Our food took 30mins before it came to the table. The desserts on the menu are not home made. The pizza in the glass container looks very old so I wouldn't get pizza from this place. The girls at the register are very young and can get snappy if you take out your debit card too slowly. Would I go back? No. However if you live in Willingboro try it out for your self. They do not chop up the meat on the cheesesteak, so you're swallowing unflavored dry chunks of meat. Called in our order at 8:20 and were told an hour, no big deal, heard it was worth the wait. At 10pm Our order still had not arrived so I called the restaurant, they picked up the phone and immediately hung up. I called back and a rude girl answered the phone, "we're done for the night." I replied, "not quite, we are still waiting on delivery. She inquired and said the order left a long time ago and quickly blamed the driver Adam. They have upped the game. Their mini size cheesesteak has become perfectly proportioned. The grease no longer pours out when you tilt the sandwich. I will say they are sitting at the apex of Burlington County Cheesesteak game. Italian hoagie is pretty good too. French fries are good. I grew up in Willingboro. I was eating at Gaetano's since it was over top of the Schwinn bicycle shop on Charleston Road back in the 70's, before they even opened their first shop in Pennypacker. I moved to NY, Mississippi, Baltimore and now outside of Washington DC. I used to always look forward to coming home and getting a Gaetano's Cheesesteak sub. 10 years ago, I wouldve placed my newborn on the counter in exchange for what was, at the time, the greatest cheesesteak in the world. There was ABSOLUTELY NO reason to travel to Philly because Gaetanos had MASTERED steak and cheese in my own town. I knew a guy who moved and asked us if we could MAIL HIM A CHEESESTEAK from Gaetanos in a thermos...thats a true story. They were unfairly good; criminally good. But it's been a steady decline since then, and it's to the point I don't even eat there anymore. It used to be used as a reward that if you got straight A's or cleaned your room, you could have Gaetanos. People would show up to your party JUST BECAUSE you had a gaetanos steak. Now, it's a sloppy, soggy, under-seasoned debacle. They stopped caring and have coasted on their former popularity like they're Angelina Jolie. It's like watching the sun die. Both locations are a shell of their former selves and it couldn't be sadder. There was a time when I would drive to a strangers house, pick them up, and drive them to Gaetanos just so they could experience the joy. This is my favorite place in Jersey to get a cheesesteak. My husband took me here for the first time over 10 years ago, and anytime we're in the area, we stop in to eat. Their steaks are enormous! A small is definitely two meals at least. Unlike what other reviewers say, to me they still taste really good; just had one today. Terrible!! Waited over 30 minutes for drinks and asked to be helped and were ignored. We just walked out and no one said a word as we left.

Andy is back on his game and still has the best steaks around even of the other Gaetano's. He now has an eating area attached so party hardy and I know he will treat you right. In respect to a delivery problem, I suggest you tell Andy immediately and I know from experience that he will make it right. AND IF IT IS LATE don't tip the driver and call Andy immediately .Also I must say that you can't beat the price v/ amount and quality of the steaks plus the delicious rolls.
