Staff are friendly but the food is mediocre at best. The breakfast buffet is very basic, they advertise donut dili dry but packaged nasty donuts. Food is very basic, no bacon on the two days we were there. Inquired about Nutella and was told they only get it infrequently because it is so expensive and the kids go crazy for it. Dinner was had very basic standard offerings , soulless offerings. The place has no soul, If you have a choice go elsewhere. It's fine for dinner if you are stuck in the hotel and cannot get anywhere else. No idea how this place gets above 4* average. read more

Food was decent. Service was very slow and unprofessional. It took over an hour to get our entrees and server continued to disappear for long periods of time. The restaurant was not busy for the service to take this long. On top of that the server could not read his own hand writing and came back to ask what I ordered to drink because of that. To my surprise he did that a second time for my meal as well. The decor was interesting with a lot of skulls. The napkin holders were actually skulls. Nice ambiance, very much a middle of America restaurant. Food-wise, nothing was that sophisticated or great (from a foodie that food from all over the world), but not bad either. The salmon was a bit too creamy, and the chicken Parmesan recommended by our waitress as the best dish on the menu was nothing that tasty. Loved that kids meal was priced very reasonably, especially for those of us traveling and don't have a sitter. Service was pretty slow for how not busy the restaurant was, but staff were all very friendly. 3 Star for food, and 5 Star for Ambiance and service. read more

Let me start by saying the food is amazing. Very pleased with the chicken Marsala and the veal ravioli. Not the best I've had but very good. The theme made no sense at all. Pirates and Italian food? The pirate theme was very cool and the atmosphere was kinda fun but it was super out of place. The service left some room to be desired. We got a reservation and when we walked in (9:00 on a Sunday) it was not busy at all... maybe two other people in there. No one was at the host counter and it took about 3-4 minutes to get someone's attention to be seated. We were seated in the bar which was fine but the whole time we could hear the wait and kitchen staff chatting about lord knows what very loudly and the bartender was telling someone at the bar about how he didn't understand the pirate theme either. This would have been a bit more understandable if we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was busy. Really we got reservation and no one was there and we weee still seated in the bar? And the host even lit the candle at our table and told us it was to add ambiance. Last thing was I ordered a Sierra Nevada pale ale which was listed as a draft beer on the menu. I'm pretty sure I got a can of beer pored into a glass as it was only about 3/4 full. I'm giving it a 4/5 stars as the food really was very good and the price was very reasonable. I was between a 3 and a 4 but since we came late in a Sunday I don't want to negatively affect the average since again the food was surprisingly good. The vibe was way off though. We will likely try it again in a few months during a more busy time to see if we have better results read more

Went to dinner with wife and cousins. Dinner was amazing, the stuffed mushrooms were delicious. The live piano music was a nice touch. The key lime pie and the orange sponge cake were well worth it as well. Wife love her spaghetti and meatball entre, and I had the chicken parmigiana which had a very good marinara sauce. Had a reservation, only table was next to the hostess stand. Ordered rigatoni and bread. Rigatoni was over cooked and in pieces. bread arrived after the meal was done. While it is attached to the Best Western, don't be fooled. The food is real authentic Italian cuisine. Tastes fresh and full of quality. Fun theme and decorations. Good wines, great appetizer, and really enjoyed the mushroom-sage soup. Pasta was cooked properly, with sauces that didn't over take the meal. Just awesome. Lastly, the service is top notch. Went for breakfast. Food was cold. Pancakes would not let butter spread easily let alone melt. Felt like the breakfast plates were made from their breakfast buffet leftovers which closed about an hour or so before we arrived. Scrambled eggs were like powdered eggs. Potatoes very greasy. Really wanted to support this local business to help them do well. Spent over $50 for the two breakfasts and coffee. Totally not worth what we paid. Did let server know about the cold food. First off, we were greeted at the door with a " we've been waiting for you. Glad you got here." The service was outstanding. The waiter had a great personality. The atmosphere was casual but elegant. We thought we might have been under dressed but we were assured we were fine and we saw many other people in jeans. We started with stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. These were amazing. Probably the best we have ever had. Then our dinner arrived, Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parmigiana. Both were excellent. To finally get our bill, it was two hours and I had to hunt for the waiter and tell him to bring the bill. I asked to talk with the owner and he never came out. I came to have dinner with my family and it was amazing. As soon as you step inside the restaurant it is beautifully decorated in pirate theme. We had Joe as our server. He had great customer service due to his attentiveness and charisma. We each ordered separate dishes and were fascinated by how delicious each one was. Gambi's has a lot to offer. The Food: with their variety of food to choose from, all are excellent & really tastes good. The Service: excellent service too, they all make you feel important and they are so friendly and serve you the best. The Ambience: oh wow really nice place, big & not crowded. We stumbled on this unassuming Italian restaurant /sports bar attached to a Best Western and found hidden treasure! I had the chicken parmigiana and husband had shrimp alfredo. Service was great! Decor cheesy but so much fun. Also, the seating was very comfy, that's hard to find these days. My husband ordered a burger, looked fantastic, and he said it tasted wonderful. Had an out of this world thousand island dressing that was made in house. I had the arancini, red sauce was balanced. Also the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette with salmon. Salmon was perfectly cooked, not under cooked, and definitely not over cooked. Got a Yelp suggestion about this place and it was spot on! Don't let the location fool you the space is awesome! The pirate theme is all through the restaurant and is put together very well. Many large TV's all around and a good size bar area. Multiple tables for small or large groups. The service is top notch. Our server Mark was attentive and funny. I appreciate a place when other servers/managers come by just to see if you need anything. Food is great. Started with the captain's mushroom. Mushrooms cooked perfectly not too soft and the sausage was very flavorful and not too spicy. My wife thinks black pepper is spicy and she enjoyed these. I went with the chicken parm which was massive. Perfectly cooked the meat was juicy, the breading had a great crunch, and it was covered in cheese. The sauce was a little sweet for my taste but still good. I could only finish half the portion was so big. Wife went with the salmon with a lemon/caper pan sauce over mashed potatoes and it was excellent. Dessert was the Kahlua chocolate cake. Very moist and not overpowering. Overall great experience and VERY reasonably priced we are definitely coming back with some friends. I travel a lot with my kids to sport tournaments around the country and if a hotel had a restaurant like this in it, I would stay at that hotel just so we could hang out and have dinner/drinks with the other parents. read more
