So for the last 3 days I've been wanting a power pack the one piece one gold edition. I've been watching this location for said 3 days, they had 2 in stock, and there the only store for 60 miles that has ANY in stock. And thats a MILITARY BASE gamestop, i do not have access to. After that its 90 miles away. They NEVER have one piece tcg in stock, target does, yet they claim to receive it. The manager constantly wants to upsell, bro its a Corp, chill. Anyway I decided this morning to buy the last one after the 2nd of the 2 sold yesterday, according to the manager, 17 hours ago, and at 917am, 45 minutes before they even opened the item magically was no longer available and unable to be found, manager "suspected theft"​​​. Canceled my order at 917am. I think they said they wanted it for themselves and just canceled my order or they simply didn't want to look for it. How's this store still running with the terrible customer service? There are multiple games not tagged correctly and the customer service from the other employee who wasn't Juan clearly showed he did not want to be there. Lack of information, sloppy throwing merchandise and just lackluster in approach. It's obvious Juan is having to juggle multiple people. Was informative of the deals however isn't too familiar with the deals themself. There were a few people who went to purchase that had the wrong prices as shown on their boxes as well as hiding hidden charges without going over what they are until caught. 2 stars since I did hear Juan explaining each card deal and promo. Got turned away after a far drive and a long unnecessary pokemon card line. My wallet is lost and i have no id. I have a valid paper id but no picture. I dont believe you need a picture id to buy a used game. Selling is different. Not cool to get turned away for a game thst was hard to find online and in the city. read more

I know nothing about games. My son recently started to get into it so he needed a new controller and headset. They were very helpful at this store! We purchased a controller at another GameStop and I told him how it wasn't working and he informed me they would buy it back (it was 2 years old) and they did! Even broken! We purchased a switch pro controller in Buena Park, CA about 14 months ago at the time we also purchase a 2 year PRP warranty for it. Went into this store today to use the warranty due to joy-con drift on said pro controller. This store in Chula Vista Broadway said the ONLY option was to give us a REFURBISHED controller for it since they don't make the Super Mario Bros. Running Mario controller anymore, and GameStop recently changed their warranty policy so that they can now choose what to give you in exchange. I explained that wasn't the case when we purchased the controller + warranty, and that this is a bait-and-switch scenario. In addition to receiving a refurbished good we had to surrender the usb Nintendo charging cable. Pretty much we were going to end up with a USED/ REFURBISHED pro controller and NOTHING to charge the unit with. Please explain to me how this makes sense when we paid $59.99 for the pro controller and $22.99 for the 2 year "product replacement plan." Needless to say we left with our damaged controller and went into a different GameStop that DID honor the warranty that we had purchased for the controller. This store needs proper training, they didn't even scan the original purchase receipt or take a closer look into their system to see that we were entitled to a new controller. GameStop website states "THE TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS PLAN IS THE PURCHASE PRICE YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT; IN THE EVENT THAT THE TOTAL OF ALL AUTHORIZED REPAIRS EXCEEDS THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR WE, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION, DECIDE TO REPLACE THE PRODUCT WITH A PRODUCT OF LIKE KIND AND OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE." This means we get a controller that is the same price as the original purchased price, not half the price. I have been shopping at GameStop for years and I have to say that I have never received such great service like the service I was provided at this location. Upon entering, Brandon C greeted me with a smile and was welcoming into the store. He could tell I had a question so he approached me to see if he could help out. He was very attentive and really made me feel like I was the most important customer he saw all day. After helping me out he wished me a nice day and invited me to come back anytime. I will definitely be coming back to this store even though it is a far drive just so I can get the service that I received from Brandon C on Labor Day. I will start by saying that I know Nothing about games. I use my PS3 console for Netflix and that is the only function I can manage. So when the remote control started acting up I went to them and they were very helpful in determining what was wrong. The 5 stars go to JOJO and her staff! She was very professional and super friendly. She not only fixed my issue, she took the time to take out a console tested different remotes in front of me and gave me the best customer service ever! She also told me that If things still didn't work, I could bring the system down and she can take a look to see what's wrong. This to me goes above and beyond just selling you stuff. Went in a year ago and purchased a used Nintendo 3ds. I tried returning it for tradeback value recently and they said it didn't have a serial number. I only played the system a couple of times and never peeled any stickers off so basically they sold me a system with no serial number. Game Stop is definitely a beginners choice in video game purchases but i found that the customer service would take advantage of unsuspecting consumers that had no knowledge in video games. on top of this, they would ignore me and cast me aside when i would ask about a specific game. this seems to be a common trait among GameStop's in general. read more
