We ate at Gandolfo's during a DJ event at Klyde Warrent Park. The line took 45 min and the food was cold.

Well I guess I just ate an $11 Reuben. Soggy rye bread on one side, and burnt to a crisp on the other. Pastrami already cut up and delivered in a vacuum sealed bag. Shredded provolone mixed into the pastrami bits and heated up to the point where I had to let the whole mess sit for several minutes, exacerbating the soggy bread problem. The sauerkraut and Russian dressing were adequate. It's just one of those meals you lose interest in after a couple of bites, but will keep eating until the moment you stop feeling hungry. For me it happened a little over half way, with the other half finding the garbage. To be honest, the sandwich wasn't terrible. Probably on par with a Reuben from Arby's. The difference here is that Arby's has one for $4.99. After tipping a couple bucks (I hate doing it before I've received my food, but feel like a prick if I don't) it came out to $13. I'm really baffled by that price point. Is that a food truck a Denali? Do the guys working in there command a six-figure salary? I know this is Dallas and $11 for a sandwich isn't that uncommon. However most of the sandwiches I'll pay $11 for more than once are actually worth it. I'm sure many other people feel the same way, and will go somewhere else the next time the truck rolls around. Lastly, has anyone noticed that none of the trucks driving around uptown directly compete with each other? Go to other cities that have had food trucks for years, and you'll see at least a couple kebab trucks on every busy street (which are usually delicious and cheap) In Dallas we have the "New York" sandwich truck, the Butcher's Son (a Texan sandwich truck I guess?), a sushi truck, cajun truck, Vietnamese sandwich truck, and several others. They all have similar trucks, similar graphics, similar pricing, and honestly there isn't one I would review any higher than Gandolfo's. I'm assuming Dallas had restrictions on food trucks in certain areas, and apparently whatever corporation franchises these things got the permits for the best spots when they started popping up a couple years ago. I'm an Aggie and I try not to say anything good about Austin, but go check out their trucks and tell me if the ones up here could compete. The sandwich on its own warrants two stars, but the insulting price compels me to give it one. Don't eat here. read more

I have never been to New York, but if they have sandwiches like these I need to go. Only criticism I have is that their menu is so big, it makes deciding on a sandwich really difficult. Not a bad problem to have because everything they make is amazing. read more

Food was amazing!!! My son had the chili cheese hot dog and I had the reuben. It was all perfect and we look forward to eating their food in the future. We definitely give it a two thumbs up. read more

Was hoping for a really great NY style Reuben from this food truck at Klyde Warren Park downtown (visiting the fam) but was disappointed. The classic reuben I ordered had almost no flavor, like the corned beef had been sitting in water all day. For the price I paid, it should have been much tastier. I've had better reubens at Denny's. We LOVE this food truck, which can constantly be found at Klyde Warren Park. It's almost not fair to the other trucks, because the sandwiches are so good, it's tough to venture out and try the other trucks. The Big Apple, New Yorker, and Little Italy sandwiches are ridiculously good, and the whole subs are large enough to split. There's also a double meat option...just say "deli style". The sandwiches take a little while to make, but be patient...it's worth it! The staff members are super friendly too. Two thumbs up! read more

Pretty good... Had a turkey avocado club sandwich!! Meat was shredded deli style... Hubby had meatball sub.. When they say maranara sauce it's not, it's just tomatoes lol but good... They come on Wednesday's to Camden design district.. For a great sandwich, this is a great truck ! read more

Gandolfo's - Delis Near Me - Dallas, Texas

In my quest for a great corn beef sandwich in Dallas, I saw the yelp review two years ago. I finally made it to Clyde Warren Park for lunch and spotted the truck. I set myself up for low expectations for this lunch, as I thought no way could this truck have great cornbeef. Oh boy was I so WRONG! The meat was very tasty and ( I hate this word ) moist :). Very pricey and the food was mediocre at best. We got two 1/2 sized Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Nothing else. $15.77 was the bill. Not worth the price. read more

My son and I shared a turkey sandwich which was tasty but totally fell apart while we were eating it. Perhaps not the most convenient for food on the go.
