The menu here is similar-ish to Halal guys, but the quality is way worse. And the prices are way higher, as expected in the airport. The actual food line was super disorganized and chaotic. The two people working the line had no system whatsoever, so the orders took a long time. They were out of some things but couldn't be bothered to tell the customers, so my order came with some components missing and I was not informed or given the chance to make a substitution. Food was ok. Not very fresh. My fries were old and limp. I think I would have enjoyed it much more with fresh fries and better tomato/cucumber on the gyro. Lord have mercy , I broke my heart to see a man struggle to purchase a damn gyro here with his airline voucher. It was clear that the lady knew how to handle the transaction but watched him struggle for several Minutes before coming out and helping him while holding everyone else up whom probably had planes to catch. The food did not look like anyone that knows about Mediterranean food cooked it. I was looking for something healthy to eat on my trip home. I love trying falafels whenever I travel, but never tried them in an airport. Garbanzo has a lot of options from bowls, to sandwiches to the plate I chose. You choose your protein, and other veggies for this plate. I chose the falafels which he fried up fresh. I added some salad, rice and the sauteed squash. First of all, it was a lot of food. The falafels were flavorful, but a bit more spicy than I am used to. The rice was really good as was the squash. The salad was fresh but I could have chosen a dressing that was less bland. When I pass through here again, I will check out their gyro plate. I'll go for more of the squash for sure. read more

I frequent here often, as of the last 6 months the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. The plate got smaller and smaller and now they charge $2more dollars if you want a plate at all. Almost price gouging if you don't want bread that's not right. Not sure if the quality of food is worth paying the extra fee. Decided to try Garbanzo passing through Atlanta's International Airport. The staff wasn't very very helpful or friendly and seemed like zombies going through the motions. I think the staff would be great on "The Walking Dead!" I ordered the Mediterranean Burrito with chicken, falafel, humus, tomato - cucumber, yellow rice, tabouli, and Mediterranean garlic sauce. The Burrito was huge! I had to use a fork to eat this monster! The ingredients tasted fresh and well seasoned. The falafel tasted very good! There's a huge selection of options to build your meal, all of which looked fresh and tasty! I would rate the food a 4 for taste and value and the staff a 2 for lack of friendly interaction with customers. This is a food court option on the D Terminal at the Atlanta airport. I gave it a try after readIng a couple of recommendations for it on yelp and I was not disappointed. I had a salad with mushrooms and I choose the tahini dressing. I also had a side of pita- warm, chewy, and yeasty! In search of real, whole foods is a challenge in the airport. I figured Garbanzo would fit the bill because it's menu features traditional Mediterranean dishes - hummus, pita bread, rice, baba ganoush, lettuce, cucumber & tomato salad, orzo salad, mushrooms, chicken, steak, gyro meat, with a variety of toppings. I was standing behind a flight attendant and she even remarked how hard it is to get veggies on the road. This place was her go to spot and everything was tasty. I was sold. Then as I got closer to ordering, my concerns escalated. Here's where they failed: 1. FDA Inspection - 74 or 75 score. I should have left right then and there. Just way too low for establishments in or out of the airport. It was a dilemma to get the fried stuff or suffer through this. 2. Customer Service. I could see from the body language and expressions - there was a problem on the order line. No smiles. Attitudes. Frustration. Turns out they ran out of lettuce. Should be easy to just use another dish to compensate right? No. 3. Mushrooms count as a protein. Without lettuce I figured I'd get all veggies with chicken. That's an extra $2.25 for a small plate that's already $10. Whoa. 4. Overpriced. The shallow plate they provide and being stingy on adding more cucumber salad because THEY ran out of lettuce was a problem. My plate looked miserly and they just rushed us through the line. Still on my mission to eat real, whole foods. Likely won't return to this place until they turn it around. They have cornered the healthy market and just poo poo it away. Having read some of the reviews, I knew that the felafel wrap was the way to go. And so that's what I ordered, which had five felafel balls inside, sauces, cabbage and everything else on offer. As in "all the way". Next time, I think I'll have them skip the pickles. Otherwise, it was spicy (not hot, flavorful) and quite the mess. On my way to catch a flight and doing a quick glance over the limited food options in Terminal D at the time, I chose Garbanzo based on: 1. Speed - orders are made on-the-spot, Chipotle-style 2. Price - meals under $10 each 3. Looks - the food looked colorful, healthy, and fresh Garbanzo serves laffa, pita, and shawarma sandwiches and wraps, and plates filled with chicken, steak, and falafel (deep-fried balls made of chickpeas). Other foods served include hummus, baba ghanoush (made of eggplant), tabbouleh salad (made of bulgur, tomatoes, parsley, mint, onion), and kabobs. They also sell an assortment of vegetables and salads such as a lemon chicken and orzo salad, roasted eggplant, and Greek salad. I saw some plates prepared and they looked fantastic. I ordered an $8.40 laffa steak wrap. "Laffa" is the name of a particular flatbread (also known as taboon bread) used to make Middle Eastern street food wraps. It's essentially a large, Mission-style, Mediterranean burrito. I'm not sure if Garbanzo actually uses taboon bread, but you've got a choice between white flour or wheat. I had my steak wrap on wheat and stuffed with almost everything the stall had to offer. This included lettuce, tomato, cucumber, seasoned yellow rice, tabbouleh salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, red cabbage, tzatziki yogurt sauce, and spicy sauce. No pickles. I made the right choice because the wrap was big, filling, and delicious. It really hit the spot. The veggies were indeed fresh and crisp. Each bite was full of flavor. The steak was cut into thick strips. Some chunks of steak were tough, but never dry. The meat was savory. Due to the high number of ingredients I chose to have stuffed into my wrap, there was some sauce leakage towards the end of my meal. Therefore, wraps and sandwiches may not be best options in terms of neatness and cleanliness if you plan to take them on-board a plane. I saw a man spill tzatziki dressing on himself as he tried to eat a pita sandwich while waiting at the gate. Ordering a plate would be more practical if you're taking it to go. Napkins and disposable silverware are available self-serve at a small counter across from the storefront. Unfortunately, no tap water is available here. You're stuck with buying 24 oz. bottles of Nestle Pure Life water for $2.59 each. Sodas and other drinks are slightly cheaper. Service is very good. read more

I really hate giving negative reviews but this was just awful. First of all, the woman serving was not paying attention and put another guest's chicken kebab onto my plate. I told her that I did indeed order chicken (I guess she forgot within the 20 seconds that I ordered) and so she frantically scooped some onto my plate, making a mess. Then when I asked for tabbouli she put it on someone else's plate ... it was truly a disaster and she had no business serving people. The person checking out also did not put the lid on all the way so when the plate went into the bag it spilled everywhere. The food also was not good. It's hard to mess up hummus and olives so that part was fine but the chicken was so fatty and grisly, I couldn't eat it. It was $14 something for this plate and a bottle of water. Like most other reviews it was pretty good food with poor service. Service is about what I have come to expect in the airport. Food was above average. It was nice to have a different option. ATL airport does a good job on variety which is nice when you travel. Mediterranean is also a lighter healthier option which is good too. The build your own method is nice to. I would have liked signs on the food glass to better match up or maybe some feedback from the person building my pita. For example did I have sauce options or what was the sauce exactly? Good for airport and will likely get if connection is shorter , but wouldn't be my first option if I had time to sit or was out side. Price was pretty spot on for the airport as well. read more

It used to be great, but now it is just plain bad. The food was flavorless and my salad leaves were wilted and some of them definitely past their prime - I saw the lady pick out some really bad ones from the bowl she was making for me. This really should have been an indicator for me - I should have just left, ugh. The grilled chicken was the most flavorless kind I have ever tasted - no good grill, no flavor and my biggest pet peeve - not enough salt. I was charged extra for one teaspoon of tabouli on my salad, even though it was a substitution. The tztziki sauce was a sad white glob on the top of my salad that got all smushed and smeared on the lid eventually. Service - just terrible. The lady did not seem like she wanted to come to work and she almost dropped my salad bowl a couple of times because she kept propping it against the shelf than hold it right. She also got into a tiff with the other lady who was cleaning up the aisle for coming in her way. I paid almost $15 for the salad and a bottle of water. 2/3rds of my salad went into the trash, unfortunately. On a sliding scale of airport food that trends downward, Garbanzo is breaking the rules that airport food must be gross/overpriced/unsatisfying. Although their customer service and knowledge of menu items could use some improvement, the overall product offering - AIRPORT OR NOT - is satisfying, healthy, tasty, and not at all overpriced. Solid 3.5 stars for sure, and definitely one of the newer food offerings in ATL's remodeled Concourse D Centerpoint worth checking out. You start by choosing among a "Laffa Wrap" (like a tortilla wrap), a sandwich (in pita-like bread), a salad, or a "Plate" (like the "greatest hits" of all Garbanzo has to offer). Then, you choose your protein from chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, lamb, falafel, or some combination of the two (example: I chose a salad with "Chicken Falarma" - a combo of the chicken and falafel balls). Then, as the food is assembled and put together in front of your eyes and at your beck-and-call (think Chipotle-style ordering), you choose from various toppings - olives, onions, feta, etc., and various sauces, such as tahini, hummus, tzatziki-style sauce, and vinaigrette. They also offer various side items; we ordered the dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), and at only about $3 for 4 vegetarian, cold-style grape leaves, they were actually really good! Not too much leaf covering, well-marinated, and the only improvement I would suggest would be for them to be served in a plastic container as opposed to paper wrapped in aluminum foil, as the oil on the grape leaves stuck to the paper like crazy. Both hubby and I found the chicken and falafel to be well-seasoned, flavorful, and definitely neither dry nor over-salted. Hummus and tahini were good, not the best, but whatever. Portions were huge. Pita bread on the side with both the salad and the "Plate" option was a nice gesture but needed to be warmed/grilled; was dry and too "bready" to be legit pita. Total for two heaping entrees, side of dolmas, and a big bottled water topped out at $20, and we were stuffed, satisfied, and had happy bellies. A big change from typical airport fare. My only scoffs (other than the dolma-wrapping technique) relate to customer service - there was an employee on the line who wanted to charge my husband extra for a few olives on his plate, yet dumped 30 (we counted) kalamata olives in my salad. Way too many and definitely not cost-effective for the eatery. Also, she refused to give us a side of tzatziki sauce, telling us there was none left, even though we were looking right at it behind the counter...super odd. Maybe she didn't feel motivated enough to scrape out the remainder of sauce? We were hungry after a long flight and this place seemed to have the shortest line. (I don't understand why people wouldn't want to eat Mediterranean food at 9am. Huh.) The girls at the counter seemed annoyed that I wasn't making decisions very quickly. I mean, I get that. Everyone is in a hurry at the airport. I decided on a wrap since I didn't have much time before my plane boarded and the wrap could travel with me. I got hummus on the wrap which was a huge mistake. The hummus tasted off, just not right. I almost always get the delicious falafel, which at 5 for $2.75 are a real bargain. The nice lady even made me some fresh ones.
