Our group of 7 went here on a Monday night. We made a reservation a couple days in advanced and received the secret entry code a day before. Overall: It was a really cool experience. Live jazz music was a plus. Food was really good, especially for the portions of it. At the end we couldn't even get desserts since everyone was stuffed but happy. Best dish of night would be the Black Truffle Risotto. We would definitely come back just to get this dish alone. It could have been a 5 stars experience if one of our servers didn't seem to rush things to clear up the tables. Got asked a couple of times if dish was done tho the person who ordered that was in the restroom.. and was asked to pass the utensils to her in not a very nice tone.. Our main server however was very nice and helpful.
I had the most beautiful experience at Gaslamp! From the overall atmosphere to the staff to the incredible food-everyone needs to go to the spot!! each dish that we ordered was better than the next! The food was prepared to absolute perfection. The cocktails were also exquisite. We experienced some great entertainment that included a saxophone player and a fire dancer. For such an intimate space, they really made an impact with the experience. I am counting down the days until I can return!
Stopped in for a late nite catch up with some friends and decided to check this speakeasy out. Discreet and all the way in the back of the Kailua Pub? It's exclusively tucked away. Many varieties of speciality drinks available. Had the bone marrow, Brussel Sprouts with live music. Will be back to try more drinks and food. Waiter was very attentive to details and efficient!
Absolutely blown away. This place was recommended to my partner and I by multiple people so we put in the reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked for a password (which he could not find in his emails hot fortunately they gave us grace lol) then let in. The place was simply lit and each table had a literal gas lamp lighting the space. On the second floor there was a man playing the sax. It was SO gorgeous, Our waitress was great, we were easily influenced by all her suggestions and ended up getting a great meal. We started with drinks. My partner didn't hear her say that the bottom of the menu was "spirit forward" and ordered a VERY strong drink. It actually made for a very giggly and eventful dinner so it was a very happy mistake lol. I got the espresso martini. It was a little creamier than I expected but still tasted really good! I'd order again. Our first appetizer was the Wagyu carpaccio- topped with cilantro (the menu said dill but I saw/ tasted none), fried capers, and caviar. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, basically a meat salad. A beautiful start to our meal. Our second (yes, second) appetizer was the escargot and bone marrow. This was our personal star of the show. A complete 180 to the carpaccio. This was rich, heavy, and decadent. The tomato added a nice balance of acidity to counteract the fatty bone marrow. The escargot was cooked perfectly, no chew but soft and buttery. One of the best bites of my life. The salad it came with was just we needed with it. After this, there was quite a wait until our main entree. A fire dancer came, and danced on the bar counter. I'd say we waited a good 20 minutes until it came out. But we were only impatient because we had plans after dinner. Our main course, which we shared, was the King Arthur- beef Wellington with a side of crab legs. The crab did come out during our appetizers which I appreciated. I only ordered this because I never had beef Wellington before and really wanted to try it LOL, my partner said it was better than the one at hella kitchen! The waitress also talked us into ordering a side of Mac and cheese, and thank GOD she did. It came out piping hot and saucy. There was a slight note of truffle, but it wasn't overpowering, and a nice crust of cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. You definitely get a bang for your buck. It's a hefty buck but it's so worth it.
My experience here started rough but it really did get better through the night, and the food was the saving grace. The bad: we received our "pass phrase" to get in for our reservation, but when we arrived at the telephone door they just asked for our name...defeating the point of a speakeasy experience. Then the waitress had us stand in a very crammed and busy walkway in the pub for 10/15 minutes only to tell us they had no tables available and that we have to sit at the bar (the barstools had no backs and were uncomfortable). It was very loud and small in the actual restaurant, and as they bussed all the other tables dirty plates they were staging them right in front of us at the bar? Not really what I want to look at all night if I'm paying over 130+ per person. Fortunately someone was a no show and they moved us to a table. I recommend stating you want a table when making reservations. The food: our food came out really fast and most of it was top tier and delicious in every way possible! Although, I did not care for the crab and artichoke dip. The crab was shredded and could easily be replicated with canned crab. If it were lump crab/chunky and bigger pieces of artichoke it would be way better in my opinion. The charred octopus was good but one tentacle was very rubbery while the other was soft and cooked well, I wouldn't get this again. The Yacht: hands down the best seafood tower I have ever tried. The seafood was bursting with flavor and most surprisingly it was grilled. The meat was still warm but placed on top of a bed of ice. The variety of lobsters, crab, shrimp, and the oysters were phenomenal. The mignonette and melted butter were perfect. Dutch Veal Chop: possibly the best piece of meat I've eaten in a very long time! The veal charred to perfection and the meat was so tender. The flavors were on point. Desserts: we tried the creme brûlée and butter cake. Again, I think this is my favorite crème brûlée! The flavor, texture and toppings were perfect. The butter cake was warm and melt in your mouth. Gaslamp is very expensive. If you come here knowing it's tucked in the back of a very crammed dive bar, and the actual restaurant it self is tavern-like and you probably can't see half the food you're eating you'll be fine lol. Oh yes, there was also a fire dancer on top of the bar in the middle of our meal, which was pretty cool!
Came here for my anniversary and chose this place for the ambiance and given it was a speakeasy restaurant it would be a fun/different experience. We started our night off with the scallop appetizer which came out perfect and the flavors blended well with the scallop with some pieces of mushroom as well. For the main course, I ordered the ribeye and lobster with truffle fries, the ribeye came out with the perfect temperature (medium rare) but it was over seasoned, too salty, and it tasted really burnt. Overall, I could only eat 3 pieces of the steak. My husband ordered the French laundry which was really good (as we hoped since it was ~$200), the steak was super tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned. We ended our night with dessert, the crème brûlée was delicious and well made and very thoughtful for the staff to add "happy anniversary". The service here was phenomenal, our server was super attentive and the hostesses were also super friendly.
I've eaten at places with $200 plates of steak and Michelin star locations when I was in the mainland, and have often been disappointed. Being in the food industry for many years I believe good food doesn't have to cost that much, and I'd leave most fancy places hungry cause they give you small portions (I'm 6'6. A big dude who loves to eat). While this place is on the pricier end for my taste, I do think it's completely worth it. We ended up here for our anniversary and I think this spot is great for special occasions. It's an intimate atmosphere with live jazz music, the bartender Clark was very knowledgeable about drink recipes, the food was delicious, and the service was amazing. This place was an experience. Not just getting served expensive food. We probably spent $400 that night for 2 people, but thats what you would spend at a nice steak house anyways. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already.
We had a great time here. The ambiance was dark and moody with live music in the background. Our server was wonderful. I had the old fashion which was good. One was enough! lol. The caviar service was delicious and the Dover sole might have been the best fish I've ever had. Usually when the place is heavy on the esthetics, the food is lacking but not this place. We even enjoyed a little bar show in the middle of dinner. Great experience!
Ooohhh WOW! I think this is my favorite fancy birthday dinner so far. I am a huge fan of Mastro's on the mainland: elegant atmosphere, attentive service, live music, Flintstone-size steaks, and their sinful butter cake. Gaslamp brings that to the Windward side. French Laundry did not disappoint - it was a feast for the eyes and stomach. Watching our swinging tomahawk arrive, the beef fat drip into the mashed potatoes, to the plating, made for one very happy birthday girl. And when it came time for desserts, the last mentioned item was BUTTER CAKE. Happy birthday indeed.
Rounding up from a 4.5 because overall the food and the service and the ambiance were all incredible. We had a reservation for a fairly large party (this is a TINY space!) booked well in advance, and the staff were so helpful at communicating the policies and planning the evening to accommodate our group. Everyone LOVED the experience. The presentations were all great, the food was incredible. As one member of our party said "I love how much fire this place uses!" Torched roasted garlic, smoked old fashioned, even a fire dancer! The only thing we ordered that felt subpar was the creme brulee... it was fairly loose and lacking the signature "tappable" layer on top. The tiramisu, on the other hand, was praised as one of the best they've had. It is pricey, but it is also easy to split quite a few of the entrees as they are quite a large quantity of food and definitely worth it for the atmosphere and experience overall. Highly recommend going with friends and sharing a handful of sides, apps, etc, to be able to try more!
This was such a fun night out with the girls! If you've never visited a speakeasy for dinner, definitely give this spot a try. The staff were all kind and knowledgeable of the menu. To start, we had the baked crab and artichoke dip (this was perfect for the three of us!) and then I had the black truffle risotto and added on the lobster tail. I loved the risotto as it was creamy and not al dente. The lobster tail was a great addition to the meal and made it feel celebratory. I'd highly recommend coming here!
I'm the type of person who needs a nice meal from time to time. To me, nice means authentic kindness within service and food that's excellent as a standard. A dim room. Maybe some cool drinks. You know the vibe. Went solo and sat at the bar. Bone marrow appetizer - pretty darn good. Best parts were the mushrooms and escargot on top. Wild how you get literally just enough bread. PLENTY of actual bone marrow, which is really rich. Very indulgent. 4/5 Steak & Lobster - requested medium, got medium well. Really cool presentation, though my sweet server was supposed to be charring my garlic and ended up setting the rosemary on fire - lol. Brought the steak out again, it was perfect. Lobster was INCREDIBLE. Super sweet and tender. Would have appreciated a fresh serving, but I understand food costs. 4/5 Forgot the name of my drink, but it got lit on fire as well. Very cool. It came in a metal skull, lol. Not much to it taste wise. 3.5/5 Service was interesting - mostly really sweet folks. Would come again with friends. All in,
The better half of the world food tour duo trekked over to Kailua and met me at Gaslamp, on Hoolai St. The parking lot was full so we both found parking on the street. Hah, when I got back to my car, I found another car illegally parked behind me. So, parking appears to be an issue in this area. There is no signage outside that tells you it's Gaslamp, the signage says Kailua Town Pub and Grill. You have to go past the left side of the bar to a door, give a wait staff the secret passcode (which I failed to remember) and be taken through a door behind you, up a steep staircase to a small space overlooking the bar downstairs. There are about six tables and it's a very dark space. Natalie was our server and we started with a Botanist gin & tonic ($18) and a glass of J Lassalle Champagne ($25). I didn't have any details about the wine, but it was not complex and was lacking bubbles. We ordered the Kagoshima Wagyu Carpaccio($32) and the Escargot Bone Marrow ($42) to start. The carpaccio was a visual treat with capers, thin slices of radish, dill, pecorino and caviar. It tasted as good as it looked. The bone marrow was even better ... two large bones topped with garlic buttered escargot, decorated with blistered tomatoes, and an arugula salad with two pieces of grilled sourdough. So unctuous, so decadent, so divine! We split two entrees ... The Wagyu Sampler (market price, it was $179), and the Black Truffle Risotto ($54). We added extra truffle ($12) and a side of Miso Brussels Sprouts ($16). The sampler came with two pieces of A5 "Snow Beef", a piece of American "Wagyu" Filet Mignon, and pieces of ribeye an NY striploin, 12oz in all, and two sauces. The risotto contained sea asparagus, mascarpone and mozzarella cheeses, Hamakua mushrooms, and tomatoes. I consider the extra black truffle mandatory ... It's not special without it. We ended our meal by sharing a Tiramisu ($12) and I had an espresso ($5). The tiramisu was very good, made in the classic style with pieces of fruit on top. There was live music ... a saxophonist played soft jazz starting at 6:30pm. It was our kind of music. Service was fine ... we asked Natalie to slow down the delivery of food, and she ensured it was so. The food was great and we enjoyed our first visit to Gaslamp. One note: they apply a service charge if you use a credit card ... It seems to be the new norm. Highly recommended (4.5), even if you must search for parking.

Having been recommended by both family and friends, I knew we needed to visit this Speakeasy, "hidden" away in Kailua. Worth the visit! Not simply because the Speakeasies have been making their comeback since the days of prohibition. There are only 4, very private, tables and limited bar seating, so it helps to make your reservation well in advance online. They will also send a confirmation with a "password" to be used at the door. We enjoyed the duck, steak, scallops, the best fries ever, and tiramisu. We found the dishes slightly overly priced, though they did not disappoint. I assume the price it mostly to make the ambiance feel more exclusive. The bartender's Nicolas Jaar playlist definitely lends to the sexy allure of this location. We unfortunately had to leave before the live music, which starts at 1900, but we'll be back! The only downside, other than the price, of course, was the music from the sports bar it's attached to occasionally seeps in, mixing with the very well crafted tone of the speakeasy itself. read more

We went to Gaslamp to celebrate my bfs birthday and had an amazing experience! The server was so sweet and attentive (I wish I got her name, she had short blonde hair), the food was beyond our expectations (we got two appetizers: scallop and the octopus, and two entrees: truffle risotto with lobster and the french laundry) everything was so good especially the truffle risotto with lobster!! I really enjoyed my mocktail and my boyfriend had Gaslamp's version of old fashion. The vibe and the entertainment with the saxophone and also the fire dancing lady added so much more to the experience. Definitely coming back in the future! It was one of the most memorable birthday dinners we had. read more
Trying a new style of review. Hark! I did venture to a fancy eatery of late, whereupon I did receive service most commendable. Yet, when I partook of the porterhouse, cooked medium as I did request, I found it to be good, yet not worth the coin they did demand. Accompanying the meat were sides of asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese, which were passable but nothing to write sonnets about. The ambiance was pleasant, but alas, the price did not match the quality of the fare. Forsooth, though the establishment was fine in its own right, the cost did leave me feeling somewhat disappointed. read more

This is our family spot to celebrate our birthdays yearly! You have to experience it! This is our steakhouse. We love Merit and his service is excellent! The food is amazing and our drinks are oh so delicious! If you like beef Wellington, this is the best one on the island! We love the ambiance of the restaurant, it truly is quite an experience! Gaslamp is a small speakeasy situated at the back of Kailua Pub Town & Grill. Upon entering, you walk to the back of the pub and approach a set of doors. From here, you're greeted by staff and instructed to give a "password" to enter (given in advance). Gaslamp itself has maybe 6 tables in total and a small bar - all food is brought from the kitchen within the pub so wait staff is frequently entering and exiting. One thing I will note is that it is VERY dimly lit - they have two small lamps on the table, but they don't provide much light. If you're like me and you struggle to see in the dark, you'll be relying on your phone flashlight for some of the meal. We ordered the seafood platter (small) to split. It came with an assortment of raw and cooked seafood that we all took tastings of. It honestly was a perfect appetizer for 4 people as we were able to sample a bit of each. I enjoyed everything on here except the poke, unfortunately. It didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. The steaks we ordered were good, but unfortunately not cooked the way we had requested. We enjoyed it nonetheless, as well as the sides we had ordered. Drinks were creative, fun, and tasted great. For the price though, I'm not positive I'd be quick to return, but it was definitely a unique experience. read more

My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary and reserved for 6:45pm . We got inside 5 min prior to our reservation time and they made us wait in the pub for a good 10-15 min due to our table not being ready yet. There are only about 5 tables (give or take) in there so it was understandable but we just felt like we were standing in the way of workers walking back and forth between the pub and Gaslamp. The drinks were nice and strong and definitely their own twist on regular drinks which was cool and refreshing. Their twist on an espresso martini was so good . The food on the other hand , for the price ... not really worth it . My favorite dish we got was the Wellington . We also got the bone marrow escargot dish but were kind of disappointed as the bone had very little marrow like barely any. Just a couple pieces of escargot on top. BUT Great experience as there was a live saxophone player playing during our meal he even came down to our table and played us a few songs . Felt very nice and intimate. The atmosphere was great just a little small for my liking . I would probably come back to take some friends to experience it and for the drinks not so much the food. read more

LOVVVVVVVVVVVE this place!!!!!! I wanted to be selfish and not post anything because I want this place to be a hidden treasure. However, it is just too good! It is like a speakeasy; first time I've been to one. The outside gives you no indication of what you will be stepping into. It's like a regular bar/restaurant. Until you step into the back. You will have to have reservations so you can be given the password for entrance. The setting is very cool and dark. Your tables have little gas lamps, hence the name. It is a very small venue. Maybe about 6 tables. However, there is an extensive bar selection. The staff are very attentive, personable, professional - all of the positive adjectives you can think of. Now for the food: we started with a charcuterie board. My first. Oh my word! The best cheeses I've ever had! I didn't want to finish the board because I wanted to save room for my entree, but I just couldn't help myself. Luckily, I was sharing it with my husband he himself is not a big eater. My hubby ordered the yacht and thoroughly enjoyed it. He couldn't finish it though as it was just so much to eat. I had the steak Diane. I normally don't finish my steaks. I usually bring half of it home, but like the charcuterie board it was too good I had to finish it! I live the roasted garlic bulb, too! We ordered the crème brûlée because it was my aunts birthday they added a special touch to it. We loved every part of our visit and cannot wait to make another reservation so we can have the Wagyu tomahawk and definitely another charcuterie board!!! read more

Magnificent. Truly one of, if not the , best dining experiences I've ever had. Off putting that you have to walk thru a standard pub, but well within the "speak easy" persona. Food and service are Michelin quality. The fire dancing performance was fantastic. What an awesome experience. Will visit again, without question. read more
This restaurant has been on my list of restaurants to visit. Since it was the misters birthday, I decided to celebrate his birthday here. First all, I'd recommend making reservations before heading there. This restaurant is located in the back of Kailua pub and grill and it is very small. A few other things to note before you dine at Gaslamp: All guests within the party are required to order an entree or an appetizer equating to the amount of $30, or be assessed a cover charge in this amount PASSWORD: will be texted out to you via text message approximately two hours prior to your reservation DRESS: Gentlemen are required to have closed toe shoes and a collared shirt. Ladies dress to impress, no bathing suits or gym suits. LATE: If you are 15 minutes or more late, your reservation may be altered to a later time or cancelled TIME: We allow 2 hours for parties of 2 to 5 guests, and 2.5 hours for parties of 6 or more The entrance for the restaurant at the back of the pub near the bar. There is a folding door with a "telephone"sign above the door. Upon entering the restaurant, it is very dark and intimate. You are greeted with live jazz music and very friendly waiters and waitresses. Later in the evening, during there was a live fire dancer performing on the bar. We started off with drinks and ordered the spotted cat. Nice spin on an old fashioned and we enjoyed our server preparing our drinks at the table. After contemplating what to order, we decided to order and absolutely loved the following dishes: Diver sea scallops with caviar - scallops were large and I enjoyed the caviar and garlic herb oil topping. Lobster crostini - these crostinis were loaded with lobster and we also loved the spring salad served in this dish French Laundry I cannot tell you how amazing these dishes were! The French laundry (wagyu tomahawk) was well seasoned and very flavorful! For your first visit to Gaslamp, I'd highly recommend ordering this dish. Lastly, we enjoyed a Lilikoi cheesecake to celebrate the misters birthday ! It was such an experience dining here and I'd have to say the vibe, service and food were outstanding ! I'd definitely dine here again and can't wait to try other items on their menu! read more
I think I have been to Gaslamp at least 3 times now and its always amazing. Who would have thought that tucked in the back of the pub would be a dark vibey little speakeasy with great food. We've had just about everything on the menu but our favorites are definitely the crab crusted opakapaka, the king Arthur (beef wellington + snow crab claws, and the diver sea scallops. Pro Tip - If you just want the beef wellington and not the entire king Arthur deal, you can order it ala carte! Cocktails are also really good and unique. The bartenders and servers kill it and are really helpful with any questions or suggestions. One downfall is the time limit! But totally makes sense with the speakeasy vibe, gotta get the next reservations sat. Make sure to make your reservations early as they fill up fast! read more

This is a speakeasy. It is a small room in a bar at Kailua. I wish I paid attention what bar it was. They have live music and a great ambience. They only have several seats so reserve early! Good place to drink and eat a tomahawk steak! Their lamb was really good too! read more

All aboard this darker themed speakeasy. Hidden away with a secret passcode, you enter a darker vibe filled with dim lighting and red light books. Live jazz music with a musician tucked away at the top of the freezer. This was my second experience with a speakeasy and it's definitely different. A more sophisticated vibe. The staff was friendly and definitely knew how to strike up a conversation. Take the time to enjoy their food like this oyster half platter. I didn't order any drinks but their selection is large and even allows you to take shots with the bartenders. True mixologist who literally smell the aromas of your drink prior to fully serving. True alchemy. Book your reservation. Pay the price. And enjoy. read more

Very cute. Very demure. Very mindful. Very kind staff and the food! Omg! Amazing! So yummy and flavorful. I was impressed with everything. Only thing that sucked is you had to sucked is you have to walk past a bunch of drunken idiot military people inside the pub to get to it and to leave. They should have a hidden exit so that you don't have to deal with that once you enjoyed such a amazing experience inside the speakeasy. read more

We came here for my brother's birthday. Such a cool intimate speak easy all the way in Kailua. This is located in the back half of the Kailua pub! Dress way more swanky than you would for the pub. It's a tiny spot, handful of tables. Dark inside with nice mood lighting. The decor feels like an old library mixed with a bar in a rich persons mansion. The service was great and food came out relatively quick. There was nothing ordered that we didn't enjoy. We had the octopus, ahi, and bone marrow appetizer. For mains I had the truffle lobster risotto and the husband got the steak. Everything has delicious, portions were a good size, and prices are very reasonable. The risotto was huge, truffle shavings a fun presentation, and so rich and flavorful. My husband liked his steak which was cooked as requested and very tender. For dessert we had crème brûlée and my brother had a chocolate dessert. Would come back here again for a special occasion. Oh, forgot to mention the jazz player on the upper balcony which is perfect and sets the tone nicely. One day we'll try the huge tomahawk they're known for. read more

Our 3rd speakeasy and the best one yet. It was a night to remember! I love this 1940s vibe and cozy feeling. I got the steak diane and my husband got the French laundry amongst other yummy accompaniments. Everything was cooked to Perfection with lovely drinks. We live a town away but only heard of this place from some friends. We had great customer service despite being 10 min late and nervous after reading some bad experiences. The only cons was my husband didn't like having to leave our credit card info for reservations and we felt a little rushed towards the end having to order our desert takeout. If it was extended from a two to three hour reservation, I feel even the workers won't feel so rushed too. Now we know what we would order next time, we would still would come back. Mahalo gaslamp for putting our music request in too, My funny valentine! Tip: if you make reservations over the phone make sure you stick to it! I wish they told us but there is a canceling fee. ===TL;DR=== - Hokkaido nights cocktail - Honestly forgot the names of the dishes I've ordered so just show them the photos :D - Good luck finding this place (shhhhh) - I love how they text you a secret code to enter ===TMI=== 100% if I ever visit Hawaii again, I will come back to this place. Like how cool is this? Typically it's just a speakeasy bar but this is a hole in the wall (literally). A restaurant INSIDE a bar - totally my vibe. Dim lights, jazz music, candle lit ambience all in a restaurant with a bar. This place can literally fits all types of occasions. There's even a dude up the latter that plays music for us. Food and drinks were great. Love the variety of steak + seafood options. Go nuts at the menu and stay classy ;D P.S. gotta love the bartenders/ workers there. I gave them a hint hint nudge nudge that it's one of my friends bday and that guy whispered: I got you. How many candles? Me: one for each slice of cakes. -momentary later- Dude: hey sorry we ran out of (that many) candles. Me: -giggles- it's ok. read more

This place was amazing and unexpected. The food was incredible, from the appetizers to the entree. I had the mushroom risotto with lobster and my husband had the steak, soo good. This is literally a hidden gem! Once inside it's amazing to not hear anything outside of the room. The limited lighting and seating, relaxing music, and secrecy of the place really played into their great ambiance. Service was outstanding. While definitely on the pricey side, this place is worth the splurge. First we started with delicious cocktails like Mother Mayhem and Gold Vest. Honestly, Mother Mayhem was my personal favorite and I wish I had ordered it twice. It's a perfect blend of tropical and sweet, but not too sweet. I'm not a bourbon fan like my bf is but he throughly enjoyed his Gold Vest. Next I had Sushi in Mexico and it went down well but the mezcal definitely has a strong kick. My bf had the When in Rome and I felt it was a perfectly balanced drink. Not too strong or overpowering in the sweet department. Very refreshing. We kept it light with appetizers as we weren't thinking and had eaten beforehand. The prosciutto bruschetta (say that five times fast) was delicious, but I do wish the bread had been toasted. Although I understand the oil from the garlic confit would not have soaked the bread as easily, the bread just wasn't as fresh tasting as it could have been. The dipping sauce for the garlic truffle fries was a must as it tasted like caramelized onions We highly suggest the panko crusted mac and cheese as it was actually light and creamy. We ended with the chocolate mousse and my god that was the best chocolate mousse I have ever had. It was dense yet looked and felt light and fluffy. Absolutely a must try!! read more
Dinner experience was awesome had his place as one of I have to go to place a what a perfect time and was for my birthday dinner starting from the drinks to the appetizers was a good start dinner made even better. Perfect date spot. The food is so delicious and worth the investment and experience. Really love the ambiance. The music and service was on point. It is a small spot but perfect as a speakeasy. Interesting place that my sister-in-law visiting had discovered despite my nearly three years living on island. Parking was painful. They have a small, free parking lot out front shared with other stores and marked spots but all were filled the night we were there. I found someone pulling out of a very tight spot I wouldn't have ordinarily parked in. I'm not sure where else I would've parked had it not been available. We arrived on time but had to wait about 10 minutes outside. The restaurant entrance is inside a bar so we waited outside for them to escort us back. It's a very small restaurant with I believe 5 tables. A good portion of the restaurant is taken up by another huge bar that nobody can sit at. The lights are dimmed to where you need a flashlight to read your menu if you have difficulty seeing. Yes, we had them out. I didn't take any pics of the food figuring it wouldn't do them justice. The food and service were wonderful but a little pricey. We ordered steaks and seafood, and all ate without complaint. Our server answered all questions and then some. Given the vibe and comparing it to other places of the same atmosphere, I was expecting more but didn't get it. No role play, no secrets, no passwords, etc. Maybe it was just me letting my mind run with the moment. Overall, it's a good restaurant where you have to wait outside to be escorted to your table where the lights are dimmed and you're one of a select few dining. read more

Delicious food and drinks. Ambience adds to the experience. We started with drinks and appetizers- lobster bisque and barrata, both amazing. Dinner was scallops. Small portion but more than enough after another two drinks and the appetizers. Worth a try if you're visiting. If you're a local it be a great special occasion outing. read more
If you want to experience fun dining, this is the place. You have to make reservations. They text you a secret password 2 days before your reservations. You walk all the way to the back of the restaurant and give the password before they let you in. The place is very small. A bar and 3 dinner tables. Cocktails were definitely good. I had the Mother Mayhem. My son and I shared the Tomahawk steak. They burn butter on the hanging steak and the bottom is the mashed potatoes catching the drippings. Lobster risotto was delicious. The lilikoi cheesecake was also delicious. Why 1 star less? For the price of our meals, I expect the food to be hot not cold. All of our dishes came to our table cold. I am happy with the experience the restaurant provided. But this one is a one and done for me. Servers were great though. Very nice and very attentive. read more

It's not good for kids because it is very dark and it's a bar. There are just a few tables and a few seat at the bar

Do you have to be 21 to enter?
No. You pass through the pub for entry but any age can be in the restaurant. My daughter is 12 and loved it. (Still, it is small and upscale & pricey so you may not want to.)
