    Ribeye

Went for dinner with my family and the servers were very accommodating when it came to our family needing to move tables for the baby in our group. The ribeye and prime steak were delicious. The edamame was supposed to be salted but didn't have any so we added our own. The restrooms did not have a changing table which made having a baby with us rough. But all in all food was good and so was the service.

We started with drinks, they have a great selection of all alcohol and some great original cocktails. I had a yuzu drink that was splendid! Then we shared the small seafood tower...it was plenty for 4 of us as an appetizer. It had all sorts of cooked and fresh seafood, a true splurge. I had the Ahi Mignon, a wonderfully fresh block of Ahi that was prepared with a wonderful sauce and seared just right...raw inside. Mom had the lamb chops, which were cooked medium to perfection. The creme brulee had the crispy crust and a soft creamy center. Our server was wonderful, very busy but always had time to dote on us. This is one of the few places that has that seafaring/Trader Vic's ambiance left in Hawaii. Just like the old Spencecliff Restaurants in Hawaii in the 70's and 80's, it brings back nostalgia. I know that no place is cheap in Hawaii any more, but this place is definitely now a splurge for special occasions. I hope I can come back one day and afford it again!

Pork chops, my best advice to you is to go after 9 PM so you can get the deep fried pork chops

Forgive me Yelp! It's been years since I've written this review- pay attention as there are many changes Icon Joey sold his interest in this restaurant. The new owners renovated the restaurant. It is now bright with new furniture and a new concept. Do not expect the "Charthouse" menu. The menu is now designed with a local and island faire That said, some menu items remain the same. The steak and seafood are what you would remember of the original Charthouse. They now serve brunch. With a main brunch entrée comes a mimosa on the house. Kamaaina discount is offered Metered parking available at a dollar an hour. Structured parking is still the same. Go there or be square!

Chart House is a great restaurant located a block away from Hilton Hawaiian Village, with a nice view of the marina in front of it. Our party enjoyed each of our meals, I wish I had more pictures of how well-presented the food was. I was on a non-stop rave about my Ahi Mignon from the moment I had it to now; I've never had anything like it. The restaurant also starts you off with fresh bread. A couple of the people with me got the crab cakes and loved them, as well as the scallop and shrimp scampi. The food is the pricey side as it is in Waikiki, but the food is very fresh and very well made. The staff greeted us when we walked in and when we left, and were always refilling our water. Our server was Kris who was not only personable, but knowledgeable of each dish and various sides that you can choose to go with your meal. Definitely have this restaurant on your radar for your Waikiki trip.

Since my last visit, the Chart House began having nightly Hawaiian musicians perform. The first time I went a couple months ago,had a great time. However, tonight went with a friend and had terrible customer service. Our server, a Polynesian looking lady dressed in what looked like spandex workout clothes, was very inattentive and seemed to have a bad attitude towards us for no reason. We complained to the manager, which only resulted in the server coming to our table and telling us how rude we were to her, so we deserved whatever treatment we got. I was very interested in seeing a musician perform this coming Wednesday, however, I am not going to patronize this establishment anymore, even though it's right across the street from my condominium. The food is mediocre and the service horrible.

Really loved this restaurant! Came right when it opened for brunch! Brunch had a special for free mimosas with entree purchases so we got a couple and got to choose fun flavors! The short rib loco moco was recommended to me and I loved it! It melted in your mouth and I loved how orange the egg yolks were (you can order eggs cooked how you want, I just like a runny yolk). The coconut pancakes were also amazing. Full of flavor and perfect overlooking marina. Our server was really helpful and had great advice. The restaurant itself had a lot of fun character and still up to date. Makes sense to me why this is a staple of downtown!

Food was terrible. Salmon was dry and overcooked, I had the Chilean sea bass. It was tough overcooked and chewy. Mash potatoes were cold. Green beans overcooked and soggy. Waiter was very slow. The only positive was the atmosphere was great. Table right out on the street. Overlooking the marina. Prices were high as well. I'm from California and I thought their prices were high. It's a real turnoff when you're paying top dollar and getting marginal service and food.

Came here for a little date. Immediately was seated by a sweet server. Got our drinks fast and it was still happy hour and that was plenty for us! Everything was tasty and feeling and their mai tai is bomb! They were about to start live music too. I can tell they have a lot of regulars and I just like the vibe here~

The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant we happen to come in on an afternoon with leaf as the bartender. We were here for two hours, and he did not smile once he seemed extremely agitated and upset that he had to work. Christian was very happy and friendly and ready to make our experience fun. Drinks were great and food amazing! We really enjoyed ourselves!!

Pre wedding celebration dinner with friends. The restaurant was very busy and having to climb the stairs wasn't expected As an appetizer I ordered the shrimp. They were cooked perfectly and quite large! The lobster tail was incredible! It was steamed perfectly and was served with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was delicious The crème brulee was a bit mediocre. It was cold, solid and not very creamy. The top was not caramelized. Overall a good experience

Happy Hour Kimchi calamari with the sauces on the side
    Safari C.

Let me put you on to the happy hour at the Chart House, Honolulu. Been going here since I was a kid! And I'm so grateful that even with a shift in ownership, the classic dishes like the stuffed mushrooms, escargo and black and blue ahi are still heavy hitters on this menu. But pro tip is ordering the happy hour kimchi calamari. For those who are purists with their calamari, ask for the sauces on the side and squeeze the fresh lemon on top. Leave the sauces for dipping if you so choose. Comes on a bed of tempura veg and is just such a mountain of fun we highly recommend.

My family and I went there to celebrate my dad's birthday. Staff were very kind, they made sure our waters were filled quickly and our food on time. I really enjoyed the short rib that I ordered with the garlic mash potatoes and green beans. At the end, we got ourselves a slice of the cheesecake for desert. Our server (I forgot his name but it was Hawaiian and I think it had an apostrophe after the second letter) was good and funny. Hopefully we can comeback again.

So this was my first meal during my return to Hawaii. I'm a sucker for a nice view and live music and this spot had both. I was quickly seated near a patio and had my drink order taken. I got the oyster as an appetizer and it was not what I was looking for and/or expecting. Definitely would not order it again. For my main, I got the steak and it was amazing. Right temp, good mash potatoes, and crisp asparagus. All in all it was a great meal and I would definitely be back when I'm in Waikiki.

He described everything with such care that it was hard not to order everything! I'd highly recommend a reservation as there was not an empty table the entire two hours we were there. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it can get quite loud but our table had great conversations and a overall lovely time. Appetizer: We ordered the konpachi hush puppies (apologies, they had a nicer name but this is how they were described to us) and they were delicious! I'm not a lover of fish, but these were so flavorful and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Drinks: I had the meringue di cedri to drink and it was akin to a lemon drop (10/10) it was sippable and lasted my whole meal. Husband had the Hana Koa Rice Breaker, which is one of his favorites as its smooth and pairs well with honestly anything. Entree: You will be missing out if you don't get the lemon risotto. I ordered it with the prosciutto and it may be one of the best meals I've had in Hawaii. The zucchini is done two ways in it: diced to be mixed in with the risotto and thinly sliced and grilled on top of the risotto. The panko crumbs on top really solidified the plate for me as top tier as risotto can get to be boring to eat after a few bites as they can lack texture, but not this risotto! Every bite was a journey and it was a very filling meal. My husband ordered the Korean steak and said it was better than some of the local steakhouses we had gone to. Our friend ordered the spaghetti carbonara and enjoyed it as well. Dessert: We were encouraged to try the Rocky Road ice cream and decided it was a must have when you visit. It was creamy, rich and delectable. We also opted to try the dessert special of the evening which was a Lilikoi cheesecake with a chocolate mousse. The cheesecake had a sour tang to it and the chocolate mousse partner with it to balance it out so it wasn't overly sweet. We loved it and I know in a few days we'll be craving this meal all over again!

France meets Italy - meets Hawaii. I'm still dreaming of this. The burger features a thick, juicy, 8-ounce grass-fed patty made from a custom house-selected blend of short rib, chuck roast, and brisket. Get it with the crispy potatoes. You will thank me. Risotto on point. Luxuriously rich, creamy texture. The rice retains a slight al dente bite in the center, giving it structure rather than letting it become mushy. Prosciutto adds a perfect salty, savory crunch to break up the rich risotto. The only misstep was the fries served with the quinoa burger. They were chalky, served at room temperature, limp, and underseasoned. Excellent friendly informal service. Park at the municipal parking on Bethel St just 1/2 block away. Happy Eating!!

Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. The smoked octopus was sliced in pieces that were too thick and a little too chewy and the andouille sausage and black pepper overpowered the dish. Ordered the bourbon and bone marrow mostly for the presentation. It was WAAAY too rich and needed more bread to go with it. They should've served it with bread that wasn't buttered because the buttered bread even though tasty by itself was just too rich in combination with all of that bone marrow. The dish needed more balance. The ice cream sundae was unremarkable. Would have preferred it served with a choice of hot fudge or the caramel drizzle and since it was plain vanilla ice cream they could've drizzled a lot more caramel over it. The waitress did bring us more nuts when we asked, but they were busy at the time and she was the only server so it took her a while to get to us, and the ice cream was pretty melted by the time she delivered. We got there when they opened at 5 PM and they had two servers at that time. The place wasn't busy so it seemed like they had enough help for the amount of tables that were being seated. An hour and a half later, though, one server was missing (possibly taking a lunch break) and the only server remaining at several big parties to take care of which slowed down her responsiveness to the other smaller tables like ours. The music playing in the background seemed to fit the environment and was pleasant to listen to. It's a pretty casual atmosphere. The prices for what you get are a bit on the high end. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else is paying. We didn't feel too bad this time because we had a gift certificate which covered most of our bill. Maybe we were choosing all the wrong items and should have just stuck to ordering meat dishes, which they might be better at making (with a name like Livestock). You'll have to check this place out yourself and see if they do a better job with meat and if the prices for those dishes are more reasonable. I gave this place four stars instead of three because the servers were friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was mostly okay (tasty enough and filling).

It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. If "smell‑a‑vision" or "lick‑your‑screen" technology existed, everyone would understand exactly what I mean. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully done, and perfect for a Mother's Day treat. I know this is a revered institution, but our visit just wasn't very good. We went for breakfast:…read morethe pancakes were good, but the American Breakfast wasn't, and the potatoes were undercooked with a flavor that was almost too earthy. The pastries were just okay; we tried a few cake slices that were fine but unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was dry and hard, the malasadas were forgettable, and the haupia-filled malasada was surprisingly tart. It's possible some ingredients were locally sourced and just unfamiliar to our mainland palates, or maybe we simply caught them on an off day. The servers were curt but friendly, likely because the place was packed with tourists.

It was so sad this business is closing down by Oct 31st. With rising food costs, inflation and…read morestaffing, it's understandable but I wish best endeavors for Chef Jason Peel and his staff. My fiance won a gift card actually 2 of them (from his coworker whom could not get a reservation secured), we knew we had to make the trip over before they officially close. We had multiple dishes, but staff made Kauai prawns and tomato miso black cod dishes on the house since they ran out the Hokkaido scallops. We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with giving us recommendations. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees, and honestly it was too much food for us. We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
