Music choice is weird and doesn't fit the ambiance. Acoustic country guy in a corner felt off and left a weird silence when he stopped to talk to people. Much better suited for a contemporary, vibey Spotify. Food is good. Nothing exceptional. Especially so close to other options. Charcuterie board was a let down. Pork Belly was good. Service was slow and inconsistent. For such a small space, there were PLENTY of servers and my friends and I sat water-less and needing a refill for quite a while. Server kept bringing plates and silverware with no navigation of the experience. There was NO interaction from the server. There is a disconnect between what kind of dining experience they're doing for. For example, cleared before each course but didn't engage with the table. Didn't run food. Visited Gathre on a Saturday night for dinner. They were fully booked out and would not allow us to wait for a table, so we had to sit at the bar. Between the three of us, we decided to try as many dishes as possible and share everything. We ordered the Parmesan truffle fries, three cheese Mac and cheese, seared salmon, broccolini, coq au vin, and crispy pork belly. We really enjoyed most of the dishes - our standout favorites were the Mac and cheese, salmon, and fries. We found the pork belly to be a bit too sweet and the broccolini was overpoweringly salty. Wouldn't order either of these ones again. The one area that was lacking was service - we had asked for a few things (for example, sharing plates) that never arrived. Overall, I would visit again if I was staying at the hotel - it was one of the better meals we had in Nashville. read more

Enjoyed this restaurant from the beginning. We were greeted with smiles. Sat immediately. Had attentive service the entire way through. The drinks were delicious, the strawberry salad was exceptional & the chicken was outstanding (which is hard to do with chicken). The crab cake were subpar but it was more a you get what you pay for thing over ability. The New York Strip's quality was underwhelming but I knew better than to order it so not their fault. My only issue was given how many things are compacted in the lobby space, there is no real separation from dining and someone just trying to escape their room for a little while when it's busy. Me and a few friends came here for Saturday morning brunch. The bottomless mimosas are great and we love the DJ . The ambiance is great, it's a really beautiful spot. It however takes a while and our food was cold, but still good. My friends said the flatbread was a 5/10. With salt and pepper the lobster was a solid 8. We just checked in from traveling all day and noticed the ambiance of the restaurant near the lobby. I had a pasta which was very good, 10/10. My buddy had the chicken, this may have been some of the best chicken we've every had. Our server was excellent, drinks were good including espresso martini & an americano. My expectations for this place were very high. Being a Nashville native and foodie I am always getting to the newest and hottest restaurants in Nashville. To begin they had only one bartender and one waitress to serve the entire restaurant. I had to go to the bar to order my drinks and bring them back to the table. I placed my food order. The 78.00 steak to share with my date, duck Mac and cheese and potatoes. ALL CAME OUT COLD! The food has been sitting back there aging and it was still brought out. There was no steam coming from the food. The cheese on the max and cheese was pasty. The service was horrible, food was horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stopped in for breakfast this morning. Waitress came promptly, brought coffee, took our order, and then we never saw her again until I had to flag her down to get the check almost an hour later. In the meantime, she took orders from several other tables, served their drinks and disappeared. A while later, food started coming out to the tables that ordered 10-15 minutes after us, but no one even acknowledged our lack of food, empty water glasses, and coffee cups. When I was about to say something, a very nice lady who had just received their food told the person delivering the food they had ordered well after we did and that we were still waiting. The hostess/food runner said they would check and promptly came back with our plates that had obviously spent way too much time waiting in the pass. When the food finally was dropped off (without explanation or apology), I asked for the check because we were now running very late. Waitress finally showed up 10 minutes later and asked if we needed anything. "Just the check...we need to be somewhere". She then went to take orders from several other tables and finally, unceremoniously and without even a "have a nice day", dropped the check on the table. In review, I'm guessing the food may have been edible and maybe even good when it was prepared, but it dried out under the warming lamps and we didn't experience anything close to service we would come back for especially considering how expensive it was. read more

First time trying out this spot and unfortunately won't be back. I'll break down the meal for you. Walked in and just stood there for a few minutes bc there wasn't a host. The venue as a whole is pretty loud do to the DJ so not crazy enjoyable. Took us roughly 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. By then we were ready to order our food and drinks before we even had water. We ordered 3 main dishes to try out a few things. My girlfriend has a serious Nut and legume allergy so this is something we take seriously. We were informed by our waiter (Kevin I think.. who was actually phenomenal so nothing bad on his end) that those notes were flagged and noted so there was absolutely nothing for us to worry about. The food came out and on one of the dishes there were chopped nuts all over the top. (Guess we did have to worry about allergies). One of the other dishes has undercooked fries which is a pet peeve of mine. By the time we got our salad remade and fries cooked, I was able to finish the rest of my meal. The server then offered us a complimentary cocktail to make up for it. The cocktails didn't taste the same as the first round, so there was some inconsistency there. When the check was brought to the table, I was notified that the drinks were taken off. I paid the amount that was on the bill, only to then be given a different receipt with a different total on it (which was $30 more). To be honest, the food wasn't bad in any way. The food is great, delicious. However, the music they play on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4 is just awful. It was so incredibly loud, our adult son with mild autism was literally in tears and left. My in-laws both couldn't cope and ended up leaving early. My grandchildren were begging us to turn it down. Everyone in the restaurant was shouting to be heard. The manager got said he asked the dj to turn it down, but if he did , no one could tell. While waiting for the manager, a couple walked out, never eating, and said they left because it was too loud. We were told people love to dance, we never saw it. My ears hurt. read more

I made a reservation at the Gathre on 2/15/24 for 8 people on 3/2/24 to celebrate my birthday. I called on 3/1 to ask if I can add one additional person and they put me on hold and come back to tell me that they aren't sure why my reservation went through bc they are not allowing reservations for that day. After I have had this reservation for 2 weeks and was not able to easily change it considering I found out the day before. They then called back later that day at 2pm to actually inform me the reservation was cancelled due to a big party renting out the restaurant. I just wouldn't recommend this place for any big event as this could happen and ruin your plans you've had for weeks. I will say the staff was nice when they called, but nothing they can do to take back the stress of ruining my birthday celebration the day before. read more

The worst experience from start to finish! I'm giving it one star because the waiter was polite at least. You can certainly tell this place just opened and does not have it together at all whatsoever. A group of 7 came here on Saturday night for dinner. We were highly disappointed come to find out that quite a few items posted on their website were not listed on their menu. I know this is a new restaurant, but don't post the full menu if it isn't available! So let's see....short ribs, cod, and fried chicken basket were off the table. Even the cornbread! We ordered a bottle of red wine and it took forever. Well come to find out.... The manager informed us it wasn't at the right temperature to be served and needed to be chilled and apologized for the wait. The wine bottle was hot, HOT and should not be served period! Red wine can get spoiled. Moving on, dry aged steak was terrible and served at room temp at best. Crust of the steak was way too salty as well and it was definitely nowhere worth the $78 price tag. Duck Mac n cheese was bland as ever. Only took 2 bites of it. Kraft would have been better. Eggplant and whipped feta dip was also below average and lacking in flavor. Salmon dish and meatball were the only two that were decent, but not great. On top of everything, our entrees took awhile to come out as well. Ambiance was too bright and awfully quiet, could have at least have hotel music playing in the background. Also, the manager seemed a little condescending and not genuine. We overheard him bicker back and forth with the customers who complained next to us. Please make sure you call this restaurant if you have a particular entree in mind after viewing the online menu. Honestly, just stay away from this place altogether if you can. Not worth the money with many other great options in Nashville to choose from. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Came into Nashville from East TN and stayed at the Hilton Fraye. I was happy to learn there was a restaurant in the hotel but we have a lot of food allergies so eating out is always risky and frequently disappointing. Gathre was great! Service was wonderful, we were seated quickly and had drinks and amazing fries quickly. The server had tea freshly brewed for us and checked with the chef to confirm our preferred entrees could be cooked with our allergies taken into account. We had the roast chicken and the pan seared salmon both cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with potatoes also cooked right, the salmon was so tender and the rice and lemon sauce were also cooked right. Our server was attentive and the atmosphere was very high end but relaxing. Prices were reasonable and over all we were very happy. We will definitely be back! Thanks Gathre! read more

I was so excited to try this place out for brunch because of the excellent Google reviews; however, I wish I had considered the bad reviews. First of all, they didn't have any food items that I wanted, and their online menu was outdated. So the first thing I ordered, they didn't have anymore, and the other 2 items that were on their current menu they didn't have either. So I ended up settling for a $14 yogurt parfait that I literally could have purchased from Walmart. I ordered a wine and didn't realize they served it warm. When I asked if I could exchange it for another drink instead, I was told that I would have to pay for a new drink or they could put ice in my wine to make it cold. ‍ I then asked to speak with a manager, and thankfully he was willing to exchange it out, but I was so disappointed that I had to ask for a manager for that simple request. And then the new drink wasn't even good. I wish I had left when they didn't have anything I wanted. As you can imagine, I will never revisit this restaurant ever again. l will stick going to First Watch for a nice brunch spot. read more

Bear with me, this could be a long one. Saturday brunch upset more than our stomachs...we are still shocked at how bad the food was. After being encouraged to order the house specialty cinnamon roll (to start (only one left!) we added the bacon trio. And waited. And waited. And 40 minutes later, the bacon was more like a 1- inch thick piece of jerky (we could barely pierce with a fork & there was no knife capable of cutting this cube), and the cinnamon roll was mediocre but huge. Three different entrees ordered - the crepes were gummy and smothered with whip cream and honey (just bad), eggs and toast, toast smothered in so much butter it soaked clear through the bread, and yogurt parfait with granola so hard you could crack a tooth. Then we saw another cinnamon roll go by so...there's that deception. The table next to us sent two of their items straight back to the kitchen. Maybe the DJ and the bottomless mimosas are there to distract from the food. But our waitress did ask us if there were any items we didn't like and would like removed from our bill. Perhaps she realized that nearly all the food we ordered was still on the plates. Or perhaps this is a common request that's she's come to expect? It's too bad as the restaurant itself is an attractive space. And don't valet park - they say they validate, but they don't. read more
