Called around to get quotes for a bike assembly since the company I bought it from required a professional to do it, and proof of assembly to activate the warranty. Spoke with Tommie and provided me with the best price for the assembly. Upon arriving, I noticed how busy the shop was. Customers outside waiting to pickup their bikes or buy parts. I thought for sure the turnaround time would be at least a full day. Nope. Tommie told me it would be done and ready for pickup right before they close at 5PM. That's great I thought since it was about 1PM. I went back home to finish out my work day, then received a call at around 3PM notifying me it's ready for pickup. WOW these guys are quick. I assumed since it was such a quick turnaround, maybe the assembly work may not be great. When I arrived and inspected my new bike, I was very pleased. I paid the quoted the amount and added a $10.00 tip for the quick turnaround. I will be returning to GC for tuneups, and maybe some parts in the future. Thank you guys. read more

I had an amazing experience taking my bike in for tune/repair. I had a bike sitting in a garage for a few years and the tires were flat and I didn't know what else would be wrong so I decided to take it here. They immediately assisted us with taking the bike out of the car and went into their checkup process. Did Simple derailleur adjustments here with my trek 3700 2013 for more than a reasonable price. Chill place with lay back attitude! Stock up on my prestaV tubes here for my mountain bike for cheap. They have nice maybe refurbished bikes for sale. If you need a simple tune up come here. I wouldnt take my Giant talon MTB with hydraulic brakes here or to recondition my forks. But for brake lines and all that basic service this is my place. read more

Honest people do exist!! I am beyond loving this place. I had my kids bikes sitting in the garage for over 6months waiting to be repaired. The good old husband "will get to it" was taking way too long. One web searched and a call later, I started heading to this place. I arrived about 30mins to closing and the 2 gentlemen were super nice and helpful. I told them what I thought was wrong with each bike and they said it was actually something less complex. They greased the chains, repaired a tired, put air in all tires and $8 dollars later we were on our way!!! That was for parts and labor!!! This is a good place to go to for your basic bicycle needs. It is owned by a sweet old lady who often has kids with her. It also seems to be a social spot for kids in general as there are always kids hanging out here. This shop seems to cater to lower end and to older single speed cruiser, BMX, low-rider and basic ten speed and basic mountain bikes. I do not recall ever seeing the higher end carbon fiber road bikes nor the full suspension titanium mountain bikes at this location. But that is fine with me as I don't own one of those bikes, and, I don't go there to see other bikes. If you need simple things like inner tubes, tires, pedals or a seat, this place has them even lower priced than at Wal-Mart. She also has a good selection of used parts. I've been going to this shop since 2007 and have had them repair three bikes for me. I found it kind of scary when I told the lady (owner) what I needed done to my bike and she ripped a little piece of paper and wrote a note on it and then taped it on to the handlebars and told me to come back later in the day or the next day. I am so used to receiving a work order with a claim check from other shops. However, the bikes got fixed and they were to my satisfaction. Also, you can't beat her prices for repair jobs. They are so cheap I don't know how she makes money. However, she is cash only. Try this place out and see for yourself. read more

Great service! I read the bad reviews on this place and came in because of them. The only bad reviews here sounded petty and stupid, as if there were some ulterior motives behind them. I was right, this place is the right place, if you're looking to avoid the hoity toity bikes shops of Orange County that charge 85.00$ just to look at your bike, or 2 days and up to 3 weeks to get your bike back. I was quoted hundreds of dollars by ridiculously over-priced arrogant bike shops in my area, as if they were the bike gods about to bless me with their expertise. I took my bike to G.C. bikes and 20 minutes later walked out with my bike chained adjusted and fixed (I thought I needed a new one), my brakes adjusted, a new foot pedal, my back rim taken of and straightened, all for 25.00 dollars! Yes, I typed that correctly. They had plenty of opportunity to upsell me, but they didn't. This place is not flashy, but if you want great, skilled, honest, affordable service, this is the place to go. I will definitely come back. read more

I found G.C. Bikes on Yelp because I was making lots of calls in my area to find someone to repair a flat. The prices in the local HB and CM area were ridiculously high? Like it's a flat people? So I called GC Bikes and they gave me a great price...so I took it in....the price I believe was like $6....I have forgotten now but it was near to that figure, I waited too long to post this review. The service was really quick. You see guys hanging out the front fixing bikes or waiting on something to come in. Nice guys, they will take your bike out of your car for you. My daughters bike was fixed by a young man, muscular, handsome, very nice...not that muscular has a purpose here, but trying to let you know who it was...(yes, he was cute!)...very polite, very quick in fixing it and just very nice experience all around. You never once thought they were trying to get more for the job, whatsoever. I gave him a tip as well and it was still LESS than what I would have paid in CM or HB......and I waited maybe 20 minutes if that. Because such a great experience, I went back again with the bike as we had a hardware problem. They once again carried the bike from the car, worked on it right away and we waited about half hour. Nice older gentleman fixed it and it cost about $23 total. Gave him a tip of a few dollars.....they definitely deserve a tip as they give you fast and good results. I would recommend highly AND keep going back, for sure. read more

I took my el-cheapo, 15-speed mountain bike to G. C. Bike Shop because I couldn't get the rear tire to stay put after I changed the tube. The mechanic got to it within fifteen minutes or so, fixed it, and had me test drive it. The problem was still there. He diagnosed it, fixed it with a hammer (really!), and now bike is in better shape than it was before I changed the tire! The price was unbelievably low. While I was there, another guy took care of two or three minor problems for people who dropped by. I'll be going back whenever I need work done. (By the way, part of my frame was bent--hence the hammer.) read more

New in town and needed some transportation. They pulled out a beach cruiser for $200. Okay. Rode it around the parking lot seemed okay. Within two weeks the thing was literally falling apart. Derailer didn't shift gears, the handlebars were loose and rubbing all over, the front brake didn't stop the bike anymore. And best of all, the spokes on the real wheel were literally so loose I had to hand tighten almost every single one of them, but not before the rim bent. Based on the excellent reviews I thought I could trust this shop as I know nothing about bicycles. But it was clear they didn't spend even a second looking at this bike much less tuning it up before they sold it. Avoid this place at all costs, scam artists. read more

Really wanted to support a local business but doubt we will be back. Took two bikes in for a tune up and to fix a flat. The rear wheel of one bike was rubbing. Charged $65 per bike. Got both bikes back quickly but the back wheel was still rubbing and when I asked the manager, he indicated that they only tuned up the bikes. Fixing the wheel would be extra. Anyways, had to take the bike to REI where they charged $80 but also let me know my gear cables were shot ($15 more) and that my front folk was missing a pretty important pin. Rear wheel got fixed as part of the tune up. read more

Not everyone needs a $3K bike and accessories to go with it. Mina is keeping bicycling affordable for recreational riders. I needed tires for my wife's 25 year old $75 beach cruiser, I shopped everywhere including Walmart only to find that I could almost buy a new bike for the cost of tires and tubes. My trek 830 had a flat and I was looking for a local bike shop to replace the tube. I stumbled upon GC bikes when running errands around the neighborhood. Brought my bike there the other day and it was up and running within 10 minutes, extremely affordable as well.
