GeekNerd Anime Cafe (located in Chinatown district) is misplaced shop in a less than desirable district since the area seems very empty. The "please ring doorbell" to enter should had been a sign, but supporting mom-pop shops especially those with their creative niche. It's a decent cafe-place if you're into anime -- lots of cool merch, posters, and themed decor that make it fun to hang out or browse, including a couple old-school arcade games and claw machine for cute "Japanese" characters. I did smile when I saw the old school arcade game of Street Fighters!!! There's even a small cozy space--stuff animals and couch for visitors to lounge. But, I walked here alone to support the cafe so had to leave before dark so couldn't stay. However, the "cafe" part is pretty misleading. The drink was average at best, and the fish-shaped pastries (which I was really looking forward to) weren't baked onsite (bummer) -- they were clearly pre-frozen and a little bit overpriced. I should had expected since I didn't see the fish-mold machine but was hoping it was in the backroom kitchen. They did offer some savory appetizers and even ramen, but didn't feel like trying these items in a drink cafe. Or maybe I should had ordered the appetizers and skipped the drinks. Who knows. Still worth checking out!! :)

I am so glad we just happened to stumble across this cool little café. The outside intrigued us with some of the Pokémon and anime decor. When we came inside, they had a little bit of everything a lot of cool decorations all over. There's some really neat artwork in this place too. They have a quite a bit of food and drink options. A lot of of them are anime or Pokémon inspired they also serve Ramen here that smelt delicious. We got one of the drinks and it was very tasty. The people helping us were all very nice at helping us look through the menu. I'll definitely come back. It's a great spot to grab a small bite grab coffee and hang out with your friends. There is bar seating along with table seating

Cute, nostalgic-themed vibe with indoor couches and high stool counter seating. I always appreciate when new businesses set up in Old Town, revitalizing this part of Portland takes intention, and this spot has been open about 3 months. I'm rooting for them. Note: front door is locked and staff will let you in. Most ready-to-eat snacks are outsourced. I ordered the Saigon Noir ($6.95) and my friend got Green Dream for the same price. I have a high bar for Vietnamese coffee, and this one wasn't strong enough for my taste, lesson learned. Friendly service; I had to ask for extra napkins after we got one of the mochi cakes. Glad to see a steady flow of customers while we were there. Metered street parking in the area. Tip: go on Sundays before 1 PM for free downtown parking. Restroom: One-stall, gender neutral, toilet seat covers provided, but you need to ask for a key.

Yummy lunch with free tea with certain menu items. Friendly staff Have to ring the doorbell to be let in. There is a bathroom but only customers. Everything here is super cute and such a great vibe. There's one table for three people if you want to do a study session together. But there's table looking out the window if you need individual space. Has a lounge you feel with the four coaches and manga books to read.

Came here after lunch and after walking around at the waterfront arts market so didn't have much room to eat. Love that there an actual anime cafe and that there's a cozy new place to visit in old Chinatown. I do think while the furniture can seem a bit basic and the food can be quite small, whatever. It's a great place to hang out and chill and have a bite to eat while reveling in the artwork on the walls and the shelf figurines You can also read the manga for free!!

Stopped by GreekEasy Anime Café while in Portland and absolutely loved it! I tried the Chopper's Leafy Fizz -- so good! It tasted like a sparkling matcha lemonade, super refreshing and unique. The whole café was adorable and totally gave me Japan vibes -- from the decor to all the little details. The worker was so nice and friendly, which made the experience even better. Such a fun and cozy spot to relax, sip something delicious, and take it all in. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town!

A new cafe in town! What I love about GeekEasy first is their theme and unique story - it compasses a lot of my favorite childhood stories and anime and they did an awesome job recreating that in their ambiance and food I also love the variety and the creativity of their menu. We ordered a tofu wrap, vegetarian croquettes and sweet potato fries. The croquettes and fries were hot, crispy and fantastic, and went well with their sauces My favorite was the wrap for sure, and you have to try it with their version of Sriracha, 10/10 They're also conveniently located in Chinatown. If you enjoy anime or want to try something new, it is worth a visit!

Matcha latte with Lion Head ice cube - so cute! I'm pretty sure it was called the green dream!

Super cute little cafe downtown. Really cozy ambience with really fun art on the walls, various anime figurines and decor, labubu decor of course, some arcade games and a few claw game machines. Cozy little area to hang out and read, draw, or play games was really nice and my matcha latte was delicioussss!

Awesome anime cafe! The decor and atmosphere of this cafe is awesome. There's a lot of anime, manga, and yummy treats. Came in and ordered a pineapple bun and egg tart. They had this cute little corner with sofas and they were playing Ponyo. Loved the food options and awesome place to kill some time.

Demolished tamago-go wrap, curry fishballs and takoyaki!

Firstly, I am so sorry for the photos of the carnage for what we ate. We dug in with the photo op as the second priority, and I promise it was all prettier when it got to our table! Food we ordered: * curry fishballs * takoyaki * tamago-go wrap * oyakodon Honest review: 10/10. Every single thing we ordered slapped. And I'm saying this as an Asian person who grew up in the Asian food Mecca, Hawaii. When I saw the Mother's Day special of oyakodon, I knew I had to go. I have to say...it was a few folds better than I've had even in Hawaii. I am petitioning to get this on the permanent menu. Please support the cause. While seating for dining is a bit limited, the ambience was perfect. It is the perfect place to hang back and study, play games, read, etc. We LOVED the art, which we learned much of was done by the owner Tommy! (The anime food/cooking art and the Pokémon mural) We were so thoroughly impressed by this touch of Asian culture in the middle of Portland and can't wait to be back! ...even if there's no oyakodon. (Tommy, I'm really hoping you read this and have a change of heart. Feel free to charge more for it for all that labor of love that gets put into it)

GeekEasy Anime Cafe is a new cafe located in a Chinatown. I appreciate that they opened in Chinatown to help change the area for the better. Service was friendly. I got a HK Style Milk Tea which was okay but not great. I'll have to get a different drink next time. Forest Fries which are sweet potato fries were super delicious. I love the decor and it was fun reading manga while I was there. They have quite a few books to borrow while you're in the shop. Overall, I liked this cafe and I look forward to trying a new drink and another one of their food items next time.

Concept 4/5, food 3/5, service 4/5 Was looking for a cafe to go to after work today and was able to find this new spot online! Saw their menu online and was intrigued to try them out. When I first got there I thought they were closed initially since it looked so dark and like there was no door handles. But they do have a sign that says to knock! So they did answer the door after knocking! This place is super new, I noticed online that their grand opening was this past weekend, so take this review with a grain of salt. I feel like many businesses like to change or adjust themselves within the first few months of opening, so there definitely can be potential changes to come. When I went inside I thought it was cute with all the anime decor they had inside. Even their menu is anime themed, which I thought was super neat. I tried to order from their menu but a lot of there things were sold out, which was a bummer. I personally felt a little underwhelmed by the food I got to try. The matcha dream drink was good. From the food I got there chicken kaarage (shinobi lightening bite) and unagi wrap (Hakus spirit wrap). I will say I thought their chicken kaarage would be more like Japanese kaarage but honestly, it tasted and looked more like popcorn chicken. Which was slightly disappointing to me. I got there unagi wrap which I thought was a step up from there kaarage, but I don't feel like it was something I enjoyed enough to really want to visit again. It said on the menu that there was tamago in the wrap, but I did not see or really taste any when I looked at it. Sadly, I don't really see myself visiting again but I thought the concept of this place was super neat! The owner seemed friendly, the workers also tried to be helpful as well. For the concept and the service, I will give this place a 4/5.

Cute and cozy anime themed restaurant that serves up traditional Japanese comfort and street food! Stopped in while passing by and ordered a Vietnamese style ice coffee with milk foam which was tasty and refreshing for a hot day. Also ordered some takoyaki which were cooked well (gooey in the inside) and had a good amount of octopus in each one. Staff were super friendly and helpful - will definitely come back!

Love the zoro drink! Super yummy! The oyakodon is superb too! Perfect warmth and cozy for an overcast day.

It was the produce area that really made my heart sing and my eyes bug out. The produce section is colorful, artfully arranged. I could practically feel the antioxidants beaming into my body! I have never seen SO many varieties of alliums in my life. They had four different types of "green onion" (scallion, green garlic, calçot, and red spring onion), plus mahoosive leeks. We had a great experience with service which was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Since we were out and about doing other things we didn't get anything that required refrigeration like cheese, meats or produce, but we did have sandwiches from the deli case which were tasty. I look forward to going back for some of the produce and cheeses.
