I had a dripping bathtub faucet and called one local shop (not Geers). They asked me to send some pictures to help them identify the parts, which I did, and then called me back and told me it was unrepairable and they would need to rebuild it, costing more than I wanted to spend. I then called Geers, told them the problem, and they said they'd have someone come out within an hour and a half. Less than an hour later, David from Geers arrived, took a look at it, said he'd be back shortly and went to get a couple of parts. Less than a half hour later, David returned, installed a new part on one side (hot) and placed new washers/o-rings on the other (cold) and voila, everything was finished in less than two hours from the time I had called. And the price...half of what the first shop had quoted me. Can't think of a better experience than this. Geers was straightforward, no BS, and got the job done with a minimum of fuss and saved me a few hundred dollars. They'll be at the top of my list of who to call in the future. read more

In the meantime we have one very hot setting for our shower and they simply have done nothing to finish the job. Every time I deal with these people it's a miserable experience. I used them once a long time ago and it was very expensive. I've also got quotes from them since but it's always way more expensive than anyone else. They always have an attitude and they're not friendly like others I've dealt with in the area. They act like they couldn't care less if they get your business. They also have a part supply that is open to the public but when you ask them questions they don't help you, they just give attitude and make you feel like you can't fix it yourself. Why have parts for sale to the public if you aren't going to be a little helpful? Home Depot is more helpful than these guys. All you have to do is look at their yelp reviews compared to other plumbers in the are to see what people really think about Geers. High prices, horrible service, bad attitude, snobs. read more

I thought I had a simple drain clog that I tried to fix myself (mistake). When I tried to reattach the pipes, a part snapped so I called Geers. Irving arrived in about an hour and was terrific. He's polite and professional, and explained exactly what went wrong. in addition to replacing the broken part, he ran an electric snake more than 30 feet to find the source of the clog. Yesterday afternoon my husband walked past the downstairs bathroom and heard a gurgle. Just as he walked in the toilet water drained. Thinking the toilet was stopped up, he plunged it. Several times. When nothing happened he knew something was not right, but he didn't look in the shower at that time. After several attempts, the toilet would not flush and he looked in the shower. Oh dear, yes, the main sewer line was evidentally blocked. A few more flushes or hand washings and we would have flooded the downstairs. Now we have a handicapped Vietnam Veteran staying with us and it was late in the afternoon on a Friday! We had to have the situation fixed and right away. We called our neighbor who came over to see what was going on. He recommended we contact Geer's Plumbing and ask for Jarvin Santana. He had experience with Jarvin on a large job and was very impressed with him. Jarvin was supposed to arrive at 5:30pm. At 5:30 pm he called and said he was tied up finishing another job and let us know when to expect him. He showed up as promised. We've never had a tradesman handle himself like this young man. He loves his job and feels good about helping people. Not only was he professional, a hard worker and uplifting, you would never know he had been working long hours already. He was an excellent communicator and spent time with my husband detailing what was involved and how to prevent a situation in the future. He saved the day for us and his confidence and ease at handling the situation helped calm our stress. If we could give him a 10+ rating we would! Charged me $1500 for a 3-4 hour job of fixing a pin hole leak on a copper pipe. Beware. Take your business elsewhere.

Told us to pay 14,300.00 to put new pipe in after saying there was a root in our pipe. Also tried to rush us with a decision - if you say "Yes", we will take off the 600.00 you paid for the hydro flush. But you have to do it tonight! I knew this sounded sneaky, so we stopped immediately. They did a good job with the hydro flush, which actually fixed the issue - but to actually lie to us about a root under our house? Horrible. Thank goodness we had another plumber look pipe and say, "Your pipe is in very good condition. There is no root." Someone who told us the truth. read more

14 months ago, Geers replaced a pinhole leak in a copper pipe above my water heater. When you call Geers, you know that you are going to pay a premium but that you will get a quality job. Unfortunately, last night, i found out that wasn't true. I had the same leak in the same place. When Geers came out and inspected it, I was told that it was a result of the defective pipe that they installed (not labor) and that I was out of warranty by two months. Note that the previous pipe lasted 30+ years. They offered to do the job all over again and charge me all over again. They stated that if it had been within the 12 month warranty period, they would have gladly repaired it. BUYER BEWARE: Geers did not stand behind their work at my home and I will never use them again. If your job is out of warranty by any small period and you have problems, I would not expect them to take care of you either. Rather, they will gladly offer to charge you again to get the original job fixed. read more

THANKS ROOSEVELT & DON ! You saved our Christmas!!! I've been going to Geers in Huntington Beach for many many years when I have any plumbing needs. But they really saved me yesterday! Of course on Christmas eve around 1 in the afternoon.....My water heater stopped working and I couldn't relight it. I thought no one was going to fix it this afternoon nor tomorrow Christmas then the weekend ...So looking forward to a long Christmas weekend of cold showers and hand washing all of the holiday dishes...ugh 2020. But when I called Geers and spoke with Don, who's is extremely nice and knowledgeable, he put me at ease and said he can send someone soon to look at and fix or replace if needed. I almost passed out from joy. Soon Roosevelt arrived at my door and from the first minute, I knew he was a friendly, smart, and a hard working plumber. Roosevelt quickly diagnosed the problem but since the water heater was just over 10 years old ....then it was more cost effective to replace unit. I thought ugh more unexpected bills and on Christmas eve....plus I thought with my luck that my Bradford water heater choice will be out of stock. But he said they had "One" back at the Geers shop a few miles away. So he started draining old water heater as he ran back to Geers.... Super smart and big time saver. He came back quickly was installed almost instantly. Literally!!! I called around but could not get a plumber out to switch the water heater as quickly as Geers. Gilbert Galvan Jr. came out and worked with my senior parents. Not only was he polite and friendly, but he was also patient and had excellent communication skills. Many senior customers are frequently taken advantage of by service people in different industries, and they are always worried about it. Not only did Gilbert soothe their fears, but the pricing that Geers gave for the water heater change was really excellent. They installed a top-of-the-line model for significantly less than estimates I got from other good companies (who could not schedule as quickly). I was charged approximately $500/hr for a very straightforward job. I manage a LOT of apartments in several cities throughout SoCal , and that rate is more than double the rate of our other vendors. Trying to do a little DIY project and flush the water heater, I ended up turning off the pilot light by mistake. After watching multiple YouTube troubleshooting videos on how to turn the flame back on, it never worked for me. Since it's an older WH, I figured I'd look into switching to a tankless. I was referred to Geers by a friend in the plumbing industry and I also looked them up on Yelp. I'm glad I called!! Homer was my technician and he came promptly the next day (today). He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He knew about the CA Rebate for switching from a tank to tankless which is nice. He also fixed the pilot light at no charge! Complete misdiagnosis of a drain issue by untrained "plumbers". They wanted to cut into my custom hardwood floor to correct what they think was a collapsed pipe or charge me $22,000 to reroute the pipe to the outside to the main drain. The issue was a 90 degree bend in the pipe which had a clog, no where near where they claimed it to be. Geers used to be a reputable firm (when KC Nasser owned it) and I realize a lot of people have had great success with them, but not me. So be careful when they send a manager/supervisor out to quote something because it's obvious he's working on getting a big commission. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Everyone makes mistakes but the owner of Geer's plumbing, Don Baker, was rude, condescending, dismissive and uncaring beyond belief when we needed help. We had a long, slow sewage leak over the bolts of our upstairs master toilet for over 3 years due to the flange being installed way too low by Geer's. It took a long time to find the problem because it was under two false ceilings, above furnace ducts and deep in the house. He came to take a look at the installation. First, he said, "I don't even think we installed that toilet. Maybe your husband installed it." I had a receipt that showed Geer's installed that toilet. Then he said, "Maybe somebody heavy sat on the toilet and it shifted. You know, that happens all the time." No one in our house weighs over 185. When I asked his opinion about the fact that the plumber who found the leak said the flange was too low, he said, "Well, it's like going 57 in a 55 (miles per hour). What does that mean???????? The insurance adjuster agreed with diagnosis of the plumber. We didn't know how much reimbursement we would receive from Geer's insurance so, to save money, we did a lot of the repairs ourselves and had to work very hard. Geer's plumbing does not have liability insurance coverage for mold and asbestos abatement. This abatement was required of us by law. We incurred over $13k in damages and were reimbursed only around $9k. It really was a nightmare. One bathroom and laundry room were taken down to the studs and another toilet was out of commission so we could dry out the floor. The fans, dehumidifiers and heaters droned on for hundreds of hours. We all suffered many strange illnesses during the leak and now they all make sense. Mold is toxic and extremely detrimental to health. Shame on Geer's. I have never received an apology. If Don Baker had said, "Wow, I am so sorry. Let me know what I can do to help." I would not have written this review. You find the true personality of a business owner when something goes wrong for which his company is responsible. Don Baker showed he did not care. read more
