We called Responsive plumbing as they were approved plumber by our HOA. I made an appointment for them to come out and explain everything I need it done. Confirmed on the day prior to the appointment. Day of the appointment I got a call that one of their employees had been exposed to Covid. This meant they had to come out the next day which we said was OK. They arrived on time and explained everything and did everything we needed them to do. They were in and out in less than an hour. Easiest 5-star rating I've given this year. Had a pretty significant clog out of nowhere that was causing grey/black water to back up in our kitchen and bathroom sink simultaneously. I called James at 1:30 PM on a Saturday and they were booked solid, but he assured me that he could have someone come out at 10 AM the next morning. He clearly stated the price up front, which was more than fair and I really appreciated the transparency. He even gave some general plumbing recommendations that were helpful. William showed up at 9:30 the next morning, face mask on and ready to get to work. Very friendly, totally professional and he stated the agreed upon price. Little things like that build a lot of trust and will definitely ensure repeat business from us. He was done in less than 30 minutes and even went to go grab some cleaning supplies from his truck so he could clean up under the sink. How cool is that? James came out on Thursday. I requested flushing of my tankless water heater. He said that one of the two valves was the wrong part. Initially, I thought he was lying, but he explained why he couldn't do it. James did not have his soldering tools. So, he returned on Saturday, he did lot of re-piping and soldering. I stood and watched what he did the whole time. It took nearly two hours. He knew exactly what to do and I saw no mistakes. He checked and double-checked his work. He didn't charge for the flush, which I initially asked for, but he did it. He charged only for re-piping-Very reasonable pricing. It is so hard to find a decent plumber. Had yet another great experience with Responsive Plumbing. My wife woke me up to alert me to our water heater's supply valve leaking in our garage. Since the supply valve was broken and fixed into the open position, I wasn't able to shut it off. I wasn't able to shut off the water main, either (user error). I called James and told him about the leak and he was able to come out within an hour and take care of the leak. Since my water heater was nearing end of life, I decided to have James replace it, which he and Alberto were able to do the next day in less time than originally projected. Although we didn't get any actual work done by Responsive Plumbing, we contacted them thru Yelp on Sunday and William came over on Tuesday to check the problem at our house. Turns out, it wasn't our water heater as he mentioned it was a slab leak and it was more work than we anticipated. So we are currently in our decision phase, even with talks from our Insurance. We waited until after 2:30, then called a total of 3 times, throughout the afternoon to see if they were still coming, with no answer. Responded first to my request for estimates. Gave me straight numbers instantly, no games. Hired them again this time to do 2 new toilet install/haul aways on the 3rd floor. Billy & Jimmy showed up at 9am sharp, friendly and ready to go. During install they discovered the need for longer supply lines and they hustled out to grab the needed parts. Later they found a gasket clogging one of the toilets and saved me a chunk of money by simply getting it out. I appreciated that they didn't make up something random to charge me for extra work. I was very impressed with the speed that responsive plumbing gave me. I had an appointment at 11 AM and their men were here at 10:45!! Pretty good for a contractor in Southern California! Make a long story short, I needed a new fitting under the sink which rusted out and they fixed that in about 20 minutes, and they also repaired a bad valve that a previous contractor had installed less than two years ago which had failed. They were clean, they were friendly, and they were on time! That's five stars in my book! read more

EXCELLENT experience with James at Responsive Plumbing! We have a 13 year old Water Heater that stopped producing hot water and some we called only wanted to replace with new. We thought a small repair was needed. We were unexperienced since we haven't touched it in 9 years. However, after gas was shutoff to the house we thought we couldn't get the pilot light turned on which was why it wasn't producing hot water. James thought it could have been a bad thermocouple so he brought one along to replace it. However, it was our inexperience in putting the knob in the correct position after lighting it; which we didn't even think was lit! James came and within 1 minute got it lit. Palm to face on us! He stuck around for 10 minutes to make sure there was hot water. It did of course fix our problem. I went to pay but he kindly declined because of operator error! I mean good honest people not looking to make a quick buck but establish a working relationship. He now has our business for any future plumbing project upcoming and I wholeheartedly endorse him for your project. Hopefully, we can get another 5 years out of this water heater and we will call Responsive to do the work on a new one. read more

We've set two appointments to have a filter installed and nobody showed up for either appointment. We didn't receive a courtesy call to let us know that they're running late, or even that they we're canceling our appointment. They just didn't show up and didn't call afterward to apologize or reschedule. We gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first no show, but after the second time, it's pretty safe to say that we won't be begging them to take our money. read more

Noticed a leak coming from our main waterline and since we're new to the area checked Yelp for a local plumber. After several inquiries we received a fair quote from James at Responsive Plumbing to replace our waterline to the street meter and proceeded to schedule the repair for the next day. Alberto arrived on time and gave us a schedule for the expected water outage. About an hour into the the job he says good news you have PVC to the street and only need to replace the small section going into the house saving us a couple thousand dollars off the original estimate! On my morning commute today I witnessed two men in a Responsive Plumbing truck help another motorist whose car had broken down in an intersection. They pushed the car out of traffic and into a residential area. Not only are they up and at 'em early on an overcast Saturday morning, but they are kindhearted people who care enough to help another person who needs a hand. Responsive Plumbing is true to its name. I sent them an inquiry/message on Yelp regarding a leak issue at our business and they replied back immediately. We were able to set an appointment the next day. James, the owner got at the site early and was already able to diagnose the problem and gave me a reasonable quote. He came back the next day, earlier than expected again, and was able to complete the job at the estimated time. I then contracted him to hydrajet my sewer line at home. Again he came by on time, inspected my sewer line with a camera, then suggested there is no need to do a hydrajet. But instead, he explained to me other options to fix whatever issues I was having with my sewer line and offered to send me a quote. I only paid him a small amount for that home inspection.
