Excellent pizza, large portions if you go here, make sure to order up apps! They are HUGE and very very good. I have had the French dip and it was rocking good! It was huge. Generous portion of beef and veggies. I couldn't even eat half of french dip. My fav tho is the pizza. Absolutely love their pizza. The crust is good and I like the sauce they use. They put the perfect amount of sauce on. I have been to places where the pizza is dry and that just makes the experience not good. You then have to grab the waitress and wait for a side sauce or two to come up. Then they charge you of course for the sauce(s). This place gets all there food correct. It is all very good. There is something for everyone on their menu. The staff at this place do a great job. My first time there I had a few questions and they fully answered my questions. The staff and waitresses I have had at this establishment check in on you from time to time to make sure you don't need anything and you are doing good. Food is always hot and fresh. Portions are large. I have had salads at this place and they are very good. The lettuce and veggies are always chilled and washed off and clean. Well, we went on a trip to Baraboo and truly found a GEM! We went there the first day and I was starving. I ordered a build your own cheeseburger and tots. The burger was just so tasty and perfectly made that for the first time in history I actually CLEANED MY PLATE! Then we saw the couple next to us ordered this pizza with toppings piled a mile high. We asked them about it and they said they traveled "an hour" just to get it. It looked very filling; they barely ate two pieces each. We could see pizzas were selling like hotcakes, so we came back the next day for one. Oh man, this pizza is amazing! The hunks of sausage were so huge they looked like chicken wings on top of it. Now people were asking US what we ordered! Really tasty food all around and good service. I highly recommend this place. read more

We have been to Gem City Saloon multiple times and try to return whenever in Baraboo. When we came in they followed us to our table and waited on us right away.We had excellent service; not sure of server's name, we thought he might have been the owner as he was so attentive and it was busy. We ordered the thin crust pizza and it was excellent, good sauce and good amount of toppings. We ordered cheese bread which came with pizza sauce this was very good. The owner did stop by our table and asked how everything was. If your into sports there are a lot of tv's to view but not so loud that you can't visit.I would definitely recommend Gem City if you're looking for a place to eat. read more

Gave one star because the pizza was great but the establishment was unsafe. We went there a few months ago and no one wore mask. I contacted the owner about my concerns. Now that there is a state wide mask mandate by the Governor Executive Order we have them a second chance. Employees still did not wear masks nor disinfected the surfaces. Even though the pizza is good I recommend skipping Gem City. Go a few blocks further to the Baraboo Square. Establishments like the Baraboo Burger Company have gone above and beyond wirh protocols and I feel extremely safe there and food was excellent. read more

A lot of places say they are "known" for a menu item, and it is usually a letdown. Not the case with Gem City - the pizzas they are "known" for are absolutely delicious and worth checking out. My wife and are I from Chicago, so we have a bit of discernment when it comes to a good pizza. We ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza, and it was PHENOMENAL. The food was pretty good. The two gentlemen working were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had a waitress who was rude from the start. The bartender noticed we had been sitting there awhile with no service so he came over got our drink order, brought our drinks back we ask for menus. When he went back to the bar he said something to her, on her way to another table she whacked my friend's arm with the menu. The metal piece on the menu scratched her arm. The guys kept trying to picking up her slack. She was horrible, playing on her phone. Never once checking on us, seeing if the food was good, getting us more drinks or any type of host duties. 7/3 A Kwik Trip employee actually recommended Gem City to us. He was making small talk and found out we were headed to Baraboo. He claimed that they had the best pizza he'd ever tried. Thankfully he also mentioned that there is no sign other than a small neon sign above the door, otherwise we'd have completely missed it. It's really more of a bar. The tables are all high-tops and we had a little guy with a broken collarbone so he didn't want to sit up high and neither did I. It's not really a family place. They offer apps and pizza. We ordered a small meat lovers pizza to go. It was huge! It's was a long rectangle, cut into eight slices and it was just loaded with toppings with lots of wonderful gooey Wisconsin cheese. The sauce is good and the pan crust is good. Overall pretty fantastic and it heated up well the next day, too. I'd definitely order another pizza to go in the future. read more

Cheese curds were tasty but were not what I was expecting for curds. They were cubes of fried cheese. Not exactly sure what kind of cheese it was, but they had a hint of smoke which was nice. Pizza was okay. Nothing special, just okay. Beer selection was decent, nothing all too extensive. Service was also just okay. We were greeted soon after sitting and our drinks came pretty quick. Waitress didn't really check on us at all after bringing our food. Did come by eventually with another beer. When we were done we sat for a bit waiting for the bill. My husband and I hadn't seen our server in quite awhile. Ended up having to go ask to pay. Apparently the server had left without tagging in another server to finish up with us. Good amount of seating. There were a few different TVs in the area we sat so we were able to watch a ball game. They did have a couple of pool tables and dart boards. We had our 14yo son with us and there were a couple of other kids in there, so it seemed like an okay place to take the family. read more

So this place is the real deal. We heard all the hype about there pizza being some of the best there is! Let me say that the rumors are true. My wife, our daughter and myself went in around 3pm on a Monday to see what the place is all about. Its a old industrial style building turned into a bar. Very nice and clean on the inside. Would not expect it from the outside, but once inside they have a little to offer to everyone. Horseshoe bar for conversation, plenty of dart boards, pool tables and video bar games. Back to the food. We had some cheese fries as an appetizer and a Meat Lovers or I think it was called the CARNIVORE deep dish pizza. The crust was nice and light, very crispy, great fresh sausage that sat right on top of the pizza starring at you the entire time. The pizza was topped with what I would assume to be a fresh Wisconsin cheese. We took some home and reheated it in the oven at 325 for like 10 mins and it was just as good the second time around as the first. It's that good people. Got a chance to visit with the owner himself for a few minutes. Very nice young owner that seems to have his stuff together. We had a nice conversation that to me showed the guy cares about what he does. Took a few minutes out of his day to stop and ask how things tasted and how we were doing. Class Act! Great bartender Becky as well. Good job GEM CITY. Keep up the great work. We will be back for sure. Just for all of you that are reading this post knows we drove almost 35-40 minutes just to eat at this joint. We will make the drive again.
