this place is definitely a great local spot to watch a game and enjoy some drinks and appetizers. the service is friendly and attentive, the crowd is mostly local and the food and drinks are great. I've been here a couple of times and i will continue to come here as it is one of the only local bars i can rely on to have good food and service as well as the game i want to watch playing on at least one of the TVs without me having to ask. Literally everything we've ever ordered is delicious. Burgers are amazing and the Cajun chicken sandwich is huge. We come here every week, normally not a bad place. Food is decent, good music. Then it changed owners and the plates got smaller and they got all new waitresses. They are all extremely inexperienced. We waited 30-40 minutes for beers and the waitress made up some new rule about not being able to split the check. I would understand if the place was busy, but there was only 2 other tables there. This place has come a long way, however most of the patrons are undesirable people to be around and downright rude and obnoxious. I would probably not recommend this place to hang out and drink beers. The bartenders don't even seem like they want your business. Have been going to that location for a lot of years Cantores, Vitale's, Racezone. The new renovations are great, except for the HVAC system. It really needs to be fine tuned, makes the food literally get cold on the table. When I questioned it I was basically told that it was hot in the bar area, in the mean time they were running the AC where most of the patrons sit and eat. this was in December. Also heard other people complain, but the mgr. did not seem to care. Pizza is pretty good, but some thing was lost in the recipe since Vitales owned the place. read more

I love this place so much but it's hit or miss. The food is always great and the service has always been perfect (bar and tables) but there is no hostess. I don't think that concept works on a Friday/Saturday night. Last time I was there a server walked right by us as I tried to ask her if there was a wait. We ended up walking out. read more

I use to take my kids to this place when it was Racezone they loved the pizza and wings. When it was Racezone both the staff and people there were very nice, mostly working men. Now the staff and people are rude and nasty. My kids don't want go there anymore. My daughter told me "I don't feel safe there. The place is mainly the owners buddies who feel they can do what ever they want. Also sad that after going to the place when it was Vitales and Racezone when the place was a wreck but the staff and people were great it seems it has reversed. read more

I go to the saloon regularly as I live around the corner and recently I have noticed receipt price including tip has not matched what was charged to my card (increasing by $5 or more dollars) when I called to ask questions I was told no one was there to talk to me and I have been waiting for 2 days for a call back. I will not be giving my generous business ($70 for 2 people) and as I work retail near by I will be informing my customers also. read more

Have visited this place a couple time and the food is great but believe it or not will not go back. About 2 years ago ordered some pies as take out used my debit card to pay and 2 days later my card was hacked into. Honestly at the time wasn't real sure how it happened but knew it was either here or one other place I was at over that weekend. Have been there since but paid cash until this past Friday when I again went with my mom and sister. Again used my debit card and wouldn't you know 2 days later someone hacked my credit card. Actually called the place to report that something suspicious was going on there, manager very apologetic but warning to all who visit PAY CASH don't take a chance there is absolutely a thief in this establishment and I'm certain I'm not the only one this has happened too!!! read more

Went to see a friends band. Service was super slow. Ordered boneless buffalo wings. They were so over cooked that they were like eating shoe leather. They gave a huge portion so it would have been great if they were edible. They do have super cheap mixed drinks though. read more

I have been going to General Saloon since it's inception and even before when it was Race Zone and Vitale's. Their thin crust pizza was always a favorite, but being diagnosed with Celiac a year ago has changed menu options for me. We went to General Saloon to order burgers (mine with no roll or cheese). It comes with fries which I cannot eat because of cross contamination. We explained the situation and asked what could be substituted for the fries. We were told two other kinds of fries, broccoli, or a side salad. They also had sautéed onions for $1.25 extra. I said I would take the side salad and asked if they would substitute sautéed onions in place of the roll and cheese. The server said she would ask. She never came back, but when another server delivered our food with the sautéed onions, I assumed they had ok'd the switch. When the bill came, not only had I been charged the $1.25 for onions but also $2.75 extra for the salad. The manager said that even though the server never came back to tell us the onions would be extra and was never told there would be a charge for the salad, there was nothing she could do unless she took it out of her own pocket. She said the additional charge was on the menu. We, however, did not use the menu because we went in for burgers. I informed the manager that I would not pay the extra charges and I am truly sorry it the manager had to actually pay out of her pocket for removing the $5.00 up charge. My hope is that they become more accommodating to people with Celiac, but General Saloon has lost a long time customer. read more

My friend and I came here for a bite to eat on a Sunday afternoon. It took the server about 10 min to even recognize we were there. Finally she came over to us. We got 2 beers and asked for 2 waters, she brought one water over and then we asked for another one which took about 5 min to get. We placed our order I got the Turkey BLT which came with your choice of cheese and my friend got the Sicilian Wrap and we both asked for salad instead of fries. 1. She didn't tell us there was a up charge for salad, I didn't care but it would have been nice to know. 2. My BLT didn't come with cheese, so she said she would take it off the bill meaning the cheese. But if it came with cheese why would she take it off the bill? The food was very dry and nothing special. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

NO ac in the summer (customers and servers sweating),no heat in the winter (customers and servers freezing)..When the owner is asked to donate to local kids leagues his reply is "why should I donate to them? First of all, we walk in and we didn't know if we should sit ourselves or wait for someone. After 10 minutes we see a young guy with a General Saloon jacket walk by us. I stop him to ask what's the deal and he tells me that we can seat ourselves {with an attitude if I may add}. We started off on the wrong foot. We waited another 10 minutes for a waitress to even address the fact that we existed. The food took forever to come out and it was just "ok". Burger was suppossed to be medium-rare and it came out well done. Had to wait forever for the waitress to bring us our check. Definitely not worth the wait and not worth a second visist. Three other couples were going to meet us here and my wife called them to let them know not to come. We went up the street to the new place that just opened. Oh well. read more
