Horrible Service! Will never return but will give my business to the other location on Pan American. This is so bad I considered videoing! There are 16 customers upon our arrival and still no service. The manager (woman in red shirt) did nothing to expedite or organize. The tall male manning the podium spent his time texting on his phone in front of guests. My wife's meal was served 20 minutes before mine though we ordered our bowls together. It was our evening entertainment to watch my bowl sitting on the counter the entire time waiting to be delivered. I stay away from interstate exit-type fast food (e.g. McDonalds), without exception, but my wife and I come to Ghengis Grill approximately every other month. Yes the food is a bit pricey but is worth it when it comes to fresh ingredients you get to choose yourself. Had dinner at the Winrock Genghis Grill and the food was very good! Our server Tina was a real gem! Very Informative and friendly!! She's the one that really made the evening memorable especially after a long work week. We each had the medium sized bowl and Tina also walked us through the beer selection with impeccable memory up selling like a pro. But just okay. I like the concept, but really it's a buffet with uncooked food. and I get skeeved out by buffet because I don't know who has sneezed or coughed on the food. Who is handling that food? A lot of people before it actually gets put into my bowl. Having said that, I did manage to put together something tasty and I didn't get sick. A person can easily put together something vegan. Unfortunately this is the second and LAST time I'll be coming here, I felt like leaving and not even taking my food. This place does not know how to work on a busy day. DISORGANIZED and apparently they don't have enough people working. We were told to sit at the bar and wait until someone took our order, 3 waiters passed by and nothing. There was a huge line behind us, people waiting to grab their food and the cook or whatever he was was more preoccupied where trays were being put than actually being efficient and actually moving fast to get people orders and food in. He actually tried to pick a fight with me when I said "you realize that there is 30 people behind me that want to grab their food and you are telling me to hold the line" like everything in Albuquerque is a disaster to order food or eat out, this place didn't disappoint to enter the list!! read more

Not a fan. We had a couple of issues. Not being meat eaters, we tried this place as a healthy veggie option. We didn't know going in how things worked and our waitress whipped through orientation even though we told her it was our first time. She then showed us three different size metal bowls and told us to select small, medium or large. We asked about prices, and she told us the large was $13.99 so we went with that. We then went and prepared our veggie selections in the tiny little bowl she gave each of us. We filled those things up like we were playing jenga and gave them to the staff to cook. Mine came shortly thereafter and was nice and hot. However it was tiny, only filling the bottom of my large bowl. My husbands still had not arrived by the time I was finished with mine so I asked the waitress, and they brought his over. Cold. So disappointing. In my opinion the poor service and almost thirty dollar tab (two bowls, no drinks) was enough to seal the deal that we wont be returning. I added the photo of my bowl, which was quite delicious. Borderline 4 stars, but that would connote something swankier than genghis is. Don't get me wrong, I am addicted to the food. It's a build your own Mongolian grill. Always comes out delicious. Service average, but they don't ask the servers to do much. Cheap beer makes it a definite plus! You may want to reconsider if you're planning on going on a date, won't impress. Do not eat here!!! I just left after taking about four bites of my dinner...the pork was not cooked thoroughly, the food bar was messy and the floors were sticky. It's really unfortunate that I have to give Genghis Grill a bad review. I've been there several times and my mom had been eating there quite often on her lunch breaks over the years. She's given them a lot of business, and there are many times that she's even secretly paid the bill for groups of military men and women as a kind gesture. We went into the restaurant this past Thanksgiving holiday weekend, looking forward to a good meal, but instead we were met with bad service and ridiculous inflexibility. My mom has always liked that she can order her bowl with a couple eggs in place of rice or noodles, as a more healthy diet choice. When we visited recently, they refused to give her two eggs, insisting that she can only have ONE. She explained that she wanted eggs instead of rice or noodles, and she was of course willing to pay for the second egg, but the server refused. When the server asked the manager, he refused too! It was such a simple request, and it isn't as if she was asking for a FREE extra egg. Is that crazy or what?! It was so ridiculous, we decided to go somewhere else. My mom was treated so poorly after being such a great, consistent customer. This restaurant traded a lot of continuous business for a single egg. That's a big time fail in my eyes. Instead of an expensive Valentine's Day dinner, the wife and I decided to give Genghis Grill a try and we were very surprised. To start, our waiter Griffin did an incredible job keeping us entertained and explained how everything worked really well. While the bowl size may appear small at first, it can be rather deceiving. Very disappointed in our visit today. I don't blame our server, but I do blame poor management. We got to Genghis right at 12, it took a little while for a server to come over to our table but we were still waiting on someone so no biggie. Once our server came to the table we placed our whole order at once and requested the check right away so we could get in and out in an hour. We didn't see our server again after this. We came back from building our bowl and our drinks had been dropped off. When my friends food got dropped off she found her meat wrapped up in plastic. We attempted to flag down someone but no one would stop at our table. I do understand a lunch rush as I'm a manager at a very busy restaurant in Uptown myself, where I was also a bartender and server for years. So I'm typically very lenient when it comes to bad or slow service. We also never got a refill in the hour we were there. We really needed to leave so I finally stopped someone wearing a red polo (everyone else in t-shirts so I assumed she was a manager) she asked who our server was and I explained she didn't tell us her name but I described what she looked like and then another server walking by named our server. 10 minutes passed and still no check or server. Now we're late for work!! I see the same girl in a red shirt at the front of the restaurant, I walk up and ask her if she's a manager in which she responds "yes." So I asked her to cash us out (where I work if a guest EVER stopped me and requested something I would take care of the issue for them myself) Genghis grill is a limited service restaurant, take orders, refill drinks and cash a table out. If your servers are so busy that they can't do that, it's your responsibility as a manager to help them. I explained we weren't paying for one of the dishes of food on our check as the bowl was still completely full sitting on the table with the meat still wrapped in plastic, the manager gave me a little laugh and even though the server walked up at this point and confirmed the plastic story, she needed to see for herself. Funny how after an hour and 20 minutes you finally want to stop at our table. I don't think I'll ever be returning to this place, which makes me sad because we frequent it every couple of weeks for lunch. read more

This restaurant should not be in business anymore. We walked in and were treated so poorly from their hostess, servers and most importantly their manager, Juan. First off the place was so dirty when we walked in. As we walked in we heard other customers commenting how terrible the service was. Unfortunately, we still came in. The hostess tried to seat us on top of other customers even though the entire restaurant was empty. We asked to move and she reluctantly sat us at another table. We looked around "the build your own bowl area "and it didn't look well kept. Food scattered and spilled all over. Next, we tried to order a glass of wine at 8:40, and she said sorry we stop serving at 9:00. Then I asked to speak to their manager. Juan came out and he said he told her that he would have honored it, although we placed our order well before 9:00pm. This was all very confusing because the server then told us we would have to choose another non alcoholic drink to order, although her manager said it was okay to serve us. We said we are leaving and never coming back. Our youngest son loved this restaurant, but sadly it has really gone down hill. We will never be back. I usually have a great experience at this establishment, but today I had a horrible experience! I was greeted and was told I could sit where I'd like only to be asked to move because they wanted to sweep the floor in that section. The bowl that I picked was dirty and it took forever to get my drink. I also requested fried rice and they have me white rice. I also asked for soy sauce and the waiter didn't bring it to me until later. So I'm mostly just bummed out because the food is usually very yummy and the service is usually great. went just the other day. i found a HAIRNET in my food. complain to the waitress, she calls over a manager who extremely reluctantly offers me the option of making another bowl. I agree and ask if it will be free, manager (one with the tattoo sleeves, never gave his name) walks over and eventually gives me a new bowl. here I am HORRIFIED THAT I FOUND A HAIRNET IN MY DISH, manager says oh well give you a discount. got 5$ off a total of a 50$ bill. horrible service as well, I was sitting with dirty dishes a a bowl with hair in it for 30 mins. we were then rushed out.
