I ordered off the menu which I never do, but I thought I would try it. I don't recommend it. With as many options as are available I ended up with a bowl full of peas. I ordered a large but got a medium at the table. I asked the server about it and he said they cooked it in a large bowl... yeah, sure. We had a birthday party close to here and havent been in a while so we decided to eat. I got the small bowl, husband got the mid size bowl and we got our son white rice as he was sharing with us. The chicken looked like it had been out a bit but I got it anyway. The additional things you can add to a bowl have been modified a bit since i came last. Jalapenos chopped up finely, carrots super finely shredded and they I guess did away with the teriyaki sauce so i went with 3G. They brought i over fairly quickly and it was just ok, not like it had been the last time we were here. I know sometimes short cuts have to be made but maybe they made a few too many. There was also a dead roach outside the bathroom (large one, not the typical small roaches) and although I was glad he was dead, I hated to see it there. read more

This is a serve yourself kind of place so I'll say the buffet station to get your bowl made is usually kind of messy, empty bowls, but the employees try their best to keep it clean and well stocked - if I was reviewing the food and other elements I probably wouldn't do 5 stars. But I'm here to brag about about Passion! Everytime she is our server, she's so personable and makes sure you're taken care of. She really cares about making sure your having a good day, that you have the food and drinks you want, and she's so funny and attentive. thats it ! now this location and this company is down to the final star. as for the store its poorly ran and ran by lazy employees and im guessing its also a lazy manager. twice I showed up and the manager just wears his 49ers jacket and stands around doing absolutely nothing while the restaurant gets filled with patrons and he just stands there doing nothing to help out. not even in uniform he just sits there just looking at people and stays on his phone or just stares knowing his staff is getting over whelmed by customers and orders. and not only the manger is lazy but you look at the store and its dirty you have a slow cook getting a bunch of orders not wearing a cap when cooking or to cover his beard and hair. it doesn't take 20mins or more to cook food but then again he has over ten different bowls waiting on the counter and the manager is just sitting at the table doing nothing so I can't blame him. nobody is refilling the meats or veggies because well there's nobody there to take care of it since they only have a few staff members. you have another one wearing an orange hoodie with headphones just hanging out with the manger sitting down and every so often picks up bowls and refills it. does he even work there? as for the company side of things they need to hire a better group of staff or something else because this restaurant is poorly ran. the price of food to eat here is beyond crazy I used to be able to get a large bowl with a drink and tip for $21 or below and now I pay $40 thats crazy it takes me $40 just to eat a bowl of food and a drink. large bowl $25 drink $5 egg $2.50 mango flavor $1 tip $7 all they do is drop off the food and give you drink refills and thats it. tipping needs to be removed and let customers refill their own drinks because they are really not doing anything other then getting people to tip just for getting a refill and dropping off the bowl. the layout of the food. needs to be changed and they need to hire staff that waits in that area incase there's somebody who needs help. im only 5'9 and I have to slouch over just so I can reach food thats further in the back all while having that sneeze guard glass rubbing close to my face. and I see short people sticking their heads under the sneeze guard and into the food area so that they can reach the food in the back and I see their hair on that food that defeats the point of having a sneeze guard its gross and very disgusting. I won't be back here or to eat at this restaurant thats too expensive when honestly ill just make it at home. read more

First, all the meats (chicken, steak, scrimp) looked old, slimy, and the tongs were dirty. Some of of the meats didn't have names.... I want to compliment Genghis Grill on the job they did accommodating our large party. We had around 14 people gather here for a birthday boy who loves this place. They had our tables set up and ready when we arrived and had servers who were on point and taking care of us from start to finish. It was a great place for a group since everyone pretty much creates their own bowls and they have something for everyone. Tons of meat, veggie and sauce choices and everything is cooked to order. They also took great caution when I informed them I was allergic to shell fish and they made sure to show me how they separated my food from everyone else's and even cleaned the grill before putting my food on. (I know they do this anyway, but they made sure I was extra comfortable with everything before proceeding). Kudos to the cooks. They were awesome as were the servers. been coming here almost seven years. this time it was pretty bad. I choose white rice as base. there were chunks of dried chunky rice, I like broccoli but they only have the stalks missing the best part. big fail there plus I put up a cup of sweet and sour but none of it made it to my food. if zero rating were possible that would be it for me. probably won't come back. and to top it all off the small bowl (which is tiny) is now $12.49!!! wtf? and hands out for tip at the grill AND when paying and the tip shame screen starts at 20%! So we arrived at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday. They said they were changing shifts. No one seemed to know what to do. We finally got water and the waiter asked us what we wanted. We then were told to go to the buffet but there was no one to help us so we stood there for at least 5 minutes waiting for a bowl to fill. My husband ordered a beer but it has not arrived yet. This is crazy! Don't come if you are in a hurry. This is one level up from fast food. We only came because we had a BOGO(buy one get one free). Btw it is not crowded at all. Maybe 3 tables. So you can't blame busy on the problem. Not sure if I would come again for the price. One medium bowl is $16 each. If not for the BOGO forget it. Food took about 15 minutes to get here. Waiter checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Food was pretty good. Needless to say we were hungry and ate it all! read more
