Always a staple for my family. We can go to any of their locations and it is solid. The orange beef is always a must for us. We usually will get duck, fried pork belly, and char siu, salt and pepper fried tofu, and beef flat noodles. We prob visit a location about once every other month. Great place. We got a 3-meat plate with duck, roast pork, and bbq pork - the duck was absolutely the standout, but the pork was pretty delicious as well. I also got an order of bbq pork fried rice and it was just okay. Way too greasy and way too little pork. I was glad to have the extra from the 3-meat plate to supplement. Gyoza were fantastic! Egg rolls were mostly dough; would not order again. If I had never had Cantonese BBQ in NYC or London, I may give this a higher rating, but the comparison can't be helped. My go to place for roast pork and BBQ duck in DFW. Fresh meats are the specialty of this restaurant and they sell several pigs a day so I can rest assured the cuts I get aren't hanging around for prolonged periods of time. The duck is seasoned so well and super juicy!! Ask my friend's cat - no bags can stop him from getting his share! There are so many a la carte dishes I have yet to try including their lobster and Hong Kong style teas. I'll be back for an update no doubt. Remember to bring cash as it is cash only. The inside is very decently maintained, larger than expected, and clean! I usually stop by after getting groceries in the area and it's super convenient to swing by. We've been coming here for so many years! It's definitely a hidden gem in Haltom. I must go ahead and warn people they are still **CASH ONLY** The food there is always delicious-- prob the most authentic you will find on that side of town in terms of Chinese food. They have fresh roasted duck and marinated chicken hanging in the window when you first walk in. The place is not big but it's cozy and the service is always friendly and fast. Today we dined in and ordered the Roasted Duck & Marinated Chicken combo (always a must), we tried the Chinese Beef Soup (this was just okay for me, it's like egg drop soup with beef in it, it just felt like it was missing something to really make it good) and the Eggplant & Pork dish (this was SO good, we definitely recommend getting it here-- BUT I will add tho, that the one at Dragon House in Southlake, has not been beat yet!) Great quality Cantonese food. Simple and staightforward service. Cash only. After a long day of apartment hunting, my parents and I decided on First Chinese BBQ as our dinner to end the day. Apparently, there are multiple locations around the DFW area, including Richardson and Arlington, and no connection to the one in Austin (which we've been to and is worth visiting). The inside decos definitely fits the feel of a canto or hong kong style diner. You're immediately greeted by a showcase of Chinese bbq at the front. We were promptly seated by one of the servers who spoke Cantonese which is always a plus for my parents. We ordered a mixed plate of the roast duck, roast pork, soy sauce chicken, a tofu chicken mushroom sizzling plate, and a mushroom snowpea dish. I'm sure there's a more accurate description for the two latter dishes, but we ordered in Cantonese and I didn't really look at the menu. The mushroom snowpea dish was flavorful and saucy. The snowpeas and bamboo shoots provided a nice crunchy texture. The tofu chicken mushroom sizzling plate was also good, but wasn't as flavorful in comparison. I really liked the tofu in this since it soaked up the sauce in the dish. I would've liked more chicken. There were a few slices at the bottom of the dish. Lastly, the mixed chinese bbq was great. Each meat provided a punch of flavor. The soy sauce chikcne was especially moist and tender. Some of the roast pork was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were dry. Some pieces didn't have crunchy skin. Cash only business! Pretty decent family style Chinese food for the area. I have heard the Richardson location is the OG and best but I haven't been to compare. The restaurant was clean, though did smell of...intestines due to the nature of the more authentic dishes. Roast duck and bbq pork are on the menu but I didn't get a chance to try any of them. We did have the orange beef and the lomein (called something else here) and both dishes were pretty good. The beef was a bit tougher cuts, but nothing too gristle that I couldn't chew through. I will say I prefer the orange chicken to the beef, though. Probably due to the chewability since the flavors are both the same. Nice crunch with the sauce, too. Service was great and attentive. Really really great. Our dinner here definitely lived up to the hype and was totally worth the slight anxiety of if we had enough cash on us to pay the bill LOL. We got the fried pork chops, orange chicken, seafood hot pot, roast duck, barbecue pork, barbecue fried rice and beef flat noodle. Our bill was $150 after tip, which wasn't bad at all considering how much food we got. It fed 3 grown people with large appetites and a teenage boy with an even bigger appetite. And we had plenty of leftovers. We thought portion sizes were good. Barbecue pork was awesome, savory and sweet just delectable. Roasted duck was kind of boney (not like that's their fault) but the skin just melted in your mouth and had the best flavor. Fried rice and flat noodles, both great. Fried pork chops were surprisingly good, they were CRISPY, and again the portion sizes..... you would expect maybe two pieces? But there was a plate full. I think the seafood hotpot was one of the weaker items, but by all accounts it was still tasty and was loaded with shrimp and various seafood; just wasn't quite as flavorful as the rest. I belong to Asian group DFW eat I believe and they have been raving about this place. Well they are not wrong!! Peeking duck was delicious! Skin was crispy and meat was cooked to perfection. Wish I would've ordered a full portion of duck instead of just the plate. But will come back soon anyway. Wonton soup was HUGE portion. And it was delicious. This place was GOOD. It's quite difficult to find authentic Cantonese food in Dallas/ Fort Worth, so it's a relief to have found this place through a recommendation. The best Chinese food is usually the most humble ones run by a family. The inside of the restaurant isn't huge but can accommodate a couple large parties if needed. We ordered a total of 12 dishes, not all of which I remember. The highlights were: sweet and sour pork, bbq pork, salt and pepper tofu, water spinach, and yang zhou fried rice. The sweet and sour pork was by far the most crispy I've had with the right balance of sweetness and tangy. Bbq pork was roasted with a perfect glaze over it while being tender in the inside. The salt and pepper tofu was also nicely crisp on the outside with a spicy kick. The water spinach was super fresh and green. The fried rice was well mixed with plenty of condiments and rice. With the amount we ordered, I was super impressed how fast we received all our dishes. Everything took about 20 mins max. Don't let the simple exterior fool you. This place is a nice cozy location. The food there is fantastic. It's not overly salty or greasy and the flavor is sublime. They have ample vegetarian dishes at well. The salt & pepper tofu was really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was nestled in some jalapeños so there was a kick of heat if you accidentally consumed some. The only downside is that if you go in at an extremely busy time, you won't be able to get your tea served in the pots and will be served in the plastic cups. I think the people who get upset that their service is bad seems to forget there's not that much staff and This style of restaurant is straight to the point . Arrived 45 minutes before closing and ordered the following: Roast duck noodle soup- Dark rich broth with juicy pieces of duck breast and leg, skin was lacquered with a nice sheen with springy al dente egg noodles.. Shrimp fried rice- Simple, tasty with good notes of wok hei. Orange chicken- Came out super hot and crispy, even after sitting for a few minutes in the orange glaze. Even the poached side broccoli was cooked well, not under or over cooked. Salt and pepper tofu- Probably our favorite dish. Warning, this dish comes out at molten lava temperature. Super crispy shell with a velvety custard center. Could have used a bit more salt and pepper seasoning, but still very eggsaladlent. Beef flat nooldes stir fry- Another simple yet tasty dish with tender velveted beef and hints of wok hei. Bring cash because they don't need dishwashers. read more

When you walk in the first things you see are a case with, usually, whole bbq ducks and a pink/red colored bbq pork. The restaurant itself looked like a diner with several booths, tables and large tables for big groups. The menu is extensive with pics, but there are limited descriptions of all the dishes. I am GF/DF. The wait staff was able to answer the ingredients as such based on my choices. Even when this place is busy, they are prompt with serving the food. The food itself is flavorful and delicious.
