The service is okay, water is good, ask for tea and you get a tea bag in a cup. - Hot & Sour Soup 4.6/5 Solid hot and sour soup. Delicious with extra white pepper. - Egg Drop Soup 2.1/5 It tastes like normal egg drop soup, but I didn't like the addition of peas and carrots. - House Crispy Noodle 3.8/5 Crispy deep fried noodles with Chinese sauce veggies and protein on top. - Young Chow Fried Rice 4.7/5 Solid fried rice, it wasn't too dry or too wet. Had good texture, a good amount of protein. - Bittermelon with beef 3.6/5 I really really enjoyed the beef. It was tender and tasted good. I didn't like the bittermelon-it was bitter.. - Water Spinach 3.1/5 Basic water spinach that was quickly boiled. - Roasted Duck 4.2/5 Thick pieces of roasted duck, not too dry. - BBQ Pork 5/5 Yummy tasting, not dry! [RECOMMEND THE HALF W DUCK] - Salted Chicken 3.8/5 Just regular chicken, almost like hainan chicken, bland. Free parking in lot.

We've been coming here for so many years! It's definitely a hidden gem in Haltom. I must go ahead and warn people they are still **CASH ONLY** The food there is always delicious-- prob the most authentic you will find on that side of town in terms of Chinese food. They have fresh roasted duck and marinated chicken hanging in the window when you first walk in. The place is not big but it's cozy and the service is always friendly and fast. Today we dined in and ordered the Roasted Duck & Marinated Chicken combo (always a must), we tried the Chinese Beef Soup (this was just okay for me, it's like egg drop soup with beef in it, it just felt like it was missing something to really make it good) and the Eggplant & Pork dish (this was SO good, we definitely recommend getting it here-- BUT I will add tho, that the one at Dragon House in Southlake, has not been beat yet!) Everything is served family style and they'll get their 5th star once they accept card transactions lol.

Great quality Cantonese food. Simple and staightforward service. Cash only. After a long day of apartment hunting, my parents and I decided on First Chinese BBQ as our dinner to end the day. Apparently, there are multiple locations around the DFW area, including Richardson and Arlington, and no connection to the one in Austin (which we've been to and is worth visiting). The inside decos definitely fits the feel of a canto or hong kong style diner. You're immediately greeted by a showcase of Chinese bbq at the front. We were promptly seated by one of the servers who spoke Cantonese which is always a plus for my parents. We ordered a mixed plate of the roast duck, roast pork, soy sauce chicken, a tofu chicken mushroom sizzling plate, and a mushroom snowpea dish. I'm sure there's a more accurate description for the two latter dishes, but we ordered in Cantonese and I didn't really look at the menu. The mushroom snowpea dish was flavorful and saucy. The snowpeas and bamboo shoots provided a nice crunchy texture. The tofu chicken mushroom sizzling plate was also good, but wasn't as flavorful in comparison. I really liked the tofu in this since it soaked up the sauce in the dish. I would've liked more chicken. There were a few slices at the bottom of the dish. Lastly, the mixed chinese bbq was great. Each meat provided a punch of flavor. The soy sauce chikcne was especially moist and tender. Some of the roast pork was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were dry. Some pieces didn't have crunchy skin. Other things to note. Everything went well with rice. In fact, I'm sure we got at least three bowls of rice. Service was great. Consistently checked on us and kind hospitality

Cash only business! Pretty decent family style Chinese food for the area. I have heard the Richardson location is the OG and best but I haven't been to compare. The restaurant was clean, though did smell of...intestines due to the nature of the more authentic dishes. Roast duck and bbq pork are on the menu but I didn't get a chance to try any of them. We did have the orange beef and the lomein (called something else here) and both dishes were pretty good. The beef was a bit tougher cuts, but nothing too gristle that I couldn't chew through. I will say I prefer the orange chicken to the beef, though. Probably due to the chewability since the flavors are both the same. Nice crunch with the sauce, too. Service was great and attentive. Price point is fair.

Today was a decent visit! The servers were good, often coming back to check on our table. The food was great although the server told me I couldn't do a particular order that I have ordered at other First Chinese BBQ locations. The restaurant was quiet inside and decently lit. Glad to come by today.

This was my second time going there. I love their flat beef noodles. They are very good flavor. Their Chinese food is authentic so as this restaurant is so traditional. Only cash. I didn't know and I forgot to bring my atm card so I was not able to order many items. The atmosphere for this restaurant is very clean and pretty. From outside you will not able to tell how nice inside is. I wish I can request this restaurant to take card or some kind of different payment.

I have been coming here for the last 12 years. I have never been disappointed. That roast pork is the best I have ever had.

Cash only no credit cards. This place looks good but I wasn't able to try it since I couldn't use my company card for a work trip.

Food was very good, as was the service. However, there was no heat and it was unbearably cold.

Ask the Community - First Chinese BBQ

For takeout do they use the styrofoam containers with the 3 small compartments usually used for leftovers or larger containers to make sure you get the same portion as the large platters when dining in?

When I order crispy noodles, the noodles come in Styrofoam but the sauce comes in a large plastic soup container I believe it is pretty close to the regular size. I believe…

    Is this restaurant BYOB?

They don't have alcohol service but I would call them to see if BYOB is allowed.

I had been craving combination fried rice all day, so I hopped on Door Dash and looked for what I had a mental picture floating around in my head all day. Funny thing is, we have a "usual" place we order Chinese food from, but their fried rice, wasn't what I was desiring. As I scanned the different restaurants I found that Ying's fried rice looked like what my brain was craving! This was our first time ordering but won't be the last, I of course got the combination fried rice, which was delicious, all the proteins I had hoped for and fresh, crisp vegetables. The flavor was exactly what I wanted! Hubs got Chicken fried rice and he ate almost the whole container lol, we both are the type that can make two meals off of a fried rice. The portions were large, and piping hot, the oblong black containers with the clear lid. My brother ordered Garlic Shrimp, and he truly enjoyed it, the next day he told me it was the best Chinese food he'd had since moving here about 3 years ago! We will definitely order again, and when we do I will try to remember to take photos!
