Jumbo Coconut Shrimp

The most amazing experience I had for my birthday as a seafood and ocean lover that it had me crying at the end. The servers were so professional and amusing as they tried to guess my age. We were seated outdoors where the patio was lit by bonfire and fairy lights, giving it an intimate and comfy feeling. Despite the outdoor setting at 9PM mid-winter in California, it was pretty warm, unlike the walk outside the venue :') The complimentary ice cream at the end to celebrate my birthday was the icing on top. Hope my crying didn't scare the servers LOL 10/10 to service and setting + sappy girlfriend approved! Would definitely cry again :')

Overall great restaurant. Nice place to eat for some seafood by the beach. If you're lucky, they'll seat you closer to the edge so you have a better view, otherwise it's not a great view of the beach or anything except the sky haha. Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is but you're here for the vibes more than anything. Cant complain about service, the hostess, waiter, and valet were all nice. Unfortunately the only parking option will be valet so have that extra cost ready. They do allow you to pay for validation with your bill, so that's convenient. Came here for a special anniversary but I don't believe they offer anything extra for special celebration days.

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

This seaside restaurant has incredible ocean views. We've always had great food here, but on this visit it missed a beat. We've never seen it as busy as this visit and I will show them grace as they were completely full with graduates. Service by Austin and his associates was polished. My food was especially disappointing. The crab cake on the Benedict was flat as a pancake and barely warm, so were the roasted potatoes. The accompanying fruit was fresh. The salmon looked amazing, as did the scallops. Chicken piccata was a bit dry and didn't have much lemony flavor. This is a great location for a special occasion, but I'll keep in mind the possibility of a crowd affecting food quality.

Geoffrey's was wonderful! We had an ocean view outdoor table that was cozy and intimate to celebrate our engagement. Staff was very kind and prompt with service. We didn't feel rushed or pressured to order anything. Our server was very helpful when modifying menu options and responsive to questions. He even gave us a cute candle to celebrate and took our photo. Food was exceptional! The portion size was very reasonable and all our food was prepared well. The bread that came out before the meal was delightful. The bar made some of the best cocktails we have had. I really enjoyed our celebratory meal! I would highly recommend checking this place out. They do valet parking and add it to your check. The staff was very nice. The restaurant was clean. And the views are show stopping (I was too shocked to take any pictures, but Instagram doesn't lie!) . It was such a lovely place to celebrate our engagement and I would go again when in Malibu.

Amazing spot for a brunch date!! I loved the food, it was very fresh and the views from where we were seating was breathtaking. Make sure to ask for good seating because they have amazing spots to take photos of. The staff were friendly as well and they brought our food pretty quick. I totally recommend for a weekend brunch date.

Geoffrey's keeps its reputation for a reason. Everything from their service, food and of course, their view is outstanding. We had a beautiful time celebrating a family birthday where we had Angela as our waitress. She was so kind and made us feel so comfortable. We ordered the sea bass, sword fish and New York steak. All tasted delicious!

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

Scallops and risotto ( I dream of this dish lol)

Geoffrey's has been a special occasion go to for 30+ years and never disappoints. The food is amazing, the Malibu location is so beautiful it feels like a mini vacation and the service is always on point. My husband took me for my birthday last week and it was wonderful. We ordered past favorites- starting with their delicious tuna tartare and sharing the scallops and risotto along with the lobster cobb. If you haven't tried it- you are missing out big time.

Sunset from the table
Mackenzie M.

Such an amazing sunset view. I loved the way they have the tables hugging the mountain for optimal views. The food was amazing. The staff was also great. The scallops were great. The oysters were good but seemed like it was just one variety. There was no description of where the oysters were from. The coconut shrimp was also great. The ahi tuna was good but we wish it came with more than 3 wanton crackers.

Steak is incredibly overdone - cook didn't remake it when he remade the eggs that had a ton of shells in them... absurd.

What is the usual attire here? How dressy is too dressy short of a prom dress......lol

I saw a couple of dudes in shorts, and I wore ripped jeans with heels at dinner time so I would say semi formal if you want. Place is nice but the fancy part would be the check so you don't need a long dress just a fat wallet lol

What vegan options are there? Someone please let me know...... thank you! Specific dishes? Thanks again......

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

What is the price range? The menu in the website doesn't have prices

If you go to the Yelp site and look at all pictures and then single out "menu photo's" you can get an idea of the cost per item. Apps start at about $18 and go to $22, Dinner items start at $29 for miso braised tofu and go to $94 for surf and turf… Read more

Came at around 2 pm on a weekday so was luckily able to find a parking spot and there was no line to order. If it's busy, good luck. Food was delicious and priced well. Shrimp basket - 10/10 Shrimp were fried perfectly to be honest. Got 6 shrimp over french fries (the fries were also great, thicker pieces that were fried perfectly). Tartar sauce was great, the cocktail sauce as well (and I don't normally like cocktail sauce). Filled me up great. Small clam chowder - 7/10 Pretty solid clam chowder. I probably wouldn't get it again, but the first few spoonfuls were great and very enjoyable. Some of the clam towards the bottom was more chewy which wasn't ideal. Got a bread roll as well and it came with oyster crackers. Spent roughly $30 total, around $20 on the shrimp basket and another $6-7 on the clam chowder. Would 100% come here again, highly recommend if you're in the area looking for some tasty seafood.

We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.

The gentleman that rung me joked that they sold out of the wrap and when I tell you, I almost cried I was stressed but so relieved he was just trying to have some fun. I ordered my wrap and Diet Coke and sat off to the side. After a day at the beach, my clothes were a little damp from the sea water and it was windy. I was chilly and saw the cutest grey sweatshirt. I was happy to find out that I didn't have to wait back in line to buy merch. I bought the sweatshirt and sat down, finally cozy. My buzzer rang and let me tell you, that wrap is HEFTY! I'm a big girl but I could only manage to have half. It was delicious. Not too salty, each bite was so good. The salad was finely chopped, the tortilla wrap was toasted and chewy. Generous chunks of lobster, a sardine or two in there. My only wish would be that they would offer this online to order ahead of time. While I was at the beach I was able to text the store and ask if this was possible. Even though they said no, I would happily wait in line again for another. Highly recommend! Lucked out on a Thursday and was able to find parking right away. It's very chill here. & yes there's usually lots of bikers that come here. There's 2 entrances & 2 different counters to order at. The main counter has all the fried food while the back entry has all the steamed seafood. On the main side, grab your drinks from the refrigerator, then lineup to order food at the counter. They give you a receipt with your order number. You seat yourself. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Clam chowder was ok. Definitely a lot of clams in it and soup consistency is thinner... Fish & Chips were ok but a decent size. Breaded, but not an overly greasy batter. I did have to drench it in the tartar sauce. At least the fish wasn't overly salty... French fries were mid... Calamari, I actually liked. Maybe because of the light batter. It was a tad chewy if that's your preference. I'll always remember the iconic Fast & the Furious scene. We miss you Paul!

Open since 1958, this iconic seafood shack has also been featured in The Fast and the Furious, making it a popular destination for both food lovers and movie fans. We ordered the clam chowder, a three-item fried seafood combo (shrimp, clams, and calamari), upgraded the fries to onion rings for an extra $4.95, a hamburger, steamed mussels, and raw oysters. The onion rings and clam chowder were my favorite dishes. Clam chowder wasn't overly salty, had plenty of potatoes, and I was happy to find a good amount of clams. The fried seafood combo was a mixed experience. The shrimp was fresh, but the calamari wasn't as crispy as I expected. Unfortunately, the fried clams were disappointing because I mostly tasted the batter, which was a bit overcooked, and couldn't really taste the clams. Looking back, I wish I had ordered the crab cakes and scallops instead--my friends said those were the highlights of their meal. The steamed mussels were fresh, but pretty plain on their own. The melted butter provided helped add some flavor. The raw oysters were fresh and tasted good. The hamburger was just okay--nothing particularly memorable. Parking (free) was surprisingly easy for a Friday lunchtime visit, and one of the best parts is the location. The beach is directly across the street, so it's easy to enjoy a walk by the ocean before or after your meal. Service was excellent and helpful when placing order. Showed me where to get water and utensils. One thing to note is that there isn't a restroom inside the restaurant. Instead, there are portable public restrooms located in the parking lot. Overall, Neptune's Net is worth visiting at least once for the classic roadside seafood experience, ocean views, and movie history. While not every dish impressed me, the clam chowder, shrimp, and the unbeatable Malibu location made it an enjoyable stop.

Chef Boyardee left the building in 1965.
