I wanted to share my disappointment regarding my birthday dinner at your restaurant Saturday night July 25th @5pm. We spent nearly $500, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet the expectations we had for such a special occasion. The ocean view was a beautiful view, but the food didn't match the price or the occasion. I was surprised that the New York steak was served with french fries and that you didn't have baked potatoes. It felt like something you get at a casual restaurant then a fine dining steakhouse, and the filet mignon was served with two pieces of asparagus. The Watermelon salad was simply plain and the watermelon wasn't even sweet!!! Everything Was served out of a bag, the arugula, slivered almonds and feta!! Simply plain!! Nothing fancy!! I have to say the crabcakes were excellent on a beautiful presentation and the dessert was absolutely delicious and that was the best part of the meal!! I don't like comparing restaurants, but at many other places we've celebrated birthdays, the staff has gone out of their way to make the guest of honor feel special. There is usually some acknowledgment, attentive service throughout the meal, and an overall experience that feels like a celebration. Sadly, none of that happened during our visit. I do want to recognize our waitress, who was the only server covering the entire patio. She worked incredibly hard and did an amazing job despite having so many tables to manage. She was not the issue. However, I was disappointed by another female staff member who was serving the black pepper. I simply asked for extra pepper on my steak, and she appeared irritated and walked away abruptly, which felt unprofessional and left a negative impression. Overall, there was nothing special about the dinner presentation or atmosphere that made my birthday feel special. For a celebration that cost nearly $500, I left feeling disappointed and wishing the experience had matched the quality of food and reputation your restaurant is known for & spending nearly $500!!

I will come here for the view. Not the food. The lobster was chewy. You have to chew it for about three whole minutes before you can swallow it. None of the food had any real flavor. I think all they use as a pinch of salt and pepper for everything. We were completely underwhelmed. Our server was extremely nice though. We did love him. Just not the food.

Geoffrey's is one of those restaurants I keep coming back to about once a year. Every time I visit, the breathtaking ocean view makes me feel like I can finally take a deep breath. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place. I've tried quite a few of their seafood dishes over the years, and they've consistently been excellent. On this visit, we came for lunch and ordered the corn soup, crab cakes, Chilean sea bass, and skirt steak. Every single dish was delicious, especially the sea bass and crab cakes. One of my favorite Saturday plans is having a relaxing lunch at Geoffrey's and then taking a stroll through the Getty Villa afterward. It's the perfect combination of great food, stunning scenery, and a relaxing afternoon. If you're looking for a restaurant with incredible ocean views, consistently good seafood, and a memorable dining experience, Geoffrey's is always worth the drive.

We made reservations for dinner while visiting Malibu. Our seat had amazing views overlooking the water, it was nice to have the heaters as it was a bit chilly the day of our reservation. Our server was great with good wine recommendations based on the steaks we ordered. We started with oysters, I loved the East Coast oysters, they were so flavorful and perfectly shucked. We both ordered steaks which were perfectly cooked and had such great flavor. It was a lovely meal with amazing views. We followed up with a walk down to the beach to take advantage of the beach access before we headed out to watch the Malibu sunset.

The ambiance here is first rate. Overlooking the Ocean & hearing the waves is a huge bonus. The wait Staff is prompt with attention to detail as well as the customer. Not one thing out of order, all attended to, as it should be. For those who follow my reviews you know this service is Not at All restaurants. The Dirty Martini order was excellent! Dinner order is Pan Seared Salmon. And it is delicious and magical. So so good!! I recommend Geoffrey's Malibu

Geoffrey's was fantastic! I took my husband here for his birthday, and he loved it! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, but the view is breathtaking. We went again years later for our anniversary, and we celebrated here just the two of us. The views are still magnificnet and the food is always on point.

Overall great restaurant. Nice place to eat for some seafood by the beach. If you're lucky, they'll seat you closer to the edge so you have a better view, otherwise it's not a great view of the beach or anything except the sky haha. Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is but you're here for the vibes more than anything. Cant complain about service, the hostess, waiter, and valet were all nice. Unfortunately the only parking option will be valet so have that extra cost ready. They do allow you to pay for validation with your bill, so that's convenient. Came here for a special anniversary but I don't believe they offer anything extra for special celebration days.

Great customer service! The layout was exceptional! Such a gorgeous view, I kept pinching myself to see if I was dreaming. Every dish was very tasty! I believe Austin was our waiter, and he was just a cool guy! Highly recommend!!

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

Great wonderful classy casual location for a memorable birthday or any celebration for that matter or for no reason at all. Beautiful setting against the backdrop of the deep Pacific Ocean, clear blue skies as the sunsets into the west. Food was just as exquisite as the ambiance. Perfectly cooked lobster, salmon and paella. Crustacean was tender and flaky. Drinks are strong especially the martinis The initial serving of bread and their churned/whipped butter was a nice welcome touch. If you get there early (and you should), head down to the beach for a relaxing walk or sit down right before dinner. Reason I give only 4 out of 5 stars is due to the hostess (Not the girl who showed us our table though). The very first person we see at the entrance and there was absolutely no smile, no warmth, not welcoming at all. Just cold and robotic. It felt as if she was there only because it was a court ordered mandated community service requirement in order for her to stay out of jail or something.....very disappointing. Such a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and classy service only to be dinged by the very first staff you encounter. We dined on 8/23/26 Arrived around 6pm

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

Whaler is the best lunch table out of the sun with an ocean view?

I would say yes! I'm sure you can request from the pictures on their website where you would like to be seated.

Do they have sweet potato fries?

    No. They don't.

Are there any vegetarian appetizers and dishes?

    Yes they are.

    What time is lunch served?

    After 11 am

Can I bring my dog with me?

I believe so, there is outside seating. Most of the restaurant is outside.

Do u have high chairs for toddlers?

    i think so

How do you get a table with an ocean view/ seaside table?

Once you place your reservation by online or phone let them know you want to reserve a table by the ocean view and they definitely will accommodate you

What is the usual attire here? How dressy is too dressy short of a prom dress......lol

I saw a couple of dudes in shorts, and I wore ripped jeans with heels at dinner time so I would say semi formal if you want. Place is nice but the fancy part would be the check so you don't need a long dress just a fat wallet lol

What vegan options are there? Someone please let me know...... thank you! Specific dishes? Thanks again......

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

What is the price range? The menu in the website doesn't have prices

If you go to the Yelp site and look at all pictures and then single out "menu photo's" you can get an idea of the cost per item. Apps start at about $18 and go to $22, Dinner items start at $29 for miso braised tofu and go to $94 for surf and turf…

How much is the valet at night?

Today for lunch it's posted to be $12.00 - added to your bill

Is there like a dress code or can you go in causal?

    We wore hiking gear

How much do they charge for a bottle of Dom or Moët?

A lot! We brought our own Moet and paid corkage. You are allowed 2 bottles per table. I think corkage is around 30-40

Are they still pet friendly even during COVID 19?

    Yes

Do you need to make a reservation?

    It is highly recommended.

    Can you wear flip flops?

    I wore sparkly ones

How is free Parking in Geoffrey's restaruant malibu?

    1) Find free street parking on either side of PCH and walk 2) Pull right up and Valet for $10

    Do they have happy hour?

    Not that I know of...

What's the best spot to sit to enjoy the view?

I understand that everything is more expensive these days, especially at a premium establishment in a place like Malibu. However, there's a basic principle that businesses sometimes lose sight of: customers may initially be shocked by a price increase, but if the quality remains consistent, the price is usually forgotten. People don't necessarily remember exactly what something cost one, three, or five years ago, but they absolutely remember the experience. When I got my lobster roll, my first thought was, "This looks like half the lobster they used to give you." I figured maybe I was remembering it wrong, so I went through some old Yelp photos. I wasn't. The rolls from a few years ago had easily twice the amount of lobster, if not more. Judging by some of the recent reviews, I'm apparently not the only person who has noticed. I would have genuinely rather paid twice the price and gotten the lobster roll I remembered than pay what I did for what I received today. And truthfully, I couldn't even tell you what I paid three years ago, because it didn't matter. What I remembered was the quality. This has always been a premium establishment, and I've never had a problem paying premium prices for it. Unfortunately, the price is still premium, but the experience no longer is. And $6 for a small bottle of Coke was just insult to injury.

Chips and salsa were so fresh and homemade. Me and my husband both had the tacos Malibu plate as the menu was overwhelmingly yummy looking and we had tired brains! Did not disappoint. Service was courteous and they did not check on us during our meal which was really appreciated so we could dine in peace and not feel rushed. I hope i'm able to return to this area again someday thank you for the mems

The only thing is they told us that the hours on Google are wrong so they were going to close very soon. I would call and ask prior to visiting. Luckily, they served us very quickly and were very kind!! The food was DELICIOUS. Everyone left very satisfied and happy. My vegan taco was something that I still think about to this day. Very flavorful and unique. The staff was amazing too-- they made sure that we had the best experience possible. I recommend this spot to my friends anytime they need good food and drinks in Malibu! I'll be back soon!

The location is absolutely beautiful, with incredible ocean views, a relaxing beach atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy a meal by the water. The food was great, the service was friendly, and the staff helped make the whole experience enjoyable. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or just to enjoy the scenery, it's a great place to slow down and take in the Malibu coastline. A perfect spot for a beach day, a casual meal, or showing visitors a classic California view. Highly recommend!

Beautiful setting, disappointing experience…read more We ordered the "Huge Paradise Platter" (Hot Combo), and I honestly felt like I was being pranked by how long it took to arrive. Unfortunately, once it finally came out, I realized the wait was probably because the ribs and chicken had been cooked for far too long. The meat was completely overcooked--more like beef jerky than something you'd expect to be served at a restaurant. It was essentially inedible. The fish and shrimp reminded me of frozen dinners from my early childhood which is not the vibe we had in mind! The ambience was okay, although I have to say it looks much better on social media. We were seated at a table with sand on it, which even in a beach setting is unacceptable. Our server seemed overwhelmed, to the point that I ended up ordering my drinks directly from the bar. I asked for a glass bottle of still water, and she had no idea what I was referring to. On a more positive note... Amelia, the host, was absolutely incredible. Her professionalism, warmth, and level of service stood out dramatically in comparison to the rest of the experience. Honestly, I hope she eventually has an opportunity to bring that level of service to an establishment that truly complements it. She is the only reason I'm giving Paradise Cove 2 stars instead of 1. The location has potential but the food and service need significant improvement.

(Some reviewers are just pretentious serial complainers I think, lol!) Food was quite good, views were Malibu beach--can't go wrong with that! Understood that we were a large group so maybe giving us time to look over everything. Our server continued to be rude the entire time we ate. Drinks took forever to come out, when one of us just politely checked in we were snapped at by the waiter that the bar was busy. Another time when we asked for a refill on our water pitcher we were asked "Do you want it now, or tomorrow?". We waited for the check for a while, and once again one person was snapped at by our waiter. We were a large party and gratuity was already going to be included so guess he didn't care at all about manners and having a nice interaction. Food and setting were great at least!

Everything we ordered was delicious, but the strawberry cheesecake was easily one of the highlights -- so creamy, perfectly balanced, and honestly one of the best desserts I've had. After trying so many items, the flavors started to feel repetitive and underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Even our cocktail was supposed to come with the signature Nobu ice cube, but it didn't. It's a small detail, but at this price point and with Nobu's reputation, you expect the presentation and experience to match what's advertised. You can definitely get a more authentic sushi or Japanese dining experience elsewhere for much less. It honestly feels like you're paying for the Nobu name and the view more than the food. There's also no self-parking option, so you're basically forced to valet for $15, which feels like another unnecessary money grab on top of an already expensive meal. Beautiful view, but overall the food, drinks, and experience didn't justify the price.
