Our hostess made us aware there is a strict 90minute dining policy during lunch hours. The view is absolutely beautiful. Best to come during the day or before sunset. I order the tuna appetizer it was delicious as a beginning to the meal. I ordered the scallops as my entree and have to say it was good but not nearly as flavorful as I expected. The lobster cobb salad was amazing. We also had the salmon on top of an artichoke sauce that was phenomenal as well. We didn't even have a room for dessert. This was my first time there and I am mad at myself for not trying it sooner. The parking lot is small and all vehicles must be valeted. The overall service was outstanding. From the valet, the the hostess, to our server. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and left me with a comfortable feeling. We were sat at a corner table, overlooking the ocean. What a fantastic view we had. We began our meal with a Coconut shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was huge and tasted amazing. We were also served very tasty hot bread rolls. I ordered the Swordfish which was fantastic. A wonderful piece of fish that was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Chilean sea bass which was equally good and came with this very nice sauce. A large selection of cocktails and wine is available. Definitely upscale and dress attire preferred. Makes for a classy evening and a perfect sunset. Valet parking is $12 and takes some time to get your car upon leaving. The service is about as good as it gets. My favorite dish was the pan seared Chilean Sea Bass. My favorite cooked fish. Tender and buttery. The sides were amazing. The scallops were large and delicious. 3 was the perfect number. You can add an extra scallop and use the dish as an appetizer depending on the amount of people. I went medium more rare. Perfect. One star is taken for the tuna tar tar. Not sure why that is still on the menu. Flavor is off and the tuna is grey. (See pic) I will still come back but reminder to self to never order again. My friend used to be a waiter there and had good things to say about this place. It was disappointing because this is a fine dining establishment and we expect better. Here's the full story. Hostess was fantastic as I checked in a little late for our brunch reservation and my date had not yet arrived. Once he did, we were seated promptly because we were lucky to get reservations. Given the hype about the view, I was surprised because we had a hedge blocking our view. I felt bad because my date specifically wanted a view and he drove over 1.5 hours to come to this restaurant and got a subpar view. After we ordered our food and only ordered one alcoholic drink, our waiter was so hot and cold! One minute he was so nice, the next minute he was annoyed and impatient. I enjoyed the food. The crab cakes were delicious and made mostly of crab. My salad was good and not overly dressed. My date's paella was subpar with respect to the rice but the seafood in it was good. Following service, my date ordered coffee and I ordered espresso. However, when my date was served his coffee and I didn't get my espresso, I waited a bit and then realized they might have forgot it. When my date asked the waiter about it, the waiter was so rude! He gave us so much attitude and said that the espresso was coming from the bar. Defensive much!? Then when he came back with the espresso, he was over the top nice about it. Poor guy...he was not having his best day as he probably realized he was a bit reactionary earlier. In any case, we ordered the crisp apple tart which was "okay" as the tart was not crisp but vanilla bean ice cream was good. Valet had my date's car ready to go as soon as we settled the bill. So to sum it up, someone (ahem .. the waiter) was not at his best today and unfortunately, that marred the experience as everyone else seemed good. Also, make sure to ask to be seated in the lower section because I think the view is better there! What a wonderful experience!! We came for a bday celebration and were very pleased! Allen was the greeter at the front and he had such a welcoming persona. I asked what the seating was like on the inside, bar and outside and how long the wait would be for an ocean view table. He said about 45 min, which is completely understandable for a Friday night, but he still wanted to show me what was available and said come with me and let me show u your options. As he was showing us the inside booths, bar and outside tables he noticed a table by their plant area near one of the exit doors that led to the water was dirty. Allen said he'd clean that and seat us there if we liked it and we got sat right away, with no wait! And the view was beautiful!! Within 5 min we were greeted by Will. He knew the menu very well and gave us great suggestions. I got an espresso martini and the eggplant dish and my friend got a Long Island iced tea and the salmon. Everything was delicious! Allen stopped by after our dinner and made sure we had a wonderful time and were satisfied with the food, drinks and service. We were very satisfied! He even chatted with us for a bit before we left. Had a stunning sunset dinner here with my partner and in-laws. The restaurant and coastal view is sublime. The service was very high end, and there was a great selection on the menu too. There were two vegans in our party so in terms of plant-based options, no one went without and they were even able to easily modify a couple of things to cater for them. You come here for the view of the beach which is the main attraction especially if you get a good table with a nice view. I decided to take my wife here for her birthday so I made reservations ahead of time off OpenTable and told them we were celebrating a birthday so I wanted a table with good view of the water. We arrived early and use their valet parking because it's easier than finding street parking. The valet cost is already added to your bill so you don't have to worry about cash except for tip. We arrived early so we took advantage on walking down to the beach first. We checked in like 20 minutes before our reservation time but they were still able to seat us with a great table with good view of the water. Our waiter was Marvin and we thought he was great with us beside not telling me that the soda is not free refill. That was my only complaint with him but I didn't want to dispute so I just paid it but give less in the tip. My wife got the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass for her entree and a Georgia Peach martini for her drink. I got their Herb Crusted Salmon and ask for french fries for my sides. My wife loved her peach martini and of course her Sea Bass. I thought the Salmon was a bit dry and didn't have much favor but Marvin came around asking if I wanted crushed black pepper so I asked for that on the Salmon and fries. It helped a little but not that much to me. We finish off the night with a ice cream dessert where Marvin sang Happy Birthday to my wife. The location, the views, the proximity to the ocean, and the service are 5/5. The food however is 4/5. I don't feel it's a foodie location nor is food the main draw, but it's definitely still worth going to because of the overall experience and location. It hugs the ocean in north Malibu and the views are honestly beautiful. It's very large on the inside and they have many different seating options to choose from. Our server Kennedy did a terrific job and was honestly one of the best parts of the meal. Parking on the street is not possible so valet for $12 will be your option and will be added onto your bill (not including the tip). I started off with the Watermelon Salad and it was pretty good although I felt there was too much arugula and not enough watermelon or feta. For my entree I chose the Pacific Swordfish and it was cooked very well although the sides were a bit bland, with too much arugula on the side again. Finally for dessert we chose the Brioche Bread Pudding and it was also pretty good, but not as moist as I prefer and the caramel sauce on it was honestly not enough. Overall a good experience due to the location but it's not a foodie destination or someplace you'll crave for days after eating it. You can of course ask for salt and pepper, but it feels awkward like maybe they don't want me to season my food in this upscale restaurant. I eventually asked for salt and pepper. To sum it up. I had the lobster, easy to eat because it is out of the shell. The lobster was ok. I wish I would have went with my first choice, the paella. The desserts did not entice us. The wine list is great. The oysters were great, but my favorite was the scallops with risotto (AMAZING). I would say that the Filet Mignon was delicious, but I was hoping it had more flavor to it. But still delicious! Service was great! Our waiter was very charismatic and excited for us to taste the filet mignon. Gave very good recommendations for the food menu. There is valet parking available, but also there is plenty of parking available on the main road (as long as you're okay with walking on the main street). Came here with a group of 8 people with a 5:15 reservation. When you arrive, the only option is to valet. They give you a ticket to hold onto. There's a bar where you can wait for your entire party to arrive before being seated. We were sat right by the stairs that take you to the beach. The views were beautiful, of course. It was a bit chilly but they turn on the heaters for you. My group ordered white a few dishes but here are the dishes that stood out to me. MUSTS to start Baked Brie Oysters (both raw and fried) Crab cakes For my entre, I ordered the NY steak at the recommendation of our server and tbh it was just okay. I requested a swap of the fries for the mashed potatoes but they accidentally gave me the fries - don't recommend the fries at all. For dessert, we ordered them all minus the cheese plate. The best hands down was the bread pudding followed by the cheesecake and butterscotch. Overall, great atmosphere. read more

After years and years of passing this on PCH, we decided to have dinner here to celebrate a birthday. After sharing the crab cake appetizer which was delicious, the birthday girl had the scallops. While only 3, they were large and she commented they were the best she's had. I can attest... I had a taste and they were soft and slid down "like buttah." I had the lobster special which included mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. I particularly liked when the server said "there will be no work" because I'm not a big fan of either de-tailing shrimp, or digging something out of a shell. The presentation was nice as the full lobster shell was included, but the meat just slid right out. It was extremely tasty, but very rich with 2 different types of butter (I paid for it later that night, if you get what I'm trying to say here). The server went on and on about how the bread putting was life changing and we'll be measuring all others against it. It was good, but not any better than some of the better ones we've had. A few other notes: - When we arrived, we were "reminded" that the dining time limit was 2 hours. I get that they don't want people lingering and enjoying the amazing view, but at a high-end restaurant this is just tacky and doesn't set the experience off on a positive note. And, on a Saturday night with a 715p reservation, there were plenty of empty tables when we left. - We were each given a roll when we sat down, but that was it. No, would you like another? Or even a small basket with a few. Just one roll. - I absolutely detest valet parking but here, you really have no choice unless you want to brave trying to park on PCH and navigating your way to the restaurant. On a positive note, they add the $15 (gulp) charge to your bill, so at least you don't have to pay again. And, be careful, when they calculate the suggested tip, they factor the valet charge in. - They add a 4% surcharge for their blah blah blah cost of doing business. Just find a way to add 4% somewhere else and don't nickel and dime me. For me, this is a special occasion place and I could see returning every few years, or when out of town guests come to visit. read more

If you're looking for some good seafood with an ocean view, this is your spot. I am so grateful the host sat us on the corner edge of the patio, so we had the most beautiful view. This ambiance and view is just unmatched. A beautiful sunset dinner spot tucked away. *FOOD* For appetizers, we had the Ahi Tuna Tartar and Crab Cakes. The tuna melted in your mouth - you could tell how fresh the fish was - and it had great accompaniments of avocado and a nice soy sauce. The crab cakes I wasn't as impressed by - they were good, but I would try a different appetizer over them next time. For entrees, I got the Sauteed Day Boat Sea Scallops and my company got the Grilled Pacific Swordfish. The scallops were incredible - not chewy at all, and again I got that fresh, melt in your mouth experience. I was hesitant to order them because scallops can be a big hit or a miss for me - I'm so glad I took the chance to try them! They were on a bed of risotto with a carrot and pea sauce that complemented it all well. Will be craving these until I return! My company enjoyed the swordfish, but wasn't as head over heels as I was with my pick. Go for the scallops! *DRINKS* I have a hard time with cocktails because I never like anything super sweet. I ordered the Malibu Lava Flow and it was delicious. You could tell all of the strawberry in there was not diluted with anything else, so it had a great strawberry punch layered over the coconut base. My company got the New Fashioned Manhattan. He liked it, but it was nothing too special. *SERVICE* We definitely lucked out with where the host sat us. Every seat is a great view, though. Service was good throughout the dinner, but when the dinner crowd started to pick up it did take some time to get our waitress to get our check and run the card.
