Mohammed is a treasure, I feel like I finally found my "person". It had been a year since my last appointment (with Kelsey who was also fantastic!). My long, thick hair and the great layers she gave me we're well overgrown. She was not available and so I made an appointment with Mohammed. He was beyond great. He brought my untamed waist length hair up to speed with beauty, precision and friendliness. I can't recommend him enough and only hope his well due recognition doesn't impeed any further appointments I make with him. I ambitiously decided to work out after the appointment and after several miles of cardio under my belt and November wind blown it still looked amazing brushed out. He gets "it", whatever that may be. I feel like a new person and surprised even myself how much I want my still long but sculpted cut to keep it down instead of my go-to up styles. Sarah is awesome - I followed her over from her previous salon because she does such a great job. Every time I have an appointment with her, she does exactly what I ask for, which I really appreciate. I am blonde and do full highlights plus lowlights every time, and I'm quite picky about the way they are done... But Sarah always takes extra time with me to do very fine highlights. She is also always looking for ways that she can save and protect my hair from damage. I used to get my hair highlighted every six weeks before I started going to Sarah, but she does a better job of making the highlights look natural (while still blonde) so the grow-out is much better and I don't have to come in as often. I am always complimented on my hair and would recommend Sarah to anyone, blonde or brunette!! read more

Salon is beautiful! Very relaxing space. I came here for a haircut with mo! I can't even begin to say how amazing he is!!! I followed him here after he left his other place. If you need or want any coloring done, Amanda Caplan is the best! She is a true artist/magician with coloring. I've been going to her for a while and she is the best in the business. She covers my grays while also keeping me looking my natural best with chocolate brunette coloring and occasionally some caramel highlights. Amanda is thorough and consistent. Finally found a Chicago salon I like! Two of the stylists donated their services for a charity event which is how I ended up going and am happy I did! I went in for the donated highlight service and my stylist Sara ended up also giving me a single process, toner, gloss and a blow dry style in addition. My hair is the perfect blonde now! I have been seeing Maude for a couple years now and it's about time I give a review. Let me first start off by saying that she is an amazing stylist and colorist!! She will never cut off more hair then you tell her to which is a huge deal( am I right ladies?) Second, if you show her a picture of the kind of color you want she will let you know if it's realistic, and if it is she will inform you that it may take a couple steps to achieve. That's my experience with her. I wanted to go darker then I got bored and wanted to go lighter. Now that summer is approaching I want to go really light! I love George the Salon so much! I go to Emily for my color, and she is indeed the blonde whisperer! She saved my over bleached, over processed hair a year and a half ago and transformed it with balayage and a beautiful blonde ombre. My hair is 100% healthier now and I love the color. Emily always knows exactly what to do to keep it looking fresh and healthy. My color is amazing. I also see Lauren for my haircuts and she is equally amazing. George The Salon is the best! Everyone there is so helpful and so nice but most importantly I LOVE Julianne for cut and Sarah for color. I have always been hesitant about coloring my hair and Sarah put me at such ease and I couldn't be happier with the outcome each time. Added bonus that she's super fun to talk with so having to sit in the chair for 45-60 minutes is never a bore. I have been going to Julianne for about 4-5 years now and she just knows how to style, cut, blowdry my hair in any way I ask and will give her opinion on what she thinks looks best. I've gotten my hair cut twice with Mo at this salon and both times my hair came out awesome! I moved to Chicago three years ago and had a hard time finding someone to cut my hair without leaving me super disappointed and unhappy. I like my hair very long but with lots of bounce and layers. I've been very happy with my cuts with Mo and consider him my official stylist in Chicago now. I also am not always able to get my hair cut often, but I got my haircut with Mo in March and my hair still looks great. He's also a very nice guy! read more

Great salon! I definitely recommend Arlette for hair color. She is a genius at balayage, and she gives my hair that perfect sun-kissed glow that I crave during summer months! For hair cut, go with Julianne. I am super picky with my hair cut and she always listens to what I want and then delivers! I had my hair cut by Julianne twice the first was good considering she had cut after I had a bad prior cut to deal with. The 2nd time she cut me was horrible. She layered my hair too heavily and it looked terrible. There were short layers on top then a heavy line on the bottom that wasn't connected, so my hair flipped out awkwardly. So, I went in to ask her to fix it and she kept defending her skills, cut a few more layers, making it worse and blew dry my hair without wetting or washing it and ironed it out to make it look better. George was there nearby and didn't seem to care at all. He isn't really an owner personality and seems very introverted. I will never return. read more

I have been going to Maud for many years. She is the absolute best at cut and color - I never go in there with a specific idea but just trust her and it ends up amazing. She is so creative and the looks are so tasteful, natural but interesting - perfect combo. Plus, I love her as a person! I'm thrilled that she's now at George The Salon. This is such a beautiful salon with a great team. Like many others that have reviewed, I'm a big, big fan of Julianne. She's amazing & can do a blowout like nobody's business. I also have to rave about Natalie, who does my color. When I moved (back) to the area, my hair was brassy & the color had no depth. I went in & said I didn't want it brown, or blond, or red - I wanted a multi-tonal, natural color. Somehow Natalie understood my nonsense description & my color is pure genius. I've had so many people tell me they didn't even realize I color my hair - that's how great it looks! As if their pure talent isn't enough, both these ladies are darling to spend a few hours with. George is passionate and confident yet humble. I've always been extremely pleased with my haircuts (have long, naturally curly hair) and so has my friend (medium length, straight hair) who still flies in from out of state to see George. George provides a consultation before cutting and I am always pleased with his suggestions. The shampoo before cuts are the best massages ever. I've had an up do at this salon and I've never received so many compliments. Had the opportunity to have Mohammed straighten my hair. No offense to George because he is amazing but Mohammed is my new go-to at this salon for straightening. Not only was it perfect, it lasted four days. I will try Mohammed for other services soon too. It's great to be able to rely on two people from one salon especially because I'm notorious for not booking ahead.
