This is one of my favorite restaurants. The environment is very comfortable and spacious. The waiters are usually very helpful. The food is pretty good. The breakfast specials are great. I have eaten here several times and a few things seem to be consistent. The staff is friendly and a few things on the menu are over priced. For example, the chocolate chip pancakes are over $12. Service there is okay but some staffers there are still not apparently used to people of various cultures who may choose to dine there. I went in there with my husband and toddler . Upon arrival , the greeter asked if we needed a high chair . My husband responded "yes" but quickly asked if we could have a booth . If so, we wouldn't need the high chair . The greeter while holding the high chair rolled his eyes and seemed disgruntled by the request. Finally seated, we ordered coffee and orange juice for starters since we thought it was still breakfast hours. The beverages arrived while we were still perusing the menu. Just noticed that they were serving lunch menu, I motioned the waiter over to see if I can order, but was promptly told lunch items only came with a soft drink, not coffee or orange juice. I kindly asked him to take it back since we did not drink it yet. He said he cannot since we already ordered it. This incident really left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs over the phone. When I got there about 10 minutes later they were polite and double checked on the order. I waited about 5-10 more minutes. The spaghetti was everything I wanted that day!! The pasta was al dente, sauce had no black pepper (although I think the meatballs did). I liked the food and service. I'll come back. Was meeting a friend for early lunch and was looking forward to going to this new location. The service was good the meal was fair. I ordered a pastrami sandwich on a roll and there was very little meat all bread. We paid our bill and lingered talking awhile. There was a man I guess the manager who came to our table requesting we go! He said we need this table, I looked around and the restaurant was less than 25% full. We were surrounded by empty tables. Georgia Diner used to be one of my favorite place to have breakfast since 2008, till I found Good Eats by Grand Avenue and 69 street! Today I decided to give it a try at their new location unfortunately I did not have a good experience at all and will not be coming back.. one of my biggest complain was that the waiter was not attentive with out table.. I asked him for hot sauce and I never received it, my husband then decided to get it from the table next to us. I would say we spend about 30 minutes there and the waiter only came twice one to take out order and second to give us our check. To top it off he included the tip, i never experienced that at the old location and we were a party of 5 with one child. I think he did that because I kept saying what customer service is this? This waiter just kept on filling our table with the things we werent even asking him for in the middle of our conversation, like he would ask to pass the sugar tray to replace with a filled one he just did, then afterwards he took the ketchup bottle and replaced it with a filled one right in the muddle of the goddam table. The menu is like a novel, full of options and depths best left unexamined. Stick to the standards kids. The steak fries are good and satisfying. I don't know how this place is always packed to the gills. One possible explaination is that it's one of the only places in the area where the geriatric set can mingle. The menu is enormous. I was very hungry, so I ordered a burger and fries. Kind of a rarity for me. I was looking forward to it. But, just when I thought ordering a burger was the safe bet... I've been coming here since HS with the same group of friends, can you believe it? I remember before it was renovated and I remember when you could smoke in the "smoking section." I've got to say, this place is a classic and besides new tables and lighting, it hasn't changed much. For late nights, coffee and deciding what to do next, and for breakfast at 2 PM after you've just woke up after going out. I love the fact they serve breakfast all day, that's what diners are for! The brown menu's are thick and filled with choices from assorted sandwiches, breakfast items, and pastas. Service is always good and food is always good. Of course my favorite are the breakfast items, the Challah french toast, dollar sized pancakes. My only gripe is that the hostess that seats you is always changing. They seem pretty happy about their decision as my whore mother wanted to move on with her life selling cocaine and my father was anxious to leave the country. The food was horrible ridiculously overpriced for the quality of it. Ordered a hamburger and philly cheese steak with meat barely cooked pepper slimy as hell and unedible. I used to go here with my family twenty years ago, and I'm pretty sure the only thing that's changed is that they refreshed the decor once. We both got breakfast food at 10 PM. When you're starving, any food is usually great. Mine was not. After looking over the menu, I decided to order a bacon cheeseburger and my partner ordered a grilled cheese with fries and cheese. My bacon cheeseburger was so greasy, the bun was soaked. The only thing that was good about it was the bacon. The quality of the meat was poor, coleslaw was way too sweet, and the fries were completely unseasoned. These are the main things people go to diners for and we left completely disappointed. I found the decoration to be fun, but the waiters were dressed up and standing in the front at a podium like a five-star restaurant. The menu was somewhat confusing and the pricing definitely was higher than it should have been for this quality of food. I will never return to this establishment again. Solid old school diner. Huge menu with many options. As a vegetarian, I'd love them to start offering more vegetarian and vegan items. In this day and age, this is not hard to do. A good start would be getting the Impossible or Beyond burger. ...and if they get it, they should publicize it. People would come a good way just to get an Impossible Burger Deluxe in a diner environment. While better than nothing, the current veggie burger offered is not that great.
