Delicious, great food, great service, great atmosphere, zero complaints. We were sat quickly, will return

First time I came here after they moved to their new location, I had a negative experience with their wait staff and owner. The lack of attention was infuriating, especially when they were known for great food and great service. That was in 2025... In 2026, let's see what's changed. Decided to invite my mom and sister out for lunch as I was craving a burger. Let's get this out of the way. The food was really good and tasty...pun intended. The waiter started off with taking our order and I thought to myself; oh wow they've actually stepped up their customer service. Much like my San Francisco Giants....that glimmer of hope in the beginning is always met with disappointment 10 minutes later. The waiter decided to pull a Houdini and disappear. He never approached us to ask if we were ok or needed more coffee or anything. The other waiters didn't seem too attentive to the other tables either. It wasn't overly crowded but I decided to give the guy a break. 30 mins later....nothing...no one was around. My mom said she saw the later walk out and then he came back in a few mins later and not once approached us. Finally after losing my patience I ask out loud where is the waiter??? Another waiter comes scrambling and asks what's wrong and I stated we were left alone for almost 40 mins. I needed the check and expressed my disgust; that this was the second time my family and me were treated like this. The manager had the nerve to come and say he didn't charge us for two cups of coffee. I wasn't expecting anything comped but if you're going to make that gesture then do something better. He apologized and honestly, I wasn't having it. The old Tasty's was amazing. Their old staff was perfect and it's sad to see this former Astoria staple has fallen. Prices skyrocketed and service plummeted. Won't ever comeback. read more

Om G!!!! This place truly lives up to the name. I work up one hazy mornings afternoon. With an aching hunger. In my stomacho. Yo tengo hombre fo reel. My mother was in town from out of town area, I wake up late and she doesn't. She wakes up really really early. She always has she's and early riser. She's worked in health care for the last 25 years and was an early riser prior anyway. Yo anyway this place was lit. But also so mom was in town and she wanted like hella options. She also kept wanting a gyro the whole time she was is in N Y C. But also on this particular day she didn't wanna hit the legit type beat gyro spot she wanted some else maybe, OPTIONS. So I was planning on taking my mother - and my special friend as well. To "Tina's diner Bushwick New York" but guess what. We got our WAY TOO late. And even tho Tina's was taken over by the dudes who ran ya yas (also low key/high key a solid ass gyro spot) they have added tacos to the menu but kept those same old school azz hours after Tina's retired and moved to Florida (she's deserved it, what a lady) (also remember the rumors?????) anyways... um where was I. Yeah we were trying to go to Tina's which is an institution as many know and it's also closer to my home (in Bushwick near the Jefferson and or Morgan stop) but you know they kept those old school hour 6am to 3pm so we missed them. SO I decided to take my mother and this particular special lady to tastys instead. Tastys I know, arguably (actually probably not arguabley) but better food than Tina's but you know Tina's got the vibes. That old wood paneling and 10 11 dollar whatever basic meat you know wha I mean? I always get the basic meat plus like 4 drinks, milk, large OJ, coffee black (just like my metal) and soda water, and regular water I need the whole pitcher. Anyways we were not at Tina's diner on this particular day we rocked with the tastys. Which is a little further from me but also has more selection, quality ingredients, and old school vibes. Black and white tile flooring, red fancy chairs, you know like tha scene from pulp fiction before emu Thurman ODs or whatever? You know what I'm talking about but the lights are all on and there's a bunch of windows and it's day time and it's beautiful! They have nice plants in there. Anyways, I got a turkey club - it's was PROPER, my special friend got a chicken Caesar salad club (minus the chicken cuz she's vegetarian/ but I asked her to get the chicken on the side / why lose food and waste money you know? I'll eat the chicken you know wha I'm saying? ) and my mother- she went with the gyro after all (reg gyro comes with parchment gyro pretty tasty but hella veggies) my turkey club was PROPER. I also got a delicious VANILLA milk shake COM AT ME. anyways 5 stars will be back . ALSO the beautiful server man gifted us a FREE piece of cake. He said meals come with free desert (idk if that's true but the cake was definitely at least. Day old )) it was supposed to be a tiramisu but I'm not so sure. So good I give it Yummerz out of 100. The first few times were great. However, the last 3 times, a specific female waitress who is not welcoming because we are not of her race. She rudely dropped off the butter and syrup for our meal. She treats other customers differently. A mother and her two daughters walked in and she welcomed them and was very friendly towards them because they looked like her. Service is subpar and we will not returning. We will take our business elsewhere, and I feel this place is overrated; there are lots of other places to choose from. I DO NOT recommend this diner. Quite possibly one of the worst Diners I have ever eaten at along with the Bel-Aire which is equally as bad. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries,, my wife had pancakes. We both had coffee. The eggs were overcooked, home fries were cold, the pancakes were chewy, the coffee tasted burnt. We waited for a long time to get our order taken even though the place wasn't busy. I was not asked if I wanted toast and was not given toast. We did not get refills on our coffee's ( that's okay because we hated the coffee ) we waited for our check ( too long - as 2 Greek people talked forever and ignored everything else ) to be horrified at the cost when it came. I ordered my meal thru Grub Hub and the food was terrible. I order mozzarella sticks and all I tasted was old grease. French fries weren't all that good either. My husband that can devour food couldn't finish his food because it tasted bad. So disappointed especially since the meal was costly and not because of Grub Hub because Grub Hub fees were waved. Got together with my young cousins for Brunch on a winter Sunday. We were promptly seated at a booth and large coffee cups came to greet us. Good strong coffee, the way I like it. We order Pancakes & Wafflr a sides of home fries, Western Omelette with Potatoes and toast. Two generous portions of home fries came (one would be enough to share) We liked our food because we devoured the food. The kept replenishing the water glasses and coffee cups. Service was attentive. New location doesn't mean better quality. I've had some hits and misses here. Hits that kept me coming and misses I was able to overlook to continue coming back. Ordered in today and was pretty disappointed. Got a Philly Cheesesteak wrap. It was swimming in grease. Don't get me wrong. I know what I'm in for ordering a Philly cheesesteak. I know it's not exactly a healthy item but my wrap legitimately felt like it was a side order to the grease. I couldn't eat much of it. Pickle and coleslaw was to be the saving grace. Unfortunately, the coleslaw tasted eggy/Sulphur like. Couldn't even swallow it. So disappointed. read more

We ordered the Philly cheesesteak + two eggs & bacon and it slapped. The potatoes were a little dry though. Also, the service was suspect - we went during the slow down hours meaning it wasn't busy at all. Maybe like 3-5 (including us) people were in there, yet the service was slow. Plus they forgot an order I placed and charged me for it but they corrected it with no problem. Overall this wasn't a good experience, especially since it was slow. I LOVE diners and was excited once this opened but now I'm disappointed. They also didn't have soap in either of their bathrooms, I had to open the sink cabinet and thankfully found one and it just makes me question , what is going on here ??? They have just relocated to 35-12 Ditmars Blvd after Thirsty Kiola closed. I went there twice last month. The first time was a great success: fresh, delicious salad with chicken, but our second time for breakfast was a disaster. After waiting in line for nearly 15 minutes, we had to wait even longer to get served our breakfast brunch, which involved eggs, bacon, toast, etc. When the food arrived on the table, it was far from fresh; there had been a kitchen malfunction.. to the owner's credit when we explained what happened, we did not have to pay. The new Tasty Diner has more space than the old Thirsty Kiola. Its layout is that of a comfy restaurant, not a gastropub with rickety seating. I think the crew they hired was just overwhelmed, and I am prepared to give them another chance. Their grade should have been 4 stars. read more

I was in the mood for a burger so I decided to give this spot a try. I ordered a California burger which came with cheddar cheese and avocado. I also ordered a side of onion rings, they were crunchy and delicious. The burger patty was seasoned perfectly and was good quality meat. The reason for the 3 star review is due to the fact that my son couldn't even step into their bathroom to wash his hands because it was that filthy. The other reason is due to the service. I had to get up several times to the counter to ask for utensils, for napkins and for honestly anything else we needed. I know there was only one waitress but service is very important for me. read more

My boyfriend and I were standing by the front waiting for a table to open up for 10 minutes. When a table opened, the waiter gestured to the couple behind us to sit down when we had clearly been there first, waiting ahead of them. Terrible. Thought I'd give it another try since they moved. Ordered a sampler platter that should have wings, tenders and mozz sticks. Only came with wings that seemed like what you buy in the frozen section at the grocery store. No tenders and two mozz sticks that had all the cheese melted out into the container. Also got "loaded" potato skins that were just hash brown with some cheese. Never again!! read more

3 stars sounds right to me. Tasty's is typical diner food. Last time I was here, I got a Cobb salad ($19) which was huge! And with plenty of bacon, avocado, and chicken. But surprisingly devoid of hardboiled eggs.  The service is horribly slow. Don't go when you're in a rush. The servers are nice and friendly but being attentive and efficient they're not.  And disregard the sign since Tasty's Diner is not open 24 hours. I think they close around 11 PM, so don't plan to swing by at 3 in the morning or anything. read more

Tasty's is exactly what you'd expect from diner food. Stick to the basics and you'll be good. I had the western omelette with cheese, which came with home fries and toast. It was a huge portion and was very good. I also tried the mozzarella sticks and was actually surprised that they weren't your typical pre-frozen ones. read more

Asked for contactless delivery because I'm Disabled. They didn't leave the food but took off with it. Wouldn't redeliver for an extra fee even and kept the money. Said I had to pick up the food... I'm disabled! Been ordering from here for years. Never will again. They stole $66 worth of food and tip. They don't seem to care about the customer. Listen to the reviews. Go elsewhere. There are too many fabulous spots in the city that would love to have you and will foster your return to their establishment. read more

I come here every now and then. Just your average diner. Food is ok depending on what you order. I would suggest just sticking to the basics and get a simple dish. I got the bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and it was yummy but wish it had more egg. Service is attentive and friendly. The space has enough seating for groups of at least 5. Traditional diner fare. Nothing bad to say about this place except it's not open 24 hours. A small diner which was packed with customers. With Mike's Diner shuttered due to it's lease expiring this is the place to go around Ditmars. I heard the IHOP nearby is horrible concerning their food, service and prices. The meal I had here consisted of 2 sunnyside eggs, 2 sausages, hash browns and toast. It was a good meal. I'd stick with breakfast off the menu items at Tasty's cause you can always get a burger or gyro from the numerous places that specialize in them on the Boulevard. This is the perfect place to go in Astoria to get food late night. It is open 24 hours and their food is pretty good. It is definitely not the highest quality food but when you're drunk and its 3AM, everything taste like a 5 star restaurant's food. Every time I have gone, the diner has had at least 2 other customers in there. The place isn't big but it's not tiny either. You can bring big groups in here and get pretty rowdy. The aesthetic of the restaurant is cozy. Not your typical diner but it does feel very homey. The food itself is very standard. The burgers are reasonably priced and very big with a generous portion of fries. I really like the breakfast platters as well. Service here is fantastic. They refill on your water fairly quickly and are quick to get out your food as well. They are always very friendly and welcoming, even if you're a rowdy drunk group. Always my go to place if I am out late in Astoria or want to get a cheap filling meal. Would totally recommend anyone in the area. read more

Diner's aren't generally meant to have the best food and this place is no exception. I think they have a great staff, good seating, but just not the tastiest food (no pun intended). I ordered the spinach pie, veggie quesadilla, jalapeno poppers, eggplant parm sandwich with onion rings, and mac and cheese balls. To sum it up, everything just tasted heavy and overly greasy. I'm well aware I got a bunch of fried food so I should expect a little bit of grease but this was too much. I think Mike's Diner nearby serves similar food but just tastes a bit lighter. The spinach pie was my favorite but it was super salty. I liked the crust. The veggie quesadilla was my least favorite because they added extra veggies that wasn't on the menu and it tasted super watery. Not crispy or cheesy. The eggplant in the eggplant parm was probably on its last legs before I ate it. The onion rings were the frozen kind (was kinda hoping for legit rings). So we venture out to dinner the other night for dinner and the place I wanted to go completely pack table too close and with only one table table open right in the middle of people and one near the door, I decide to skip it and we decided to eat at Tasty's Diner. I have friends that go here all the time and have been told the food is good. The service was excellent a really nice lady on Thursday night, the portions were big and the menu huge. It's open 24 hours so breakfast, lunch and dinner. The booths are so comfortable and everything super clean and bright. Everything coming out of the Kitchen looked great at 8pm. I when for greek food my friend for a panini it was plenty of food and great fries too. This is our family diner. Not that we own it, but that our family frequents it so much the staff knows them all by name and knows their favorite orders. Every time I come back home to visit, we come here for brunch. Electra is fantastic and takes such great care of my dad and grandpa. The food is great comfort food and love they are open 24hours. This is the biggest thing I miss in Utah...traditional old school diners open all day so you can stop in and get greasy spoon food at any hour!! This visit I went for lunch items of breakfast. I got the vegetarian panini with salad. Bread was so nice and crisp and grilled perfectly. There was just enough oil and seasonings on the veggies and they were all roasted well and packed with flavor. My cousin ordered a chicken panini with sweet potato fries and my dad ordered the pork chops. The sweet potato fries were scrumptious and my dad loved the pork chops (ate down to the bone). Mashed potatoes were thick and creamy and the broccoli was steamed just right! Will continue to come here every time I visit, and you can bet you will always see someone in my family here all the time!! read more

I been to tasty's several time prior to this visit but this time was awful. the service was subpar and the server we had paid no mind to us for the majority time of our visit. On top of that the food was not so good I had the meatloaf with mushroom gravy and it was unpleasant and had a horrible taste to it after one bite I looked at my girlfriend and was done with my meal. The sides that came with it the mash potatoes and the corn had a weird watered down taste to it that just wasn't enjoyable. The only thing we got that was somewhat good was the appetizer platter but the mozzarella sticks on it were cold in some parts of the sticks. The owner treated me and my 2 children horribly! Will never go there again! They are extremely nasty to customers and they especially hate children! I went there with my 2 children to have breakfast and while we were waiting for our meal, my son was playing with his toy cars and not silent -which is typical for a 3 year old. A little while after we ordered the owner's mother who also works there came over and rudely told us that my son caused customers to leave- Without further escalating things I told her ok we are going to leave-which in reality I wasn't even obligated to even do. Instead of leaving it at that both mother and daughter owners began insulting me on the way out with very nasty comments in front of my children. She said I shouldn't bring my children out to restaurants if I do not know how to parent them and I should not have children if l do not know how to raise them and that people like me should not have children. She called us "villagers" and other nasty remarks and this continued as we exited the diner. Even as we had exited and were standing outside in front of the diner her daughter opened the door and yelled at us "GET OFF MY SIDEWALK OF I'LL CALL THE POLICE!!" Can you imagine? Who in their right mind threatens to call the police on a mother with a 2 year old and 3 year old all because my 3 year old son was "being noisy"? These people are psychos! I do not want anyone else's children to feel this way from these horrible restaurant owners who are so mean especially to children! They should not be running a business when they hate people and treat them so badly! It broke my heart to see my children kicked out of the restaurant and be treated this way! We have taken my children to many restaurants and high end restaurants and have never been spoken to so nasty in all our lives! Besides the rudeness, the diner was super filthy. This is the best diner in Queens. I've never felt more at home. For some reason ever egg tastes like the best egg I've ever had.

To be honest the food is quite overpriced for diner fare and the service is a bit poor, as you really need to wave down through service staff to get their attention even if it seems to be a slow shift. I have also gotten my order serviced incorrectly before. A shame, because it could really be one of the neighborhood's go-to-spots for a late-night diner. read more

This place has really great food! Came here once with a friend for lunch and today for dinner with the family. The waiter that waited on me and my friend was very personable and got everything right. Love the inside decor with comfy booths and warm colors. They have two TV's going. Like the name Tasty's and the teddy bear on the front of the menu. Very marketable and memorable in my opinion. They have lots on their menu so you will need a few minutes. Had the grape leaves again today. They are pretty good. My husband had the grilled chicken salad which was really fresh and yummy. It had avocado slices in it with small pieces of mozzarella and roasted peppers. I also ordered an egg salad sandwich which I stated I wanted toasted twice! Well it came out not toasted. Didn't like that part. They have nice heavy colorful plates that the food is served in. We had blue and orange plates. Will definitely come here again if I am in the area. I've lived in Astoria for 18 years and regrettably tried Tasty's for the first time today. 21 minutes after placing my order over the phone, the delivery person called me from downstairs. It was so fast, I was honestly startled. The food was hot, the portions large, and everything looked and tasted delicious. I ordered the Chunky Monkey Pancakes with a hot cappuccino and my husband ordered the Tropical Belgian Waffle with a frappe. Everything exceeded our expectations. My partner is a hard-to-please waffle snob, and even he was super happy with his order! This was just as shocking as the fast delivery time. We highly recommend Tasty's. read more
