Stopped on our way from NY to Boston for a quick bite. People were very nice, service was great. Their homemade english muffins are delicious. Food was tasty, but fries were a little too greasy for me.

Hands down the best breakfast spot in CT. Service is excellent. Ambiance is quaint and welcoming. It the star of the show is the food. Take my word for it; they make a great breakfast.

Still the best breakfast in West Haven! It's my Saturday morning treat! The grits are outstanding!

Visiting CT once again we always pass by this diner. Sometimes opened sometimes not. Happened to be open as we were passing so we said let's pop in. As we entered was greeted and showed to our seats. Classic diner interior with the booth seats. Love them. We decided on the taco as the appetizer. It was delicious. I am going to make that my meal if I ever go back. I also ordered a vanilla milk shake and fries which was good in my opinion.

This place is so cute and retro. I got a Western omelette. So rare to have fresh red peppers added instead of all green. For me it makes all the difference in 4 vs 5 stars. Plus homemade bread, good home fries and great coffee. YUM. Mackenzie is my server. Beautiful smile, great service. Can't believe it's my first time here. It won't be my last.

Cute booths!

Love it! First impression, this place is adorable and immaculate. The staff is friendly and attentive, the menu has a lot to offer. My eggs Benedict were fabulous! Home fries were delicious too. Looking forward to visiting again!

Good stuff. This place may look like a typical New England Greek Diner but don't let looks fool you. Hot chocolate made with milk and fresh whipped cream, all natural foods, lots of gluten free offerings and just delicious food is what they do. While the desserts were gluten free and I was too full to order after lunch, their baked goods are baked in house. You can order breakfast or a tenderloin dinner- it was a great experience.

I literally drove 40 minutes when I found out this restaurant had VEGAN French toast. Not many places have exciting vegan options. French toast? Forget about it. As a Los Angeles native, I am so used to a city having vegan options. I didn't know what to expect. When I tried the French toast, it was THE ABSOLUTE BEST FRENCH TOAST I've ever had. I'm so glad this place isn't close to me because I would have it again and again. The coffee was great cafe coffee. Service was amazing and he was super sweet. The tofu scramble was underwhelming. I won't order again. It gives 1960s cafe energy and they have parking on site.

First time visiting Georgie's. It was a Sunday morning. The hostess and waitress were kind and welcoming. They are efficient in cleaning tables and getting folks in. For drinks we had the fresh orange juice and coffees. We ordered buckwheat pancakes, hand cut fries, Georgie's omelette with home fries, and a veggie omelette with fresh fruit. The juice was delicious, and the coffee was good. Omelettes were great as well. The buckwheat pancakes were also good, tad more greasy than I think necessary but it's nice that there is a vegan pancake option. Similarly with the fries, you bit into it and just tasted oil, as of the oil was not hot or they were sitting in the oil too long, the fruit was not fresh with some of the fruit brown in appearance. Overall good quick bite, but I don't think it's somewhere I will be a regular.

Great French toast and friendly service. Fast seating and lots of parking. Will be back!

I used to hear about Georgie's often pre pandemic. It's just that I never got a chance to try the place until last week. There aren't many places with vegan options near WH/Orange/Milford, probably this is the only place with a big vegan menu and hence I decided to do a take out order while I was in the area. My family and I ordered a bunch of items from here and sadly everything was average at the best. The vegan wrap I got had mostly boiled potatoes. Rest or the items were greasy. I couldn't take many pictures. On the plus side, the service was best, literally every employee there was extremely friendly and welcoming (a rarity these days!)

They said we were crazy traveling nearly 2hrs from home to West Haven/New Haven CT but the joke is on them-they are the ones missing out on perfection! My foodie buddy and I search for adventures and culinary delights and Georgie's was her find! What a find! Our love of Drive-ins, Diners, and Dives brought us here (diner). So glad it did! The pastrami sandwich on homemade brioche bun was tender, not fatty, melt in your mouth perfection. Super flavorful! The goat cheese, sausage, spinach omelet (Tuscan) was rich, creamy, deliciously spiced but the highlight was the creamy whipped goat cheese within. Worthy of a culinary eye roll. My favorite dish here. Home fries are typically hey they are cooked potato chunks but here the fresh potato flavor comes through and the chef knows exactly how to serve them (not mushy not too Al dente). Excellent! The Carmel apple French toast on homemade bread truly melted into your mouth. The softness of the bread along with the crisp tart apple pieces and the sweetness of the fresh whip cream and Carmel sauce was a superb bite. Seriously even the coffee here was excellent and the fact that they have nondairy creamers! This lactose intolerant foodie thanks you! A two hour drive for culinary perfection is well worth it and we will return.

I decided to go with a small meat lovers vegan pizza (since I typically order traditional pizza with veggies from other places), and I threw in an order of buffalo "wings". I was prepared to pay a little more because unfortunately vegan food is generally more expensive than standard items. The brand of pepperoni they use is pretty good along with the sausage. The "meatballs" had a nice texture. If you're used to vegan cheese, you'll know there isn't a cheese pull and the texture isn't typical of what you may be used to, but it did melt down pretty nicely. The wings were good. Pricey, but they are the size of tenders. I replaced blue cheese with ranch. I'm not vegan, I'm plant based or vegetarian so I don't know if the ranch was vegan, but it's good. It came with some celery and the buffalo sauce has a good kick. Fortunately I love spicy food. They have a lot of offerings. When it comes to vegan options in this area, there are a lot of Asian and Indian options but it's nice to have other options as well. And I may try a salad and a sandwich the next time, but I will definitely be back. The gentleman at the counter was very personable, It's a small establishment, but they do have limited seating.

The large combo platter comprises your choice of seven dishes, the medium platter is five choices, and the small is three. The five items depicted in my photo of my medium-size plate are, clockwise from the top, grilled tofu, steamed broccoli, baked sweet potatoes, sautéed green beans with red peppers, and curried potatoes. The above descriptions double as the simple names of the dishes. The food does not masquerade behind pretentious titles, nor does it appear flamboyant or pretend to be fanciful. What you're served are affordable and generous portions of delicious and nutritious food. Real food. Americans call this natural food. In the Rasta lexicon, natural foods are redefined as Ital foods. As you might adduce from the photo, the café's two owners are Rastas, and their cuisine is authentic Jamaican Rastafari Ital. "Ital" is derived from the word "vital." To provide "vitality," Ital food on your plate differs little from how it looks on the farm. Ital food is usually vegan, but not always. Only four of the five Rasta cafés in Connecticut and nearby Worcester are strictly vegan. As there is no Board of Ital Cuisine to issue certifications, Ital cooking does vary with the territory. The Ital food served at Caribbean Style Vegan is, as its name attests, always vegan. It also is always nourishing, colorful, and skillfully prepared. Nothing is ever too spicy or too salty or too sweet or too oily or overcooked or undercooked. Grilled in a spicy barbecue sauce, even the jerk tofu is humanely spiced. With just the medium platters, I always feel satiated but never bloated, evidence of the frugal use or total absence of oil. Never drowned in oily sauces, the veggies remain visually recognizable and inherently flavorful. Caribbean Style Vegan stands as my favorite of the seven Ital cafés in which I have dined both stateside and in Jamaica. At the two Ital cafés that I visited in Kingston, neither served any mock meats. Yet at some cafés in the U.S., their varieties of mock meats almost equal their numbers of veggie dishes. I am mystified that in our corner of New England they serve so many highly processed mock meats, a concession to the American lust for meat. In contrast, Caribbean Style Vegan upholds a higher standard. It serves only a single mock meat. Grains, beans, greens, and root vegetables predominate. Most veggies are steamed; a few are sautéed; none are deep-fried. My kind of food. For in-house dining, you'll find two sunlit tables along the south-facing wall of plate glass window. Still, the café is more conducive for takeout. I have witnessed a steady flow of regular customers who sometimes place multiple orders of takeout meals to deliver to their families waiting at home. Yet even when other customers wait in line with you, the wait is always short. Their social media accounts is seldom updated. So view only their website. Yet, the website menu is viewable only during open hours. To place an online order or simply to view the website menu, you must wait until 12 noon, Wednesday to Saturday.

In my heart of hearts, I want to gatekeep Soulfully Vegan, but I know it would be a disservice to…read morethe world if I did that. I visited the Soulfully Vegan's stand at the Big E last night, and let me tell you, it was an experience that changed my life! We had the chance to meet Alison, one of the co-owners of this amazing truck. She was super friendly and had this warm energy about her. She answered all our questions, and I really appreciated that. Now, I usually don't eat anything when I go to the Big E because everything there is deep-fried and heavy. But this truck totally changed my mind. I was curious about the big dog, which is a vegan hotdog with vegan cheese, vegan bacon, and jalapeños. I was surprised to learn that all the meats and cheeses were vegan. (I know that probably sounds silly considering it's a vegan truck, but that's is such a rare find in Massachusetts.) I'm not a vegan, but I do enjoy vegan products. I don't eat pork or beef products, so I can't usually eat hotdogs when I go to Fenway or any other event. But the big dog exceeded my expectations! Every bite was a chef's kiss. The hotdog tasted authentic, with a perfect balance of saltiness. The crispy bacon, evenly spread cheese, and the perfectly warmed bun all complemented each other, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. Alison was so sweet that she even offered us a strawberry milkshake. The strawberry milkshake was hands down the best milkshake I've ever had. The consistency was ideal for a milkshake. It was the ideal level of sweetness and the little chunks of strawberry sent me over the edge. I thought I was going to die and go to heaven. I cannot say enough good things about their food and customer service. If you plan to go to the Big E or venture to central Connecticut, then you have to stop by and check them out. I hope this business continues to thrive! I can't wait for you to open a truck or spot in Boston. I'm sending you all of my good vibes and manifesting it for both of us!
