Ossobuco
Jeffrey R.

Can't believe it was my first visit after 30 years in business. Small and intimate with great service. A family owned business that takes great care with the details. They have numerous dinner entree specials in limited quantity as well as a regular dinner menu to choose from. Bread is served with butter and a delicious pate. We had the NY Strip and the Ossobuco. They steak was cooked perfectly; so tender and flavorful. The Ossobuco was out of this world amazing; tender, delicious and yet somehow light served with the most delicious vegetable medley. This place is a step back in time when service and care was top priority. Treat yourself; I'd recommend reservations as it's quite intimate the place fills up quickly.

If you know me, then you know I'm an avid food-aholic and I try and give props to places that are just amazing! Tonight's date night dinner was at Georgios which, if you're not familiar with the city, is a hidden gem. A family owned and run restaurant with a long running history, this place hit all the feels. Great classy intimate atmosphere without feeling stiff or stuffy, phenomenal food selection and preparation thanks to their talented chef and kitchen staff, and the service is above and beyond. Did I mention the valet parking as well? I mean... seriously! All the qualities of fine dining with a reputable reputation without high city prices. Don't get me wrong, don't expect to pay $20 for a plate! But be aware that you're getting a quality sumptuous dinner that's worth the price tag associated with it. I had the specialty trout topped with lump crab and he had the grass fed veal chop. Would definitely recommend giving this lovely place a try and we will most certainly be repeat patrons

Food was disgusting. A complete rip off for what you're paying. Dive bars have better food.

We went again on Saturday. WOW!…read more Started with a Martini for my dining partner and iced tea for me. Both were great. The waiter (Josh, a five-star waiter if ever there was one) really knows how to take care of his customers. He really knows the menu, can explain the dishes along with their components and what makes them unique and paces each course perfectly. He even asked if we were BOTH done before any dishes were removed from the table. Nothing looks worse than one person still eating while the rest of the table has no plates in front of them. We started with the roasted carrot salad. The carrots were perfectly roasted and chilled with and amazing tahini "paste" and radicchio, perfectly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. OUTSTANDING!!! Seriously, this could have been my entire meal! The tahini paste is great, and I made it once while making a tahini dressing for roasted Brussels sprouts. Tahini naturally gets thick (paste like) when liquid is added. To make the paste, just stop adding liquid to it and stop mixing until it gets smooth again. Seriously, delicious. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel for our entrees. It comes with a really nice side salad consisting of mixed greens, dressed again with a very mild vinaigrette. My only quibble (and it's a really small one) is I would have liked the schnitzel to be a bit thinner. That said, it was perfectly cooked, not at all dry and the thickness is up to the creator of the dish. I don't think there's a "standard" for this (ha, ha - get it!). Great breading and very tasty. The dessert... Again, had to go with the sticky toffee pudding! If this is on the menu, there's no way I'm not going to order it. GOD, it's just a perfect ending to a great meal, well, that along with a pot of French Press coffee. All in all, the meal came to $108.00 excluding the tip. Expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I spent that much a few weeks ago (maybe more) on a really awful meal/experience at a different place. You'll have to read my old reviews to figure that one out! Anyway, this place treats their employees like they actually appreciate them. They took them on a cruise! Of all the restaurants I used to work at, the best thing I ever received was a shift meal or maybe a cold beer because I was still at the place cooking apps at 1:00 in the morning and the manager wanted to go home but felt bad because I couldn't leave. Thanks for the glass of Miller Lite draft, Mr. Chi-Chi's manager guy! Everyone in the place, from the servers to the hostesses, to the bus folks and the floor manager had smiles and a sense of graciousness and appreciation to each and every customer. Try to find that at any other restaurant in Toledo. The food is top notch, made with very unique recipes and techniques you're not going to find anywhere else. The dining room and restrooms (at least the men's) are clean. I never had to ask for a refill on my iced tea or water. New silverware was brought before each course was served. The old plates were removed from the table after the staff asked if it was OK to do so. Proper training in procedure and etiquette is obvious. Again, just a great meal in every way - 10 out of 10! Can't wait to go back.

We loved the Standard after visit #1. Then, somehow, a year and a half passed before we returned…read more The reason was location, and the reason was atmosphere, but mostly it was atmosphere. After visit #2, I'm not sure there will be a visit #3 anytime soon. The consensus among friends -- confirmed now by our own table -- is that everything is too heavy. The first few bites bring the oohs and the ahhs. By halfway through the plate, the ughs and the oofs begin. The menu reads as thoughtful and dialed in. Our table of four ordered very different entrees -- seafood, steak, pasta, salad -- and somehow every plate arrived at the same destination: rich, savory, dense. No acid. No brightness. And strangely, blue cheese and garlic had crept into every single bite, as if the kitchen could not bear to let a dish leave without them. A meal that should have pleased everyone left most of us with a mild remorse. I felt surprisingly ill for hours afterward -- not because anything was unsafe, not because it wasn't delicious, but because it was simply too much. Too rich. Too savory. The body, it turns out, asks for contrast, and we had not been given any. The service, on the other hand, is STILL outrageously good. Without question some of the best in the region -- better than nearly every higher-end room in town. But the atmosphere is stuffy, the food is one-note, and high quality is not the same thing as good execution. My wife's "medium plus" steak arrived extremely rare. My salmon was undercooked. At this price, that is inexcusable. Still -- the service. The service is something to behold.

To my surprise the parking lot is packed and there's nowhere to park. No signs or anything indicating you can park around the back as I found out later so I ended up parking in the lot next door. They only have a few chicken items on the menu. One chicken sandwich and one roasted chicken dinner. I got the chicken sandwich which is the Hyde park. This is the same exact sandwich I've gotten every time I've ever been here which is why I really haven't come back because there's not a lot of selection for me. The other reason is they got rid of the croissants on the menu LOL. The service was fast and friendly and there was about a medium sized crowd inside despite the parking lot being full. They have kind of a dark semi romantic atmosphere I guess they're going for. The chicken sandwich was nice and tender. I'm not a fan of the shoe string fries because they remind me of Steak and Shake and at this price point I think they should have some good fries here. They actually had a few craft beers on tap but I thought the cocktail prices were a little extreme at 15 plus. My girl got the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and the potatoes were ice cold so they lose a star for that. Other than that I have no complaints except that the pricing for lunch. $20 for a chicken sandwich is a bit much to me.

This place never lets us down. It's always great food, great service and never disappoints. There was a small wait at check in being Sunday with the after church crowd. The people waiting were all dressed up in their Sunday's best. Our hostess seated us and we ordered our drinks with our waitress. I decided to try the Spinach dip which was highly recommended by a fellow Yelper. I'm so glad I tried it because it was delicious! It's the best appetizer I had: Ever! It was hot and cheesy with bold delicious flavors and the pita was large and perfectly fried and crispy. I will order this every time we go! I decided on a burger because I was craving one. I opted for the salad instead of fries with their delicious homemade ranch dressing. My burger was so big, I could barely take a bite. I ate half and took the rest home. It was cooked to my liking: medium well and was good, no complaints. My husband's steak was the winner. He gave me a small bite and I started to regret my choices. I think I will get the steak next time. It was to die for. We had another wonderful dinner here. Our waitress was great! Our food was great. The price was great! We will be back next time we are in town. The reason it did not get 5 stars: bathroom needed cleaned and the ribs were not available. My mother in law loves their ribs and although her Filet was delicious, she was really hoping to have her ribs.

We arrived with a party of 10 people (6 adults & 4 children), looking forward to dining together to celebrate my sons birthday. However, we were refused service on the basis of our group size. While I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding large parties, the way the situation was handled felt dismissive and lacking in accommodation or effort to offer alternatives. There was no attempt to seat us other than they told us we could sit in separate sections. Good customer service includes making reasonable efforts to accommodate guests or, at the very least, communicating policies clearly and courteously. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration to improve how similar situations are handled in the future.

We had the Dallas Filet and Bone-In Ribeye done medium rare and topped with sauteed mushrooms. Steaks were a bit shy of medium rare, seasoned well. We joined the waitlist at approximately 4:02 p.m. and arrived at the restaurant around 4:30 p.m. When we checked in, the original hostess acknowledged that the quoted wait time was around an hour and 25 minutes, but specifically told us that the restaurant was "moving much faster than expected" and that we would "be seated by 5:00 p.m. at the most." Based on that assurance, we stayed and waited patiently. At approximately 5:05 p.m., we checked again and were told it would be another 20 minutes. Then, at approximately 5:32 p.m., after already waiting well beyond the promised seating time, we checked yet again and were suddenly told the wait had increased to another 35 minutes. That is completely unacceptable. We had children with us. My wife was understandably upset, and we stood outside for well over an hour receiving inconsistent and misleading information the entire time. Had we been given honest expectations from the beginning, we could have made other arrangements instead of wasting our evening standing outside with our family. What is even more remarkable is that we finally received a text message at 6:22 p.m. telling us our table was ready. That was literally an hour and a half after the hostess assured us we would be seated by 5:00 p.m. upon our arrival. The issue is not simply that there was a wait -- restaurants get busy. The issue was the repeated inaccurate updates and assurances that turned out to be completely false. After all of this, we ultimately had no choice but to leave without ever being seated. This experience was extremely frustrating and left a very poor impression of your restaurant and its management of reservations and wait times. Because of this experience, we will not be returning to this location.
