Gepetto Cafe utilizes the waitlist app which worked perfectly, and it allowed our group of six time to do a short walk to kill time. We went to the location in Bloomfield, having read the great reviews. While we had a shaky start to the visit, the most important part -- the food-- was excellent and thus the 4 star review (I would do 4.5 stars but not an option). Our biggest issue was that they had forgotten we were waiting and we ended up asking them after 30 minutes of waiting outside and it was obvious that they had forgotten. They were very apologetic and got us a table right away. That would be fine, but then we did end up waiting for our food for at least 45 minutes or more. That seems a bit too long. However, in the end, the crepes were fabulous!! I had the Bonjour crepe which I devoured and my family all loved theirs as well. Decor is fun and it is a lively place. Geppetto's is one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. A quaint and cozy spot in Lawrenceville, the food is always on point and they have delicious coffee and tea too. I love the savory crepes! The decor is quirky and the space is small. I've never had to wait long for a table but they do have a waiting list and will call you when your table is ready. This is pretty nice considering the location is nearby plenty of shops and places to walk around while you wait. Note, if you are gluten free they do not have a substitute crepe that will fit this need. Crepes are made with both buckwheat and regular flour. read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for quite some time as I am a big fan of crêpes. I finally stopped in today, hoping to eat on their newly decorated patio but it was both pouring and very cold, so I did something I haven't done since pre-Covid and dined indoors. It is a relatively small indoor space but they do have the tables well-spaced (which I appreciated when the guy at the next table sneezed not once but twice -- just my luck the first time I dine indoors!). It's adorably decorated with eclectic decor including some presumably local art that looked to be available for purchase. Servers and cooks all looked to be masked properly and I liked that they had the menu under a sheet of plexiglass on the table so you could review it without touching and they could simply wipe that down between guests. My server was super friendly and efficient, brought water and took my drink order as soon as I sat down, and took my food order as soon as he brought my coffee (which was a delicious start to the meal, and I'm picky about coffee). I can't resist Nutella anything so ordered the Classic Nutella crêpe which was generously spread with Nutella and topped with strawberries and bananas. There were two large dollops of whipped cream on the side which were absolutely delicious. My total cost for crêpe, coffee and tip was about $14 and they had a nice self-service card system where you check yourself out at your table. Great service, delicious food and a wide variety of sweet and savory crêpes to choose from. I can't wait to stop back to try more and hope to check out the patio next time! read more

Some two top tables are a foot away from each other, so not a place to spread out. They were out of Turkish coffee but their drip coffee was strong enough. Free cup with Yelp check in was a bonus. Saves you $3.25. Free refills too. Very friendly with every interaction. They aren't quick to rush you through your meal, but very attentive to your needs and the folks waiting. I truly did enjoy my breakfast here. My sisters, mom and I came on a Saturday morning right when they opened at 9:00am. This restaurant gets VERY busy. I would say almost the whole restaurant was full by 9:15/30. We were sat at our table at 9:00am and ordered our drinks and food by 9:05am. Our food came in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Bonjour Crepe. The crepe itself was very good, I just did not enjoy the flavor of the brie. The sweet Nutella Classic Crepe and Tiramisu Crepe were absolutely loved by my sisters. My mom ordered the Ham and Cheese Crepe and loved it so much she was sure to leave some leftovers for later. Our drinks were all very tasty. My sisters London Fog Tea Latte was the best she has ever had. She gets it at every restaurant that serves it, but this was her favorite so far. The local brunch of our dreams!!! We loved this cafe. We've been wanting to go here for a while and finally got to go this week. When we walked in there was a short wait because the place is a little small, so I would try to put your name on the list if you're thinking about going. It felt like a hidden gem in Pittsburgh. Fluffy and thick. The apples were caramelized and not too crunchy or too soft. It came with whipped cream for free. Plus, the cinnamon flavor was present but not overpowering. I thought the berry crepe was good as well. Again, the price was fine. It had many different types of berries: strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries in large quantities. The crepe itself was well made. I would have personally liked more Nutella on it, though. Seemed like it was more of a garnish than a main component. Sad to say, but Geppetto's is unfortunately not the same as it used to be. I suggested meeting someone here for lunch since it's a cute spot with consistently great crepes. We were seated right away on a Tuesday, and our waitress was very sweet. We both ordered savory crepes and I had an oat milk latte. My latte was good, but was just warm-not hot at all. Our food came out very quickly. Once we each cut into our crepes we noticed the insides were completely cold and the cheese was not melted at all. The crepe itself was just room temp. Maybe the crepe was made in advance and then just put on the griddle for a minute with the fillings? I felt bad because the food is always so good, but I had to tell the waitress. She apologized and agreed the kitchen would remake our food. It came out super hot this time with melty cheese, but the fillings were just not fresh. The mushrooms in my filling were dirty and old and none of the veggies were cookied in advance. It just had cold veggies in the inside. The salad on the side had no dressing - just mixed lettuces from Aldi. The experience was very meh. I feel bad, because this is a small business I have supported for years.
