This is a great place for a quick fresh bite to eat! I love the sauces and they ALL compliment the falafel well! We also ordered the kids menu which was great the kids loved the chicken in the skewer with the perfect seasoning. What I was most excited about was the new zatar fries which were amazing. The baklava was great with the honey drizzle on it now I'm always craving it! I recommend this location out of all three. I went to the one on gate city and had a hair in my hummus along with a side of cold fries. I've been eating at Ghassan's since I was in grade school. Wow, that's been over 20 years! Now I feel old. Ghassan's really does have THE BEST cheese steak in the Triad. If I am ever craving one, there's is what I go after. I recently had Ghassan's cater lunch for my business and everyone enjoyed it so much! Was excited to try out this new restaurant, given my love of Mediterranean food. Admittedly I only tried one dish -- the combination plate of falafel/tahini sauce/salad. Some of the folks in my own family hail from the Mediterranean and I'm used to really exquisite tasting-falafel and tahini sauce. However the falafels at Ghassan's were extremely salty and dry and the tahini was completely lackluster as was the accompanying salad. Additionally, customer service was indifferent and rude. In particular the middle-aged bald man by the grill was extremely unfriendly/unhelpful. Bathroom was dirty and it made me wonder about the state of Ghassan's kitchen. The place looked like a hospital cafe -- no charm or anything endearing. Won't be back. I really like this place! There isn't many "fast and cheap" food options when you have Celiac, but this place is a great option! I wish I didn't live an hour away because I'd probably eat here quite often. You can get any sub on a gluten free pita, but beware their steak is not gluten free. I stuck with tuna salad and it was delicious! The sandwich was much bigger than I thought it would be. The gluten free pita is really good. You won't even notice that it's gluten free. They don't list chips on their menu, but they do have plain Utz chips. There's not many gluten free side options. They do have a gluten free dessert that I didn't get a chance to try. My family isn't gluten free. My husband ordered the steak and cheese sub with fries, my oldest son got the dinosaur shaped nuggets and fries, and my youngest had the orzo pasta salad. They all seemed to really enjoy their food. The portions were really big for the price. You definitely get your money's worth. I also ordered a steak and cheese pita to go for my mother-in-law, and it was still hot when we got home (they wrapped it in foil). The staff is also very nice and friendly. I eat Ghassan's at least once a week, either at the restaurant or via delivery to my office. (They even catered the rehearsal dinner for my wedding!) They recognize me and greet me by name when I enter. Until they changed up their system for taking orders recently, the main guy remembered my order from one visit to the next! It feels good to support a locally-owned, family-run business. It also feel good to have so many healthy choices! From the gluten-free tabouleh and falafel (made with quinoa), to the grilled chicken salad, to the chicken kabobs, you can come away feeling good about what you've eaten. (I know that their cheese steak sandwich is popular, too, but as someone who doesn't eat beef, I can't say.) They recently (summer 2018) went through a re-make of their menu, adding several new, delicious items, the chicken shawarma being my favorite with its flavorful chicken, delightfully garlicky sauce, and tart pickles -- an incredible combination of flavors! The new fried cauliflower is not to be missed, either, bring pan-fried and not breaded and deep-fried. I'm so glad that we have Ghassan's in Greensboro! read more

Good stop for a quick bite to eat. We had a gyro...pretty good...I'd prefer one that was cooked on and sliced off the spic but that's not easy to find around here. My wife had the Gluten free pita and she thought it was very good! That's something not offered by many people at all. What a nice refreshing thing to have on the menu. They have done a nice job with the updates in the interior of the restaurant. I wish they would follow suit in the restrooms too. All in all, a good meal at a reasonable price. Love the food. The taste isn't an issue. I ordered what the menu called "chicken salad" under the "lighter fare" section. The description states: "a single scoop of chicken salad on one of our fresh salads." - $4.69 Okay, sounds great. I wanted a side salad size salad and a little bit of chicken salad. What I received was an ounce of shredded lettuce, and a scoop of chicken salad. I would call it a "lettuce bed." To me, at ghassan's, a salad consists of lettuce, feta, and cucumbers with the house dressing... so where is the rest of the said salad? Very disappointed. With the battleground location having a new menu, it sure is misleading. In response to the owner: Maybe you should inform your staff about what it says as well. When I tried to explain what I wanted, the girl at the counter was completely dumbfounded as to how she could suit my needs. As in the past as well, it seems as if the menu is the menu, and there is not any wiggle room to it. With an added cost, I should be able to order something how I want it. So, a small side salad with chicken salad on top shouldn't be that big of a deal, right? And it also shouldn't cost me $9 at the end of it all.... read more

I am a sucker for Sarah's Kebab Shop in Greensboro and if I have anything that's remotely similar, i'm always quite partial. I love Mediterranean food; I think it's so simple and hearty and delicious. I sometimes try to put something together for myself at home however nothing comes close to authentic. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch right before noon, there were a couple of diners but still plenty of places to sit. Counter service was pretty friendly. I ordered the chicken kebab with double salad; the chicken was hot and was flavored nicely however I found the salad to be a little boring; a simple Mediterranean salad can be fabulous if it's dressed properly with a ton of flavor. I just didn't find it here. Finished most of my meal and the portion was perfect for lunch but if I was at Sarah's I would've definitely finished my entire plate and have been stuffed & pleased. Over the past year I have eaten at this particular restaurant (and a couple of the other locations in the area) 2 - 3 times per week as part of my diet plan...and I've lost over 30 pounds in the process. I guess I"m kind of an expert when it comes to Ghassan's so here's my thoughts... I switch back and forth between a few menu items (with special emphasis on the HUGE Grilled Chicken Salad). The things that are most important to me: - Locally owned - many members of the family work in the restaurants and they contribute HEAVILY to support the community - FRESHLY prepared - they seem to make everything from scratch (even their incredible salad dressing.) - Healthy - I've never looked into the exact ingredients or calories but I know that I always feel full and balanced after I eat there and the weight loss thing is testament to their food. Keep in mind this is a quick service restaurant. If you're expecting fancy or formal - this isn't the place for you. Service is quick and friendly without being too "in your face." They take your order, fill it quickly and say thank you. That's all I really need and they do this consistently. They have a nice selection of items that would make a kid happy and there is a good selection for everyone else from tasty fries to low-cal salads. If you are in town for Furniture Market you'll find their food truck outside of one of the buildings on most days and last market I had a few meals from a stand upstairs in Market Square. Ghassan's is the favorite place to eat for everyone in my family. The food it authentic and delicious. I use to dream about their steak and cheese. It truly is the best anywhere. When my son comes home from college the first place he wants to eat is Ghassan's. I've had almost everything on the menu and as a foodie, it can say it doesn't get better this. Ghassan's has changed the way they do things that makes getting your order take forever. The current staff is unfamiliar with what they offer and I was told they no longer have beef kabobs. I can only speak to the Cornwallis Avenue location. I just moved here from the D.C. area and travelled frequently on business and pleasure to Philadelphia. Philadelphia is the home of cheese steaks. - No other way to describe the steak in my cheese steak than bland, crumbly and dry. No hint of flavor or marinade (and they promote marinading the meat). Really awful. - Upgraded to platter to include salad and hummus but then had to pay for 2 pita for the hummus. What? Why wouldn't pita be included if I ordered hummus? - With the platter, you will not receive a drink included so I had to pay for an ice tea (half/half sweet and unsweet. - $2.08 for the ice tea served out of milk jugs which tasted like 2-day old coffee. - Salad is opaque lettuce, a few chopped tomatoes and a small amount of feta. No olives, peppers or cucumbers. - Where are the toppings for the steak and cheese? Hot peppers? Mayo? Ketchup? Pickles? Tomato? Onions? Nothing offered. What the heck? - Greasy roll but some may like this. Not me. I would rather have a robust stuffed steak and cheese without a greasy bun. - Lettuce on steak and cheese and in the salad tasted bitter...like chlorine. $12.45 before ice tea removed from check. Way too expensive for the quality of product. Not sure why so many fabulous reviews but maybe other locations are better. read more

I have to say, for me, Ghassan's has the best Steak and Cheese in town. It's reasonably priced (about $6), the 6 inch is enough for a meal (along with the chips and pickle) and it's just crazy good. For an extra treat, take it home and add a little sharp cheddar cheese to it (that's what I do). read more

Went here with about 20 students from our church's youth group for lunch, and we all were served in a timely fashion with no problem. I have not eaten here In years but I always remembered it as being great. All I used to get was the steak and cheese though. This time I thought I would go for the gyro. Even talked some one else into one as well. My mistake! Very bland. Lettuce had a taste of chlorine or some kind of off taste. I just had Ghassan's yesterday for the first time in awhile, I forgot how delicious the gyros are. There's just something about how they cook the steak, it's unlike anywhere else!
