When visiting the iconic Olvera Street, why not try original things. Serving El Lay since 1934,…read moreCielito Lindo brings to you their famous taquitos and avocado sauce. AMBIANCE Parking: Welcome to El Lay, it gets packed. Your best bets are street parking some metered parking but definitely do public transit if it's offered. Seating: They have some tables for you to chill but other than that, it's a good grab and go spot to just enjoy the Olvera Street atmosphere. Vibes: Los Angeles is very unique as no parts of the city are the same. This pays roots to the Hispanic roots. Eating here feels like eating a piece of Los Angeles history. You're surrounded by colorful market stalls, mariachi music, and the energy of Olvera Street, the experience is about more than just the food. This isn't a flashy restaurant--it's a historic food stand that has earned its reputation through consistency, tradition, and community. Great place for a quick food adventure - fulfilling an appetite or taking a bite out of history. FOOD Original Taquitos & Avocado Sauce (Recommend) You got to explore the hype while you're here right? The taquitos had a good crisp on the outside while the shredded beef inside remained tender and flavorful. The sauce was nothing too flashy but I guess it was ahead of it's time. A mix of guac and soothing creamy avocado flavors. It helps bring a tangy yet packed bite in your tortillas. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and awesome! Straight business and good service. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. As a long term resident in the City of Angels, it's an honor to try a part of history. Nothing too flashy but a great place to experience. till next time, Cielito Lindo! TIPS * Visit while exploring Olvera Street so you can enjoy the surrounding shops and history.

This is a difficult review to write because the food at Cielito Lindo has always been fantastic. If…read moreI were rating the food alone, it would easily earn 5 stars. The taquitos are iconic, the avocado sauce is legendary, and it's one of those classic Los Angeles spots that has built its reputation for a reason. Unfortunately, I'm leaving a 1-star review because you can't eat food from a restaurant that isn't open. As of June 16, 2026, this location has appeared to be closed for approximately the last month. Google, Yelp, and other online sources continue to show operating hours, yet every time I've stopped by, the restaurant has been closed. There are construction barriers and no clear explanation posted regarding when or if it will reopen. The most frustrating part is the lack of communication. If the business is temporarily closed for construction, renovations, permitting issues, or any other reason, customers deserve accurate information. Updating business hours online or posting a notice would save people unnecessary trips. So, to anyone reading this: the food deserves 5 stars, but I would strongly recommend calling ahead before making a special trip. Based on my experience over the past month, do not rely on the posted hours. I genuinely hope they reopen soon because Los Angeles would be better for it. Until then, potential customers should know that the information currently listed online does not appear to reflect reality.

Since Burgers 99 is gone... this has officially taken over as my favorite burger in LA…read more Amboy is tucked into the Chinatown plaza with another one of my favorite spots, La Sita. Howlin' Ray's is there too... but I don't care. ‍ Yes, they have smash burgers here, but I don't really think of Amboy as a smash burger place. It's the thicker burgers that keep bringing me back. Also, don't plan your entire trip around getting The DH because they don't always have it. This was my second visit and once again it wasn't available, so we ended up getting the Amboy and the Fancy, both Slim Thicc style. The seating situation is the only real downside. On weekends people end up eating all over the plaza--around the trees, on benches, basically wherever they can find a place to sit. Weekdays are definitely the move if you can make it. One thing to know before you get in line: people take their sweet time ordering here, and honestly I get it because everything sounds good. Just bring a little patience. The only thing I wish they'd asked was how I wanted my burger cooked. They asked what thickness I wanted but not the temperature. I'm always happy when a burger place asks if I want medium rare, medium, whatever. Next time I'll probably just tell them I want it medium rare. The burgers though? Fantastic. Especially if you're like me and getting a little burned out on every new place opening another expensive smash burger spot. One warning though... Don't plan anything after eating here. I was ready to go home, crawl into bed, and have happy BurgerTime dreams.

Placed an order…read moreon Doordash THE NIGHT BEFORE to prepare a burger and fries on OPENING the next day Friday, 1 hour passed from scheduled time and nothing. It probably would have been ready by dinner. Then again maybe not as they completely disregarded the time when it should have been ready. I must disclose the time I am talking about is the time that it should have been ready not from when I placed the order delayed updates over and over, 4 drivers changed, same loop, a nightmare. Fought with live chat on DD just to cancel order and they have the audacity to say I may not get a refund. I tore them several new ones and they finally oblidged, now I have to wait a week for the cc refund. What kind of a bullshit "service" and restaurant is this? Passed my lunch break at work and I had to skip lunch it was too late to order anything else after I waited over an hour for nothing. 100% restaurants fault for their incompetence. But, the Doordash company clearly doesnt have safeguards for this sort of thing, this is precisely why I hesitate to use these food delivery services, and probably won't again. Take you meat patties and stick them up your ass. Should change their name to Ingrateboy.

Saw a viral video of this street food on IG, in downtown LA, next to a bridge, street vibes, a bit…read moreof a Brooklyn feel, so I had to swing by and try it. The kebabs being grilled looked wonderful and well-marinated. It's a long street stand with an electronic ordering system monitor in the middle. The man himself, Farhod, stands around the middle and cuts fine looking pieces of already grilled meat, to create platters and wraps for the customers. My friend and I asked him for a recommendation and he said we must try a ribeye plate, so we ordered a plate each. It took about 30 minutes for the plates to be prepared, as this place is busy. Right before the plates are given out and if you're standing by your plate, their signature move is to slice off a strip of ribeye and let you taste it right before receiving your plate. Nice touch! Each plate came with delicious rice, very fresh tasty salad, a crispy, very yummy large pita bread and a good size portion of the ribeye itself. Although the ribeye was pretty juicy, both me and my friends thought that the meat was over salted, in fact we even left some ribeye behind. Maybe it's a one-off, since these ribeyes came highly recommended, but that was our experience last night. Would consider coming back here to try their whet looked like a beautifully marinated, succulent chicken kebab. Parking situation is a bit crazy, with many cars double parking, but I guess the local police allow it, so no issues there. The customer service was pretty good. Will visit again.

The space has a dark, industrial vibe, and I loved seeing the sausage display when you walk in. We shared the duck & bacon, mango jalapeño, rattlesnake & rabbit, and the Klein. The duck & bacon was easily our favorite. It was juicy and packed with flavor. The mango jalapeño had a nice balance of sweet and savory but I wish it had more heat. The rattlesnake & rabbit was interesting but could've used a little more salt. I also loved the toasted buns, sauerkraut, and caramelized onions. The fries were fluffy inside but I wish they were a little crispier. I also loved their beer selection and they let us sample a few before ordering. If you go definitely get the Kasteel Tropicale!! It was my favorite beer of the night! The service was great and the cashiers gave us awesome recommendations. Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's a fun spot to grab beers and sausages with friends!

Her late night bacon wrapped hot dogs were unbelievably delicious and reminded me of an incredible moment in my life back in the 1980s. I had been on a party bender in Tijuana with my buddy Ned and was feeling a little weary. On my way back to the hotel, I heard a voice and saw a sign advertising a hot dog lady's delicious dogs. I decided to give it a try, and the first bite of that heavenly bacon wrapped hot dog completely changed my life and saved me from my weary state! The flavors were out of this world and are something I will never forget. Tasting the hot dog lady's late night bacon wrapped hot dogs in Echo Park brought me back to that moment decades ago. They were just as succulent and flavorful as I remembered, and I was glad to experience the same feelings of joie de vivre that I felt back then.
