As I was diving to find the football clinic for my kiddos I saw this place. The signs with the specials outside lured me in. Service: Friendly, patient, and informative. The person who helped me informed me of the specials. She did it all cashier, answered the phone, and made all the food. A one woman show who did well in everything. Food: 10" Italian Sub Combo ($9.99 and combo fries + soda $3.99) My husband halfed it with my oldest son and they both enjoyed it. Garlic Knots (6 for $6.99)-! It had perfect amount of garlic. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. 14" large Pizza ($13.99)- Honestly I thought the pizzas would be Giant due to the name. They have five different sizes. I may order the biggest size if we ever have a party. The pizza is thick. It was ok, I don't usually like thick pizzas. The pizza itself was ok. I feel like it was a very doughy/thick crusted pizza and didn't have that greasy/salty/twang that I was expecting and appreciate. So not my style but I still devoured it of course. The slice was huge. Decent ratio of pepp to cheese. Good price for a slice. I also find it hard to find a jumbo spot that also sells just slices so there's a perk too. The service was great! Very kind and welcoming. I called my order in. It took 20 minutes. I order the lasagna plate, which includes a drink and garlic bread. Lasagna... two pieces of lasagna pasta with a whole bunch of sauce. The meat sauce was overwhelming compared to the "piece of lasagna." The "garlic bread" it was a piece of sourdough bread with butter and cheese. Came here for pick up during coronavirus times. Got two three topping Calzones. Order time was fast and efficient, however when I came inside for pick up, neither person working was wearing a mask. They proceeded to bring my my order with their masks around their necks. Calzones themselves were large. Bread was light and stretchy, not too dense. Toppings inside seemed reasonable and each order came with a side of marinara. Not overly flavorful but still enjoyable. Much lighter than it looks! Located in a strip mall with parking. I don't like when the restaurant is charging more than they advertise. Clearly by the door they have 1 price posted, but they overcharged me on every item. I paid first and gave them tip, but after few minutes checked my receipt and saw the outrageous price difference on every item. Veggie pizza they charged me almost double price of their 14" 3 toppings pizza. There are 5 items on it and you need to search for them as some are barely present on the pizza. I wanted to cancel the order but they refused telling me it's too late, although no pizza was even in the oven. No wonder I was the only customer. I saw the reviews and went to them based on positive reviews and because I was in the area visiting family. This place will not have my business ever again and neither should they have anyone's else's business either. Big recession is coming anyhow and they should fight for customers and not treat them like that. Gyros is mediocre. Sauce and salad in it tastes great, but the pita bread is too soggy and meat they prepare out of bag. No gyros rotisserie machine in the store. They warm up the meat on the grill out of some package. I found Giant Pizza King through Yelp last week. I was craving late-night pizza and this was pretty much the closest place that was still open at that hour. They are open until midnight every night according to the employees despite Yelp's site that says they close at 11pm. It's randomly located in a residential neighborhood in Linda Vista. They have a lot of stuff on their menu aside from pizza like burgers, pastas, chicken wings, fish & chips, sub sandwiches and a bunch of other appetizers. The amazing thing is they actually make everything fresh to-order. We came in around 11pm and they were seriously cooking up my friend's spaghetti fresh and the pizzas were popped into the oven after I put in my order. I would have assumed that since it was late at night everything would have been re-heated but nope! They make everything on the spot. The name says it all Giant Pizza King. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and I got a combo slice for my roommate and these slices were HUGE! It's like 1.5x or even 2x the size of an average slice. We both couldn't finish our slices in one sitting. My friend ordered a whole pizza for himself and also spaghetti and chicken wings and he was enjoying every bite of his meal.
