He even took a test drive together with me so I could show exactly what I was feeling and he could make sure he understood the issue correctly. Maxim explained all the repairs very well, answered every question I had, and never made me feel rushed. He also showed me a couple settings I could adjust to make the ride better, which was not even part of the repair, just genuinely helpful. I had a disappointing experience with GIC Car Clinic and would not recommend them based on how I was treated. I called ahead and spoke with Max about getting an oil change. I mentioned I wanted to use Mobil 1, and he suggested Castrol might be a better option. He invited me to come by at 2:00 PM so we could go over my options in person. I arrived right on time, and there were two employees present, one helping a customer and another on the phone (who I believe was Max). I sat down and waited. After about five minutes, the employee who had been on the phone appeared to be available, so I tried to get his attention. He indicated he was still on a call via Bluetooth. I continued waiting, and during that time Max stepped in and out of the office area to the workshop many times, but never acknowledged me. No one greeted me, checked in, or gave any indication that I would be helped. After about 10 minutes of being completely ignored despite having been invited to come in at a specific time I left. I understand shops get busy, but basic customer service goes a long way. A simple "we'll be with you shortly" would have made a big difference. Instead, the experience felt dismissive and like a waste of my time. I also followed up with a message afterward and never received a response, which only reinforced my impression. read more

HIGH PRESSURE SALES. No matter how nicely you ask them for a price or an estimate, they are ALWAYS trying to sell you something else. "How much for struts?" "Bring your car in and we'll sell you this chemical to put in your car that makes it run better". They are absolutely relentless; over and over, they simply never stop. They make you come in for an estimate LYING that they need to see the car, when every other shop in SJ will give you a quote over the phone. Price was medium for basic maintenance. I had problems with a major braking component that was previously replaced and failed too quickly. I researched online and found that the reason was because OEM parts were not used. So I made an oil change appointment for 2pm and had a coupon they sent by mail making the total around $34 but of course the catch is they aggressively try to get you to pay for other things they "highly recommend" to make up for the loss from the discount. When I said no to the other add ons, the guy at the front who was checking me in started sounding hostile and clearly unhappy that I wasn't going to go along with his recommendation that brought the total of $34 to $90-$100!! OUTRAGEOUS. Then proceeds to tell me it will take 2 hours which I've never heard of an oil change taking 2 hours long and then tells me well we have other cars here and need to tend to them which generally I'd understand but then WHY OVERBOOK and give me a 2pm appt??? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE that's honest, honors yours appointment, and not here where they shove every other service down your throat. Now to be clear, Helen and her family have been very nice but it appears the gentleman at the front (might've been named James) is who provided this terrible customer service. UPDATE*** someone left this 'compliment' for me after my review and the same individual then left a positive review following mine to maybe pad it? Funny they also mention they had to "wait a bit longer but that's ok" which seems almost aimed at my review but again who knows. A message this emotional doesn't seem likely to come from a stranger and most likely would be from someone involved but I'll leave that up for speculation. My only rebuttal to this "compliment" would be it's Wednesday so not sure how I'm waiting until the last minute and Im typically very understanding to the "overworked and understaffed" comment if I didn't have an appointment (they scheduled) and I was just a walk in. I must say this place is weird, so I go in last minute to only get an oil change that's it. The lady goes on Carfax it's showing me what's been done over the years with my truck, I go yeah. She goes you need this and that. I go I'm hear for an oil change. Then she goes click on the text message so you can approve or deny what you don't want. I go back and fourth on it which took like 35 minutes smh. Then she goes well it's almost 2pm so your oil change will be done by 5 because we are busy. Really it's 1:35pm looking at my watch, I go well we spend too much time doing the texts stuff, she goes it will be faster next time. Aside from that she's trying to offer things I don't want to do now. It's 4:20 i called to see if my truck is ready, the guy goes I will send you a text when it's done and everything else, I go ok. So i clicked on the text to see the work that was done and other stuff that may need to be done on my truck really quick. They call me at 4:48 your truck is ready when can you pick it up because we close at 5pm. I go 20 minutes because you just called me and need a ride there smh. Then the guy ask me did I checked the stuff that may need to be done to my truck . I go glacéd at it because I was busy. I said I will be take a look at it later And fix it at a later time. Then I go in to pay and again with the text message approve the payment which is more time consuming. Especially when I need my vehicle to do my Errand's already. I do not recommend this place, they take too long and try to get more work on your vehicle nah I'm good. I'm not coming here ever again! read more
