This restaurant is inside the Hilton near the bar. It's convenient for the people already staying at the hotel but otherwise doesn't have a free parking lot if you want to dine here. We ordered the steak dinner with brussel sprouts and asparagus. We also ordered the beignets with caramel sauce. The steak itself was very chewy and had a lot of tendon. The asparagus was almost cooked to mush and had no texture. The brussel sprouts were actually the standout of the meal. Perfectly roasted with some kind of honey sauce. The beignets were mushy with the caramel sauce on it so I wish it was on the side instead. But it was delicious! The bartender was very nice though and checked in on us even though she was busy.

The most courteous bartender, waiting tables and serving at the bar... the drinks very good AND I had a veggie option, the pasta primavera! IF you like a spicy creamy sauce (which I do) enjoy this hotel restaurant. It was so good. More support for this awesome bartending/hosting/waitress... Brittany IS awesome!

I honestly couldn't have asked for better waitress, Janae, to start. In addition to the top tier service she provided, the food was DELICIOUS. 10/10 definitely recommend !!

Not my favorite but may have just been off due to freak snow storm in New Orleans. Restaurant served its purpose of getting a meal when many businesses were closed or ran out of food. Food choices were limited but that would have been OK if service was good. Seemed staff were more interested in socializing with other staff than waiting on customers. It was convenient as restaurant was located in Hotel but big disappointment compared to other Canopy Restaurants. Food was Ok and nothing spectacular but served its purpose. Wish heat had been fixed as the dining room was not comfortable.

I've tried almost everything on the menu during my stay at the Hilton Canopy and the only good thing they got is the Crayfish fried rice. It is top notch delicious but they make it different spice levels every time. The flavor is always good though. The brussels sprouts were good too but nothing to die for. The burger was also just ok but a tad too salty. things I would never recommend to my worst enemy is the brisket and broccoli and the yakamein. They're SO SALTY I had to rinse the food with water before I could swallow it. I hate to waste food but these 2 dishes got me really considering throwing it out. The pork buns are also super dry like bricks. I also got their eggs benny for breakfast and that was good. Not better than other restaurants but great for hotel food. Do yourself a favor and only get the crayfish fried rice. The food also takes at least 20 mins and not the 10 minutes they keep telling you.

The Ginger Roux is the best Asian/Creole fusion cuisine I've ever had. If you ever stay at the Canopy Hilton, do yourself a favor and try something off the menu! It's very easy to only eat fried fish, red beans, or other traditional New Orleans cuisine. Trust me, this is different in a good way! There was little to no wait to be seated and they have a great patio area, so we sat outside! The staff and servers are all very nice. The menu is small but covers all the bases. We ordered the crispy chicken wings in Tso's Spicy and Hoisin sauce. Both were good, but we preferred the Tso's Spicy. So the next day (we obviously stayed at the hotel a few days), we went back to eat and this time we ordered the Crawfish Boil Fried Rice. We were a little hesitant because the food description had a little bit of everything. From crawfish, sausage, eggs, corn, and mushrooms! LISTEN!!!! This fried rice is sooooo GOOD! Literally a party in my mouth. My husband and I could barely stop stuffing it in our mouths! I can't even begin to explain how delicious it was, but we definitely went back the next day and ordered it again! We will be back soon to stuff ourselves full of fried rice again! Please note: the serving is large enough for two people to share and both be full!

The Ginger Roux, is a restaurant in the Canopy Hotel by Hilton. They serve a variety of Asian food. This restaurant does lunch and dinner. And also to go. The prices are moderate. This place does not do cash. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The hostess is usually the waitress. Meaning when we went the service was good. The restaurant is light and bright and clean.

Delicious Breakfast. I enjoyed eating crawfish eggs Benedict here. Service proved friendly and the restaurant was not crowded, so service was quick. The restaurant ambience is alright. I would eat breakfast here again.

Did a last minute takeout order at the bar around 10:20 so can't talk about the dine in experience. Took the food up to my hotel room. The Chicken thigh had a nice flavor and came with a Salad that complimented it well. It says kimchi aioli but it doesn't really taste like Kimchi. It's still pretty good though. The Fried rice was solid. Had a good amount of crawfish, sausage, corn, and mushroom. The texture of the rice could've been better though. The menu says potato chips but I think they're wonton chips. They probably fit better with the dish anyways. They came seasoned and were a bit too salty. Overall I'd say the food here is a solid 4/5.

This review is for the crawfish boil fried rice, I ordered it as takeout. The portion is enormous!!! It's very tasty and well worth the price. More than enough for two or three people.

Brisket and broccoli but where's the brisket?

My order tonight totaled $68.00. I ordered the veggie fried rice, brisket and broccoli, and the chili lime cucumber salad. The rice for the veggie fried rice was so hard and undercooked that it was inedible. The chili-lime cucumber salad was VERY spicy even though the menu did not indicate it was spicy. Also the brisket and broccoli i was given a container of mostly sauce and mushy broccoli. The sauce was very gingery and not good. I was very disappointed as this place has great reviews. Tried to call the restaurant to see if there's anything they can do but no answer. I understand it's the end of the night (ordered a little after 9 and they close at 10) but this food was super overpriced for what i got. I hate to waste food but it was pretty inedible.

We recently tried this place and we loved it so much, we've gone back pretty much once a week…read moresince! It's a little casual Chinese restaurant next to Rose Manor Inn (perfect to eat here if you're staying at the Bed and Breakfast next door!). It's very clean, and Ming works in the kitchen himself every day, so you know the food is consistent all the time. Ingredients used in the food seem to be of good quality too! We've only tried a few items so far, but I really love the garlic shrimp on their lunch menu! It's a slightly tangy sauce with of course, garlic. We haven't tried their dinner menu yet, but the lunch menu features items that are only $11 each for a super filling and delicious meal! The lunch is a fantastic deal on it's own; it comes with generous portions of both the item you order and fried rice, but you can also add a side (egg roll, cho cho, and etc.) for just a few bucks more if you think you're extra hungry. I definitely recommend this place!

'Never had a bad, or even less than terrific, meal there. Prices are reasonable. I mostly get the kung po shrimp or pepper steak. Their fried rice is probably the best of any Asian restaurant in town -- particularly for lunch where other restaurants seem to put forth less effort. The egg roll, which is $3 extra for lunch, is huge and always yummy. Just add a little sweet and sour sauce and a dab of hot mustard. Highly recommended.

We started with the crab rangoons, and they were spot on: golden and crispy with that creamy, slightly sweet filling that makes you reach for "just one more." Not greasy, not heavy, exactly how they should be. The Trey Yuen Special Steak absolutely delivered. Tender slices, perfectly cooked, coated in a rich, savory sauce that had depth without overpowering the meat. It felt like one of those signature dishes that's been refined over years. The Hunan chicken brought a balanced heat flavorful and slightly smoky with plenty of vegetables, not just spice for the sake of spice. It had that classic boldness without being overwhelming. But honestly? The bartender elevated the whole experience. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being over the top, and clearly experienced. Drinks were balanced, timely, and thoughtfully made, not rushed. It made sitting at the bar feel like the best seat in the house. That level of service makes a difference. The food was consistent and well-executed, but the hospitality is what will bring us back.
