The food here came out really fresh. The karaage was more like Taiwanese fried Chicken with no spice. The chicken was fresh and crispy but it's lacked that typical karaage flavor marinade. Gyozas were more steamed than seared. We got the spicy king ramen. It's a spicy miso base. The ramen was pretty good. The broth could have used more depth but it was tasty and noodles were good. I really did like the cook on them. Pork could have been a tad bit more tender: The marinated egg was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was good as well... they kind of took a while to come around but nonetheless were kind. This place delivers quality tasty ramen. The ramen broth is rich and tasteful, the noodles are chewy and have just the right texture. The tonkotsu is soft and large. I also ordered a side of karaage (fried chicken pieces) on the side. The fried chicken pieces were fried on the outside and soft + smooth + juicy on the inside. They made them just right. The ramen itself was a bit small so I had to order that appetizer. No regrets to that. This place has the small homey ramen shop feel. Hopelessly ramen-tiaclly in love with King of Ramen. I was dragged here by a friend who said I gotta go and try some of LA's best ramen. So who am I to turn that down?! This place is a smaller hole in the wall.. but we love this. I love that spot that isn't huge and over saturated with people. So when I visited around dinner time I noticed that it was not too busy which was great. I did a once over on the menu and noticed that there was a veggie option (YAY). When I went to order my veggie ramen the staff was over the top friendly and said that any of the variations that I was interested in, can be made vegetarian. Super hard to find in ramen spots so that was awesome. But I pretty much chickened out and got the tofu veggie ramen with medium spice. It was a VERY short wait and our steaming hot bowls were being served to us. The aromas of the ramens were amazing! I loved it! I took a bite and it was creamy, savory and a little hint of spice. Decided to stop by here for lunch the other day and it was pretty decent! This place has a really hole-in-the-wall feel to it and is located in a plaza with free, but very limited parking. Service was great and the food came out quickly. I also have to note that their portion sizes are huge and well worth the prices you're paying. I ordered: Fried Tofu (5/5): They've really mastered the art of frying foods without leaving a whole lot of oil and grease! Not only was our fried tofu perfectly crisp on the outside and very silky on the inside, but we also found it super impressive that there was very little oil on the parchment paper below it. The sweet and sour dip that came with it was a solid pairing. Curry Chicken Rice (4/5): I was super impressed by the 7 pieces of juicy and tender chicken in this dish as most restaurants either give fewer pieces or cover smaller pieces heavily in batter. The tan tan ramen wasn't my favorite and something I would pass on next time. There is a sauce bar for self serve. Service: There was a gentlemen who served us throughout out stay. He was pleasant. The food did come out around 10-15 minutes, which is nothing of complaint. Ambiance: The feeling isn't the most comfortable. Their menu is printed huge on the wall, so super easy to order. We got a chicken karaage to share amongst 3 people and a ramen each, which ended up being around $18 per person. I was definitely full at the end and had enough leftovers for another full meal. Spicy King Ramen - the bowl was literally bigger than my face. It's an insane amount of food. Broth is rich, good flavor. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting it so I'd say it's more like a "mild/medium" level of spice. Pork was a little on the drier side but there was a generous amount. This place was a pleasant surprise! I might be biased because I was a little hungover when I went so this place really hit the spot lol. We got the spicy king ramen and another simple one and I think the king ramen was best because it uses two broths to give it a unique yummy flavor. We also tried the pumpkin tempura and that was tasty too. The restaurant is small but clean and cute. The inside front looks like a ramen cart. They have very reasonable prices for good quality food I can't wait to come back as I usually only go to shin sen gumi in Rosemead. Definitely try this place out! But also because of that, they have so much more option to pick from! They got rice, curry, which most other ramen noodle Place does not have. We try their side dish today too. I've only ever ordered on DoorDash so I can't speak on the physical location, but the food always hits even after a driver takes 15-20 minutes to get it to me. They have the best soft boiled eggs I've ever put in my mouth. I rarely ever finish my ramen because it's a lot for me but I always finish my ramen from here because it's so good. This location has been open for a little over a week. It's located in a plaza at the corner of Sierra Madre and Colorado (northeast corner). You order and pay first, then sit. They deliver your dish to your table. There is limited seating-about 20 people at one time. Parking is free, and street parking is available. Water is filtered, room temp, self serve and tastes great (see the back of the wagon). We had the tonkotsu ramen for $9. It came with a soft boiled egg, two large slices of pork, red ginger, and a slice of seaweed. Other toppings were extra, but they did not have a large variety of toppings such as bamboo shoot (as an example). The soup was ok. The thickness was there, but the flavor wasn't as deep as I expected. I can't point to what was missing, but the flavor isn't as deep as my favorite place. We also had the miso ramen. The soup was fine, and the toppings were the same. We ordered the sides of egg roll and the fried kabocha pumpkin. Not bad! The egg roll is vegetarian.
