Very disappointed with the guest service at this location. There was no reason for the older heavier man that is supposedly manager named "Peter" to have been so rude to me. I was there for an order pick up and immediately after he couldn't find my order he starts raising his voice at me as if it was my fault. He thought I ordered at the wrong location. So I told him I'd show him a screenshot of my order in case that helped. He goes on to exclaim "No! That's not how I do things!" And walks away to check all the orders and when he comes back to the register I read my order to him and he interrupted me saying that I can't do that because he only takes order numbers and names. At this point he was being complicated because he couldn't find anything under my name and didn't want to see a screenshot. He then realized that my order was there all this time and never apologized for his rude attitude. I don't know how this man is manager. Horrible guest service and it wasn't even a busy day! I've never tasted pizza SO good! This pizza is phenom! I just got their cheese deep dish pizza but oh.my.goodness, it was amazing! The cheese was literally goo-ing out after cutting into it. They have two layers of dough topped with two layer of cheese and sauce on top. The only thing I would suggest, don't let them con you into their speedy lunch service, where it only takes 15 mins. Being a Chicago native, I enjoy good deep dish pizza. I've been going to Giordano's establishments for years and the spinach stuffed pizza has been exceptionally delicious every time. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant and the service was great. I know I'll be returning for many more years to come. read more

With restaurants, things change, sometimes very quickly. The newest menu here has been "tweaked" again in the last few months, and the cooking has improved. While the dinner "Non-Pizza" menu variety still leaves something to be desired, it has been expanded a bit. The lunch items have vastly improved, and there are now 10 specials listed, all under $10. The winners so far are the Italian "Market Deli" Sub, which is far more sophisticated than it sounds; the Chicken Milanese on Ciabatta is also first rate, At lunch they are $8-9 including a side (Salad, Soup or fries) and a beverage. The salads and soups that are included with the lunch specials are far better than the usual "tossed-in sides" at other places (See pictures). The Southside Italian Beef has moved up to a serious contender but is no longer in the lunch special category - its a all-hours item now. On this June visit we saw that the new menu shows more pasta dishes, so there's hope they have permanently added some new variety to the expected Pizzas. My honey and I were excited to try Chicago style stuffed pizza. We ordered the Chicago Classic with pepperoni added. We found it to be full of vegetables, microscopic portions of any sausage and pepperoni, and very bland. We did not warrant the $35 we paid for a medium pie that had no flavor. We are convinced that we must've gone to the wrong place for Chicago stuffed pizza, or most likely we are New York style pizza lovers instead. read more

4 of us came for dinner last Monday as my friend was moving to Toronto and wanted her last dose of deep dish. The restaurant only had 2 other tables the entire time we were there. Well this visit was quite a surprise.. Had a very bad experience the first visit when i took a carry out order. A group of friends came and ordered a medium pizza with olives ,green peppers , jalapeno peppers and onions....The pie was excellent ...The crust was perfect ... Close to perfect deep dish pizza.. tiramisu as a apetizer was quite good... maybe one of the best tiramisu's i had ... Last night we ordered and picked up three large thin crust pizzas from Giordanos Buffalo Grove. I was very unhappy with two of them as they were over cooked. I called and spoke with George the manager who could not have been NICER!!! He immediately asked to replace the pizzas and delivered them to my home! While their thin crust is decent and we order it regularly, I suggest you go somewhere else if you want deep dish/stuffed pizza. We ordered their stuff pizza take out. Got a medium sausage and I guess I must have a misconception that Sausage pizza is supposed to have sausage in it. We were lucky to get a small piece of sausage every three or 4 bites. Very Very doughy which I guess is what you get instead of sausage. Same size as Malnati's but $5 more expensive and without much sausage...pretty much a rip off to have called this a sausage pizzea. First time back here in probably 10 years. Still the same ole vibe. Great service on this trip as we came with a party of 15 or so. Even with it being busy, they still had held our reservation which was great. Got 1 deep dish pizza and 3 thin ones. Deep dish definitely being the way to go in Chicago, though if you could get two with your table, I would say they have an excellent thin crust as well. We order for lunch semi-regularly from work in nearby Deerfield. Food is always consistent with the high quality I expect from Giordano's, I love the lunch combos, and delivery is usually a reasonable wait. Today we had a small snafu with delivery, but both the driver and the manager at the store were gracious and worked to resolve our problem quickly and kindly. Problems happen. This pizza is great. But the location? Not so much. I ordered for the first time from this location & they were horrible. The lady on the phone told me it would take an hour to an hour & 15. I waited for an hour & a half, maybe even two hours. Once we got our pizza, there were not any forks, knives or NAPKINS. My mom called the place & asked why we weren't provided with any, the lady responded, oh you're so supposed to tell us upon request. Horrible experience. No refills. While celebrating a birthday we were told to consolidate our seating so others waiting can be served. First time a restaurant tells us to move while eating so another party can sit down. This is why there are wait times. But, my brother and I, who are from Texas, can't get enough of this place when we visit my dad in Vernon Hills. Our mouths salivate for months ahead of time just counting down the days until we can eat this amazing deep dish pizza!!! Before my dad moved to Chicago, I had never seen pizza built like this before (thick with cheese and sauce on top). I was hesitant at first due to the fact that I'm not a huge sauce lover, but boy was I wrong. The taste is out of this world! The amount of string, gooey, hot cheese makes the experience one of a kind. It's definitely on the pricier side, but I think that's just Chicago in general. Also, the wait can be pretty long. Giordano's & I recently hosted a late Friday party for 40+ family members in town before a wedding & reception. We chose it b/c it was site of couple's 1st date years earlier! Having our pre-wedding party here turned out to be a great decision. Their ala carte meal (salads, apps, pop/beer/wine & 12 pizzas) was excellent & very cost effective! But most importantly the staff here could not have been nicer, more responsive nor more accommodating to us. Waitresses were phenomenal & manager was great too. Having our party here was completely aggravation free for me and turned out to be both a very nice & cost effective way to host/ feed our large group. Lou Malnati's has made mistakes with my order before and they offered me a free appetizer or free delivery of the right pizza. This review is not representative of the entire location, but just the manager working tonight 4/13/18. I asked the waitress if we could have the entree size Greek salad with no lettuce but to compensate with extra ingredients. Waitress went to ask the kitchen if this would be okay and they said no problem. The salad came but did not compensate for the entree salad. In fact, it fit in one of the small salad bowls on the table. The waitress asked the manager if we could have enough ingredients to make it an entree sized salad. The waitress came back, said, "manager said no" and took the salad away. The manager, at our table told me that those ingredients cost more than lettuce. She could care less about solving the problem, only cared about protecting the salad ingredients that ended up in the garbage. In the end, this lady would rather throw good food in the garbage and tick off a customer. Good business is about good experiences and this lady (the manager) obviously lacks this understanding. I cater lots of food Mon-Fri for work. Moving forward, when I order pizza I might remember my salad going into the garbage at Giordano's and order from Lou Malnatis. read more
