Giordanos never disappoints! I was driving from Indiana to Wisconsin, and what better place to stop than the best pizza restaurant on the planet! It was late (around 8pm) but still plenty of table being served but they were limited on staff. We were greeted in about 5 minutes, and the deep dish pizza took about 35 which is normal. As always it taste amazing, and the motzerella triangles are a nice appetizer to share among friends while leaving room for the main course. The staff were all friendly, and we did need some help from someone else as our waiter was very busy but everything was great and we definitely would come back. The only downside of going to Giordanos is choosing between the pizza and the Italian beef.

Service was absolutely horrible. I called ahead to make a reservation and reschedule pizza at a specific time. I was told we can just walk in. So we did. The place was busy and we weren't seated for at least 20 min while other groups were seated before us and I had told them we preordered pizza. We sit down and no one comes to our table for a while until I motion to the manager. There appears to be one waitress for the whole restaurant. We get our food and it's definitely been made as preordered but since it took such a long time to get seated and serviced at our table, it's obviously not fresh anymore and has been sitting out. At the end of all this, no compensation on our check.

We ordered pizzas to go late evening on a Saturday Labor Day weekend. Our cousins insisted we have to try this pizza as we were visiting from California. Pizza was ready in time and hot. We ate it when we got back to hotel room. This was the best pizza I've ever had. We ordered a small which was plenty even took leftovers home and was delicious reheated as well.

Do you want to try a super delicious Chicago-style pizza? Then Giordano's restaurant is the place for that! A big plus is that it has multiple locations around Chicago, and many of them are open until late. I visited a few locations, and I can declare that every single restaurant was always ideally clean, nicely decorated, and, of course, very busy! The atmosphere at this restaurant chain is always fun! Note that during weekends and busy weekdays, it's better to make a reservation if you want to eat inside. The bar area is often very busy too; it may be hard to get a seat there, especially if there are a few of you. Another option if you don't want to wait in a long line for a table is to use the official website and place your order online. By the way, cooking a Chicago-style pizza usually takes about 30 minutes, so make sure to place your online order in advance before coming to the restaurant. Another big plus is that there are multiple size options for the pizza. I believe that an Individual size is more than enough for one person. Don't be tricked by the Small size, as it is for 2-3 people (they put this information on the website menu when you place your order). The Chicago-style pizza is SUPER filling! Even when I order an individual size, I cannot finish it all at once; I always leave one piece for the next day. By the way, you can build your own pizza if you don't see the one you want on the menu. I personally like to make a BBQ chicken/pepperoni/mushrooms/tomato pizza, but from time to time, I play with the ingredients depending on my mood. The restaurant menu has a lot of options for food. It's not only about Chicago-style pizza, but I come to this place specifically for that. The prices on the menu are mostly reasonable, though a few items are overpriced, including the Chicago-style pizza, which is not that cheap. By the way, here's a little trick: if there are two of you and your tastes are pretty much the same, order and share one Small Chicago-style pizza. It will be a bit more food and cheaper than ordering two Individual pizzas. This specific restaurant I am reviewing was the last one I recently visited. Its location is not very convenient, to be honest. The area around it is still developing and building up. But the restaurant is big, remodeled, everything there was in very good condition and ideally clean. Every single restaurant worker was sweet and friendly to me. And a plus is that it may not be as busy as the restaurants in Downtown Chicago, so you can always get a table there or seats at the bar. I absolutely recommend Giordano's if you're looking for Chicago-style pizza! Trust me, you will not regret it!

long wait times even on a slower evening Came here on a Monday night to finally have chicagos well known deep dish! Heard this was a good chain to try out! Right off the bat parking is $10 for those who are eating here which I'm kind of surprised by, but whatever. I was immediately sat and while I'm by myself it took 15 minutes for my waiter to check on me for the first time which seemed weird as it wasn't very busy. Majority of tables were already eating and not waiting. I was told then that deep dish would take 45 minutes to cook and thin crust 35 minutes to bake once I placed my order. So in total I waited an hour before I could eat. It took another 10 minutes after being seen to get my cocktail, which again, not a busy night so shocked it took so long. I've been to packed bars with faster service! The pizza was good though, nicely cooked and a good amount of toppings piled on. The crust though isn't anything to rave about. I actually didn't eat the left over crust so there was a pile of it left on my plate - kind of like a worse version of pie crust? Like I said, nothing too great. I was only able to eat 3 slices before I was stuffed and the waiter kindly packaged it all up for me to take back. Overall not horrible pizza, but after talking to a few locals they say they don't really prefer this as there are many other better deep dish places. Glad to have tried this to experience it and move onto the next pizza place!

Aww man, first time trying deep dish pizza and I feel like I'm ruined for any other place, it's that good. Be patient! Perfection takes time in the oven. This place is pretty cool, good drinks, good service and clean restrooms. What else can you ask for. They have a large back dining room last the restrooms where it looks like they hold catering parties. I highly recommend their Meat and More Meat Deep dish. It really is delicious. Lots of cheese, meats and the perfect amount of sauce. Crust is not mushy but nice and crisp and holds together perfectly.

First local experience with Chicago deep dish pizza and it did not disappoint. My friend who is currently studying at UIC took me here and we came in very hungry. We ordered the deep dish with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms and it was so good. We also ordered the cheese sticks as we waited for the main course. Overall a really good experience with the one thing I needed to try while visiting the Windy City!

The classic Chicago pie, pepperoni, onions and we said no to mushrooms, flavor overall 10/10

The pizza is five stars just prepared to wait 45 minutes to get one. The service is good. They come with the refills very regularly. The place is clean and the staff seats you relatively quickly. The place could use a little soul, and it really has no personality as far as decor and ambience. The pizza is the star of the show, lots of cheese, very rich flavored sauce, and the crust is superb. It's literally pie crust on a pizza it tastes so delicious. The cheese pull is legendary; I wish I would've got a picture of it. It's a cheese lovers paradise. Next time I would probably take one to go. It tasted great the next day when I put it in the microwave. Great pie, but they gotta pick up the pace when it comes to the service.

Service was good and fast. Appetizers came out pretty quickly. Ordered the wings, garlic parm fries, and salads which were all pretty good. Pizza takes about 40 minutes but they let you know that on the menu. The personal pizzas are really small, like smaller than the appetizer plates. We did "build your own" and my pizza ended up kind of soupy. Since this was my first experience with deep dish, I don't have anything to compare it to so that may be normal. Flavor was good. Only downsides were that the long islands we ordered were on the weaker side and they didn't have ketchup bottles, only small packets so that was a bit weird but overall a good experience.

I had Friends in town from Nebraska and they wanted to try deep dish pizza. We decided to go to this restaurant as it was close to downtown but not one of those tourist traps. We we were able to get seated right away and I and had a good view of the Sear's tower. This location has parking however it's $5 for up to 2 hours which isn't a bad deal at all. All. Also there is an attendant outhere's an attendant outside felt good for safety. On to the food of course we had to get classic deep dish pizza. But they also wanted to try another pizza because they weren't sure if they were going to like the deep dish. Since deep dish takes 45 minutes to make we opted for drinks beforehand. I got a Cosmo, which was a big mistake. It did not have the color that a normal Cosmo would have and it was not cold at all. I did have to return it. I ended up grabbing a glass of Malbec and that was really delicious. As far as my friends they were satisfied with the bloody Mary and the Margarita. Our food came out and of course the deep dish was really delicious the thin crust was also good but I feel like they didn't bring that out as soon as it was ready so it was lukewarm which was a little disappointing. We had plenty of leftovers and they were gracious to provide pizza boxes to take home. I would say all in all was a good experience. Our server seemed to be a little inexperienced but she was friendly. She was forgetful. We did have to reminder a couple of times for our necessities such as plates and water but she did bring it. In the end the Nebraska ladies prefer the deep dish to the thin cross and even was considering ordering the frozen to take home.

It's $10 to park if you'd like to park in the small parking lot. The man had us squeeze our suv into a small spot. The way vehicles are parked in the parking lot I'm sure some get scrapped. Went on a Monday around 1pm and it wasn't busy at all, only 2 other parties there. The server checked on us plenty of times though she talked really low so half the time I wasn't sure what she said. The salad and the pizza I ate were very good.

Parking? It's close to the loop, so don't expect free parking! However, Giordano's customers do get a discount. And if you're of the riding type, this location is a very short walk from the UIC-Halsted CTA Blue Line station, use the east ramp to exit. I thought this location had a bit more charm than a location within the Loop I had walked past, near Sears/Willis Tower (which you've got a view of from the front windows). If it's just the two of you, a small deep dish pizza will do! It takes 45 minutes to make, so definitely order an appetizer to kill time, but it's so worth it! read more

I went here my first night in Chicago and was blown away! I had been doing research whike planning my trip to Chicago on where to get some good authentic deep dish pizza and Giordano's seemed like the place. Having this be my first meal in the city absolutely ruined the rest of my Chicago dining experience because nothing was as good as the deep dish from Giordano's! Tried to order takeout from this location. Driver was over an hour and a twenty minutes late. Food was cold and congealed. Driver offered no explanation or apology for his lateness and was rude. Got no help from restaurant or driver. Would never order from these guys again. read more

Updating this review because I mistakingly put the wrong one here. My son had a field trip and this place was on our stop for dinner. We took up the entire back of the restaurant. With so many people you would think the service would struggle but they did an amazing job keeping over 200 kids taken care of. We had a nice salad and a huge variety of pizzas and breads. I brought my friend here for a number of reasons: 1. She is from CA and wanted Chicago style pizza (hold your judgment until you read the other reasons) 2. She had a [successful] interview at UIC's med school and needed to get to O'Hare that night. 3. This Giordano's is half a block from the blue line. 4. It was raining like an mfer. 5. I was being lazy It was dead in there at 6p on a Tuesday and the servers did not look happy. Not sure if they always look that way though. I am speculating, but the table next to us left after the manager came over to say 'sorry about that' and took their pizza. The best part of the night was when the happy [I use that term loosely] server came to our table with our deep dish: Server: Can you just slide that over here please? Me: [slides pizza holder to the middle] Server: Great. Here. Me: thanks. 5 stars for deep dish cheese and bread - 6 stars for none-too-happy service staff = 3 stars. read more

I love this place, it's so close to my work and my home so my husband and I stop here whenever we're craving stuffed pizza. I ALWAYS order pineapple and an assortment of veggies in my pizza. I also love that there's an option to order an individual sized mini stuffed pizza that's under $8, which is awesome if you're on-the-go. Best part about Giordano's? I actually love the stuffed pizza COLD the next day, especially if it has pineapple! Mmmmmm... Parking is a bit hard to find in Greektown, especially during peak hours, but somehow we always manage to find one. If you park in the lot, they charge you some amount, but I don't know how much it is since I never park in there. read more

Pizza? Delicious. Time we waited for the pizza? An unappetizing 40 minutes. However, our server (Branislava, I believe her name was) was very apologetic, and I thought she did her best to give us the best service she could, so points to her for effort. My boyfriend and I were in Chicago for a few days last week, and on Sunday (08/17), and I made a point of wanting to try a pizza like this. This was my first time eating an actual, authentic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, and I was pleased. We ordered a small pizza with two toppings, pepperoni and mushrooms. It was little messy to eat at first (I actually had to use a knife and fork to cut into it...I could hear cries of rage from my Italian ancestors as I did so), but the flavor was superb. I wonder how they were able to cram all the pepperoni into the bottom layer without causing them to spill over? Must be magic, I guess. The decor reminds me of a local Italian family eatery, with a generally casual atmosphere. It was a bit loud inside, but that's because there's a lot of activity going on with takeouts and servers heading in and out. I'd like to come back at some point, but I hope I don't have to wait so long for my pizza. read more

I'm always a fan of Giordano's so I can't complain too much about the food. On this particular night this location had the task of serving our large party for one of my work events on a holiday (albeit a Hallmark Holiday) and they did an outstanding job accommodating us. The event planner at work booked this way in advance, but certainly they still had to deal with other business coming in that night placing heart shaped pizza orders. Shortly after arriving they shuffled us off to their back room which for a large party is semi private. They already had salads waiting for us and within 20 minutes of our arriving started setting up our per-ordered deep dish and thin selections. The staff was very friendly and worked with us to place two additional pizza orders. One of the main wait staff servicing our group even included our large group in the complimentary cookie sundae being offered because of the holiday. Our guests loved it! The staff was even willing to work with us to box up leftovers (because I thought it would be a waste to leave leftover pizza behind). Kudos to the staff of this location for being attentive to our large party for our work event. I'm sure we will be using you in the future for this event, 4 plus and counting. read more

I visited Chicago for the first time this weekend and was told I had to have a deep dish pizza during my visit. A few restaurants were mentioned, but Giordano's was close to my hotel and also delivered. My girlfriend and I ordered a small deep dish pizza and were overjoyed when it arrived on time about an hour and 15 minutes later. Not only was the pizza less greasy than I expected, they didn't skimp on the toppings. Yes, there was a lot of cheese, but that's what I expect from a pizza when the options are CHEESE + TOPPING(S). Hanging out after a great workout! Good service and the food is awesome! Valet parking is real easy. Atmosphere is casual and great. Food is some of the best in Italian pizza casual. This has become a go to spot for my lady and me. Casual bar as well. Lake shore ice tea is yummy! read more

This place sucks lol we heard Chicago pizza was good. This place is overrated. It's not even authentic deep dish. It's tomatoe sauce and cheese inside a bread bowl lol the waiter there didn't even acknowledge that we were there. Thanks for the experience. (Sarcasm) read more

That was one hell of a pie. This place does Chicago deep dish pizza right. We came super hungry, and left destroyed! 8 of us ordered 2 pizzas and barely made a dent. One slice was good. Ordered the Greek salad and that was quite the family size. Great spot. These guys represent Chicago well. read more

Came with a friend for the Chicago deep dish pizza available here. For those who don't know, this represents the other popular local pizza chain in Chicago (the other being Lou Malnati's). Just a heads up, since parking is hard to find around here, there is valet parking available for a discounted price for those who dine here (good to know!). It also took a little more than an hour for our order to cook so don't come expecting to eat any time soon should you come drop by here. That being said, I was starving by the time our order came out but came to appreciate why such took the time that it took to cook. Deep dish pizza here is pretty good. In comparison to Lou Malnati's, this joint uses more cheese on its deep dish than the former, which I can appreciate since I am a cheese fan. Sauce here is tangy, fresh, and complemented the flavors of the whole pie well. One thing I will note is that the crust was a little drier than I prefer, but that didn't really seem to be much of a problem with adequate sauce & cheese lining the top of the deep dish pizza pie. In general, I was pretty stuffed after about 2 slices & we left with leftovers. Overall, this is a decent pizza place to visit for Chicago deep dish & I would recommend to those who've never had such before. Just be sure to get parking validated if you're parking via valet & don't come expecting pizza right off the bat (takes a while for such to cook - usually ~ 1 hr). Oh and definitely come hungry! read more

Everything was delicious. The small deep dish half was vegetarian and half was supposed to be pepperoni but was sausage instead. When I told the waiter the management took a percentage off the bill. All in all it was a very good experience. read more

Oh my goodness I have dreams about their deep dish pizza. So so delicious. The wait for the food to come out was pretty long, but make sense because these pizzas were so big. We should have listened to the server when he told us he doubted we could finish two medium pizzas - he was definitely right. I had two and a half slices and immediately fell into a deep food coma. So sad that they don't have anything like this in LA. read more

It's sad to give only three stars to this great pizzeria. The stuffed pizza here is one of the best in town. However, the service from my last visit was so awful that my friend decided to leave only $3 on the table. We didn't mean to be cheap and would typically do 20%. When we first seated, it took almost 10 minutes for the server to realize that he was supposed to take our orders. No, it wasn't busy at all. In fact, there were only three tables and two of them before us already got their food. Then, we had to walk around and look for the server twice just to get the refill. Finally, after we got the pizza (after approx. 40 minutes) he didn't even notice that there were no plates and utensils on the table. Oh well, not again. read more

Normally I like Giordanos Pizza. More than like, I love the deep dish Chicago style pizza that Giordanos is known for. Tonight I tried a new topping from my favorite deep dish provider. I decided to do half cheese and half sausage/giardiniera. Well, guess what? The pizza that arrived at my apartment was a disaster. Instead of half cheese and half sausage/giardiniera, I received a pizza overly saturated in garlic with several sausages carelessly dumped across the pizza. Someone needs to tell Giodanos that my boyfriend and I are not vampires. The level of garlic was truly toxic and after giving it a polite chance we decided to abandon the pizza. Tonight was a profoundly disappointing experience thanks to Giordanos lack of quality control. My advice for any reader is to order simple toppings from Giordanos because anything more complex than a singular topping may run you the risk of having to make a phone call to the Center for Disease Control. In our case tonight, the words cheese, sausage, and giardiniera, were accidentally replaced with garlic and sausage. Next time, I will choose another pizza joint. Thanks Giordanos for screwing up a simple order. #Shameful read more

I love pizza. All pizza. Especially Chicago style pizza. On a prior bachelor party I was able to partake in the incredible pizza that is offered at this fine establishment and my only complaint is that I was forced to pick up the bill from 7 other guys. Yikes. Second time around in Chicago my wife, who had also eaten at one of their locations before, and I knew we had to return to Giordanos. We were not disappointed. The food was incredible yet again. Service was great. We arrived right before 12 and best the noon rush. We enjoyed the small cheese + 2 ingredients stuffed pizza that they are known for. 6 slices between 2 people and we left with one slice uneaten. It will fill you up and the taste is amazing. If you are in Chicago you have to check them out. They have locations all over the city. You can't go wrong here. read more

I had recently moved to Chicago and was excited to try Giordano's because I had heard so many great things. I don't know if it was just this location or the night that we went (Friday Night around 6:30PM), but the service wasn't so great and the food wasn't much better. We weren't acknowledged at the door or when we walked up to the hostess stand (they seemed stressed and busy), we were seated within 5 minutes though. No one came to our table for literally 15 minutes, no one really walked by either for us to ask about our server. Once someone came to our table, they started apologizing and mid-way through the sentence, they just walked away. They came back a few minutes later, apologizing again and then took our drink order. A few minutes later, we had our beers and placed our order. We got the Cheesy Garlic Bread, which was probably the only thing that tasted alright, and a Greek Salad for Appetizers. For dinner, Pizza and the "Northside" Italian Beef Sandwich. We got EVERYTHING all at once, the apps and the dinner. All of the food came out about 10-15 minutes after ordering. We didn't even have time to enjoy the apps or our beers before being served. Then, it took forever to get a to-go container and our check. I know everyone keeps saying this is great pizza, but it wasn't that good. It was dry, not very flavorful, and it wasn't a great dining experience. Best deep-dish pizza place in Chicago! This Giordano's has a very attentive staff and management. Whether its dine-in, carry-out, or delivery they are always spot on and the food comes out perfect. Its a great location for students, groups of friends, or family get-togethers because the dining room can accommodate whatever you need. My personal favorite is the Large Stuffed Spinach pizza, and the Bruschetta. They also have a local selection of beer and great cocktails. I love this location, and will definitely be back!! read more

Some friends recommended this place to me because they told me they have the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. It also helped that I came here right after I went to Willitis Tower and got a coupon to use. Anyways, my friend and I split an appetizer of fries and a chicago style pizza half bbq chicken and half meat + jalapenos. The crust itself is what I would expect for chicago style pizza and I thought it was really good. The service was fine since it seemed like a slow afternoon since there were only maybe 3-4 tables in the entire restaurant. The restaurant itself was pretty big and they had a parking lot in front in case anyone was worried about parking. Overall, I would come back here for more pizza. read more

Despite growing up near a city with a large Italian community, my hometown was a food dessert - one pizzeria within 20 miles. So, pizzas were just a quick source of carbs as a youth and (along with beer) as a teen. Fast forward, and my cycling club frequents pizza shops apres-ride, notably the small chain Armands which claims to have introduced Chicago-style deep dish to D.C. As a vegetarian, I fall in love with one particular spinach and garlic pie, and cannot get enough! Then, Armands shops start closing and soon there are none anywhere nearby. A few locations transition to outposts of a Chicago emporium opened in 1943; a spinach/garlic combo is offered but they seem to merely reheat a frozen pie. Interest wanes until a Washington Post article features different pizza styles, starting a search for a worthy Armands heir; I find a passable "St. Louis"-style pie but am not satisfied. A couple of years later, I'm flying into Midway with some free time and seize the opportunity for a true Chicago experience at Giordano's en route to Union Station. I arrive midday on a rainy Saturday, face a 40 minute wait and use the time to scope out the scene: Plenty of seating in separate sections, each with dedicated big screen tvs; brick walls; high ceiling to dissipate noise; an eclectic menu that offers too many choices to make just one. It all screams SPORTS BAR. Then I get my spinach/garlic deep dish and have a RELIGIOUS experience! The crust is fresh and flavorful like a just-out-of-the-oven bakery product but unlike (and SO superior to) ANY pizza crust I've EVER had before! Spinach and cheese are folded INTO that heavenly dough! I love garlic and rarely get enough but this pie had a good amount to complement but not supplement other components. I might have appreciated more sauce but am not sure whether/not that would have diminished any other ingredient. There was a REASON for that 40 minute wait! Although tempted to inhale this revelation, I savored it over three days! What's next? I'm going to have some Giordano's pizza shipped home and see if I can come ANYWHERE close to replicating this experience! If that's not satisfactory, I'm going BACK to Chicago for a freshly made pie AND a game! read more

The reason i did not give it 5 stars. 1. Parking I do not like the parking lot the restaurant is in, and to charge on top of it would ? 2. The staff is a bit on the slow side when it comes to service. When i went i sat there for at least 10-15 good minutes before our order was placed. 3. The wait for the deep-dish takes a good 45 minutes on top of the time i waited for the waitress to ask our order. But at least you know its made fresh. 4. 1 star for being remotely edible and only because I was very hungry. I understand the pizza taking a long time but shouldn't it be kind of warm when it gets to you? That didn't even ruin it for me...I really am not that picky about food but it was really barely edible. The crust was not edible at all and the pizza alternated between being dry and having way too much sauce piled on to dry crust. It had the flavor of cardboard, even the sauce. My husband and I had our first date at Giordano's. When we visited my son at college we would always take him to Giordano's. As a birthday treat most of my family members choose Giordano's. Meh, pizza was very bland. The deep dish sausage pizza I always get was slightly better here than the Logan square location but not as good as Morton grove location. I decided that malnati is my favorite pizza. read more
