Poor experience from this restaurant. I ordered a pizza that was supposed to be delivered at 8:10. I called at 8:45 to check the status and my pizza was sitting there in the restaurant was I outside? When I said no it was supposed to be delivered 30 minutes ago I was put on hold. Then they returned to the line saying no, it's with the driver and on the way. Needless to say at 9:10 a cold pizza arrived. I would have waited for another pizza to be made or just cancelled the order. Delivering food that had been sitting there is just unacceptable. read more

So I'd have to agree with all the other reviews that speak on how poor the service is at this location. It's very unfortunate because all the other locations I've never had a problem at all. To start off, I called to place my order ahead of time so the wait would be minimal. The guy that answered, I couldn't even understand his name. Next I ordered and I had to ask him to repeat it because he seemed so disinterested in what he was doing that I wasn't sure he got it. Next we show up, walk in, and give them our name and phone number and for about 7 minutes they act like they have no idea who we are even though I just called in an order. Shortly what looks like the manager finds our order in a different stack. We are promptly seated. Now let's wait 15 minutes for a waitress to notice us and take our drink order. On top of that, here personality and professionalism was poor at best. Finically our Deep Dish arrives!!! Yay!!! Or not! Anytime I've been to the other locations the waitress serves the first slice,,,,, well not here! Bet let's eat!!! First bite you always have to be careful or risk melting the skin from your mouth. Well not here. Apparently our pizza had sit long enough that it was no longer hot, but just warm. Rather than complain, we just ate paid the bill and left. It was obvious that this wasn't a restaurant or staff that cared or was interested in fixing any mistakes. I'll make sure next time I'm in Matteson, IL....... never mind, I've already decided next time I'm staying in another town. The experience I had at Giodanos seemed to be the typical treatment in Matteson. I don't foresee this town ever being a nice place until the attitude of its inhabitants change. read more

Im going to give two stars because the pizza is good. That being said i would give zero stars for effort. Its a wednesday night, at the most maybe 2 tables being served. There was 2 workers in the lobby maybe one more, and 3 people making food in the kitchen. I walk in with my family since its my daughters bday. The person at the front (host)tells us the dining area is now closed because they only have one server and they cant handle more than what they have already. Now i know this is 2021 and covid is going on and all that, but if your a host or hostess and u take ur job description to heart and you cant even take an order to the 3 guys in the kitchen what are you doing? I feel bad for businesses that have to put up with employees like this. Its a shame and whoever is managing these employees needs to be fired along with the incompetents. I know people are gonna be reading and saying this guys being a karen and dont u know theres no employees right now? That doesnt excuse a worker from not working if he or she shows up for work. Otherwise youre just lazy and a thief. Our experience here was terrible. Our waitress was very rude, pizza came out cold and the wings took almost an hour to come out (after we were told less than 15 mins). It's sad that this area has very little restaurants and this is the outcome of one that we do have. I hope something will change about this location. read more

The food was disgusting!!! The pizza was nasty. It barely had any sausage on it. The fries and lettuce were soggy. I've been to plenty Giordano's and wow this was horrible. Management you need to do better. We usually eat at the Giordanos near or in the city. There is no way they could get away with serving this quality of food there. I wasted my hard earned money. I ordered a specialty pizza and when it was delivered it was only half size. Driver said no worries I'll go back and have them make you another. I received a call about 15 minutes later from the manager explaining to me that the specialties only came half size even though the website does not state that and you have the option to select small, medium, large as you would any other pizza. He said no worries I'll send you out a new one. After an hour and a half I called back to see if it was still coming and I received yet another half sized pizza. While I appreciate one manager trying to make the correction another manager did not want make the correction and sent me exactly what I didn't want in the first place. Easy fix, have your website updated to reflect the correct size. If one manager wants to fix the problem, another person in leadership should not try to override that decision. read more

Thanks so much to Giordanos in Matteson for screwing up our Valentines Day! The way you happily took our credit card and said you would deliver by 7 pm was wonderful ! Except for the fact that we had to call at 7:30 because our pizza wasn't here yet! We talked to some card shark who informed us through their lying teeth that a mythological creature by the name of Andre was in the process of delivering our lowly pizza (even though she shouldn't be telling me this; so nice to have an inside to the truth!) within the half hour. 90 minutes later still not having our order ( but our money fully invested into their 401K) we've come to the realization that this Giordano's is not a food establishment but a dietary business.....they can take your money but they can't deliver food! Had the absolute worst service. My Pizza was warm not hot. Dirty dishes remained on the table. I was charged twice for an item I ordered. And the server apologized stating that another customer had her frazzled over crushed peppers. Won't go back there again ! I'll drive to the city if I want to treat out of town guests ! I don't even remember the servers name. That's how removed she was from our table. If it matters to the location managers, I was there on 6/14 with a party of 6 for a 7pm reservation. read more

This is my second visit to this particular establishment, the first time back in 2017 was very good. The second which I'm still at hasn't been very good at all in fact I wouldn't come back after this night. I am with a party of four and we have been waiting for almost 2 hours for our pizzas. We are the only 4 people in the restaurant also. They told us that they had a big order call in so that put us back. I've been trying to figure out why you wouldn't put the customers that are actually sitting in the restaurant first but ok!? Manager happened to come by our table because the waitress said something to him and offered a free round of drinks and an appetizer, yeah maybe he tried to make it right but not hardly. He had no more words for us other than that. The appetizer would still not have come out even if we did order it. So in my experience this last time that I'll be here was horrible. read more

I was one of the first customers at the original on 63rd and California. This place doesn't come remotely close. Ordered a pizza and appetizer. Went to pick it up. Pizza was not ready for another 20 minutes (small thin sausage and mushroom) after my online order was to be ready. Got it home (about 5 mins away) and appetizer was cold (meaning it was done when pizza went in oven). Opened it up, NO DIPPING SAUCE. Pizza was dry and totally void of any taste, partially due to frozen, premade franchise crust. Literally cracker like. I've had better pizza from a gas station rack. A while back, we ordered a famous Gio's stuffed pizza. Got it home, and the thing was half raw. Gave them another chance. Big mistake, and waste of $26. Typical franchise garbage.... read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. What a terrible place. Got seated and waited 20 minutes and not one person came and even asked us what we wanted to drink. On top of seeming like a huge inconvenience when we walked in while there were very few people in the restaurant.And no it was not close to closing time. I have been to the one on Navy Pier multiple times and it has been an amazing experience but I am appalled. I am from three hours away and one stop while in the city is alway to grab some pizza. Not only did she get our order correctly and quick, but she literally worked the whole restaurant!! She has such a wonderful personality and was very nurturing to my son who was not feeling well! Matteson, IL location has TERRIBLE customer service. Terrible. I called in an order and was told 35-40 minutes for pick up. I allowed 45 minutes to go by before going into the location to pick up my food. Upon arrival I paid for my order and the young lady turned around to the heater to get my pizza and couldn't find it. She went back to the kitchen and it appeared by the look on her face when she came out that it wasn't ready yet. She told me about 10-15 more minutes and said they couldn't find my ticket and asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said yes. The manager came out, apologized in saying they were backed up and told me 5 minutes. I phoned my fiancé to check on my 2 month old and before I knew it 10 minutes had gone by. I asked the same young lady if she could check on my order & within a few minutes or so my pizza was brought out by the manager. Upon handing me over my pizza, the manager didn't realize that there was more to my order. I ordered 2 orders of fries to go with my pizza. He proceeded in going to get them from behind the register where they had several other orders. At this point I was even more upset that my fries didn't come out with my pizza, FRESH! I told the manager that I wanted fresh fries or a refund for the fries and the same young lady that initially helped me, stormed off and called me irritating. Her response was ignorant, unprofessional, and unnecessary. If I wasn't a 30 year old woman, with 2 kids, and a great paying job with nothing to lose, I would've stormed back into that kitchen to follow her and showed her irritating. All in all I waited at LEAST an extra 30 minutes in this ghetto establishment surrounded by POOR customer service and management. The manager offered a $10 credit to my account which I'm sure I won't see because he gave me a refund for the fries. There should have been more taken off of my order and better empathy & customer service given. The whole point of CALLING AHEAD is to not have to wait upon arrival. It's a pandemic going on, I have a newborn and toddler at home. It was not in my plans WHATSOEVER to sit around, parlay, and wait for my food. So, I'm not usually a big fan of reviewing restaurants. Of course I'll come on to sites like yelp and check out what other people have to say about things, but I've never felt the impetus to actually contribute myself. Until now. I placed an order at 3:00pm for a very simple pizza order. We were told 1hr 15 minutes. 1hr 35 minutes rolls by, we call and they say they told us it was going to be an 1 hr 45 minutes. (Lie). They then said that the pizza was already in the car and on the way to us so it should arrive by the time they lied about (4:45). Our pizza did not arrive until 5:15. DO NOT order from this Giordano's until management does something about the idiots they have working there. It's unbelievably infuriating. The food arrived cold, the delivery driver was some punk who didn't say anything and tried to walk away without handing us our receipt. Order from a different location. I implore you. The other reviews complaining are not a joke. This place is an absolute catastrophe to the Giordano's legacy. This place is poorly managed and understaffed. I went to pick up two pizzas and you cannot get in the door to do just that. When you walk in they only have two employees to seat patrons, take phone orders, and to take payment for pick up, waited ten minutes to pick up. One of the two employees was taking phone orders only, and the other would ask you to wait while they would also have to handle the phone. As far as the pizza, twenty bucks for a medium, one ingredient thin crust, that personally tasted like a twelve dollar pizza from a smorgasbord, don't waste your time or money here. Nicky is the best mixologist ever. She made me the best drinks that she free-styled. I didn't want anything off the menu, so I asked to her to just make me something special and she did her thing and introduced me to concepts and ideas that I can make at the house.
