What started out as a good dining experience quickly went down hill. We were seated right away and our server informed us that it would take an hour for our small deep dish pizza we said ok and ordered salads. At the hour and 15 minute mark we asked our server to check on our order and to box it to go. She then told us she said it would take a hour and half. The cooks are slow. Placed online order which gives you a pickup time. When I arrived at the time my order was supposed to be ready it wasn't done. The waiter at the front went to check on it and the cook said the order was just placed so it's going to take some time in which the order was placed an hour ago. Ordered a veggie deep dish pizza (and other food) on Saturday 8/31/19. Within one hour of ingesting the veggie pizza ONLY the individuals that ate the veggie pizza were vomiting into Sunday morning, had the chills and suffered from food poisoning like symptoms. Once able to function again, I called the location and spoke to a location manager who had no real response except that he would report this to the district/general manager. Well its two days later and I did not receive a call to confirm they have addressed the potential BAD food public health concern that I expressed, so I felt the need to tell others to be weary of ordering food from this location. Not only did we get sick but they also failed to follow up on a report of sickness from their food. I use to work for this company. This was probably the worst service I've ever experienced. We had a party of 15. It took 2 hour's for our food. The only pizza that was hot was the thin crust cheese the other 2 stuffed pizzas were cold. Also we had to cancel a pizza because it wasn't ready with the other 3. Preordered a couple pizzas for a change of pace on a road trip. The deep dish chicken sausage deluxe was delicious and filling. My boys loved the deep dish cheese pizza and almost finished it. Our waitress Nikki was excellent and gave great advice to cut up the pizza as it was super thick! The only constructive criticism I can give is the garlic cheese bread was a little heavy on the garlic butter. I grew up on the north side and I know what this franchise should taste like. With that being said I have visited this location 3 times. My first visit I spent over $127.00 and the pizza taste like cardboard box the cheese was NOT smooth and the crust was not buttery. My second visit the oven was not working properly and we order salad instead. My third visit it was a party of 18 and the waitress Letra did her best to accommodate us. Bad customer service and very long wait times. Even calling ahead for a pickup you'll be on hold for what seems like an eternity and you have to wait at least an hour and a half for food to be ready. Absolute worst Giordanos experience ever. Ordered a thin crust to come out first for the kids while the adults waited for deep dish and entrée. Alfredo came out 15 minutes before the thin crust, and the deep dish came out 45 minutes after the thin crust. This was our first time patronizing the new Giordano's in Matteson. We waited 10 mins for our server who came to our table to tell us he was getting off work and would get someone else to wait on us. About ten minutes later a young gal finally comes to our table. She takes our order. She returns 10 mins later to ask us again what we ordered! She told us it would take 45 mins for the pizza. The pizza and salad were good, but the service was horrible. Observing the wait staff was interesting. There were several persons just standing around doing nothing. Others showed by their demeanor that they were not happy working. Another was angry that a large party was coming and very loudly moved chairs around for the table. So loud, that most of us looked to see what the commotion was about. A bus boy came to our table and asked if he could take our dirty plates. We asked him to bring us a box for our leftovers. We are still waiting for him to come back. Finally we get the bill, but the waitress didn't come back. We ended up having to go to the front to pay. I like Giordano's pizza and took my son and granddaughter for pizza tonight. The Matteson location was not crowded and at first our waitress was friendly and attentive. We waited for quite some time for our pizza, it was a good thing we ordered appetizers. By the time we got our pizza it was barely warm, which means it sat in the kitchen for awhile. She turned into a turtle to get our box for take home and just as long to get our check. I did leave a small tip only because she was pleasant but could have gotten more if she had provided better customer service. read more

Used to love Giordano's and ordered regularly, but Matt the manager, just lost this location a customer with his dismissive response to an inquiry. I ordered a pizza online for delivery. The quoted delivery time was 2:33 - 2:43. I called at 3 pm to inquire and was told the delivery driver was dispatched at 2:21 and he was still within the delivery window although beyond the quoted time. Not sure how many deliveries he had, but I didn't get mine until 3:10. When it arrived the pizza was lukewarm, looked and tasted like it had been left in the oven too long. Matt couldn't care less about my issues. Lesson learned. I will not patronize this place again. read more

We were driving through and phones in our reservation for 6 and pizza order. When we arrived the hostess seated us right away and was friendly and helpful. The table next to us was a large birthday party and just after being seated the staff came out to sing, "Happy Birthday"! It was good fun to get in our the cheering and singing.
