This felt very mediocre. It was pricey for one thing. Each in our group got alcohol, an app, and a personal pizza. I don't think anyone enjoyed it. We may be more used to a NY style but this pizza seemed dry, the sauce was salty and the meat was greasy. It was smaller than expected to. No one had anything positive to mention except we did enjoy our salad and mozzarella triangles which is the only reason this is 2 instead of 1 star. The soda was flat too. The server was nice and knowledgeable. The place is LOUD and a few tables over some sort of repeated flash photography was going off which was distracting. The Good...the deep dish pizza is amazing!! This was my first time at Giordano's and the food even exceeded my expectations. The Bad...my second pie was apparently left in the warm for 5-10 minutes after I noticed other guests at the bar, that I ordered before, were served before me. The Ugly...The bartender Tommy was a complete A-HOLE. He made up bs excuses blaming the kitchen staff for not bringing my take-out order in a timely manner. The fact is that he was the only person who was bringing out every order at the bar. He had a bad attitude towards several customers seated at the bar. Don't be in a hurry, get a side salad, because they are delicious, sit back sip on a pop and prepare yourself for da taste. The one difference I noticed between out of state deep dish and Giordano's is just how much thicker it is in Chicago. It's heavy, but not rich, so I was able to do some real damage eating 3/4 of a medium. Between my wife and I we had some left overs. They don't have blue cheese, so being a former buffalo New York resident I found this hilarious. However, our waiter was amazing and put blue cheese crumbles in ranch which actually made for a really good house made blue. Overall I really liked the deep dish experience here. It's good. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. We were on a time crunch since we had to go to a rehearsal 30 minutes away. Our server was friendly and immediately took our order. When we told him we were in a hurry he told us that the pizza would take 30-40 minutes but he would bring it out as soon as it was done. Was hungry when I landed at O'hare and was staying nearby, so after a quick Yelp Giodornos came up decided to make a quick stop from the airport (about 7 minutes). I have tried Chicago style deep dish pizza a couple times and couldn't remember if I liked it. Yelp said it takes a while (45 min) to make so I ordered when I arrived, stepped outside and took a call, and it was ready when I finished. Ordered the small original deep dish, ate a couple slices, was full and took it to the hotel. I refrigerated it overnight and had 8p flight home so put it in my work bag. Just finished eating the rest with my wife about 48 hours later and it was almost better than the fresh. This pie is all real ingredients and travels well. I noticed my server was in training with another server and her trainer was doing a good job and taking it seriously. Seems to be a well managed restaurant. This location is near O'Hare in Rosemont and has big parking lot and plenty of tables. While there a couple big school groups can in and out. Impressive how efficient they fed all those kids.
